Review Zamzam Steakhouse - Leichhardt

Beautiful unique building structures, like a little Italian place, Nice coffee shop restaurants and library around, hi stand and modern clinics. Some shops-Peaceful just look around.

This is a delightful venue even now - it seems to have lost popularity - but for older age sightseeing it is still perfect. Coffee and food great, lots of space, no crowds, clean and easy walking, lifts, stairs ramps. Shine, shade and shelter - perfect for all seasons. Shocked to find it empty - but even so extremely pleasant - soft music playing, we could talk and laugh in this delightful atmosphere.

Stay away from the Italian forum car park. They advertised 2 hours free parking but we had to pay at the gates $9.25! An absolute scam! This place is empty. The shops are dead. There is practically no one here. The car park doesn’t help it either. The shops are also selling old and dated things. The whole thing needs to be demolished to make way for a new shopping center.

il piccolo cuore ..( the small heart ) of Italy the Italian Forum at Suburb of Leichhardt but the disappointing thing is ain’t what it use to be like 10 yrs ago was so vibrant and busy with little stores lovely coffee shops that you can smell the sweet aroma of grounded coffee, patisseries, delis and fruit shops the little Italian elderly men and women sitting in their benches for their daily communications have all faded yes the Italian forum I’ll give you .. give 3 stars out of 5

Can someone please tell me why they removed the arches? Doesn’t make any sense and all the complaint signs make the place more depressing

Some unfair reviews here. I have lived in the Forum, on and off, since the early 2000s. The piazza is now fairly quiet, which is great as a resident and owner who likes sleep. The fact is that Norton St is spoilt for choice as far as restaurants are concerned and people make commercial decisions about whether their business can turn a profit in a very competitive environment. However, there is renewed business confidence and some new restaurants and cafes have returned to lease long vacant premises, recognising that not everybody wants to be crushed and bustled and pushed and pulled around Norton St and want a more ‘laid back’ traditional experience. If people support these Forum businesses and the space - which has our district Library and Italian Cultural Centre then business confidence will improve and more restaurants will return. But don’t criticise commercial owners who are seeking a way to derive income from their properties. The Forum is a jewel in the Norton St Crown but don’t complain if you are not coming here.

Was here this weekend and all I can say is that it is dead. 95% of shops are closed.. On a weekend?! Judging from reviews it appears this place has been on a downward trend for a long time. Sad to see. Hopefully it can go back to it's former glory so that new generations can enjoy.

Quiet and empty of a once focal and buzzing centre, which amplified noise to the residents above. The fountain no longer flows and Italian places to eat or drink are but gone. Breaks my heart that it once had so much life but noisy Italians had to go. Now made famous from TV's Australian Gangster.
