Food was awesome and great value . We did'nt realise they closed at 3pm ...sorry guys. Coffee and Chai Tea were also great. Lovely staff, lovely place.
High quality food for lunch and very nice chai tea served with honey. The crispy skin salmon topped with lime tequila jam and freshly pickled jalepinos on top of a prickly pear, artichoke, cauliflower, potato and roasted pepitas salad was exceptional.

Went with a group of 9 people and every single one of us LOVED our meals. Meal portions were generous and the flavours were amazing. Will definitely be back.
Before coming to the red door cafe we had just walked 16km from the three sisters down the 900+ steps to the Leura forest and back around to the prince Henry cliff top walk. Not a bad lead up to gorge ourselves silly with the delicious food at Red Door Cafe. Luckily we arrived just before 3pm when the kitchen started closing on a Saturday afternoon. The whole cafe was busy when we arrived. Service was good, wait times were average and we helped ourselves to water to rehydrate.
The zucchini and feta fritters were actually more like pancakes. Soggy but full of flavour.
The Mexican special was definitely a winner that day.
Meal prices are moderate with our total bill for two coming to $38.50 with a Bilpin apple juice.
Would recommend coming back here to try some of their other delicious looking food.
Went to the cafe on a Friday and managed to get a spot. I ordered warm goats cheese and caramelised onion tart with rocket and balsamic vinegar. I had chai latte. I would definitely visit again.
Visited for lunch on a busy Saturday. Staff were friendly and seated the two of us very quickly but it would be tricky with a larger group. Our drinks came out first however there was quite a wait until the food came out. Ambience was quite nice and improved when music was put on.
Soup of the day (tomato) portion was very generous so much so that I didn’t finish (and I can eat a lot). Bruschetta bread was very nice and there was enough feta however there was too much tomato in big chunks, which kind of took over the plate.
Walked away very full!

Stop in for lunch. They were busy so a bit of a wait to take our order. The drinks came and we were finish before our food came. The cappuccino was lovely creamy and frothy just how I like it.
I had the crispy fried eggs. Which was delicious. I loved the tomato relish. The Turkish bread was crispy. A bit hard to cut with a normal knife, could have done with a sharp knife.
The staff were friendly. Thanks guys for a lovely lunch.

After checking out from Season of Mists in Blackheath, I was looking for a breakfast to energise for the horrendous rain, fog and truck weather conditions that would greet me on the drive back to Canberra. I actually wanted to try Anonymous cafe in Blackheath but it was unfortunately closed on Tuesdays for some reason. Hence the drive to Leura where I had noticed a couple of cafes the afternoon before.
Visited this place a number of times, reasonable, service good. The food is good quality and fresh. Menu not so inspiring, but good choice.
The coffee is very good quality, made by someone that gets it

We're going back tomorrow and the next day. Why? Because they had such an amazing menu, we couldn't choose what we wanted. So we're coming back every day of our little holiday up here in Leura.
My toasted sandwich was no ordinary toasted sandwich. It arrived with pesto, roasted pumpkin, caramelised onions & ricotta cheese & made to perfection with salad. My partner's chicken & leak pie was to die for, along with mash potatoes & a fresh salad. Great coffee...almond & strong!
They are obviously very well known for their food & service, packed & yet everyone was happy & there was no wait. Well done.....and See you tomorrow.....yum!!!
Go here if you are in Leura! It is my favourite cafe there by far. Every lunch I've eaten here has been delicious, especially after a morning hike! The chestnut, rosemary and honey slice is absolutely to-die-for, and if there is a batch on the counter don't think twice about ordering it.. every mouthful makes me so happy.
We stopped in for coffees and breakfast upon the recommendation of our AirBnb host. The service was quick and friendly and my coffee came in no time. The coffee and the food was yummy. This was made all the better because we had some modifications to the menu and they were all honoured. Portions are also generous- especially the egg and bacon baguette. Definitely recommend!
Unfortunately didn't have the time to eat here, but if the coffee is anything to go by, then you're in for a treat. Stepping through the old screen door and the iconic red front door, you feel as though you're being welcomed into some bodies house. A very homely feel, and a great people watching spot, if you can manage to get a window seat.

If you don't let the filthy tablecloths and glasses ruin your appetite, The Red Door Cafe actually serves some really lovely food.
I'm not sure what it is with country cafes, but cleanliness of cutlery/glasses and tables doesn't seem to be a priority. It's not exactly a deal breaker, but when you turn the table cloth over yourself to notice an even larger stain and remnants of food, it's not the most pleasant welcoming. Nor are the milky substance stained glasses that give you no choice to drink out of the bottle. Like I said though, this isn't fine dining so you have to not let it get to you. If this is possible, The Red Door Cafe has some really lovely food. The standouts from our table were probably the oats from the all day breakfast menu (something handy to keep in mind), and the sirloin steak sandwich. Both were very tasty and generous in proportion without being excessive. The specials board had some interesting dishes too so be sure to check it out.
We sat outside which was nice on a sunny day. Service was friendly enough and prices ok considering. We'll probably be back in the future. Quite possibly with our own tableware.
Simple food that tastes great and fantastic coffee. This place is always bustling and everyte I've had to jump at the game of getting a table. If you're heading to the mountains for a walk it's a must. The French toast is sweet and crispy made with croissant (unfortunately I haven't got a photo) but the scrambled eggs are smooth and creamy too.
I've always found the service here to be pretty speedy. The coffee is good, and the menu is consistently great too. Creative and cosy. Popular with the locals
We started off with the crispy fried eggs served with tomato relish and dukkah on a Turkish toast. Dukkah was a versatile mixture of roasted nuts, seeds and spices and when blended with the free-lowing egg yolk and sweet tomato relish, the end result was a great dish with amazing flavours bursting in your mouth. The omelette was packed with prosciutto, potato, rosemary, marinated feta and radicchio. The toast was crisp and crunchy too. The pie was really delicious, the pastry flaky and buttery, and the creamy chicken and leek filling was just the ticket for a cold winters day. I was a bit confused by the Tomato Chutney however - I think it would work better with a red-meat pie in a gravy, rather than the delicate and creamy flavours of the chicken pie. The Boy happily ate the chutney with his bacon and said it worked well.

Had zhuccini fritters with salad and my husband had the Tuscan sausages with mash and red wine jus. Both had cold drip coffee with aromatic syrup. All very yummy, was happy with it all.

Loved it, just a bit crowded on a sunday. Came here looking for some all day breakfast and we werent disapointed. staff were helpful and polite, though forgot to bring us the water we asked for.
the place was impossibly crowded though but it was midday sunday and it looked like the usual after church crowd acting like they owned the place (big group, loud, kind of annoying)
we were seated along the wall near the register at a tiny for two table that barely fit our drinks and plates... was not our favourite place to sit. but like i said above, there was a big group of people who were hanging around for ages but not ordering much.
funny story of our experience there:
when a women and her friend decided to bring all 50 of their kids combined with their dripping cornetto's in (exageration) to order one hot chocolate, a staff member politely asked if it were possible for them to wait outside and was rudely responded to with some passive aggressive bs about her being a customer and do they not want her to buy food from her (its one hot chocolate lady, im sure the business will survive)
Great breakfast! The French toast is done on a croissant - not for the feint-hearted but so worth it!
The 5 professionals arrived on the recommendation of a local looking for a hearty breakfast and were not disappointed. Reminiscent of Goldilocks, a large bowl of porridge arrived with rubarb and cinamon sugar - a very generous portion which was enough to be shared amongst the 5 of us. Coffee was excellent. After the porridge starter, we had french toast, omelettes,fried eggs and poached eggs - all generous and very yummy. Service was friendly and efiicient. A cosy little place worth arriving with an empty tank to make the most of all that is on offer.

Had breakfast here. Tidy black and red decor. Well-lit with natural light. Spacious. Stayed about half full of patrons (many of them locals) throughout our meal. Very friendly and courteous staff. Delicious food (poached eggs and pesto/mushrooms; poached eggs, haloumi and house chutney). Gluten free bread available. Only disappointment was the coffee, which was overroasted.
I would happily eat here again. Highly recommended.

Red Door and More. Had a fabulous breakfast on a cold and chilly morning. I had the simple yet delicious tomatoes and feta on toast (classic combination done to perfection) and my friend had the egg and bacon baguette. The baguette was incredible and I could not help but steal some of the bread off of the plate as it was so crunchy on the outside! Coffees were great and when we asked where the local mountain bike tracks were the staff were only too happy to give us an excellent run down. great food, great coffee and the knowledge of a tourist bureau!

Fabulous coffee, very sweet without added sugar and a caramel overtones. The eggs were poached to perfection, with buttered Turkish Bread and crispy bacon. Our server was very attentive, I would definitely recommend stopping in for a bite to eat or even just a coffee!
Lovely location on Leura's tree lined main Street. Attentive friendly service. The Red Door had lovely smooth coffee. My partner had the crispy egg with Dukkah and tomato relish breakfast which he really enjoyed. My Spanish Omelette was overdone and lacked flavour and ingredients. I would still recommend this quaint little cafe with the court yard attached.
Really enjoyed our meal here. The banana bread was really good though a little on the pricey side for $9 a piece. Grilled polenta with pesto mushrooms were delicious, would highly recommend.
Came to the BM with my hubby for his bday weekend. We chose the Red Door Cafe for brunch/lunch. Loved the courtyard seating on a beautiful sunny spring day. The food we chose was really good. The hot drinks was hot and had perfect texture. We could taste the nuance of flavours and the herbs used in the dishes. Service was emaculate. Thank you! Please stay in service forever xx
From a tourist's perspective! I chanced upon it whilr looking for Josophan's fine chocolate and I learned from experience, most of the restaurants are closed on tues in the blue mountain's area and this is one of the rare few that's opened. The menu has variety and looks more well crafted than the usual cafes. My partner and I had 2 mains- scrambled egg specials (cant remember the name but it contains chorizo, onions, potatos) with sour dough and a Pesto mushroom with grilled polentas. Firstly, the portion is huge. We were starving but yet, almost couldnt finish everything but since the food is really great, we managed every last spoonful of it. They serve really decent coffee too, our combination was ice latte with oat milk, add a shot. Go try it, it will perk u up in an instant. :)
Cosy cafe, they tried to offer us seats on the verandah (no heaters...no thanks) however we scored the last bar tab looking out onto the street which was perfect for people watching. Good coffee, we enjoyed the soups of the day. Good bathroom though the hand basin only has cold water brrrrr.
Would consider returning when in the area again.
