Review Leura Chinese Restaurant - Leura

We will not come back! The owners need to seriously re-think their business strategy as it is inexusable to accept a reservation and not being able to serve food in reasonable time. The appetisers arrived 1 hour after we sat down and ordered. It took them 1 hour to produce two dim sim orders! We had to wait another 1 hour for our main courses, with dishes arriving in 15 minute sequals. My main course arrived 2 hours and 15 minutes after I ordered! When we complained the hostes who was also the weitress and kitchen help, she explained that it's not their fault that they are busy as they received too many take away orders! What was supposed to be a nice family dinner ended up being a total joke with the kids being hungry, waiting for a couple of hours to get fed in a restaurant that wasn't even full! To make it even a bigger joke, they charged us for the take away containers!

We have been looking for an authentic, good value for money and great Chinese food restaurant in the Blue Mountains for quite awhile. The for was sublime, there service excellent and the prices were reasonable. This is definitely going to be our local restaurant from now on.

What a lovely little Chinese restaurant , 2 lunch specials and a bottle of NZ Sauvignon for a bargain price of $45. My wife loved her Sweet and Sour Pork and the Chilli chicken was awesome, spicy but very tasty. Loved this place and Shirley the owner was lovely to talk to and very friendly lady, in business for 27 years and I can understand why, do yourself a favour and try this lovely little place.

Great little Chinese restaurant. The fried rice captures the wok chi that you don't get in most Chinese restaurants. Lemon chicken was fresh and just the right amount of sweet and sour. Chicken was juicy and not oily. Great price and very friendly service.

This place is its own worst enemy. I did get my entree which was very nice, but I sat for over an hour waiting for it watching take out customers ordering and then leaving with their meals over and over. I waited another half hour after being given my entree and being told my meal was on its way but I've just given up after an hour and 40 mins of waiting and left to go somewhere else. I appreciate its post Covid and the staff were very stressed and rushing but I did not appreciate being told my meal was on the way when a half hour later they still hadn't even started cooking it. This was especially galling as the take out orders were all pushed ahead of mine.

We were having a meander through Leura Village a couple of weeks back - cool, damp, and then we saw the Leura Chinese and thought - lunch special? - Why not! We were transported back in time to the traditional Cantonese chinese restaurants of the 1980s. The lunch is $12.50 to eat in - with a good choice of meals and either fried rice or steamed rice. The fried rice was sooooo good - I would have been happy just with that. We had a chicken curry and a beef and black bean. Both yummy. Aside from anything else, if you’re on a budget and just want something hot, warming and savoury, with friendly service - you can’t beat $25 for two people. This would just about cover one main course in any of Leura’s other cafes or restaurants. It’s another cool day here in the mountains and the temperature is aiming for 13 degrees. We’re off to Leura for a stroll and definitely - lunch!

What a fantastic find after a 5 hour hike. Don’t be fooled by the simple decor - this place is awesome. Service was excellent. Food fresh and delicious. Chinese done very very well - and exceptional value. I had a lunch special which was only 12.50. The fried rice was a standout. Smoky flavours and made fresh to order. Yum!

Great "Australian style" Chinese, no frills. This restaurant serves "old school" Australian style Chinese that is tasty and reasonably priced. The service was quick and efficient.
The food was good especially old favorites like spring rolls and fried ice cream.
We were seated, served, fed and back out the door in under 50 mins, and it was quite busy so we were happy.
If you are after fine dining go somewhere else, but if you just want a simple, quick meal this place is good.

Good tasting old school Chinese restaurant. Lots of the old favourites and classics. Reasonably priced and friendly owners. Great Friday night takeaway option.
