Second time at hanabi and experience was about the same as the first. Came to hanabi on a Wednesday night around 7pm and was packed but got a table for 2 straight away. Took a couple of minutes to be noticed by staff to get a table though.
Ordered the wagyu oyster blade (10/10), pork intestine (8/10), egg casserole (9/10) & seafood pancake (9/10).
The meat was fresh and came out quickly, the wagyu was to die for and super tender, first time trying pork intestine and it was an interesting experience I was ok with the taste (tastes like pork fat) but it does have a gamey smell/taste to it.
The egg casserole and seafood pancake were great! Be mindful that the cooked food items do take a while to come out. I just wished they cut the seafood pancake into slices for us.
Staff are super friendly but need to be more attentive. Atmosphere is great but a little cramped. Overall a consistent and wonderful experience ☺️
Very casual setting at the back which is nice. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was fair priced and good quality. Pork belly is a must try!
My bf and I went to eat here last Thursday and we ordered the cheesepong. We are both cheese lovers and it didnt disappoint. It was really good! The staff was very helpful too and helped us mix the meat and veggies (first time in a korean bbq resto lol). Will def come again! 😁
The quality of the meat here is so fresh! We also ordered the fried chicken and chips when we visited, it's mediocre but the kbqq meat was definitely memorable! We had to wait a little for a table since it was busy but it was a bustling atomsphere, great for casual dinners and drinks
This place has been in my local for many years and would be a hit n miss for me. But now it's food and value has definitely impressed me which I'm guessing is due to different management. I'm glad this place is still around.
Amazing food that is good to share with a group of friends during a night out. Great place for kbbq with good tasting meats and generous servings to share. This place is perfect to visit if you can not be bothered driving to Stratty.

I loved the food here everything is extremely delicious, the staff and employees are all nice and friendly, i once asked them to get me get mayonnaise they tried their best to give me what i wanted, this place is lovely.
Always loved coming here with a large group of friends, it’s definitely great for sharing. The staff try their best to cater to all your needs, especially when they’re busy with large amounts of large bookings all the time. The quality of the food is amazing!!!

If you’re eating at Hanabi, the infamous cheese pong is worth a try. It’s something a little bit different than what you would find at another KBBQ place. The quality of the wagyu was good. Soft, lean meats cuts. Highly recommendable.
We really enjoyed the cheese pong! We ordered the pork belly and baby octopus and seafood pancake. Great to share among the three of us! We had fried rice after we finished the pork and baby octopus. Great ambience and great service! Wish they had better side dishes.
This place is pretty crowded, but we managed to get a table at the courtyard. We really love the cheese pong, but be warned that it’s huge! It could serve at least 3 adults. The fried chicken is a must order as well. Fast and efficient service. Great place for great food!
by far this is the best BBQ restaurant in all of australia. meat quality is amazing and the casual and laid back atmosphere is fun, also staff are very good. overall a great experience and offers an atmosphere similar to a casual bbq place in seoul (something bbq restaurants outside of korea rarely offer).
Came here on a Friday night with friends and it was a very nice experience. We booked earlier and thank goodness because it was absolutely full! The meat was good. The chilli chicken cheese we struggled finishing as it was very spicy but very yum.
Service here was nice and all waiters/staff were quick to bring us anything we asked for.
The service is really good and i love the food. I ordered a cheese thong with pork and octopus, and it comes with melted cheese, corn cheese and steamed egg in the side. Overall, it is a nice dining experience ✌️
Super friendly service and delicious food! The cheese pong is absolutely mouth watering, with a little spice and a whole lot of flavour 🤤. The wagyu platter was delicious, with good quality meat which is always important when having kbbq. The pork belly is also super juicy and a must have!
Sat at the back since it was very popular on a cold night. Ordered alot of things that night so I don't remember much, all i remember was the pancake, the cheesy corn with the octopus in it, and man I hit the spot. Also, mixing it with Western food such as the chips with its three different sauces. Would love to come back and try different things!

I ordered the wagyu set, the cheese platter, the sweet fried chicken (which comes with 3 DIFFERENT sauces and chips) and that's pretty much it but wow I would recommend it to everyone

My favourite KBBQ spot! Staff and manager are especially friendly and welcoming. Meat and food are fresh and delicious. They’re constantly busy do fo make sure you book a table especially for a large group!
Very good restauarant for korean bbq. They have a shaded outdoor seating area with circular metal tables. Meat is good quality. Also the spicy chicken stir fry w pork belly and octopus is delicious. The egg soup and cheese corn cooking on the edges is wonderful to dip the meats in. I’d recommend ordering rice to mix into the middle near the end of your meal.

Have tried both the outdoor kbbq and inside where its more korean cuisine. Would definitely recommend the kbbq. The portions are good and the meats are tasty. The service is abit lackluster when it gets busy, but would come back.

Ordered seafood tofu stew, taste was the standard Korean food in Australia (meaning not many, if any professional Korean chefs in Australia, Korean restaurants are pretty much run by families who are jumping on the 'Korean wave' with no cooking skills hence you see alot of Korean bbqs pop up everywhere because it doesn't require cooking and stews contain that magical ingredient msg). Three banchan, kimchi, pickled radish (which I looooved) and mash potato.
The service was up and down. We arrived towards the end of service and the girl who served us looked worn out. I was a little upset at first by her bushpig demeanour but realised she's probably a Fob getting underpaid cash in hand $10 an hour. It was sad to think this was most likely the case. So, instead, I turned my frown upside down and gave her a smile and respect at our next encounters. Although it wasn't a 180 degrees turn around in her general state of sadness, I could tell she felt a little better inside. I wanted to leave her a tip of $100 to ease her pain and suffering but didn't have the cash on me and I didn't want to process the tip through the Eftpos machine because im pretty sure the owners would have kept it (Having said this, I have no proof these fobs are getting underpaid by THIS particular restaurant. All speculation. But during my uni days looking for part time jobs I have experience and seen fobs getting exploited.)
Like I said before the seafood tofu stew was on par in terms of the Australian Korean food standard (msg).
Great place for KBBQ. This place gets quite busy at night and they don't take reservations so make sure you get in earlier or you may have to wait. The meat here was good and marinated well. There wasn't a lot of variety in side dishes. The atmosphere at the back takes you to Korea. Outdoor vibe and hustle of everyone there made the experience better
Ok let me start by saying the food is exepctionally tasty, and the meat (we ordered samgyeopsal) is more juicy and fat than other Korean restaurants I've been to. The dwenjangcjijaee (beef soup) was really flavoursome, and the best I've had. However, service is an utter disaster. Waiters and waitresses are expressionless, and dont know what they are doing half the time. Kept forgetting stuff we ordered, and had to repeat several times. Also a lot of the drinks on the menu weren't available when we went. I don't know what to think of this place quite frankly, love- hate.
The restaurant is split into two sections - an indoor eating area and an outdoor Korean BBQ area. The outdoor area is great for big groups and is more social, however when I went there were alot of people smoking. Having eaten in both I would say I prefer the indoor area more , even though there's no BBQ, just because it's clean and more table space. The food is great but one of the more expensive Korean food in the area.
Food: Delicious korean food. Loved their cheese pong and KFC plus their cheese fries.

This place is great! The food is so good, I highly recommend the chicken and chips platter. The sauce options that come out with the chicken and chips are sooooo delicious. 10/10 for the wasabi mayonnaise. The atmosphere of Hanabi is loud and exciting, it reminds me of Asia. Service is great, the manager I believe is so adorable, she mixes our sojus everytime. Platters of meat here can be expensive, take yourself and your friends here for an enjoyable night.

Cheap, tasty and healthy.. their korean Seafood pancake is crispy and their pork belly and squid chilli stir fried in stone PAN is a must.. WITh Cheese on the other side..

The last time I came here on a Friday night the restaurant was booked out. But this time, the chilli chicken and cheese was the prime reason why we came here and it did not disappoint. Eating the stir fry with the melted cheese was amazing. However, the only difficult thing was that it took awhile for the chicken to cook and we were all so hungry so we had to wait a fair bit until the chicken wasn't raw. The sides, dumplings and bibimbap were also very delicious. Would recommend this place for their chilli chicken. Will definitely come back to try their BBQ next time.
Hanabi is a hidden little gem in Lidcombe. It only caught my interest recently with their new renovations which lead me to discover that out the back they have a large Korean bbq area! My friends and I came here for the spicy chicken & cheese hotplate which did not disappoint!! We also ordered KBBQ meats and spicy cold noodles which were also both very fresh and good. The staff are friendly and the vibe here is great. It's a little pricey but I still very much recommend it!
Had to visit this place after seeing heaps of pics of the famous chicken and cheese hotplate dish. And it looked as good as it tasted!! The side dishes were also very nice I couldn't stop getting seconds .. Or thirds .. Or forths, haha! I was a bit iffy with getting the spicy chicken as I can't handle chilli but they reduced the spiciness down for me which was really good. Also it comes raw and covered in red sauce so I was a bit cautious on when and how long till it was cooked, but they checked for me.. But other than that it was pretty delicious and the cheese is to die for. I have to come back try their KBBQ because it smelt amazing!
Good chicken, good tap beer! Pricey for it's portions though. Love the pork&spicy calamari &cheese hot plate too. Back part of the restaurant is smoky and bbq-y but front part is more quiet and good for a catch up

Korean bbq is a very delicious and fun experience but generally people like to stick to their usual cuts of meat like galbi, jumuluk or ssamgyupsul 😜
If you want a bit more excitement with Korean bbq, I recommend you try some crazy cuts of meat like the beef intestines and some spicy pork rind. There are many hidden gems of flavour in these unconventional cuts and they're super delicious! You must also order some Soju and Korean beer on the side!
Front section is now renovated with added new menu with chicken and tap beer. Now the action is in front section as well as in the backyard, real charcoal BBQ. Place to take that someone special for dinner in Lidcombe.

My particular stand out was the customer service!
I dropped my chopsticks which made quite a noise, my family tried to give me theirs but before long staff came over with clean ones.
During dinner I took photos of the family and staff came over offering to take a group photo for us.
It was quite busy but they didn't fail to notice us even though we couldn't speak Korean.
We were thoroughly surprised and impressed!
I remember it being quite expensive few years back. For the amount of people we had, and the quality of the food & service, not bad at all!
At first glance, the restaurant looks quite deserted and intimidating to enter. You'll probably wonder where all the BBQing happens since you can spell it from a mile away. Head straight through the hall into the back where you'll be able to see stainless steel tables occupied by local Koreans drinking soju and BBQing their meats.
A little local gem. Great Korean BBQ. Don't be deceived by the empty restaurant as all the BBQ-ing action is at the back.
I always come here with my girlfriend and our standard order is the pork belly, marinated beef ribs, wagyu thin steaks and the egg soup in the stone bowl. The wagyu is especially delicious and melts in your mouth.
The sides are refillable and atmosphere is like a mini Korea town. Be sure to wear warm clothing if you are there on a cold night.
Highly recommended.
I just wanted to have a quick beer and chicken but ended up eating a lot more. Excellent service and newly renovated place. Definately coming back with my mates.
Nice food and good surroundings. Traditional Korean fare, plus large BBQ area out back. Serving size was quite large and a great spread of complimentary Korean pickles & veg. Be prepared to work at communication, accents are strong and English is not the first language here.
Truly Korean local street style BBQ, no fancy setting, but serve absolutely good meat BBQ, recommend pork belly, they are juicy and tender.
What I wanna say is, this is absolutely one of my favorite Korean barbecue restaurants. The barbecue and cheese corn are very good!!!
