Excellent restaurant! Food is amazing, restaurant is very well presented! And manager is very friendly! He went above and beyond for us! I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to try some of the finest indian food!!
I'm not massive on curries or Indian food in general... but golly golly rogan josh did we have a good feed here on Tuesday night! Tried something from everyone's plate and it was all spot on! Hats off to the chef and staff, you've converted me!
Again we had takeaway and it’s about time I rated your food . It is always delicious and fresh .
I love going out for dinner but having your food at home feels similar.
Thank you again for yummy yummy food
This Is my families favourite Indian restaurant! The food is delicious, we have been many times and have never ordered anything we didn't enjoy. Our only regret is that we have moved out of the area. Certainly worth a visit 👍🏻😄👌
Very Good food, Great service. Naan bread cooked perfectly, fresh curries. Best restaurant so far on this side of town
Cannot fault the service or the food. Always a friendly smile.
Tonight we put our menu choice in the hands of the owner and so glad we did. Three dishes ... all very different ... all amazing.
Highly recommended.
Best Indian Restaurant, they have the yummiest food and best service, very friendly and welcoming! Highly recommend.... My partner and i try and eat here at least once a month the food is that good!
Magnificent, staff are friendly and efficient and the food is amazing and authentic, such a wonderful atmosphere, 10 stars
This restaurant certainly didn't disappoint! The food was fantastic and the staff were amazing! Will definitely be going back.

Great food, very fresh and tasty.
Love the vegan options. Delivery was pretty quick.
Only small criticism is the medium curry could be hotter.
The customer service here is amazing. True caring people which is rare to find these days. Food was great and flavour was delish. Managed to please the whole family of varying spice thresholds.
Very nice, would have given 4.5 if the beer had of been cold. We ordered momo dumplings & tandoori mushrooms & beef madras (asked them for it “hot” & the spice level was perfect). The madras was more tomato-ey than usual, but very nice all the same. The garlic naan was fluffy, loaded with garlic & delicious. Want to return in a bigger group so we can try a lot more menu options. Good attentive service, without being invasive. It is a struggle to find decent Indian food in Melbourne, but this was a good find. Look forward to trying Vindaloo & Phall!
Friendly service and an excellent selection of Indian foods. Restaurant is clean and fresh. I like my food really spicy and vindaloo is not hot enough for me so the guys at Royal Time recommended Beef Phall and it is awesome. The perfect combination of flavour and heat. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes it hot. My wife is the opposite and loves the Tandoori Platter which contains a well cooked selection on favourites from the Tandoor.
Had the vegetable jalfrezi takeaway. Was nice flavours, a bit too spicy for me but just put a bit of yogurt on and it was really good! Veggies were nice and fresh
Delicious food at a peaceful location! The food was impeccable and the staff were kind and friendly. One of the best Indian restaurants I've dined at. The food is definitely worth the price. Highly recommend!
Great Indian restaurant close to home. Staff were very friendly and helpful, food was really nice and not too expensive would have no issues going here again.

Sexooo !! Great food and place. Must try I would say. The ambiance also is good enough. Decent and affordable too. Nice pass time place with food and friends.
Appreciate the service for local delivery with a seamless online ordering process. Good local option for the outer burbs I would say.
SERVICE: 3.5/5
We have ordered from here a few times when in the area visiting friends. Each time they have been very friendly, engaging in a chit chat and also recommending different dishes based on what we feel like. The gentleman (believe he is the owner) who serves us is precise with the order always double checking he hasn't missed anything - love that because receiving a short order when I'm hungry doesn't gel.
We find delivery is a little quicker than waiting for in-store pick-up strangely. Ordering online through delivery hero / menulog etc is seamless. Usually arrives at the door ahead of ETA.
FOOD: 3.5/5
Piping hot everytime and flavours are tasty enough without being overpowering like some Indian places. There is a decent amount of meat in the biriyanis and various curries that we've tried. We also appreciate the ample vegetarian options on the menu as our friends do not eat meat. I would say though that the food is a little on the greasier side for my liking but I suppose if you want a lighter meal, one doesn't select Indian!
DECOR & AMBIENCE: 3/5
Although we've not dined in, we can see that they have made an effort in decorating the restaurant. It has a family dining feel about it and the marone tied-up curtains on the windows really do make me feel as though I'm in someone's home for dinner. The decor colours are on the darker side but maybe that's to help create some ambience for night-time diners...perhaps?
KID FRIENDLY: N/A, takeaway only
Seriously the best Indian in the area!!!! If your looking for indian you cant go wrong! Everything I have eaten there is amazing. The owners are so lovely and always remember what we order and love to chat.
Best Indian in town. Always fresh, full of flavour and delicious. Service is really good as well. Highly recommend. The garlic naan is the best
I couldn't love this place more. Service has been fantastic every time we've been. The food is always perfect and full of flavour. The wide range of items on the menu, including goat dishes, keeps us trying new things. Not necessarily cheap but worth the extra few dollars per meal due to the quality. Restaurant has a nice atmosphere and isn't too loud.
Had takeaway from here tonight. Food was really enjoyable (and delivery from menu log was prompt!). The only issue we had was that the rice was so overcooked and mushy it was almost inedible. A real shame considering everything else was tasty! Will give it another go hoping that the rice tonight was just a once off mistake :)
This is one of two Indian restaurants in Lilydale, and there is not much between them in terms of the food and the service. I have both dined in here and had food delivered (wow those delivery aps do work!). The restaurant has quite a nice interior, with various shades of red in the colour scheme, lots of downlights, and some elaborate curtains covering the glass façade. The food here is good, and of course incudes lots of vegetarian dishes. It’s one of those situations where one prefers certain dishes in one place, and some in another. I like the starters here better than their competitor, and the mains a touch less. But in each case the food is very nice. The service was welcoming, attentive and polite. And when they deliver, they arrive wearing a smart maroon blazer, and are equally as courteous. You can’t go wrong eating Indian food here - it’s worth a visit.
Stopped off here for a quick bite..had the tandoori sizzling platter..excellent! Extremely fresh and flavourful friendly attentive staff nice range of local craft & imported beers Reommended
we came in on Friday night in a group of eight , the quality of the meal was superb and very fresh. very friendly service will come again...
There was this black dude on the next table who made the experience perfect butter chicken was phenomenal aswell. The way my garlic naan complimented the butter chicken was amazing.
Great meal at royal time. This was our first time to this indian restaurant and we loved it from the moment we stepped inside .Very colourful interior and bright .Very friendly staff and so many choices in the menu. We had lamb dishes and butter chicken with garlic naan and peas rice the best ever we had , finish with coconut ice cream. I definitely can say food and service is much better and friendly here than the other Indian just down the road their food is gone down the hill .I love my Indian food definitely we will be back soon.
Our First time “Saturday" .... Our First time
“Saturday" we decided that we would try Indian cuisine for the first time. Having read the excellent reviews of Royal Time Indian Restaurant we felt sure this would be a good experience. It was better than good it was amazing, the food, the service, attention to detail and the friendly service was perfect we will certainly be back thank you ever so much for a most memorable dinning experience ”
Royal time Indian restaurant. Food in this restaurant so yammy and amazing
Very nice. Heard such positive feedback from other locals so thought we'd give it a try. The atmosphere was very nice. Staff were super friendly. Very welcoming on the phone when making the booking. Food lived up to expectations. We'll be back for sure.
Best Indian in the area, plus we live in hilly Mt Evelyn and they deliver!! Try the samosas, they're amazing, and all other items we've had have not disappointed!! Definitely a winner!!
Great Indian Dining Experience. Was in the area during the weekend with my partner and decided to visit based on Urbanspoon reviews. The atmosphere, service and food were GREAT!
The restaurant itself was clean and well-decorated, which made the experience authentic and pleasant. Unlike other Indian restaurants that play Banghra-style music, this restaurant actually plays soothing Indian music which was so much better.
The staff were friendly and attentive. Part-way through our meal, one of the staff (or possibly the owner) came to check that everything was fine. A subtle but much-appreciated gesture. The food came fast and all at the same time, another subtlety that enhanced our experience.
The complimentary papadums were good and came with a couple of dips, which were quite nice as well. We ordered the garlic naan, beef madras and lamb biryani. The garlic naan was nice and crispy but could have been a bit more garlicy. The beef madras and lamb biryani, though, were FANTASTIC! Can't quite describe it in detail but they tasted amazing and are well worth the price (The entire order cost us ~$30).
Would definitely recommend eating here if you get the chance.
Awesome! Authentic Indian. Great food, Great service. Highley recommend the Banquet, with tender Rogan Josh, Butter Chicken and of course Naan bread.
Best food this side of Mumbai. After hearing the hype build around Royal Time's new ownership and menu, I finally had the chance to make it for dinner last week. I've found really good Indian food rather hard to come by in the past, but have now found my go to spot. The menu is extensive and very reasonably priced, as are the great selection of international beers. The service and atmosphere could not have been better and of course the food was exceptional. I'm already looking forward to my next visit.
Best indian food. 2nd visit in 2 weeks. everything was amazing, the flavors and quality of food are superior to any other indian restaurant. the restaurnt has super friendly service. will be coming back again and again.
This place had recently come under new management and they have done wonders with the place. I find it hard to find good Indian food around the area, but this place has it covered. The food is fresh and the menu has a wide range of dishes. As a vegetarian I found that there was heaps of choice and I haven't been disappointed yet. Have been here a few times already and definitely recommend it to others. Good prices and nice atmosphere.
Delicious every time.... Tried the tandoori prawns to change things up; amazing!! I always look forward to coming here...
Delicious and authentic. Been here a number of times, food and service has always been really good. One of the nicest Indian restaurants I have been to and the Nepalese dishes are especially tasty. Not cheap but definitely worth the money.
Really enjoyed our meals!
Food is really good and fresh, staff and owners are friendly. Will be Back to try other dishes.
Best Indian and Nepaleae restaurant ever I meet. Food was wonderful, staff was friendly, inner atmosphere was cool with soft music and desirable place for excellent customer service and wonderful food.
Highly recommend!
Yum. This was the first time we had eaten Indian or Nepalese . It was beautiful we had 4 children with us & they were welcomed . We enjoyed 5 different mains along with 8 entrees between us they were all beautiful . The staff very nice highly recommended
