Review Bom Gosto - Lilydale

Went for breakfast on Sunday Really busy but the service was excellent! Had the 'Bom Breakfast' and Pork Bennie' Bom breakfast was a generous portion size, eggs cooked perfectly and tasted a treat The pork bennie was divine, that pork was a gastronomic delight SO TASTY! Our Vienna coffee was piping hot with a nice kick This is now our favorite cafe in Lilydale

Been coming to Bom Gusto for years now as they never disappoint. The food is always delicious and the coffee is the best in town. Today's breakfast was classic bacon and eggs with some chosen extras.....perfection!!!

I think these guys are trying to be fancier than they really are. Parts of our food were burnt, bacon was dead cold while other items were hot. Took ages for the food to come out. Very pricy for what we ordered, and one of us left still hungry. Toast and hash brown cleverly placed burnt side down on plates. One staff member sort of polite, one was very unwelcoming. Coffee made with almond milk was great. Food and drinks placed in front of us by staff that didn't speak or make eye contact. I wanted this place to be great. Won't rush back.

Wonderful atmosphere and inside is perfectly presented to showcase who they are and what they do - and that's great food with great service! Attentive, friendly staff and really good coffee is just the start of what Bom Gosto are about, with a crafted menu that goes well beyond the standard cafe fare and an offering of beers on tap that perfectly compliment each menu item. Great experience, i will definitely be back!!!

Went there yesterday with my 82 year old mum to catch up for her birthday. Excellent coffee. Brisket burger and pork belly Pita were both delicious. Service was friendly and quick

I absolutely ADORE Bom Gosto! Their food is fantastic. The staff are amazing and the drinks are great! Everything is very reasonably priced and portioning is excellent. If I'm looking for something delicious to eat, I cannot go past their BBQ Bacon Burger and a serving of chips! The different themed dinner sessions are great and lunch and breakfast just as delicious! You should definitely visit!

Went there yesterday for breakfast, was an absolute disgrace. Ordered our meal, a coffee and a tea. The tea came out about 5 minutes before my coffee did and then after about 30 minutes with still no food we asked how much longer. We were told we would be getting our meal next. Another 15-20 minutes go by and still no food. Funny how the two young girls who came about 20 minutes after us got their meal before ours!!!!! When we went and spoke to the staff, the chef grabbed our food docket, waved it at us and gave a smart ass look. So in total, we were there about 45- 50 minutes and our food hadn’t even been started!!!! Asked for a refund and left. Won’t be returning there again. Zero star rating from me 😡😡

We went in on a Thursday night, burger night! The service from staff was excellent and the food was amazing! One of the best burgers I've ever had. The quality of food you get for the price you pay is excellent and we will definitely be visiting again. Can't wait to try their breakfast options and other dinner menu on another night. Highly recommended if you are in the Lilydale area.

Great atmosphere and awesome food! I had the pork belly pita while my son enjoyed the beef and bacon burger. Chips were perfect with homemade aioli. Nice work guys!

These guys are good, nice service, great food especially that beef brisket pida wrap daymmmm. The coffee was the best I'd had on a while too. To the people giving one star grow up this is their life and love and sometimes things aren't perfect.

Well worth the drive from other side of Melbourne. Friendly staff, fantastic service and delicuous food. Great atmosphere, cant wait to go back.

Went in for breakfast on Saturday morning, while waiting for our meals we sat watching one of the girls at front playing with her hair then handling plates of food, they where also standing talking while meals where sitting there ready to go out, on the up side our meals where delicious and meals did come out nice a fast, but was hard to enjoy the atmosphere when your workers care more about standing around chatting and playing with there hair rather then hygiene and customer service.

The food was great but unfortunately the pathetic customer service let the entire experience down. Pick up your game people!!!!!!! We were there this morning and I’m still reflecting on how bad it was, we were made to feel very unwelcome and invisible �

Our favourite cafe in town! Food and service is consistently good, Tobys Estate coffee is delicious, atmosphere is warm and relaxed. Will continue to come here and recommend :)

Drive by Lilydale, to look for a simple brunch. Looks empty when I arrive before 1pm on Sunday. Then suddenly, the crowd start pouring in. We ordered a Beef burger, pork pita and a magarita pizza. The pulled Beef burger was finished b4 I could even took a picture. Nevertheless, the slowcooked pork pita was fantastic, juicy melt in your mouth pork. The pizza can feed 2 kids. Overall, we had a good time.. A bit pricier but all good.

Been here a stack but don’t think I’ve actually been here with my brother. We don’t actually hang out that often cause he’s moved to the island but if we are ever both in the area and wanted to hang out this place would 100% be an option.

Bom Gosto is one of those unique places that makes you come back time and time again based purely on how nice the staff are. Yes I enjoy the coffee and they make a MEAN smashed pumpkin; but sometimes you just want a cafe where you don’t feel like you’re gonna be booted out because “we have bookings” 😆 Cheers guys 👌

I drink my coffee black, full stop. You can tell if a coffee is good by drinking it black, no hiding behind milk and sugar. I'm so grateful I stopped here! Was feeling peckish and tried the wrap, really yummy. 😋 I was eyeing off other peoples lunch and it all smelled/looked good. An excellent way to stop and rest on the way to Healesville. Friendly service - phone ordered cauliflower soup seriously delicious - just the thing for a chilly winter’s day - will be coming back for more.

Definitely worth a visit on your tour of Lilydale eateries. With attention to detail on the food and on the coffee, this place offers something a little different and unique in its character. So far, everything I've tried on the menu has been a winner, with no disappointments to date. So this is a big plus.

Thanks Bom Gosto for another yum brekkie! The Smashed Pumpkin is probably the best I've had and the Pork Benny is also really yum. Great flavour combinations and perfect sizing. Coffee is by Toby's Estate and is pretty good too.<br/><br/>This is one of Lilydale's best cafes in my opinion!<br/>There isn't many tables though so booking a table is probably the best way to go.

I’ve actually never eaten here but it’s my go to place for coffee in Lilydale as they use Tobys Estate Coffee. Staff are mostly friendly but should smile a little more. This place seems to have a good reputation for their food and is always busy when I drop in, hopefully one day I’ll take the time to have a bite to eat

One of the best places for pizza in Lilydale. A pretty basic setting inside but their food is definitely worth going for. They also do take away which is handy.

The food is FANTASTIC here! Their beef brisket pitta wrap is INCREDIBLE!! Really nice chips. Good coffee. And nice breakfast as well. Highly recommend this place. Fresh juices too.

Nice little place for lunch. It’s consistent for a good hearty lunch while breakfast is not as consistent. Good coffee, friendly staff and very good chips and aioli.

Loved this place. Coffee just a little burnt, but the food was fantastic - a lot of the dishes are a little different from your standard breakfasts, and full of flavour.

If I could eat their BBQ Bacon Burgers every day I seriously would... they are just sooo good! Same with their chips! Never have I ever left Bom Gosto disappointed and I have tried a bunch of things off the menu (pitas, pizza, burgers, loaded fries) and it's so nice having such a good local cafe! 💗

Simply the best burgers east of the city! The food here is amazing, the beer and wine list is short but has a great selection, the loaded fries are epic and must be tried, and the variety of offerings on different nights make this a must visit if you're in the area. definitely book for dinner! The outdoor seating is great on a warm day or evening, but they pump the heaters in winter too. Inside the décor and seating is well though out. It gets noisy during dinners service, but if you can roll with that and enjoy the vibe it's great. The coffee is usually top notch. I love the guys who work at this place, I have heard people complain about the service. I've never had a problem and if I have waited for food it's been worth it. My advice would be to just go with the flow and vibe of this great little restaurant and you'll have a great time.

Pizzas are the best in lilydale!! Light yet filling and great combo of flavours. Pumpkin pizza is delish. Would definately recommend, has something for everyone 😋

Was passing through Lilydale a while ago and decided to stop for lunch. After not being able to decide on where to go, we just said bugger it, and went here. I was blown away by the food. The burger I had was delicious! The juice and coffee was yummy too!<br/><br/>Place is kind of funky/trendy as well.<br/><br/>Hoping to come back down this way to indulge again!

When we first arrived at Bon Gusto for a casual Tuesday lunch, it was obvious that this is one of the better eateries in Lilydale. While lesser cafes were empty, Bom Gusto was packed. <br/><br/>The cafe itself is cosy and casual, with a few outdoor tables and a pleasant atmosphere. Ordering is done at the counter and service was warm and friendly.<br/><br/>Coffees were served hot and were made to perfection. Quality coffee, skilfully made.<br/><br/>The BBQ Beef Brisket Burger was a good size, although the side of chips was a little pricey at $6. However, the chips were crispy and fresh and accompanied by garlic aioli. <br/><br/>The Calabrese pizza was also quite good. Fresh flavours on a simple pizza.

Totally underrated cafe! Must have the smashed pumpkin or the smashed avo - the are both amazing with plenty of flavour and lots of topping. The staff are super chill and very friendly with a cosy little atmosphere.

Good Brunch spot in Lilydale. We came a Sunday afternoon after cherry pick up and were seated with a big table. The menu of the cafe is simple but various ranged. The burger is must to try, it is big size , tasty but really good price. The pumpkin smash reminds me of those top ones in CBD. So good to come and I do recommend

Excellent coffee and beautiful burgers. Popular restaurants were fully booked at Yarra Glen and drove to Lilydale and lucky to find the seats here. Taste of burger has touch of spice and really great for adults to visit.

Food was good. Front of house staff need to be a little more welcoming.<br/>Needs to be a table service venue. Bistro style queues need to go.<br/><br/>Coffee sits in the top 3 in Lilydale.<br/><br/>Liked their unique take on a few of their menu items.

Just an average cafe. Not a particularly inspiring menu - more an old school cafe menu with classic breakfast options. Food was fine, but nothing memorable. The coffee was fine, but nothing special. Overall, an average brunch, but much better brunch options round the corner (Hutch + Co and Round Bird Can't Fly).

One of my Lilydale faves! I often pop in for takeaway coffee and freshly made muffins, Portuguese tarts and other delectable treats. Their gourmet pizzas and wraps are fantastic; but today I am having breakfast - smashed avocado, feta & poached eggs with a cappuccino. A delicious way to start the day!

The food we had was absolutely delicious and very well priced. I will definitely be returning here again. I had the Bom Benny with pulled pork and the park was just falling apart, it was amaze.

Went here for breakfast and got the smashed avo and fetta with poached eggs and added bacon of course. Every element was cooked perfectly, the coffee was also nice. The place looses points because my Mum's dish was not very nice but I can't remember what she had as it was last month. Everyone's else had a great though so will be coming here again, hopefully for one of their burgers as I have heard mixed reviews and would like the judge for myself.

Best coffee in Lilydale by a mile at the moment and the food is really good as well. Quick service and the staff are friendly in a nice spot to relax.

Food was delicious there was a stuff up with my order, my burger was missing pickles, jalapeños and bacon as requested. I ate half of it before realising, silly me and when I questioned them they were very nice about it and sorted the problem out. Will be back for sure

Got takeaway in my lunch break here and it was the best salad I've had in a long long time :) thanks for providing vegan options guys!!! I'll definitely be back for more soon

Excellent parking options and friendly wait staff, very quick to come and collect our dishes once we finished our meal. Whilst presented beautifully, food was mediocre, I ordered the corn fritters and poached egg- very little on the plate and not filling at all. My friend ordered the pancakes which whilst presented beautifully were essentially just pancakes and fruit. This place will be a great little gem when they amend the menu.

Trendy cafe with amazing food and coffee. Only sampled the breakfast menu, but came back 3 days in a row while staying in Lillydale. Fantastic service and generous and tasty food.

Very good, had a light lunch here today and couldn't fault it. Very busy and a bit noisy, but it is that way because it is so popular. Well worth a visit.

Awesome cafe. Cannot fault the coffee. I have mine extra strong which tends to highlight faults. It was great. Staff were excellent. Happy and attentive. Had the smashed avo and poached eggs with added mushrooms. Arrived quickly with top quality ingredients. Well thought out and cooked to perfection. Highly recommended.

I love a tasty breakfast. Especially when it includes sautéed asparagus, beans and broccolini with crispy sage. It feels like a country breakfast straight from the veggie garden. I added the field mushrooms (because why wouldn't you!) and savoured the combination with a good coffee 😁

Easily the best burger in the eastern suburbs (bom burger). Great atmosphere and the staff are all really friendly. Regularly go here for lunch and dinner and have never been let down.....consistently delicious :)

Nice atmosphere, a little on the cosy side, but felt very crowded when full. 50 minute wait for granola on a Saturday morning, won't be returning.

We went here for brunch on a Sunday and it was really busy.  The service was soooooooooooooo slow!!!!!!  But when we got the food it was delicious!  Went again for lunch during the week and the service was heaps better as there weren't as many people in there eating.  The food again was delicious!!!!!!  It's a very tight squeeze in there so unless you're planning on sitting outside I wouldn't plan on taking a pram.

Wow! Ripper lunch!!. Got the woodfired lamb- YUM! Great service, welcomed us with open arms even though we didn't book and it was a Saturday and I even brought along my 4 kids, uncle, Aunty and 2 dogs!! Cant recommend enough!

Bom Gosto......what?????. I was advised to eat at this cafe because one of the worker's mother's mention that it was a fabulous new cafe that catered for vegetarian and gluten free customers. So I took my mum and four children out for lunch as a treat. Five out of six of us have Coeliac Disease so a cafe/restraunt that has gluten free food is rare. <br/>I did the right thing and booked a table the day before and mentioned that we would require gluten free pizzas.<br/><br/>What a mistake!!!! When we arrived no booking had been recorded. We were placed on a massive table. The staff were more worried about another staff member's birthday rather than the customers! We ordered a sandwich with gluten free bread and after a forty minute wait it came with the wrong bread (the waitress had forgotten to write GF bread - thank God we know what to look for). The pizzas barely had any topping and were not cooked properly.<br/>As a whole, I was so disappointed and will not advise any one to eat there. I really think they need to look after all of their customers and train the staff in correct customer service.<br/>$76 later, and very unhappy we walked out!

How can a pot of tea be so wrong??. Ordered a pot of English breakfast tea, not sure how they could get this so wrong, it's a simple case of putting some tea leaves in a pot and pouring in some hot water??? Tasted awful, was weak as anything, ended up being a cup of hot water with a dash of milk, obviously hanging back on their portions of tea leaves, such a waste of money........

The first time I came here I ordered a takeaway coffee, it was made without a shot of coffee. <br/>The second time I came I was served by a female barista who hardly spoke, didn't smile and after taking only one of the two coffee orders just walked away. Another guy came over to finish the order, he wrote it down whilst talking to the barista for a minute or two, then came back to me to finish the transaction. My coffee had a shot in it this time and was quite nice however the customer service or lack of should I say is not something I will be going back for.

Breakfast for 2 with coffee costs $45! Food is good but not outstanding.

Meat and 3 Veg WOW. After a long drive from Canberra looking for a nice place to relax and enjoy a good feed, stumbled onto "Bom Gosto" wow.<br/>Small rustic surrounds staffed by super friendly people that love what they do, this makes you want to stay just in its self.<br/>The menu while not huge is varied and unique in that it does not follow a particular theme offering something for everyone from Curry and Burgers to Steak and Pizza and Pasta.<br/>I ordered the Steak with roasted beetroot and vegetables, when asked how I wanted my steak I requested Chefs Choice, on arrival I was treated to the most mouth-wateringly tender piece of Scotch-fillet accompanied by Roasted beetroot and 4 other vegetables cooked with so much flavour that it convinced me to return for breakfast the next day.<br/>The wife ordered the Pumpkin and chilli pasta with pulled beef and was treated to a dish that while keeping the pumpkin as the hero incorporated a variety of flavours that had the palate tingling.<br/>Finishing off with a Portuguese Custard Tart (baked on the premises) for desert and some of the best coffee that side of the Dandenong's this diner went home extremely satisfied. <br/>If you live in Melbourne City and you feel like a road trip head for Bom Gosto the Friendliness, the Freshness of the food and the Talent of the Chef will definitely see your taste buds rewarded. If you go for breakfast make sure you are hungry the serves are quite substantial. <br/>Colin

We have tried dinner and breakfast here. Both amazing. Small dinner menu but unique at the same time and very delicious. Breakfast was the best I have had in a while. Very good coffee. So good to have a great cafe to go to in the area.

The food and service are the best. Such a friendly cafe with amazingly tasty yummy food! I'm always happy to catch up with friends here for lunch and a chat. The food is always fresh and delicious, the staff are attentive and friendly and D the owner is wonderful and always willing to spice things up if this is your preference. We've enjoyed a few Thursday night burger dinners and hope to try the restaurant dining on a Friday or Saturday night very soon. Keep up the great work guys and please don't change a thing!!!

Stopped by for an after work beer, sat outside, chatted with the friendly staff and enjoyed a schooner of the Bom Gosto Porter and Ale! Good job guys!

Warm, inviting, great atmosphere. Excellent coffee. We had an excellent French toast with fresh berries & eggs Benedict. Fantastic music, a great place to eat slow & relax.

Deeeeelicious!. I am so glad to have Bom Gosto so near. I have never had a burger so delicious and the staff were cool. Slightly loud background noise / we were asked to leave after about an 1hr and 45minutes to free up the table, but that's fine. I was getting bored anyway to be honest... Thanks guys! I'll be back and will stay for a reasonable amount of time!

Quality food/quality service :). Went to the cafe for lunch last week and was overwhelmed with the outstanding service provided by all the staff! It was quite a busy day but the staff kept very professional and did a great job and the food was delicious. Also loved the feel of the cafe great atmosphere with nice music playing and a modern feel about that place. Will definitely be back, thanks guys!

Really lovely! Chanced upon this cafe this morning, was able to sit comfortably outside, but still protected from the rain. Coffee was great (my flat white was actually flat) and my husband also commented how good his was. Bacon and egg sandwich sounded ordinary but was amazing! Crunchy sourdough and it got better from there. Would love to go back again, thanks guys!

I was pleasantly surprised to find a little slice of inner-city-style coffee and food in the leafy surrounds of Lilydale. Food was amazing! Try the eggs Bendict... So tasty! Great gluten free options, and the staff knew their stuff and were very friendly and welcoming. Recommended. :)

Yeah great coffee, extremely friendly, happy staff and the yummiest choc raspberry muffin just out of the oven! After several failed attempts to find a coffee shop via urbanspoon in a few different towns today, this place was quiet appreciated by two desperate coffee lovers!

Vegie and Lentil Soup. Tasty and hearty and comes with bread dripping with butter. But seems overpriced. $10 for a moderate bowl of soup!

Sickasfood. This place rocks!! Been there a few times now and it's like being in a city caf in Lilydale. The food is awesome especially the bom burger.<br/>Staff are pretty cool too and great coffee.

I had the woodfired meats on a Saturday night with a friend. Great service and awesome beers to choose from. The meal was unbelievable. Imagine your favorite meats (pork belly, beef, chorizo sausage and chicken) on one plate cooked to perfection in a woodfired oven! Nothing better in my opinion

Bom-tastic!. This is THE Thursday night family go-to for burger/drink deals. Gorgeous atmosphere. Could be sitting in a downtown Collingwood cafe, decor is brill. Love that this little gem is in Lilydale. Keep up the great simple food.

Do not recommend. The food is good, the prices are too high but you get that from a cafe such as this. From discussions with friends who have visited here frequently and from my own personal experience the kitchen staff treat customers with utter disgrace and disrespect. Should not be open for business in my opinion.

Awesome place!! Went in the other week for brekky had the smashed avo and granola and loved it! Super fresh! Went back today and had the bomburger which is the best burger ever! Hats off to all the friendly staff who were welcoming and even had enough time to come over and talk to us which was great. I will be back!

Love this place. Been here several times now, mostly with work colleagues for lunch. Staff are lovely, always accommodating, and the food is great. The bom burger and the pulled beef roll are my favourites, but everything I've had has been really nice.

Amazing coffee and great ambience!. My boyfriend and I are always looking for new cafes and just happened to drive past Bom Gosto to grab a takeaway coffee... Loved the feel inside the cafe it felt warm and inviting- reminded us of being in an inner city lane way. And the coffee was amazing! So took my parents back there on a separate day where we ordered food and coffee and the food was delicious.. Everything including all of the cakes were made fresh by the chef and the avocado and feta smash on sourdough with a poached egg was very reasonably priced and yummy. 5 stars!

Great coffee!. We stopped by for a quick coffee but after seeing the food being served, decided to order ...and we were very impressed The kitchen were happy to serve a breakfast item on request for lunch, the toasted sandwiches are huge and tasty. The staff were engaging and obviously keen to impress. All freshly made produce - can't wait to go back :)

Such a pleasant experience. My partner and some friends were in search of a place for dinner after a long tracking session in Warburton. We had a terrible experience at a very popular pizza place in Warburton where the staff had been extremely rude to us. it was a Saturday night and it was so difficult to find a place for dinner at 7:30pm. The gentleman at Bom Guosto was kind enough to accommodate us. the ambience was so cozy and homely and the food was DELISH!! I have recommended this place to my friend and will definitely return. The gourmet pizza was one of the best we’ve tasted and the Sri Lanka chicken curry was great too !!! Best wishes to the staff there

Bom Gosto is a fantastic venue which offers a unique experience which Lilydale has always lacked.. The intimacy of BG is definitely original as is the cuisine always made passionately from farm grown local produce - it never dissapoints. The atmosphere is always different and the fact that it has many loyal regulars aging from 1 to 100 is a huge part of their appeal, as well as their reasonable pricing. Complimented with exceptional waiting staff, the only thing letting them down is the attention to detail of clearing of tables, especially once diners have vacated. Still, it is a must for locals.

Came here based on the raving reviews. The food was good but I won't go as far as to say it was the best I've ever had. It was good value for money. Unfortunately, I did not feel this warm and inviting service as many of the reviewers have experience. It was average. Happy to still return though.

What a great find - Yum!!!. We were on the look out for a relaxed place to dine and above all a fresh, tasty meal. That's exactly what Bom Gusto offered. We couldn't decide between their roast veggie wood fired pizza or free range roast chicken & veggies. So their very friendly and accommodating staff allowed us to add chicken to the pizza and... the result was outstanding! Organically grown, fresh ingredients, with a delicious, home made taste - right down to a crisp side salad with a sprig of coriander. Loved the music too, added to the vibe of the place. We are making a point to return tomorrow to sample the hot chocolate, which we are assured is divine, and we are inclined to believe it.

Highly Recommend. Sunday lunch & the cafe was full. The menu gives you a great selection. I recommend the pizza. One the best I have had. A lot of their vegetables were grown by the café so you can’t get any fresher.. The staff were friendly & helpful. Will defiantly be back

Finally a good place to eat in Lilydale! I love this place! Always fresh food & the galic pizza is ammmmmazing!
