Review Bau Truong At Mounties - Liverpool

Had a family dinner and food was very well seasoned, everything was tasty and to our liking. Kudos to the hardworking chef smashing it by himself. I will definitely return because no other Vietnamese resturant can make a traditional Canh Chua that is to my liking!

I tried the fried combination noodles (rice noodles) and grilled pork chops, the latter are a staple of Vietnamese cuisine around these parts. Way too pricey for what they're worth here, though thankfully the serving sizes are decent enough to make up for the price. I've never had such bad Vietnamese food in my life - the pork chop was weirdly rubbery and tasted like petrol! The noodles were slightly better but all I could really taste was the salt. They didn't have enough "wok air", ie they weren't fragrantly stir-fried enough. I'm generally not picky about my food, and I was really hungry at the time I first tried this restaurant. Hunger is supposed to be the best spice, yet the food still tasted so terrible. I don't understand how this place is still open or how people find it to be good. The service was pretty good, but when the cashier asked me whether I wanted rice with the pork chops and I said no, she added it anyways... the rice ended up being a good option though because it made the pork chops a little more bearable. My standards are quite low when it comes to food and I'm extremely tolerant when it's bad, but even I found this place to be unbearably bad. Definitely not eating at this place again.

Have been going here for years for special occasions and to use up our Mounties points which is a plus. Although quite pricey, certain areas around our own house are around the same price so we weren't too phased. Never really had an issue however some portions could be larger. Overall we are quite happy with the food service.

Well presented food with taste to match. We came here for a nice dinner on Saturday night. I admit it was confusing at first if you are a first comer, as there is no host to welcome you in and direct you to a table, but as soon as you're seated, the service was prompt and friendly. We ordered the shared soup, salted fried rice, stir fried okra and beef cubes. All were delicious! The presentation and the aroma matched it's taste, and we (a party) of 4 could not finish it all. The location and ambience was pretty good. Can easily accommodate large parties and families, with an outside seating that has a kids play area and heaters for cold evenings. It is pricier than your average Viet food you get from Cabra and Canley, but it's justified by the size of the meals and the restaurant facilities.

Disgrace They try to make it like mac donalds. In other vietnamese restaurant the food cheaper and service is x2 better. I have to get up and get my self spoons and forks. I had rice and usually vietnamese restaurant would give you soup that comes with it. Bottom line I think its not worth eating there again.

One of my favourite Vietnamese restaurants in Sydney!

Hidden in Mounties RSL Club, this little gem offers amazing quality food all around. My personal favourites are the salt and pepper squid, diced beef cubes (bo luc lac), and can chua ca.

Great outdoor dining area available with TVs and with plenty of outdoor heating available.

Food has been alright but I've had better! :)
Pretty convenient that it's located in mounties and you can easily access other facilities inside there.

Regular customer and love the decor of the place. Great Vietnamese food with decent sized portions. Alot of space for family dining and convenient location

Cashier was very rude and aggressive, didn't seem like he was having a good day. He brought that answer upon us, and we felt very violated by that. Food was quite decent however, wait time was standard, but prices are a bit steep. Would rather go to buffet than Bau Truong at Mounties though...not worth the poor service experienced there.

Worst customer service ever. Food is standard, prices are quite excessive. Would not be coming back again, prefer to go to the Cabramatta Branch where the cashier is much nicer.

Our favourite Vietnamese restaurant! We eat here with our Vietnamese friends and they say it's authentic!

The food here is always delicious and fresh and they have so many friendly faces working here!
Decor here is really pretty to, especially with the revamp of Mounties!

Our favourite is the Pork Chop with rice - so good!

The food was ok not as nice as other Bau Truong but the customer service of the waiting at the counter was shocking. Very rude n feel like I'm asking her for free food. Sorry it's just poor Service there.

Details Written by Alice Published: 17 November 2014 Restaurant Vietnamese Mounties Mount Pritchard From the gorgeous, patterned slate tiles, to the delicately painted roses on the chairs, the soft finishing touches that adorn Bau Truong are what culminate to create the warm, inviting atmosphere of Mounties brand spanking new Vietnamese eating spot. But it’s not just the elegant interiors that make Bau Truong at Mounties worth visiting. The food is quite frankly, phenomenal.

Underwhelming service. I have been to Bau Truong several times in Cabramatta but wanted to try out their new franchise in Mounties. Big mistake! Not being an existing member of Marconi, I had to become one to enter the premises ($6/yr). However when I went to order the meals from the counter, the waitress tried swiping my card but told me it didn't work for her to apply the discount. No attempt was made to fix this problem (albeit a brief "phone call" to reception) and I was only asked "if it was okay?" by the waitress to go ahead with the higher pricing. I'm extremely disappointed by the lack of enthusiasm to make amends by the restaurant staff as you would expect from other places. Will not be returning.
