Wanted to come here for a while.
We were lucky enough to get a table at the second seating 810.
Staff were attentive and explained that the items on the menu was street style share food.
We ordered 4 different dishes and oh my the food didn’t disappoint Flavoursome - nicely presented and served in a timely manner. Our favourite for the night was the meatballs mmm mmm and of course the margarita and sangria.

Best Mexican in NSW - even beats Syd Mexican restaurants. Food is amazingly delicious and staff are amazing. Need to book in advance but definitely worth going there each time.
Went here for my birthday dinner, great fresh tasty food friendly staff and a decent selection of imported beer.
Loved this place !! Food was yummy great vibe !! Will be back Xx we had the set menu which was good but we wouldn't have minded being able to add a few extras ( corn chips etc ) but other then that was great can't wait to come on a date night and order off the menu !!

Had a beautiful dinner there last night with my daughter. Sat outside & the fusion of flavours were perfect. Very friendly staff helping us choose the right foods from the menu. It was delicious.
Everything was fresh and incredibly tasty. Lauren and team are efficient, friendly and helpful. Plenty of vegetarian options are on offer, highlights were the grilled corn with chipotle aioli and the chickpea tacos. Food was so delicious, my new favourite place to eat on the coast.
The best Mexican Tapas ever! Great vibe and the owners and staff are so friendly and welcoming. The flavours in the food are incredible and presentation is 10/10!!

I actually think this is a great idea with large groups.
The food was fantastic and plentiful and the service was great.

This is the third time eating here. We had the set menu this time and weren't disappointed. Such a good mix of flavours, spices and mexican tastes. Everything is presented well and the staff are excellent. Thanks guys for another great night.

Doesn't look like much on the outside but what a jewel this place is...Hernando's Hideaway manages to create a dimly lit but festive cantina atmosphere that transports you to Mexico and the hope of something a bit special.
The wait staff were friendly and explained the tapas style sharing philosophy of the restaurant.
This is not your Aussie Tex-Mex, Ol' El Paso style restaurant. This is a truly Mexican inspired eatery that delivers mouth-watering flavour-bombs that just deliver a festiva in your mouth.
We shared a chorizo plate, sweet spicy chicken quesadilla, pulled pork empanadas and stuffed rellenos pepper.
Every plate was perfect and the stuffed pepper was an absolute stand-out. The flavours were both complex and simple...subtle and in-your-face...all at the same time.
Accompanied with a Pacifico cerveza followed by a Stubborn Mule cocktail (Margherita with jalapeno), we left this this meal perfectly full and totally satisfied. I would have loved to try everything on the menu.
The menu itself had a wide range of options to suit all budgets and all appetites.
What a gem...My only hope is that they pack up and move to where I live. I'd be an instant regular.
Lovely little Mexican restaurant with great ambience. We really enjoyed the corn, fish tacos , guacamole and taquitos. Great flavours and quick service since we were there early on not too busy Thursday night. While there is no kids menu per say and they don’t offer substitutions, there are a few options for the kids that the waitress offered. It’s essentially menu versions without the spicy bits. the kids loved the “kids rice “ so much they had two serves and they are most of our corn chips ( warning: they came sprinkled with chilli flakes so if you are ordering the corn chips to share I suggest you ask for no chilli flakes) . The sangria was rather yummy too. We had the churros for dessert which were crispy but a little disappointingly hollow and oily. Loved the tres leches sauce but it was mixed in and overpowered by the chocolate sauce which was a bit of a shame. Overall a delicious dinner I’d happily return to without leaving room for dessert.
Amazing food. Had the ceviche white fish and cumin coffee lamb. Ended with the churros for dessert. All dishes were so delicious, tasted fresh and the service was extremely friendly. Would highly recommend!
This is my favourite restaurant... The food, the ambience, the service everything is 5/5 but the desserts are a 10/5...
Every time I am compelled to order everything on the dessert menu and every dish is just amazing. Personal favourite is the chocolate chipotle cake.
The entire dining experience was excellent. Waitstaff explained the tapas menu and asked about our tolerance for hot/spicy food. We were given enough time to look over the menu. The margaritas were good, they did not scrimp on the alcohol. We enjoyed the patatas bravas, nachos with pulled pork, carne asado steak, and coffee creme caramel! All so delicious! Will definitely be back.
Fantastic foods! Carne Cocida is highly recommended! The beef is so tender that melts in my mouth. Big love! Tacos is very Mexico. I will come again with my family.
Have been here three times now, just make sure you book ahead as this spot is very popular. The staff here at Hernando's are great and the food here is the best I have had on the central coast and the greatest tasting Mexican ever, love this place!!
Food was amazing and service was great, cost was reasonable, will definitely go there again when we are in the area on holidays. Make sure you leave room for desert it was spectacular.
Absolutely stellar. We had a terrific meal that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone. I think if we returned (which we, no doubt will) this place will easily earn a full 5 star review from us, however, this time around, despite the food being on point and the service being fantastic and fast, I'm forced to deduct one point because they mishandled (completely forgot) to reserve a table for us (despite having booked well in advance). Consequently we had to sit outside on an open (unreserved table) with the passing traffic which put a bit of a sour taste in our mouths from the start. But let me also add, had that not happened they would have definitely aced this review because all other aspects of the evening were perfect (from food to service).
Visited the new location at Long Jetty tonight and it was a wonderful experience! Well looked after with friendly service, and delicious food for our bellies. We had the stuffed red pepper dish, 2 servings of the spicy chicken wings, chicken nachos, braised beef fajitas and a simple corn chip & guacamole dish.. I couldn't fault any of these and would highly recommend a visit!
AMAZING. Great service from the first step you take in the door. Beautiful set up and vibe. Food was so delicious! Highly recommend the Corn Cobs and Fajitas!!! Responsibly priced and lots of Gluten free food available!!! Dessert is a must.
The modern Mexican cuisine served in this quirky converted old corner shop is flavoursome, original and extremely good. The organization of the front of house staff sadly does not match their food. We had the temerity to arrive 15 minutes before they opened and had we told them we had Ebola might have been treated slightly better. We also saw them turn away 2 groups of 4 people without reservations when they were half full with reserved tables for 1pm - the groups were there at 11.30 - surely they could have accommodated them both in that time... Sort it out and you'll have a real bustling little eatery there
Amazing Mexican. A real gem of a place during our stay in the Central Coast. Very cute and hidden away from the main Entrance eateries. The food was amazing and the staff friendly. The tacos were genuine home made delights and full of flavour as was the chicken quesadilla. I'll definitely come back to try the other tasty sounding dishes on menu.
Lovely place to eat. Spent the weekend with my parents up at the entrance and decided to go here for lunch today (16/11/14) - had a really good time! Nice decor and atmosphere, attentive staff and most importantly great food! SO fresh and super yum. Will definitely pop by whenever I'm back in the area.
Came down Boxing Day for some breakfast- what a lovely little cafe! We started with a (proper) latte and cap followed by avocado on toast and bacon and egg roll, then shared a (delicious) mango and coconut smoothie. Very nice and fresh. Great start to the day. Will definitely be a regular at this new little spot.

This place gets a rare thumbs up from my husband. I too was very pleased with my meal. They even catered for my annoying veganism by offering to slightly modify almost any of the vegetarian menu items. This equated to a vegan smorgasbord. I was spoilt for choice. Among other things we had the house made tortilla chips with guacamole. Yum. My husband enjoyed the meatballs for main and he absolutely loved it. My chickpea tacos were absolutely lovely.
The only downside to good food is that it doesn't happen quickly. Make sure you set aside plenty of time to enjoy a relaxed evening here.

Amazing food!! The staff were exceptional, they went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with our meals and the flavours were so good. I’ve tasted Mexican food before but nothing compares to Hernandos. I did book our table beforehand because I often drive past and see how packed/busy they are. Thanks so much for excellent food and service and we will definitely be back again.
Loved it! Some of the best Mexican I've had on the coast. And the Margaritas by the way were perfect and consistent. The staff were attentive and looked after us very well. We will visit again. Thanks for making my 46th birthday a memorable one

I saw this place when driving into town and decided to spontaneously drop in for a feed with my partner and I’ve just got to say, I’m so glad that we did!
This place serves literally the best Mexican food I’ve ever had (I’ve been to a lot too)! I highly recommend trying the Guacamole and the Chickpea Tacos - you won’t be disappointed!
I also just want to say a big THANK YOU to the staff working there too, you guys are awesome! We can’t wait to return! X
