Review The Woolshed Restaurant - Longreach

We booked a 10 person site and there was only 6 of us (should be plenty of room right?) Put on our booking twice that we had 3 cars coming. When we got there after travelling 12 hours from Brisbane the lady on the front desk told us that the spot we booked wouldn’t fit all 3 cars and was only able to fit 2 because of the slab(3even tho what we booked specifically said no slab was on the camp site). She got the manager who was completely un helpful and pretty much told us it was our fault because we booked on the website and the website isn’t accurate and that we should have called to make the booking? Why have a website then? They would have seen our booking, we were clear that there were 3 cars and had the contact number of each person staying and NO ONE called us to tell us this before we got there. We were told that because we were in rooftop tents that we could fit all the cars side by side but it would be squishy and there would be no room for coverage or anywhere to put our chairs so we’d have to sit in our tents. We asked what they could do for us and they pretty much said nothing. We suggested that they update their website and then told us that they can’t because they just spent $3mil on the park upgrades?? We asked how we should have booked it and we’re told that if we wanted enough room to fit everyone we should have booked 3 sites and that because there are 10 seats in 2 cars that we could have all fit in 2 cars….We asked for a refund as there was no way we were staying there and the manager said ‘ugh we’ll we don’t usually but I guess so’ asked her where the free camps were and she said she didn’t know and that she hoped it didn’t rain because they would be busy and we may not have room for an awning at the free camp, but had earlier given us an area where if it rained we wouldn’t have any room for that anyway. Incredibly rude staff, incredibly unprofessional response, incredibly disappointing experience. Try to support a ‘small town business’ and get treated like the dirt on her shoe. FYI to anyone reading, the free camps were AMAZING, some of the best we have been to! Check them out before you waste your hard earned money!!

We stayed in a cabin which was new. Awesome showers and very comfortable bed. The South Africa cleaner and her partner were fantastic and do a fantastic job, could not fault it. A bit expensive for what it is though.

Now this is everything a caravan park should be. Roomy sites, concrete slabs, a camp kitchen that is close to perfect, and friendly welcoming hosts. Excellent pricing too. Amenities are clean, tidy and great condition. Pet friendly too. So good we stayed an extra night.

Hard place to rate, got good and not so good, updated/renovated cabins and friendly staff, but more thought needs to go into the upgrade/renovations, example is nowhere to hang the tea towel, only one towel rail in the bathroom, plus a hook near the door, so nowhere to hang the hand towel or second bath towel, cabin was supposed to be fully self contained but isn't, has a stove top a pot and frypan, plus a mix of cutely. Staff as I said are friendly but asked for a plug for the kitchen sink and was told someone from maintenance would come but the never did.

Excellent park, very big but plenty of space. Good clean amenities. Very handy to Qantas museum and Stockmans Hall of Fame and not too far from town. Slab sites are best as they appear newer, and bigger.

Very large and crowded park, with not enough thought gone in to the amenity of the place. Drive through sites would improve the traffic flow, as people struggle to get in/out while people parked their vans. There was no grass or anything to break up the endless red dirt when we were there, and very few amenities for kids (other than a pool, which was too cold to use in winter). It also rained while we were there so there was no escaping the thick red mud.

Fantastically laid out park. We had effectively 3 spots for our site - van, slab then car park. The only downside was that it was so hot and only a few spots of grass for the dogs. Can see what the park will look like in a few years though with the gardens and everything done and it will be epic

Biggest caravan park I have ever seen, over 300 sites. So if it's peace and space you are looking for this is not the place. It had rained for days so mud everywhere, no grass at all. Not enough amenities for the size of the park. Mud tracked through all showers and toilets with no option to clean it up. Just need a mop for guests to use. We had an amazing dinner at Harry's in town.
