Excellent service! Entrees were good. I had the salmon pasta as my main. One of the best pastas ever had. Lots of salmon and tasted fantastic. Partner had the Surf n Turf. Loved it. Great view, great staff and great food. Will be back !
This is a very picturesque setting for a restaurant. As it was a mild day, we sat outside under cover. Service was prompt and our server brought the daily specials blackboard to our table. We decided on oysters and a seafood platter for 1. The food was very good and we had just enough space left to share a very large serving of delicious sticky date pudding. The restaurant seems popular with all ages.
Great seafood, we had the paella and seafood marinara. Both dishes could not be faulted and service was impeccable - shout out to Alannah! Thanks
Fantastic chef. Charlie is a very experienced chef with an history of raving reviews. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a number of reasons. The site in Lorne can't be better. The various eating areas caters to el fresco dining and there is even a smoking area for smokers. Drop in and you'll have a memorable culinary experience. I would give this restaurant the highest ratimh 10 out of 10

Looking for one last hurrah at Lorne before our drive home to Melbourne, we decided to stop by the Lorne Pier Restaurant, tempted by the ocean views it offered. We were welcomed by a friendly waiter, who showed us to a table by the window, where we could overlook the waves. My boyfriend ordered a simple bacon and egg breakfast for his first meal of the day, complemented by the Oysters Kilpatrick. I, on the other hand, chose the Atlantic Salmon from the Specials Menu. I did not expect anything particularly mind blowing, considering the restaurant looks like your typical family feed with fishy decor and other homely touches, and not at all hoity-toity. However, when my meal arrived, I was pleasantly surprised by the presentation (and size!) of the Atlantic Salmon. I was barely able to finish it all, and could only do so by sneaking a few forkfuls to my boyfriend's plate.
I would love to visit the Pier Restaurant again on my next trip to Lorne, hopefully with the sun shining and the ocean views even better than they were this time around.
Nice restaurant with a great view overlooking the ocean. Had the seafood platter for one. Found it fresh and tasty. Really good value for $39. It was busy but the service was really quick. Didn't have to wait long for our food.
Drive back to Melbourne CBD through great ocean road and stopped here for a late lunch. I had a delicious tickling fish with prawns and scallops in foil. It was oozing with a creamy sauce and so fresh. Best feeling I s having amazing seafood by the pier. Great staff too. Definitely recommend for seafood!
The view was breathtaking, the staff were friendly and the food was extremely fresh and delicious. We even got to hand feed cockatoos which was fun. Highly recommend and can't wait to come back!

I went to Lorne Pier restaurant for lunch on the Anzac day. The restaurant have an amazing view, nice decorations to match with the beach theme. When we was there the restaurant is pack of a bunch of people on the outdoor area but there is a lot of available table on the indoor area. So we wait for the outdoor table which take around 10-15mins.
We ordered a seafood platter and blue eye with lemon butter. We have been waiting for our food to come out around 25mins. The seafood platter was ok fresh oysters and prawn but the fried calamari was over cook as well as musscle .
On the other hand the blue eye was so good cooked well and lemon butter was so nice. For the dessert we ordered sticky date pudding and it was so good, the caramel sauce just to die for and they have generous amount on the plate.
About the service was not good. The staff could have been more friendlier i have see no smile from them at all.
Overall nice view, good food but a little bit pricey and not so good service.
This place came highly recommended to us for our Lorne trip, and we couldn't say no to trying this place out. Located on the Pier and the name suggests, the restaurant has a great view of the ocean and the pier beside it. The restaurant is nice and roomy, but quite packed with asian tourists when we went which was a shame (there were just so many of them!)
The food was good, despite me not being a huge fan of seafood. I got the Crab Bisque, which was really nice, and we also got the Seafood Marinara and one of the Main fish dishes. The name of the fish escapes me right now but it was tasty. It's very pricey place, since seafood, I've certainly had more filling dishes elsewhere. The staff were okay, but they could've just been annoyed with the asian tourists :)
Have to say, the best Kilpatrick oysters I have ever had. Amazing seafood, great service, and an all good vibe. When you visit Lorne, and feel like seafood, this is the place to get it.
Went here on Valentine's Day and absolutely loved it. Only fault is that they never wrote down my booking and that the food is expensive. But the King George is the best fish I have ever had and the chocolate mouse is to die for. Also my partners sticky date pudding was HUGE!
When we feel like fresh seafood, nice wines and a nice and relaxing overnight stay we love going to the Lorne pier where you can have a great experience and be on the beach, the oyster kilpatricks are the freshest and whether you have the blue eye, snapper or the chefs seafood specials along with their home made bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar,
It is like being on the Aegean, and if you have room for their dessert, their home made crumble dessert with ice cream is my favourite, service has always been great and other then seafood they have a great rib eye. Thankfully nothing has changed. Menu the same, food the same and the staff are the same as is the magnificent view. If anything I thought there were a few more scallops in the seafood paella. Don't leave Lorne without coming here.
There are few seafood restaurant in Lorne. The pier's location is perfect. good food but manu is not quite frendily for foreign tourists. Anyway, I have selected a everyday fish and my friends had tiger prawns and a mix seafood plate. All seafood is fresh and tasty.
Although the breakfast is really simple...... white bread s, scrambled eggs, bacon etc. The breakfast was great! Very traditional breakfast but you know sometimes that’s not a bad at all. Nice coffee with breaky.

I'm a seafood lover, only eat it when I'm out though as the other half isn't such a fan. Started with the dips and calamari - spread was fantastic, so tasty. Spag Marinara up next, sooo gooood!!! Went with the Napoli base and there was so much meat in there! Delicious!! Onto dessert and wasn't disappointed with the creme caramel - such a nice dinner!!
Would recommend going a little later (we walked in after 8pm) - missed all the long weekend crowds and had the freshest cooked meals, new favourite seafood restaurant right here!!
Had breakfast here..... The boyfriend HATES lining up for food, so I agreed to come here for breakfast. I am a bit of a food snob but bit my tongue this time.
I wanted lunch, but because this place reminded me of Gordon Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares, I went for something on the breakfast menu instead.
Not a lot of choice, so we ordered scrambled eggs on toast (only white bread, no other choices), no bacon (it was Good Friday, so I didn't want meat), with side of avocado and mushroom. Boyfriend had a cappuccino and I had an English breakfast tea (cos they don't have soy milk).
The breakfast was surprisingly good! The scambled eggs were not overly creamy and they had some awesome flavours in there. The giant portabello mushroom was the highlight - it tasted amazing. Presentation reminded me of something we whip up at home, but nothing wrong with that; I don't like microherbs anyway.
Would recommend if in the mood for no-nonsense and cheap breakfast.
Great food!! Terrible service!! We had the rockling fish and the seafood marinara- they were both full of flavour and well worth the price. We were very disappointed with the staff- they didn't smile and appeared as if they did not want to be there. It made the experience a little distasteful.

The seafood platter for one is excellent value. I was recommended this place, and this particular dish, by one of my ex-husbands, and despite my preconceptions that he would be wrong, it is actually very good. Life is full of surprises.

Memorable meal. Loved it! The location, the food, the service. Yeah the prices were a bit steep but we enjoyed the great seafood by the pier experience so much it was worth it. Made our Great Ocean Road trip much more memorable.
If you want innovative fine dining enjoy your 2 hour drive back to Melbourne. If you want consistently good seafood in a spectacular (especially if you can get a table outside) this is your place. Seafood paella and crayfish excellent. If you are only going to eat at one place at Lorne this should be top of your list.
Fresh fish, well cooked. The building looks like it hasn't changed since the 1970's but don't let that put you off. They serve good quality fresh seafood cooked without any pretensions, and likely sourced from the fish co-op next door. My partner had the seafood platter for one and I had the Blue Eye with lemon sauce. We also shared a delicious mango and coconut Crème Brulee. No complaints at all apart from the limited number of wines by the glass. We would be happy to return as the fish was fresh, well cooked and the location next to the pier delightful.
Be sure to tell our friends. Great friendly family environment, beautiful views of the ocean, great staff and most important amazing food. On the day the power went out in pretty much all of Lorne, most restaurants and take outs where experiencing difficulties but not the Pier Seafood Restaurant and for this reason my family and I went to have some dinner. The owner tried to fit everybody who either had or hadn't booked because of the circumstances and was very efficient and friendly, we felt like simply fish and chips and were got amazing beer battered king George whiting, main calamari and fillet of snapper for the adults and a good portioned kids fish and chips (also whiting) for my son. Professional staff and our waitress was lovely, overall experience was great and we'll be sure to go back again very soon. We'll definitely spreading the work to our friends and other acquaintances.
Just enjoyed a lovely lunch here. Great spot right on the water front. Oysters where really good and my partner and I shared a couple of mains which where both nice. The North African spiced rockling was both of our favorite. It's no frills good eating. Something like a really good fish and chip shop that you can have a drink at also. I'd come back.

Always delicious!. I have now visited Lorne Pier Restaurant three times and have continued to have the same dish each time, the seafood platter for one. It is always absolutely delicious. Full of both hot and cold seafood it won't disappoint. I will definitely be back again sometime soon.

Ordered soy lattes and a serve of Upside Down Banana Cake and Fig Cheesecake.
Lattes were hot and strong, Banana Cake was warm and moist, Cheesecake was velvety smooth and full of flavour. Being fig lovers we were surprised how delicious it was. The figs had been marinated in something I can't put my finger on, but the flavour was amazing.
The menu was extensive and inviting. Plan to go back for lunch next time.
Excellent Lunch!. A Saturday lunch, we had'n't booked, but all was OK as it wasn't too busy. One of the young waitresses made eye-contact as soon as we stepped in the door, a good start. Soon seated & enjoying a Riesling, we opted for serves of crumbed calamari for my wife & I the crumbed scallops. Both dishes were of an excellent standard with a lovely leafy green salad plus yummy fries on each plate. Food, service & price all excellent, can't wait to go back!
Luncheon Review. Great location and food delish. Our table had a Seafood Platter and King George Whiting Fillets, both well presented with good serves. Regularly return to this delightful busy restaurant overlooking the pier. Has good service and very pleasant helpful staff makes it worth driving the 25 kms around the Great Ocean Road for a good meal.
Delicious!. We came here today, the paella is to die for!!!! I don't think it's too expensive for what it is - it's absolutely packed with seafood (mussels, fish, clams, prawns and crab) as well as chorizo, so much so that it could be happily shared, for only $28. I'm pretty sure it would be upwards of $40 at any other restaurant. We also got the spaghetti marinara which was likewise packed with seafood (and likewise a very generous portion!!) for $22 which is very reasonable.
I guess the fish dishes are a little pricey, but if you're looking for something that is absolutely delicious and won't hurt your wallet too much, go for the paella or marinara!! :)
Food was quite nice but way too expensive. We don't really worry too much about price when we eat out, but for two adults and a toddler, we didn't expect the bill to be this much! There was no offer of more drinks during the service, which was disappointing. But then again that may have been a good thing when the final bill came!
Fantastic restraurant! Located in a great area near the beach. Staff are fantastic, seems to be family owned. Food was divine, the waiter was very helpful in helping me choose. Would definitely head back here! Save me some Seafood ;P !

We had a fabulous lunch after taking the dogs for a swim. The portion sizes are generous and very tasty. I always have the same thing, Tiger Prawns (very large!) with garlic and chilli. Sometimes we drive from Melbourne just for this dish. Beware of the soft drinks though, it's from a large bottle and will come flat unless your drink is the first one out of the bottle. How hard is it to get cans and individual bottles?
I had a really lovely food experience at the Pier. I hadn't been for years, and was pleased that it had retained all its character. I had half a dozen natural oysters for entree, followed by the snapper in lemon sauce with chips and salad, and passionfruit creme brulee. Hubby had entree calamari, then the battered whiting, and finished with the crumble. All of the dishes were exactly what we wanted them to be, with the exception of the top of the crumble lacking some crunch. The serving sizes were perfect, and the service was prompt and efficient. We were there quite early so it was fairly empty, a few more people would definitely have added to the ambience.
BEST oysters in VICTORIA!!! If you visit Lorne, then you have to come to this seafood restaurant.
The must try is definitely the oysters just get half ounce of raw and cheese sauce each, both are delicious!
Another must try is the seafood platter (not sure what it’s called but it has a bit of everything).
If you come here, no point eating food that you can eat elsewhere, just focus on seafood, they’re all VERY fresh.

Tasty and fresh seafood in an authentic seaside restaurant.
I had the platter for one and all of the seafood on it (oysters, mussels, scallops, prawns, calamari) was delicious. There’s a good balance between deep fried seafood and fresh also which is nice.
The restaurant itself feels homely and has various seaside themed artwork up inside.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, and attentive with service.
Great seafood. Recommend going here where it's light out so you can enjoy a bit of the view.
