Wuhoo! About time we had a cafe of this calibre in our neck of the woods. The ambience is warm and inviting. The staff are positve and extremely friendly. The coffee from Axil is well represented on their Linea and by their baristas. But most importantly of all the food here is absolutely devine. A hidden gem that all coffee and food enthusiasts must try. Will definitely be back
Absolutely delicious food. Love the ambience, very elegant & very homely. Great way to spend an afternoon. Service was fantastic as were the staff & the hosts. Well worth the drive no matter where you're coming from. We'll be definitely going again & again & again. What a great find..!!
Coffee was so smooth! This will be my new before work treat ! Food was super delicious...can't go wrong with the $20 lunchtime special...main meal with a glass of wine or beer.

Highly recommend for corporate/private functions! The team at ReMed Natural Medicine Clinic in Lower Plenty held our event at the cafe recently and the food was amazing - and for a group of naturopaths/nutritionists that is a HUGE call! Space was excellent and staff so accommodating to every need. We will most definitely be back.

I had brunch on a weekday, so it wasn't very busy. The service was prompt, but very matter-of-fact rather than friendly.
I had the chilli and chorizo scrambled eggs, which was full of flavour. And the coffee was outstanding - this may be due to spending the last month drinking coffee in the US, but I still think it was better than most Melbourne coffee
Food was fine. Service staff were friendly. I was however frustrated by the waitress who offered gluten free bread but neglected to mention how much extra it added to the bill.
Went here over the weekend with my Aunty & sister. I got the big breakfast, my sister got the breakfast trifle & my Aunty got some strawberry thing that I’ve forgotten the name for . My Aunty also tried the turmeric latte which we all had a try of. It was definitely interesting but the after taste tasted like soapy water 😂. The big breakfast was good, I really liked the bacon it was thick as well as the potato Rosti that was heavenly. My sister & aunty both liked there’s 😝
Great local cafe serving delicious breakfasts and very good coffee. Service was also good. Been a couple of times and everything ordered has come out promptly. Bonus was that we can walk there from home!
Well done to the team at Charlie and Leos. This warm and vibrant cafe offers great coffee, service and most importantly of all excellent food! I had the pleasure of digging into their grass fed beef burger with polenta chips and let me tell you it was absolutely devine. Will definitely return with reinforcements.

Thought I'd pop in on for a spot of breakfast before work and I was pleasantly surprised!! Firstly, my latte was amazing, the young girl behind the machine certainly knew what she was doing! I had had the Atlantic which was very flavoursome and looked the bomb! Service was also spot on, I'll definitely be back for lunch!👍
My mate and I both enjoyed a beef burger for lunch with coffee and tea. The burger had good size meat pattie, melted cheese, beetroot , lettuce and a side dish of chutney, the bun was a light brioche roll. The accompanying fries were crisp and crunch and perfectly cooked. A very filling and value for money meal.
We had a cappuccino and black tea to drink they were both very good.
The cafe is modern and comfortable and very clean and neat. The service was friendly and helpful.
A perfect cafe experience. Coffee and Chai were great. Quality was excellent. Meals were tasty. Prices were reasonable. Pleasant modern decor. Friendly and attentive service. No negatives to report. I will be coming back and do not hesitate in recommending this place to others. Thank-you for a lovely afternoon!

There is something very appealing about a quaint little café out in the suburbs, and the coffee here is really good. The staff was friendly and I would definitely visit again.
I am a tourist in the area that loves coffee and I am compelled to go to every 'coffee shop' possible and I can say without a doubt that Charlie and Leo's is one of the best cafés in Melbourne. I am a harsh and at times brutally honest critic but at Charlie and Leo's there was nothing to fault it was (from my POV) perfection. It pains me to say that such an amazing place is greatly underrated clearly evident due to a lack of customers but those that do go are treated with the best of the best at a reasonable fee so much so that it feels as if I'm stealing from them. If you live nearby even if you don't I implore you to come to Charlie and Leo's for a breakfast, brunch or lunch guaranteed to be better than anything you've had before.

Just what Lower Plenty has been missing, a great modern cafe with great food. We now have one in this cafe. Staff are very friendly and the coffee is great ( I am a bit bias, I am a fan Axil Coffee. ) I ordered the Zucchini fritters and it was so amazing, light and fluffy with a great halloumi taste. Can't wait to get back for lunch next time.
Great local eatery, fine ambiance! Service is spot on and the food actually looks like the pictures; try it and it tastes even better. Don't miss the wasabi chicken schnitzel. Home made carrot cake: totally scrumptious.

The food was tasty and the service was excellent. Zee was friendly, helpful and made my friend feel extra special when he had a cake brought out to her with a lit candle on it after he found out it was her birthday and everyone sang happy birthday to her. That is the kind of service we don't get very often these days. So we will return and bring more friends there. Well done Zee!
Very accomodating went and found me an extra high chair. Perfect coffee and spicy eggs on sourdough and big veggie brekkie.

Chilli Scramble & Chicken n Avo Roll
Food was pretty good but have to deduct a point, I asked for now toast and I hate when places drizzle the sauce over the plate to sit the food in, makes it hard to get the sauce if it’s good or if the sauce is no good you can’t avoid it ever!
Good coffee and service was great, the owner or manager on that day were extremely friendly!
Nice cosy place that has very warm and friendly staff. The coffee is good (AXIL). Seems very kids friendly by the toys they have available. Their breakfast menu is stock standard and reasonable priced. Would love to come here for a full meal next time as I only had coffee this time.

Some really unique menu items that are a treat to find in the city's north.
They have a great menu for vegetarian, flavour finders, weight watchers or regular cafe goers.
Their staff are very friendly, turn around time on food is quick, and whatever the spices in the chips we're. Man they were good.
Also tried the tumeric latte, if you're looking for something unique to drink. A nice savory flavor. They also have beetroot if you're feeling adventurous.
Fantastic smiles on the staff. Had great friendly conversations. One of the best coffee in town.
