Review The Loft Cafe - Macquarie Park

Sarah C
Nice find in Macquarie centre. I took a star off because I saw a staff member accidentally drop a yellow cloth on the floor and proceeded to pick it up.. and then wipe the table with it. 😱 I ordered eggs Benedict, which was nice and fresh. The coffee I got was great, just not big enough (I should have ordered a bigger one!)

I would definitely recommend this cafe. It’s has both scan menu order and the old fashion menu. I tried both of them and I got great service. My waiter was attentive and had Great customer service . The food I ordered was delicious and was filling and my Coffee (latte) was delicious too. Would I go back there again. YES

I just had a piccolo to take away, Coffee is recommended. In fact one of the best I’ve try this week… They are under renovation, maybe to get a bigger sitting capability. Anyway, service is also friendly.

Great food and super friendly staff. Their freshly squeezed juices and smoothies are delicious, and they have a wide range of crepes, sandwiches and toasties available, alongside muffins and desserts. Their tea and coffees are high quality and they provide you with the ingredients to pour your own tea if requested. Definitely worth a look for some tasty, healthy sandwiches and juices in Macquarie Centre.

Worst cafe I’ve been to in as long as I can remember. The positive was that the staff were nice (although very flat & seemed pretty depressed) & it’s in a great spot on the loft level but the food was terrible. Bread not toasted enough & just had massive chunks of cold tomato & avocado on top with little seasoning, not even butter on the bread! Will be giving this one a miss in future.

I was shocked by the level of service today. I asked them to warm up our muffin and they said they don't have microwave since they are renovating and they gave us cold muffin. And still they charged full price. They need to consider discounted items since they can't provide proper service
First Customer Reviews
Staff are not attentive. No customer service. This was on Sunday. How hard is it for staff member to quickly advise customer who is holding a menu behind customers asking for a table to go up to register to order. Customers that cut infront of me. I let it go as I would assume they would be pointed to get a free table as that's how I was directed. No, the staff member walked away to seat them. then being confused what to do, I walked around to enter in the cafe to call out to staff member to ask about how to order. She pointed out and i saw there was a staff member standing there. They did not attempt to assist me, by the fact i had called out and staff instructed. Another customer who was right behind me. Then cut me off. That's now TWO! how hard is it for the worker to say sorry that person was waiting. No attention to detail of what's going on. No care. I walked away, not bothering to give money to a business that hire staff that have no interest in customer service or doing the right thing. Even if other customers are selfish and push in. I promised my husband that I would leave it for a few days to see if this experience warrants a negative review. It does. I look upon reviews before choosing where to dine. Hopefully this will assist other customers. I should've walked away when the first customer cut me off and staff leaving without giving direction to me. I was holding a menu in hand. That should be a sign I am ready to order, if you don't want to offer table service.

My wife and I have been ordering from The Loft every day in quarantine and honestly it’s been consistently fantastic! Their salmon bagel is something we get just about every day and it’s absolutely to DIE for. The bagel itself is delicious, and there is a great amount of salmon and cream cheese with capers, red onion and rocket. Yum! We order mochas from here and they always arrive without leaking as they’re packaged well with glad wrap! They always arrive hot. We will continue ordering throughout lockdown and look forward to visiting the cafe soon :) thank you to the staff at The Loft! You’re keeping us sane!

Standard cafe with the usual offerings.
Nothing was really outstandingly good or bad. Just all as expected.
The nice thing about this cafe is it's location in the lift so, although it is inside, it gets lots of natural light from above.

Quite nice ambiance with different tables and lounges to sit. 'Outside' area seems bright and airy. Prices are quite high though. Service is quite efficient and friendly

Love that there's so much space between tables where you could fit 2 prams around the table and still have space for people to walk through. It's a great cafe to go to if you have young children as they have a little play area right next to the space outside the cafe. Food tasted nice, generous portions and came out quite quickly despite how busy it was (came during school holidays).

Visited here for bfast with a friend, she had an egg and bacon roll... which looked pretty ordinary and not very big for the price she paid, she seemed to enjoy it though.
I had the green bfast bowl with quinoa, kale, spinach, haloumi, 2 poached eggs and gf toast ($18 all together). It was a little bland, nothing punchy about the flavours but a nice healthy option and was presented well.
The layout of the cafe is cute and it’s decorated nicely, a variety of places to sit and good atmosphere.

Cute relaxed atmosphere. Ordered corn fritters for brunch. Not the best I've had. They were a bit too floury and not crunchy. Tasted like they were precooked and then microwaved. Also for the price, it would have been nice to have better sides to accompany.

Quite average, ordered Turkish bread toast which wasn't toasted you want a nice crunch when biting into it rather then soft & doughy. Mistakenly gave me a soy late with 4 cm of foam but was rectified when given the right coffee. Not too bad atmosphere, very clean.

We were here a couple of months ago for a lovely breakfast.

We ordered two dishes; poached eggs with halloumi and mushroom on sourdough and poached eggs with bacon and hollandaise on english muffins.

The poached eggs with halloumi and mushroom was an absolutely delicious combination. Would have been well paired with some hollandaise or other sauce as it was quite dry.

The poached eggs with bacon was quite fatty with the bacon being streaky but was very filling.

We will return if we are looking for a quick and filling breakfast before the stores open.

Big breakfast was terrible.
Potato rosti isn't a potato rosti - it's some re-fried tough old lump of a blended mixture that barely tastes like potato.
Mushrooms taste like they were cooked long ago and kept warm.
Sourdough is dense and tastes like it hasn't had any time to ferment.
Eggs were alright but far from great.
The tomato was good. Great you guys can grill a tomato!
And as for the "beef bacon", okay sure I get you may have your reasons for not serving pork but this stuff is a farce. It lacks seasoning and is full of sinew.

Also had the French toast which was actually pretty good, but boy, if you fail a big breakfast that hard there's no forgiveness to be had.

Love the place and its always a comfortable spot for some reading time or just time out with friends. Coffee is above average. No big surprise with their food also. But its a good local cafe overall.

Came here with my wife and 2 kids and ordered a tasty lunch from the specials of Hand-Made Ravioli, Prawn and Avo Salad and Fish n Chips from the kids menu. The food was well priced, delicious and the service was friendly and quick. We sat next to the kids playground and enjoyed our EXCELLENT coffees. We will tell our friends and come back. Well Done!

Food : 😁 Great
Service : 😁 Great

So here I ordered the pumpkin and corn fritters with pesto and bocconcini. It. Was. Delicious. I love pumpkin and I loved the pesto. It wasn't too oily and the flavours went really well together. The service was great. The waiters were always attentive and smiling. Unfortunately I didn't grab any coffee so that'll be something I will do when I come back.

I'm not one to eat at shopping centre cafes, but maybe I'm just presuming what the food will be like. I usually will only go for a coffee or slice. That's exactly what I did when I went to Loft Cafe. I only went for a takeaway coffee. I was really happy with my coffee. It was smooth, hot and creamy. Really nice and the staff were pleasant. They had plenty of sandwich options and slices which I'd be happy to have on the go.

Bad food and expensive. Slow service as well - I understand that there was a lot of people during lunch hour but the plates did not arrive for a long time after the drinks.

Iced matcha latte is a joke, tasted like sugar water.

A nice and reliable place to have breakfast or lunch. Especially early (before the hordes of people arrive), there's a kids play area right next door and easy access to the roof top car park & parents' room. Menu hasn't changed much in years but you have plenty of choice.
Sir And Mlady Dine Out
It's no surprise that The Loft Cafe is - well - in the loft area of Macquarie Centre. The name is of course a clear give away. It's a pleasant part of the centre with plenty of natural light and space. We were shopping - not an unusual pastime for us - and needed brunch when we spotted The Loft Cafe. There's an indoor area as well as a substantial "outdoor" area - which is still inside Macquarie Centre but outside the cafe itself. You get a bit more passing traffic in the "outdoor" area but it just seems a bit more open and relaxed.
Will Eat Yum
Located on the top floor of Macquarie Centre, the Loft Cafe offers seating both inside the cafe as well as a dedicated area in the middle of the shopping centre. I only ordered an iced frappe so hard to rate but the frappe was made from real fruits and the service was friendly. Look forward doing a proper review when I order some food too.

If I could give a 0, I would.
I forked out $17 for the "Big" Breakfast. What I got in return looked like leftovers from a breakfast buffet at a 2nd rate hotel. The portions were measly. I was given half a tomato, 1 slice of sourdough that must of come off the end of the loaf, 2 sausages for ants, 3 fried button mushrooms, some weird meat and poached eggs that seemed to be close relatives to hard boiled eggs.

If you look at my photo, what you see is really what you get.
Crème Brulee Crack
Lovely waitstaff. Bright, friendly and warm atmosphere. I had the avocado with salmon stack including rocket and dukkah. The flavours worked well together, and treated fresh. The poached eggs had slightly undercooked egg whites, but still tasted ok.
Postcards From Peta
Lovely overpriced cafe

Indoor or outdoor dining to choose from. Food took a while to come and it was average. $17 per meal. Bae said coffee was good. Would have rather gone to missing piece.

On food only, this is probably about 2.5, but the staff here are super friendly, and made the meal much more enjoyable. Convenient location within the Macquarie shopping centre, especially for the families with the kids play center right next to it. Lots of choices on the menu, mostly standard suburban cafe fares, the prices are reasonable. I got the french toasts, solid offering, bit like the one I cook at home. Coffee was ok. In summary, a good cafe for the family on a suburban shopping trip, but probably not one for the foodies.

Came here with our entertainment book voucher looking for a cheap lunch for two.

Prices aren't too bad to start with, mind you.

Atmosphere was way nicer inside the cafe - the decor is quaint and welcoming, reminiscent of an old country lodge.

The section of alfresco seating in the shopping centre was noisy and full of screaming kids.

Gf ordered a special fresh squeezed juice she said was cold and very nice, perfect on a hot day.

I had a cappuccino which was really good.

Gf had the salt and pepper squid salad and it looked really nice, she didn't finish as she is sick at the moment but thoroughly enjoyed what she did eat.

I had a beef burger, which I am entirely surprised with how nice a cafe burger was.

Brioche bun was warm and soft, and the ingredients were all very complementary
Only knock is that the beef patty, while very tasty, was cooked basically well done, and one side had been burnt slightly. Cook could have taken it off probably a minute on each side earlier and it would have been great.

Still a nice burger, certainly wasn't expecting something that nice from a shopping centre cafe.

Will come back again for sure.

The service was excellent. The staff is very friendly. The food was great across the board, from the burgers to the salads. The kids meals were good too. Good place to take kids for a feed.

I love the vibe! The people are pretty amazing too - really friendly, outgoing and always at your service! I come here at least 3-4 times a week with the family for a treat or for a long relaxing lunch! Their specials are always so fresh and tasty. We always indulge in their cakes too - the best in the centre. It really makes a difference coming to a place where you always feel welcome and these guys definitely do that! having a choice of sitting indoor and outdoor is always great, with lots of space outside near the kiddies area. Will always give this place a 5/5. well done team! love the work!

The service is friendly here. Had a Mocha and shared the Mango & Coconut Cake as well as the Lemon Meringue Tart. The cakes were delicious and nice spot to have an afternoon break.

Have been here many times but not for a couple of years
Great service and staff
Menu pretty much the same as last time I was here
Coffee good and strong
The chicken wrap and beef burger were good
Can not complain we both enjoyed
Not cheap but pretty good

Found this café a little boring. Menu wasn't that great and coffee pretty average. With the completion in Macquarie centre now they might need to step their game up...

Went to this cafe today with a few girl friends. We ordered the Loft breakfast, a soup and 2 eggs benedicts plus a couple of smoothies and a hot chocolate. The food came out relatively quickly but after a few bites I noticed my loft breakfast had a long piece of brown hair intertwined with the bacon pieces. I immediately took the plate back to the waitress who apologised and said that she would "clean it up" for me. While we were still wondering what she meant by "clean it up", she came around to our table and apologised again, reassuring that a new fresh plate of food would be made for me. We were initially satisfied. However.... when my new plate of food came I noticed that it was not a new fresh plate of food as promised, but it was still my old food, rearranged and hair removed. What's worse, there was ANOTHER piece of hair in my supposing "new" plate of food! It seemed as though while they were trying to "clean up" the hair on my old plate of food they didn't do a good enough job and just left some of the long hair on the plate. I flagged down the waitress once more and she went and got the manager to speak to me. The manager apologised but said that the hair might actually be strings from the mushrooms. Surprised by his denial attitude to this whole situation I told him that the hair was originally intertwined with the bacon pieces! At this point my girlfriend asked him if we could get a refund for my meal (because we were not offered a refund up until then), which he obliged, and also made us another meal at no cost. Aside from the food the strawberry smoothie was rather tasteless too, more foam than strawberry and yoghurt.

Worst Cafe Ever. This has got to be the worst cafe I have ever been too
When placing a order, eggs on toast with side of sausages and 3 drinks, I had to repeat my order 6 times and they still got it wrong.
The sausages were pre cooked cheap nasty and they charge $3 for dried tasteless sausages
When the drinks came to the table one of coffees was supposed to be a large in a mug but a small coffee was delivered, I asked what was this drink, the waitress yelled in a loud voice SKIM CAP, I looked at her and said look at my receipt I paid for a large in a mug, no apology was given when the wrong drink was taken away nor when the correct drink came.
DO NOT GO to this awful cafe, heaps of better ones at Macquarie Centre.
Little Eats Sydney
A popular cafe for families at Macquarie Centre, particularly given its location next to the free soft play. The seating area offers plenty of room for parents with prams and you may even be lucky enough to find a seat overlooking the play area. Sit back and relax with coffee in hand whilst the little ones burn off some energy!

Excellent food and service. What a fabulous suprise this place is. I have passed this cafe for years and never stopped to have lunch, but today I did.
The food is great and the service was quick, efficient and the overall experience was great. Skip the food hall downstairs and head up to this haven away from the rest. I loved my Loft Salad with chicken... Excellent all the way.
