Review Yatai Ozeki - Macquarie Park

One of my personal favourite places to dine after a day's study at university, Back before lockdown I would have dinner every night at this place. Yatai Ozeki in my opinion the best fast food the centre has to offer. Diverse menu, fresh ingredients, hearty quantity and quality, friendly staff, lightning quick waiting time and on top of all that, hard to beat highly affordable prices. It is so difficult to dine anywhere else but at a Yatai Ozeki when I see one.

Used to be a very delicious and convent place for food, the price was good around $12-13 for a decent meal set, now the quality has gone down and price has increased to $16. Beef rice bowl was very fatty, and the miso soup was half filled. Sadly do not recommend buying from here anymore. Better of getting sushi for lunch.

Food is great for it’s price but staff are really rude. I asked for a help since I bought a lot of food and they don’t care, like pretending they didn’t understand me or I really do hope is just a language barrier. I even asked them to put a cling wrap for the soup since it’s a take away. Anyway, been going there a lot for take away orders and never been able to see a staff that are friendly or atleast helpful. Only great because it’s cheap.

Last time I ordered two different menu for me and my family, both came out wrong, but did not complain. I decided to give another chance today, which also failed. The reciept had the right menu, and it had a similar look so I realised it when I came home, unfortunately. I tried it anyway since I was starving, but even the taste of the sauce was too strong in one side, totally unbalanced. I really liked going here for about 4 years, but I should find a better place now.

Ordered the vegetarian teriyaki rice and was not disappointed. It tasted good and the portion size was generous and decently priced as well. The place was clean, service was quick (went on a quiet day) and staff were friendly.

Great japanese food, freshly made. Karaage Chicken is a must have. Succulent and juicy and tender. Very delicious, fast service food at a low price.

Pros: Excellent food. Cheap and healthy. It gets prepared pretty quick. Staffs are really active and polite. Perfect location in the mall. Healthy food is style of Japanese cuisine and they have maintained it here. )Love the ice tea also. Cons: Nothing

Bought beef, karaage and Ozeki udon sets, thinking beef and chicken will be inside noodle bowels, took home and found out there were no beef and chicken in the bowel. It's very disappointing. Kimchi was not as shown on the menu. Udon was small portion. Tried to call the shop, phone number is disconnected.

This store is great for a quick Japanese food fix located right in the food court next to the icing ring at Macquarie centre. The menu is quite vast so you have lots of options to choose from your set. I chose set A2, which came with a main (mine was cheese chicken katsu don), mini udon and two sides (seaweed salad and pork gyoza). It's definitely bang for your buck since the serving of the don was huge, I couldn't finish it off for a price of approximately $14-$15.

Cheap prices but smaller portions. Udon set didn’t have meat and was quite small. The takoyaki hardly had any octopus and was too mushy and sweet. Service was quite fast

We ordered 2 ramen combos with spicy ramen and curry ramen. The curry ramen is good, spicy ramen is rather salty. No meat in their 7.4 ramen. Takoyaki was average and one was missing octopus piece. Gyoza was very dry. Home made tea had good flavor but they put in way too much sugar in there! I had curry there a while ago and it was pretty good value. Probably one of the better food vendors in the food court. Xihuahua 🐶 may be interested if you are forced to eat at Macquarie again?🤠

Samon mayo bowl is very filling. Bit too sweet though.

Easy place for a bit of sushi, sashimi or rice paper rolls. Reasonable price and fresh food. I had a pretty solid sized rice paper roll which was nice.

good cheap food, quick service and a range of options available which is nice ! The curry udon is one of my favourites. They have recently changed their menus though and i have yet to check it out.

Cheap, fast and most importantly delicious! This place delivers on quality food and sides! The large menu has something for everyone. I can’t wait to try even more of the large menu!

[2.5/5] Ordered:
•Yaki kimchi gyoza udon ($9.40)

Most choices here are less than $10 but the udon I got was quite a small portion. The udon was nice and had a little chewy texture, while the filling for the gyoza was good but I wish it came on a separate plate so it wouldn’t be soggy. The kimchi was mixed in with the udon broth and that was okay too. Don’t let the chili image on the menu fool you, it was more of a mild spice due to the kimchi.
Picturesque Food
Ordered a bento box from Yatai Ozeki for $8.50. Bargain and very filling! The food was great, but some aspects of it made me hesitant on the freshness, but overall it was good.

Food: 2/10
Service: 6/10
Price: 6/10

Overall: 4/10

This place located in Macquarie Centre has extremely cheap Japanese meals which made me want to try it out. I thought this could be a great uni lunch or quick dinner.

The price is great and the service for a take away place is decent, however the food is not really worth it for the price and service. I tried the Katsu chicken curry and rice. The curry was watery and not very flavoursome, the rice was overcooked and the chicken was dry. The portions were okay but seeing as I didn't finish it, that didn't really matter. Wouldn't recommend.

Great take away food. Restaurant looks clean and all ingredients are fresh. Noticed a lot of clientele were of South East Asian descent so thought it must be good. Had a great curry and thoroughly was awesome. Recommend it for others to try.

Glad to have found this hidden gem! Great tasting food for a fraction of the price. Cant believe we only paid $18 for three meals? I enjoyed the miso chilli pork don and the ontama udon. Id totally come back to try their other dishes, which i think is a good opportunity for they have smaller servings of food than usual..

We needed to grab something quick to eat before our parking expired. Ingredients are ready to put together and done so after you place your order. Quick and tasty and easy to take away if that's what you are after. Had the chicken with soft boiled egg on rice. Sauce for the chicken was tasty and dish also had some coleslaw which gave a nice crunch. Looking forward to trying other dishes in the future.

*****

Revisited on 3/12/17
Not as good as the first visit. Had a few dishes to share. Mixed tempura udon was packed in a considerate way, by separating the tempura from the udon so it doesn't get soggy, but flavour average. Ontama rice bowl has a spicy preserved vegetable beware if you are not able to handle much chilli. Kaarage salad not bad, keep in mind dressing is purchased separately.

Great food, Freshly made, Quick Service I can see why this was the only place with a line will definitely visit again whenever I can. Highly recommend anyone that likes Japanese food

Your Taste Buds
We're on a Japanese food roll at the moment, thought I'd check out what Japanese is on offer at Macquarie Centre for lunch. This place has a long queue so thought I'd give it a go, the chicken Katsu curry is ok, and the beef is quite nice

Great food range with affordable price! Chicken katsu don is my favourite. Chicken katsu don itself is $6.90, and the combo C (comes with mini salmon salad and miso soup) with chicken katsu don is $10.90. If you are quite hungry, either go for combo set or choose few different single dishes to make your big meal. Plain Udon noodle soup is $4.90 and price of Donburi starts from $4.90.
Jeentaek Choi
One of best take away shop in Macquarie shopping center and certainly the best value for money and food tastes. Tried their mini combo(under $10) which includes udon, salad, donburi. It was delicious and filling. I would also recommend Mega combo
LiveToEat(C&A)
Hands down favourite take away restaurant in the Macquarie Shopping Centre lower level food court (have other favs in upper level food court). Great value for money and really good portion size. Chicken Katsu Don with added Japanese seasoning and a side of Yaki Kimchi makes an awesome lunch.

Yatai Ozeki is located in Macquarie's foodcourt and serves cheap yet delicious Japanese meals. We ordered the Chicken Katsu Curry Don ($8.9) and the serving was very generous. The Chicken Katsu was fresh and crispy whilst the curry was flavoursome. Overall, service was quick and we'd definitely return!
Sarah&Gluttony
Their menu items are not overly spectacular, their curry was slightly bland- kind of diluted.
Personally I think that it's slightly overpriced for small servings.

I tried their Ontama Chicken Mayo Don, which I thought was... interesting.. A ball of marinated diced chicken (mixed with veges?) was placed on top of a bed of sliced veges and rice, topped with a soft-boiled egg and a drizzle of mayo. It wasn't anything spectacular but for $5.90, what can you expect?

They have a large selection of rice/udon bowls to choose from (all under $10, excluding their set menus) but the portions are rather small so if you have a big appetite, you might want to order two and/or get a set. Service is quick (

Foodcourt offer at the Macquarie Centre. The prices are reasonable, under $8 for karaage chicken curry. The serving size is on the small side, but enough for a snack (they do combo set if you want a bigger eat). Quality of the food is ok, about average, nothing particularly special, but it's probably better than Totoro on the other side of the foodcourt.

I actually go here pretty much every Sunday after church for a quick takeaway lunch, since it's so close to my house. Every time I've been there, I've been ordering the $11.80 chicken katsu don combo set (which includes miso soup and udon noodles), which is a seriously good valued meal.

Really love the service, since I was 50 cents short once, of that dish, but the cashier was nice to give me the meal regardless, definitely quality people. Would probably be improved if they took credit along with cash. The food is really good for the money you pay. Would seriously recommend! It's like my go to place in Macquarie Centre now! :)
