Review Eden Espresso - Malvern

Great place for a meal. The coffee was amazing, as was the friendly staff

Loved the whole vibe of this cafe. Really nice and friendly staff. Good song choices for the music playing throughout the cafe. Avo toast was too die for and very freshly made.

Cute little breakfast spot. We sat out the back and had the puppy which was great. I got the middle eastern eggs which were absolutely delicious. Menu range isn't over the top but would go back to try something else.

I am a regular for coffee here, but recently had a Saturday night event here which was fantastic. Jed and the team made it so welcoming and easy for everyone to enjoy themselves. Highly recommend!

Such a lovely place to sit in and brunch. Staff were very freindly and attentive. Ordered 2 almond lattes which were quite good. Food was a bit disappointing. We had the smashed avo with sides and the recovery with sides. Honestly it tasted nice but we were expecting a lot more for what was charged. Had we not gotten sides with our meals we would have left hungry.

Our brekkies were exemplars of their kinds. M loved the Eggs Benedict and my bircher was not only delicious (could have had a second round), it looked like a pretty garden in its dish. Decaf coffee was very good. Staff were friendly and efficient. Could this be my new local fave?

All good. Food, staff, area. Will be back surely

Great Staff, quick service yummy food. Loved orange juice but i would give a pass on iced coffee next time / do try it a personal preference. I enjoy a espresso shot a lot more than an iced one with ice cream in it.

Went out for breakfast on New Year’s Day. Only place we could find open & they were very busy. But after a little wait we got a table for two & had a beautiful breakfast. Thanks Eden

While the food and coffee is nice, mothers with children who need high chairs are clearly not welcome at this cafe. I was looked at like I was crazy by the waitress when I requested I high chair for my son, and I was greeted by a very unapologetic " we don't have high chairs". Eden espresso. You are the only cafe in Melbourne I have come across that doesn't have high chairs. Clearly a statement that mothers are not welcome at your establishment with their babies. If I am wrong please feel free to get back to me with your reasoning. Thanks

Use to love this place, until my experience this morning when I was blatantly ignored by the woman seating customers. She greeted and seated a couple who entered the cafe after me and went to greet a second before I managed to get her attention. I was apparently to blame as my partner had gone to the bathroom, she thought he had gone to order take away, but even still it would have been nice to be greeted or acknowledged. No apology was made and her manner was rather rude. I was made to feel at fault in front of other customers. I use to love this place and the food is fantastic but the way I was treated was just not on.

Super-slow service, though others (the straight white men) seemed to get their food straight away. Pricey, and we had to get our food takeaway because it was so so slow. No food after 25 minutes. FFS. The coffee was nice.

I love my coffee. Eden is on top of the list. Almost every day I step into Eden to pick up a cup of my favorite brew and it is like coming home. Consistently good coffee (and food) over 10 years and the packed tables of regulars clearly agree. Great locally owned business, coffee made with love!!!

Lovely staff and vibe, great coffee and breakfast

Amazing coffee and food! Staff were excellent. Highly recommend a visit, you'll be back for more.
Amanda Murray-Alston
Always superb. Drop in for a coffee and a bite to eat whenever we’re in the area.

BEST! This place is called EDEN for a reason... paradise. A place of beauty. Where I met my True Love. The food and coffees are great too! ;) <3<3

Service is always great. Friendly staff and breakfast menu offers variety. Love it!!!

Cold Drip coffee was good not great and the atmosphere was a bit lacking..

We had coffee yesterday morning and it was great!

I’ve visited Eden Espresso a number of times over the years and it’s been consistently good. The food comes in large portions and they are always flavourful. The french toast is my favourite dish - thick, sweet, delicious, indulgent.

Walking along Glenferrie Road recently, we felt like "cafe food" for lunch. We stopped in here, and were lucky to snag the last two available spots - with all the coronavirus restrictions they had to limit the number of people here. I noticed a line forming at one stage outside, and a lot of people calling in for takeaway - so it is obviously quite popular.<br/>I can see why, I opted for the soup of the day - potato and zucchini. It was well flavoured, thick and filling. The Coeliac one went for "The Recovery" which was billed as a hash brown topped with two poached eggs, avocado, rocket and tomato. It was gluten free, so he was a happy chappie. The hash brown was enormous, so at the end of it all he was also a full chappie.<br/>Oh, and the joy of having a coffee in house, instead of the take-away ones we've made to with for the last few months.<br/>It was very enjoyable, and the staff were attentive. I could see the outdoor area from where I was sitting, so I imagine in summer, and without restrictions, it would be very pleasant too, but not right now!
Maddie
Food was average, did the job but was not anything special. Staff were lovely though

Food here is very good but the service is shocking. Have tried multiple times and always get completely ignored. Last time we went my husbands food arrived quickly but mine was a no show. After 30 mins of trying to get their attention, I went to the counter to be told they had forgot to place the order. There are heaps of good cafes around, go elsewhere.

I can make better butcher muesli at home. This was not cafe standards! Raspberry coulis was way to sour, too much coconut and Bircher was no good. A terribly unpleasant dish that didn’t even look good!

Eden Espresso is conveniently located on a busy road in Malvern, making it quite a popular cafe with locals. It's a large space with plenty of tables and also a lounge area for those choosing to just have coffee. Warm and welcoming with a relaxed vibe and lovely staff, Eden Espresso is a great choice for coffee and food.<br/><br/>I popped in recently for a quick lunch, and chose the Reuben sandwich. This cafe classic was done well, with plenty of filling and gorgeous, toasted bread. It was a tasty sandwich, and I really enjoyed it. The coffee was also really good. The rest of the menu also looked really nice and I hope to return soon to try more of it. Overall, service was great and I would be more than happy to return.

This large industrial style café, is not what you would expect to find on Glenferrie Road. With polished concrete floors, hidden away couches for those wanting to work, and padded bench seats for those wanting to linger, it’s a fun place for brunchers, those wanting a decent coffee, and those wanting a good social outing alike. In Winter, enjoy the

A group of 11 colleagues and myself visited Eden expresso for lunch this week. I was incredibly impressed with the great service for such a large group which has really increased my opinion of this popular Malvern cafe. On my last visit I found the recovery breakfast to be average (I felt the fresh spinach and tomato let the dish down) but it may have also been influenced by my poor company (bad dates can ruin a great place haha). On this occasion the food was of a high standard. I normally don’t order smashed avocado as I feel I can make it myself at home but I was eager to try it with pomegranate. Would have liked more pomegranate and more feta but overall a pleasant dish. The coffees arrived almost instantly and the meals all came very close together for such a big group. A great busy cafe!

Visited Eden Espresso on the long weekend public holiday and found it to be pretty average in most aspects. <br/>We had the mushies on toast with poached egg, the bircher and a crossiant with jam.<br/>The positives - the coffee was pretty great and the service was efficient.<br/>The negatives - The background noise was so very loud and distracting when seated in the back area that we could not comfortably have a conversation. The Bircher was incredibly disappointing, I was expecting at least some fresh fruit, instead an overly yoghurty experience which I felt feel short of the mark. <br/>

Despite this place being packed to the rafters at 10am on a Sunday, my friends and I were quickly ushered to a seat, had our coffee orders taken swiftly and said coffee arriving shortly after that. None of us could resist the lure of the baked eggs with halloumi, so we placed an order for three. The coffee by Five Senses was okay. It wasn't my favourite ever, but any coffee is good coffee so it was passable. The eggs were really amazing. The perfect blend of tomato-y goodness with the saltiness from the halloumi. The Turkish bread it was served with was exceptional (and came with butter - amazing!). I could definitely have gone a few extra slices. Really great option in the Malvern area.

Malvern is a suburb little class or appeal to anyone below the age of 104 but thankfully Eden lives up to its name and serves as a cafe paradise in an otherwise claustrophobic street of poor park jobs and endless hairdressers. The rustic semi-industrial decor makes the busy environment feel comforting rather than busy, the staff are on top of their game and the food, though predictable, goes that little bit further to impress and delight than most other cafes of Eden’s type. Surely a beacon of light that everyone who stumbles into Malvern must visit.

The crew in this busy place know their stuff, it’s a slick operation. I chose The Recovery, rosti, spinach, tomato, avo poached eggs and hollandaise. The flavours and textures were great, but the dish was only tepid. Probably because slabs of raw tomato from the fridge were used. They needed a flash in the pan first. <br/>
Sweetoothbrunches
I went to this place on a family brunch and was left highly satisfied with my meal. I ordered the garden breakfast which consisted of poached eggs, asparagus, tomato, avocado and a quinoa salad. Additionally their other dishes presented well and everyone left happy with what they chose. I would definitely recommend this place for brunch.

To start off let me just say - the bacon sandwich is amazing, best brunch feed out there and is the reason I keep coming back! Coffee too is pretty damn good. Unfortunately, when it comes to floor staff there are either never enough on or the ones that are - are slightly inattentive. Somehow always feel like I’m imposing when I ask for more water or a menu. It’s not enough to keep me away though! Food quality is worth other shortcomings.

This place is owned by a young friendly chap. Service is good, great coffee and great foods. My fav is their french toast, absolutely delicious.

Looking for a late lunch on Glenferrie Road we stopped at Eden due to its high zomato rating. Unfortunately not a great experience. The place was busy and decor nice enough but we sat down to a dirty table. We started by ordering 3 coffees and unfortunately only received 2 coffees. Then my friend noticed a heap of floaties in his water and when we checked the bottle it was full of floaties as well. The staff once told did bring a clean bottle but at that point we decided not to order any food. We promptly paid for the 2 coffees and left. Maybe they just had a bad day.
Who Loves Good Food
A good size cafe. We had the Bacon sandwich which had a potato rosti & bacon as filling, interesting. Liked the Leek & sweet potato soup with Turkish bread.
Mustard
Had coffee with Timinmelbourne and got a regular latte, couldn't fault it (the coffee and the company). Wish I could of tried more of their menu to give a more comprehensive review. From the look of their menu it's nothing too over the top but more safe and standard.
Timinmelbourne
Called in here for a coffee. I had a strong skinny latte and it was good to be greeted by a friendly lady. <br/><br/>The service was great and the coffee really good. This cafe once again was really busy and the food looked amazing, so I’d like to try some next time. <br/><br/>I was lucky enough to share a coffee w Mustard who was cheery happy company. Hahaha <br/><br/>Definitely worth a visit.

Been here 3 times now <br/>Discovered by accident just driving around on a Sunday <br/>The Ruben sandwich was the tastiest sandwich I’ve ever had<br/>Local meat as well <br/>Fresh juices<br/>Great coffee and atmosphere <br/>Certainly not pretentious <br/>Cold brew is refreshing too

So we were in Malvern looking for a place to eat and came across Eden Espresso. A quick check on Zomato said it was rated really high so we didn’t even bother looking at the menu and walked right in.<br/><br/>Given it was late I asked one of the staff who greeted us if their kitchen was still open for food. She asked me what time it was and I said 3:15 PM, so she said we still had 15 minutes to order food which was fine for us. BUT... she just promptly walked away from us and didn’t even seat us! So we stood there thinking okay that was weird. Then a guy from the back yelled out hello and said we could sit anywhere. All the tables were still dirty and hadn’t been wiped so we picked the table with the least crumbs on it.<br/><br/>We ended up having to get our own menu and just shared it between us. I was starting to think at this point that maybe it was self serve there? Not sure...<br/><br/>Anyway, the menu mainly focused on breakfast so pretty much all the dishes had poached eggs. Nothing special stood out for us so Davin ordered the Bacon Benedict which had poached eggs, hollandaise sauce, bacon and spinach. The bacon was cooked in dirty oil as it was quite black or charred and surprisingly it was barely warm. I ordered the Recovery which had poached eggs, hollandaise sauce, avocado, tomato on a potato rosti and smoked salmon. The potato rosti was so overcooked that it was hard and tasted burnt. I tried to eat the first one but couldn’t finish the second one because every bite was horrid and all I could taste was the burnt rosti. <br/><br/>The only good thing there was their fresh juices. Also the whole time we were there it sounded like someone kept dropping something in the back cause we kept hearing this loud metal clanging noise every few minutes so people kept flinching everytime it dropped. I was thinking of getting a coffee but after all that commotion just wanted to get out of there.<br/><br/>Overall, we didn’t have the best experience. Service was pretty poor, food wasn’t that great and ambience was not so good either. <br/><br/>- H
FOOD TRIP
Eden Espresso is a popular café on the busy Glenferrie Road in Malvern. The café itself isn’t very big, but there’s extra seating outside the front and back to cater for more people. Eden espresso is set up in such a way to feel very homey and comfortable with its large tables and couches. The menu options are limited compared to other brunch places, but everything we ordered was delicious! Coffees are also done very well here and worth trying out.
Being Delicious
Super delicious classic meals. If you are after a great serves of poached eggs, I recommend going here! There cafe has a nice environment with super friendly staff and there are lots of yummy options! This cafe is my go-to, and I can always find something great to eat.
Nicholas Chiu
Only had espresso here. The extraction was great and came with a light-medium body. Taste was slightly bitter but yet balanced with highlighted caramel note. Will come back and try milk coffee. Cozy vibe for food and will give it a go soon. 👍

Food was nice, I got middle eastern eggs with the sausage, and coffee was great<br/><br/>However, service could be better :) when I walked in, staff saw me but no one came to greet to me or tell me where I should be seated. It felt a little bit awkward to stand there.

Went here a couple of weeks ago for brunch and the meal was great . The coffee was great too and prices were reasonable compared to other cafes in malvern and chapel street area. Would definitely recommend for brunch.

We had such a great experience at Eden espresso. I took the build-your-own option and got poached eggs on sourdough with spinach and roasted tomatoes. Everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly - I also loved that I could butter the toast myself as cafes can sometimes add too much or too little.<br/>All I can say is I would have loved a little more spinach for the cost.

One of the only coffee shops nearby without a $10 minimum on card, hurrah! Staff members who served me were lovely and coffee was really good. Thanks!

Had a good brunch with my friend last Sunday at Eden. The staff were very friendly and patient. The English tea I ordered at the beginning was okay. The poached eggs were excellent, both my friend and I loved it quite well. The environment is simple but interesting. We love the place~

What a charming cafe, love the interior. Eden Espresso has an industrial look with exposed brick, open fire place and lovely greenery. The staff were very friendly and attentive. We ordered latte's only and they were nice however not as full bodied as I like. This is only a minor and personal critique and I would gladly come back again. I noticed an outside seating area too which looked inviting.
Homer
Very chic looking Melbourne cafe. Menu has a decent options for brunch. My zucchini potato soup and mocha were very good. The muffins were alright. I liked the ambience more than food. Homer approves half heartedly!

Eden Cafe is brilliant, tasty and a must go to! and Jed the energetic owner is a superstar. <br/><br/>The food design is meticulously managed by Jed andis second to none. Jed and the team really go the extra mile to ensure that every one is seated promptly, enjoyable meal is had by all and more<br/>Importantly everyone has a smile. <br/><br/>I have been eating at Eden Cafe since it opened a few doors up and been a loyal customer. It is easy to get a table and the food is fresh, focused and any changes are always welcomed. <br/><br/>My favourite for my kids is the Challah Toast and baby chinos and for myself would be salmon, mushrooms and spinach. <br/><br/>At lunchtime the soups, wraps and salads are just great. They always have some delicious treats on the counter and open every day of the year. In winter they have a log fire burning and always warm and friendly at Eden Espresso. <br/><br/>A must try!

Best middle eastern baked eggs (shakshuka) i've had! we've come back multiple times and the quality is always amazing and consistent! love it, thank you guys!
Julia Stehli
Very cozy spot with broad guest diversity. We had the cauliflower salad and the French toasts. The former was absolutely delicious. The toasts were good, but could have been a little finer, that's being picky though. Very friendly service and strong but balanced coffee top it all. All in all a good pick for a Sunday brunch. Will return!

Points for: coffee, french toast<br/> Eden used to be one of my favourite cafes in the area, in the old, small and quirky shop just next door to it's current location. Good to see it finally getting more space to accommodate the busy weekends. <br/>The menu hasn't really changed over the years, so could do with a makeover to bring back some old customers.<br/>The French Toast, Recovery, and Middle Eastern Eggs was amazing, even back in 2011.<br/>Came back recently but the service was a little slow, waiting around 45 mins for the food to come out.<br/>Coffee is strong and balanced.

Eden Espresso was bustling at 11am, but we were seated immediately. My friends and I were carefully looked after by the friendliest staff. We had the chips to share as starters. I ordered The Recovery + smoked salmon, which had elements that worked well together in terms of taste & texture. My friends each had the bacon benedict which looked yum too! We had a satisfying and delicious meal here.

This is the place I would take my family or friends if they came to visit. Legit never disappointed. Great staff, great food, amazing coffee and warm and inviting atmosphere.

Best coffee in Malvern<br/>Best service in Malvern<br/>Food delicious<br/><br/>We enjoy EDEN regularly and have many coffee outings here. <br/><br/>It doesn't get any better than this gem!!
TheWhiteSherpa
Eden espresso is warm and welcoming. The staff is attentive and energetic. Coffees are quite good and at par with the best Melbourne has to offer. Where the place has large margins for improvement is on the presentation. Ordered mushrooms on toast, with addition of a poached egg and that's exactly what I received. The food was good, good spices, nice blend of flavours but no attention to the visual and the presentation of the plate. With a bit more of care for details this place could become special! Come on Eden folks, time to bring it to the next level!!
Alejandra Riaño
It was an average visit, to be fare we went on a Sunday at 3pm (they close at 4), we were looking for a coffee and something sweet but there was nothing left, the waitress gave us an option for brownie and then she came and apologised because there was no brownie. Not blaming her, her attention was faultless and the lack of produce is under any circumstance her fault. We ended having 2 mini muffins for the 3 of us, I found it dry and tasteless. <br/>Our coffees:<br/>Long Black: good balance, strong but not bitter.<br/>Magic: the best one<br/>Mocha: not bad, not awesome.

Industrial style cafe in main malvern. Love the wooden timber styling with nice lighting. I was seated but didn't get any enthusiasm from the waiter. Coffee was good and the french toast was well balanced but nothing special
Biscuit Jeff
A decent brunch. Smashed avo was good- not the best I've had but satisfying enough. Decor is stylish, staff friendly, although perhaps a little crammed in some spots. Would go back.

A very big cafe in the heart of malvern. Coffee is great. Food is very delicious and tasty, but service can be a little slack at times<br/>The breakfastpiggy team

The guy who runs this place has been consistent across a few incarnations of his business on this strip. Good food. Good coffee. Good service. A good formula. Good luck to him I say!

Always good service. Menu is divine. Even when busy service wait is minimal. Excellent value for money. Coffee is AMAZING<br/>Have been many times. Have always had the most positive experiences

Came to this lovely cafe today for afternoon tea. We ordered soy cappuccino and hot chocolate. They were quite good. <br/><br/>Have to give a thumb-up for the waiter, he made sure my friend and I were comfortably seated in a busy crowd :)

What a great spot for all-day breakfast 7 days!!! Our waitress was lovely making sure we were comfortable locating us out of the sun :)<br/><br/>The food was delicious, my favourite being the Smashed Avocado (feta, mint, pomegranate, poached egg and smoked salmon). Their gluten free toast was great and The Snickers milkshake is a must!!<br/><br/>Overall, the spacious interior and relaxed outdoor space is definitely worth a try for breakfast. I know I'll be back to taste their lunch! :)
Yannna
The salad was quite nice, good coffee. Busy and happy place for every one. The cafe has front and back outdoor seating space, as well as inside seats, spatial sofa area is good for kids and families.

Excellent customer service. I came here with my gf for a brunch, we ordered two dishes and on mocha milk shake. However, the waitstaff forgot our drink and we didnt mind that. Fortunenately, i got a mocha milk shake for free right after one of eden staff noticed. Yay- the mocha milk shake was so great- best milk shake i ve ever had 💋💋💋

This place is a stand out 5/5 for brunch. <br/><br/>I love this place as pretty much as they are the only cafe that actually knows how to make French toast and not have raw runny egg all over it - this one here is made with challah and lots of maple syrup and banana/strawberries. The delicious marscapone cream on top is heavenly. <br/><br/>Be warned its more a serve for two (well myself and toddler who eats a lot) I had a side of roesti and it was so good. Had a nice fresh herb through it and proper shredded potato. <br/><br/>The bacon and eggs Benedict the partner loves as its a lighter healthier feel without being covered in hollandaise. <br/><br/>Fresh juices are just that and the coffee is great too. Staff here are some of the best in the cafe industry in the area, always smiling and there to say hi too - very welcoming!
Tabi Ei
the cafe has a very cosy and cute ambiance. the little back yard was beautiful and sunny when we were there. we had the quinoa and cauliflower salad which was amazing, generous portion and well-priced. and the smashed avocado which was also well made and tasty. The service was quick and the staff were nice and friendly.

Eden Espresso is the best breakfast place this of town, it's up there with Pour Kids and I really like that place! They offer a great traditional breakfast menu with a modern take, using fresh ingredients and quality service. The waiters are more then happy to have conversation with you and make that extra effort to get to know a bit about you. On one occasion I overheard a waitress make some new friends with a lovely elderly pair of ladies that had just sat down. The Waitress and her new friends sounded like they had known each other for a long time. This will be my new "goto" spot for breakfast!! Oh also they skip on the hollandaise sauce a little bit BUT I'm sure you can ask for more!
Lole Lole Lole
Busy place but service is really quick. Their coffee is amazing and they have almond milk (super!!). Ordered the recovery - potato rosti with sliced avo, tomato and poached eggs.. very filling, very satisfied. Will definitely come back.
Munching Melbourne
This café has a cosy ambience with plenty of seating. We were seated immediately and had prompt service. The chai latte was tasteless; pretty much was just warmed milk. Our challah French toast was appetizing but needed much more strawberry and banana. Menu items are breakfast classics but...
Ava
Very nice place, although a bit pricey. The place is very busy even on a weekday. Lunch taste great, but nothing outstanding. The staff was nice and accommodating eventhough i had a big pram taking up a lot of precious space.

Great local cafe. No ques ✔️👍🏼<br/>guaranteed an exceptional coffee with great service.<br/>Food great. Well priced and decent portions. Loved the inside as they had a the heaters going so was nice a cozy. Our waiter was lovely and loved the jokes ☺️ I want to come back and try the French toast

Friendly staff, beautiful smooth coffee which was strong but not bitter, delicious soy milk and a really cool space (looks like a warehouse!)

It's a really small charming place. And if you like your scrambled eggs and sides for breakfast this is the place I would recommend you to go.<br/><br/>The Olive toast is nice too :)
Aimee
This place is a hidden gem in the busy street of Malvern. Beautiful place with absolutely delicious breakfast. French toast is yum and so is the recovery with avocado and potato rosti. Coffee is good too. Will come back.
Lulu T. Legrand
I was looking forward to visiting Eden as is always very busy and, on weekends, has people waiting to be seated.<br/><br/>The place is very vibrant, has great ambience and vibe, and plenty of seating areas.<br/><br/>The menu was average for breakfast, and tiny for lunch, with no specials of the day except for the soup mentioned in the menu. It was mostly  everybody's favourites plus the usual baked eggs (Portuguese here) and a South-African dish.<br/><br/>I had the Revive breakfast: potato rosti on the base, tomato, avo, baby spinach and two poached eggs layered up.  The eggs were perfectly poached, so I always appreciate that; however, the rosti was a bit black and stiff. I love rosti and  crunchy stuff, but this was a bit hard .  Overall was a nice dish,  the same sort of food you find elsewhere but way pricier. Perhaps I chose the wrong dish and the others are super-duper?<br/><br/>The Five-Senses Coffee well prepared but too milky and tasteless even without sugar.  My senses were untouched.<br/><br/>The staff were very friendly and lovely.<br/><br/>Service needs to resolve a few issues:<br/>> People queuing for takeaway and dine-in aren't separated, so there is confusion among them and among the staff about who is who.<br/>> This being the case, I arrived, took an empty table not realising that there was a couple waiting. We sorted the issue among ourselves in the nicest possible way, but one of the waitress said to another that we were fighting for the table... <br/>> It took them about 10 minutes to have a spare menu to hand me in. Really. A normal printer would do the trick and they'd have more  menus printed for those moments when many people go in at the same time, like on weekends.  <br/><br/>A nice place overall, but not worth going there on purpose.

Great atmosphere and great service. The bacon avo and potato toasted sandwich was to die for 😆😆 coffee was delicious but still not better than my fave local shop in Glen Waverley.
J0yy173
So appreciated the fast, efficient service as the empty belly was protesting and the only vacant table was outside. What a bonus that the Middle Eastern eggs with toasted Turkish bread was delicious. I can never have too much haloumi and they were generous. It all arrived before I thought it was possible. Happy discovery.
Christina
Homely little restaurant with rich warm food. Ordered a soup which was so tasty I nearly licked the bowl! Waitress was lovely and genuinely friendly and very sweet. Prices were great too for the area. Highly rec.

This place has potential but isn't quiet there. Coffee was bitter and eggs over cooked. A cute place and the flavours were there. If the staff took a bit more time to put more care into it, it could be great. Don't feel the need to come back unfortunately.
Littleguy11
Nothing special, found the smashed avocado bland and watery texture, my poached egg was also only just cooked and white a little raw. Won't be rushing back, so many better places in Melbourne. Th atmosphere was the only good thing in from my experience.
Susie Demery
Yum ! Love this place. The right ambience goes along way, music just at the right level, great coffee with efficient and friendly staff. The French toast is amazingly great for a sweet tooth and the bacon Benedict is another goodie. A firm favourite of mine.
Bon Bon
Was here last month for a quick breakfast before work. Probably I ordered the wrong dish,I wasn't really enjoying the breakfast that I had. I ordered the banana French toast with mascapone cream. I think it was simply too sweet and rich. Would be better to have ice cream or ricotta cheese to go with the toast as it also had maple syrup . Anyway, will still be back to try out other dishes.
Mikaela Atlanta Fent
OK...Everytime I go here it's just OK. Service is lovely but inconsistent, I had to get my own menu and ask for cutlery for breakfast on my latest visit. Food was OK and the coffee was good.
Piero Pellegrini
Shocking service. I have just entered the place , stood in front of the main counter, 3 people behind chatting and a girl at the register fixing up bills. No one asked if I was ok, all I needed was a table for 6 for breakfast. Terrible service, they should have someone at the door.<br/>Anyhow , we are around the corner now, where we have been greeted as we walked in!!<br/>

I had such high hopes. <br/><br/>Arrived with my wife and daughter for a Sunday breakfast. Friendly greeting and easy coffee orders. Then we ordered breakfast. And waited. And waited. And waited. Finally a waitress came by, apologized, and said it would only be a couple more minutes for our food. What finally arrived seemed very rushed - as if they forgot our order and had to rush to compensate. The avo on toast was very average. I'd describe it as a scoop of green gelatinous mass sitting atop barely toasted bread with a lukewarm egg to match. Not on par with other local offerings. <br/><br/>I appreciate that there are very likely good people working hard to provide what they think is a good experience. I wanted so much for this place to rock, but at their present level of quality and price point, there's just no way I can recommend it.
Zakibites
Not sure about the breakfast but if you just wanna grab a coffee, it seems it's not the right place to go. :( my flatwhite tastes flavorless like a mix of skimmed milk and 5 drops of coffee. Sorry man but that's true.
MalvernCustomer
Cool atmosphere and the breakfast is one of the best in the area. New venue means the kitchen is under more stress do meals were taking a little longer than usual, but that could just be teething problems. Great work guys.

After moving to the new venue, I tried a cup of cappuccino at Eden Espresso. They used to serve very good coffee, but sadly something happened to them....their coffee had changed. I was sad to find that they changed their food menu too.

This place was okay, the food was nice and the coffee was pretty good. Just the service was a bit average and came across as a bit unfriendly.
GM1
All was fine until we were kicked out after 45 minutes on a day where the restaurant was not busy and there was no one waiting for a table. We found it rude and will not be returning.
Morning Star
After a relationship lasting many years, Eden Espresso and I have decided to amicably separate. They don't serve muesli, granola or any savoury baked products. Even croissants were taken off for a version with chocolate. They have enough customers content with sugar and fried food, good on them, no complaint, but it's not for me. Goodbye Eden

Busy and bustling fairly typical Glenferrie Road cafe.  Prompt and attentive service.  Food was nice but nothing out of the ordinary.  Seems to always be open on public holidays which is good.

Great atmosphere, nice setup, lovely wait staff, good coffee.<br/>Really happy with my brekky - the french toast with mascarpone. Great.<br/>Friend not so keen on her pumpkin sandwich. Although tasty, the size did not justify the price.<br/><br/>Courtyard would be beautiful on a warm day, however could do with more shelter in the outdoor area.  <br/><br/>Spent quite a bit of time here because of the nice vibe - would recommend.
DuckieLovesToEat
I came here in the early hours of weekend with a friend. We both ordered French Toast with mascarpone, strawberries and banana plus skinny latte. The breakfast was delicious. I always have a sweet tooth hence I am partial with anything sweet and with the amount of french toast I have tried, I really liked this. Customer service was good too. I wouldn't mind going back to check it out again.

My friend suggested this place<br/>We were suppose to go elsewhere but that place was closed <br/>So the place looked nice<br/>Menu somewhat limited but we both chose our meals<br/><br/>Ordered the bacon breakfast which had tomato spinach bacon and 2 poached eggs and hollandaise<br/><br/>My friend ordered his meal, toast was white and hardly toasted and boring<br/>Mine came with 1 piece of white toast and raw tomato and spinach, thought it was suppose to be cooked bacon and poached eggs<br/><br/>We both agreed our meals were "UNINTERESTING"<br/>We both agreed on one thing, we won't be returning.. Toast was soft ... Better cafes in Armadale definitely

Hi Edan now first thing first I know you have changed cafes and it's great love the new feel and look. But why did you change your menu ??? You are by far the best of the street for breakfast I know this as I have eaten everywhere in Malvern. Please bring back what you do best which is breakfast and great lunch I think you have lost your touch a bit. I don't want to travel to Bentleigh I want to come to you. The choice of menu selections now is not enough and a bit disappointing. Thank you for reading this and hopefully I will see you soon.
Chrissy
Disappointed.. The food was okay, however the menu options to begin with were very limited. Last time I came here they had a few pages worth of food to choose from, which was dwindled down to a one-pager with only about 10 breakfast options.

Worst brunch I've had in Melbourne. <br/><br/>- 30 minutes to get tea<br/>- 1 hour 30 to get very underwhelming meal after being forgotten. <br/>- Table behind us got the wrong meal 3 times <br/>- Dishes didn't match the menu. when the table next to us asked about this they were told the chefs worked off a different menu <br/><br/>I don't know what happened but based on the reviews we were looking forward to a good meal. But this was the worst brunch I've ever had anywhere. It was all over the place so much so that everyone around us got their meal comped. <br/><br/>You know when a bird pooping in your tea isn't the worst thing about the meal that you've had a shocker.
Amanda
Overpriced-$4.50 for a side of avocado which consisted of three thin slices of avocado, overcooked, tough bacon and given the tiny amount hardly worth the $5.50-poor service (or perhaps not enough staff) and staff clearly annoyed at being followed up after waiting 20 minutes for our tea to arrive. Menu is pretty basic, and adding kale doesn't make it 'interesting'. They don't seem to have it all together since moving to the new location. We had high expectations, but overall pretty disappointing.
Foodaholic
Went here today for brunch after not being able to decide where to go in Malvern. It was around 11 and the place was quite busy. Thought we would have to wait but surprisingly we got seated straightaway and our coffee orders taken. Coffees arrived quite quickly and it was perfect drinking temperature. Our food order was taken and we didn't even have to wait that long considering they were getting busier. We ordered the Vege@ Benedict, super green salad and mushroom roll- all were very tasty and just the right portion. Didn't feel hungry still not overstuffed. The poached eggs were cooked to perfection and the hollandaise sauce was just the right amount of creaminess and tanginess mixed together. The mushroom roll was quite filling even though it looked small on the board it was served on. Crunchy fresh Vege together with sautéed mushrooms gave a variety of textures while the sauce tied both up nicely. The super salad was a fresh bowl of green goodness. Textures and flavors complemented each other well. Overall we were very satisfied with our meals. The tables were very generous in size which was awesome as my toddler could utilize the space for his toy cars and coloring books without fear of knocking anything off the table. They had a nice cute courtyard out the back that allowed you to enjoy the fresh air but still provided shade. Customer service was prompt and polite and the overall feel of the place was one of minimalistic hippiness with almost bare walls and minimal fuss on the tables. It shows that the owners are more concerned with their main business - the food and coffee- rather than the fancy trimmings- and I think they are on the right track.
Sandy Pok
Coffee is good however given the price they've set for their food items, portions were extremely small. Not only that the food options were quite ordinary. <br/><br/>They do not know how to do poached eggs, two people ordered something with poached eggs in their dish and both came out (at different times I might add) with a hard-boiled yolk. <br/><br/>This was a much better place when they were still at the old place.
Miichan
I come here almost exclusively for the French toast. I have other places I prefer for a savoury breakfast, but if you want something sweet then definitely come here for the toast.
Sera Addes
A good cafe to hang out if you're in the area. The staff are friendly, the food and coffee are great and it has a very comfortable ambience :-)
Sara Toh
Had roast portabella mushroom with smoked salmon and mocha for brunch here. The sourdough was a bit burnt at the side but mushrooms were well cooked and juicy. Friend tried French Toast Milkshake - which is interesting! It's a bit pricey but definitely worth trying!
KT
I came to Eden Espresso for brunch as a recommendation from a friend. It is not too hard to find, located on the busy Glenferrie Road in Malvern. Theres plenty of street parking as well as a decent sized 2P carpark at the back. Theres a great outdoor setting area in front of the restuarant on those warmer days.
Scrantic
Great place for breakfast or brunch, the coffee is reasonable and my favourite dish is the middle eastern eggs. Service has always been prompt and friendly.
Toodles
Awesome cafe, coffee is very good, food is very good. Try their fruit toast with the home made jam. Yum!!!! Something so simple but so so tasty. And if your a coffee nut like me try a soy magic. <br/><br/>Must Try - Highly Recommended.<br/><br/>Toodles
Merlin
Awesome big breakfast (the garden breakfast) with the option of plenty of extras. The mushrooms deserve a special mention. A bit expensive but given the size it's not bad value. The only let down was that service was quite slow and by the time my breakfast came out my coffee was very cold.
Kaleb Lourensz
I do love my French toast, and have sampled it from many of the finest cafes and restaurants in Melbourne. Eden espresso hands down makes the best French toast in town. It's a beautiful atmosphere, friendly staff, and the rest of the menu is tasty too.
Brentblint
Great spot in Armadale. I don't head down to that part of town too often but when I do, I always stop by Eden Espresso. Menu hasn't changed in a couple of years but I prefer that because their middle eastern baked eggs and steak sandwich are a favourite of mine. They use the dark horse blend of 5 senses and they definitely know how to do the beans justice. Staff are attentive, backyard seating and front seating is awesome, always have a great time there and wish I could visit more often!
CoffeeSavedMe
Great food great Coffee. Loved their outside area, so vibrant and chilled. Like their menu and the foods well presented. Their service was good. I went there on the recommendation from a friend and had no complains. Their coffee was good, their menu is interesting, pricing is standard for quality given. Surely will go back.
The New Fave
To the horror of my friends, I am not usually a brunch person.  But after plans to walk Albert Park Lake were rained out, my girlfriend and I decided to head out for brunch to Eden Expresso.  Eden Expresso is a bustling little spot on Glenferie Road. Melbournites seem to have a love of lining up, and after being told that we would have to wait 20 minutes for a table, I knew that this venue was going to be a good choice.
ByTheSpoonful
...I chose the French Toast. Raspberries, mascarpone and banana? Tick tick tick! There were a family of toasts on this plate (a small, medium and large one), really thick with a nice cinnamon sugar crust.
Natasha Juchkov (Culinary Runway)
Catch up with my brunch girls again. Had a lovely time getting up to speed with everyone's holiday adventures, I'd missed them so much! But, sitting in the outdoor courtyard area on a 33 degree day...
Delightfullytasty
The cafe itself isn't very big, but there's seating outside both in the front and back of the cafe. The way everything is placed however makes it look quite spacious, with the large tables and couches. There's a very cosy, home like feel to the cafe with the couches and lamp on one side, and soft music playing in the background. The decorations on the walls are quite simple but very cool - it is basically large coffee sacks that have been framed - I assume this reflects the different types of coffee used by the cafe. My friend and I went around 12:30pm on a Sunday and luckily didn't have to wait for a table.
DAMMIT JANET I LOVE FOOD
A nice place for breakfast if you happen to be in the area. The service is quick and there is heaps of seating room (tables and couches inside, a small back room as well as an outside courtyard).
Confessions Of A Little Piggy
It was what I would call a standard breakfast, nothing fancy but was still very satisfying.

It was one of those days after the my first shift of work where my colleague and I finally had spare 30mins of lunch together. There had been many times when we’d tried to have coffee during lunch but either she’d have her lunch an hour early or I would. That’s what you get for working unconventional shifts but I’m not necessarily complaining. I like working at odd hours during the day. It allows me to be more flexible with my time. We headed down to Eden Espresso on Glenferrie Rd for some coffee and a chat. The place was small but it was cosy and the idea of sitting down on a couch on a cold Melbourne Autumn day in front of these large glass wooden paneled doors was very appealing. There is no obviously menu to be seen anywhere and since we were only getting coffee they didn’t give us menu either. That’s fair enough. We both ordered our drinks and a dark chocolate and orange muffin to share. The muffin was very large. Technically you could probably and should probably share it between

The Breakfast Melt is essentially a bagel halved, each topped with sliced tomatoes, smashed avocado, a pan-fried egg and a slice of melted cheese on top. It arrives on a quaint little wooden board with a slice of lemon. The combination is a little tired and the ingredients rather ordinary… both in terms of quality and preparation. As for the bagel… well, I have had better. But for under $15, the servings are generous and the staff very friendly.

I love this place, it’s my go to brunch spot. It’s got a great vibe, the staff are so friendly, and the menu is delicious – anything on the breakkie menu and you can’t go wrong. The Challah French Toast is insanely good, the bean hot pot is delicious in winter. And you must must must try The Snickers Milkshake.<br/>
Expensive Delicious Habit.
I think that brunch may be one of my favourite things in life. So, I was pretty excited to have brunch at consistent performer Eden on Sunday. They were pretty busy when I arrived, so E was sitting out the back in the courtyard, where pillows, blankets and heaters are provided to cut through the winter chill. Still, we were quite pleased when the waitress announced she had a table ready for us inside, which was a much more pleasant temperature. Always nice to know that you haven't been forgotten about! I ordered the Middle Eastern Eggs: two poached eggs in the signature Eden tomato-ey concasse, with pan-fried haloumi, spring onions and turkish bread. E ordered the Eden Garden Breakfast, with ' fresh avocado, grilled tomato, marinated goats cheese on multi grain, a garden side salad and balsamic dressing on the side'. The coffees we ordered alongside breakfast (me: skim decaf cap, E: skim cap) came out quickly, and were great as usu
Foodlovesmymouth
Menu is not extensive but their dishes are quite unique - not your usual Big Breakfast and Eggs Benedict. I decided to go for the Middle Eastern Eggs - 2 poached eggs, served in a spiced hearty tomato concasse, topped w pan-fried haloumi, chopped spring onions and a side of crusty Turkish bread $16.90

Delicious food, good coffee. Very tasty food - loved the African beans with chorizo. Good coffee that is consistently good. Highly recommend if you're in the area.
WhiskySaint
Awesome service, food & coffee!. Really enjoyed a great breakfast and the coffee is SUPERB! But best of all is the service! This will now be my local!
Phil H
Consistently good. It is no surprise to me that this café always seems quite busy. Over a number of visits, the coffee and food has proved to be consistently good, and is backed up by service that is reliable, friendly and professional.
Whoisjoe
I love eden. I come here around once a month and the food is always exceptional. I normally get the middle eastern eggs, but today I had the smashed avocado and a side of the grilled asparagus salad. My partner had the french toast. Both meals tasted great! Waiters were quick and friendly as well! We'll be back!
Idontliketheharpsichord
Pretty good coffee but underwhelming food. Bread is crappy, bacon is cheap. At least eggs weren't hard.
Jacqid
Great coffee and muffins!. The coffee is always great and always consistent. They have a loyalty card so you get a free muffin when you have bought 5 coffees. And the muffins are always wonderful!
Magrules2014
Lovely Breakfast. Ordered the middle eastern eggs and a soy latte and it was all delicious! Warm and cosey vibe and great service. The waiter with the blonde slicked back hair and jingling keys looked after me and was especially helpful and really nice to me. Have to come back to try the French toast, looks delish.
Tqfrog
Absolutely loved my hot chocolate! And the middle eastern eggs! So yum! Staff are very friendly! Will definitely come back!
Hendo
I love my French Toast, and this place makes the best I've tasted in a very long time. Great work Eden!
Kintsukori Lambert
Wonderful saturday brunch. On a saturday morning this place is buzzing and it's a few minutes to get a table, but once you're seated the service is attentive and our order was processed quickly and food came out soon after. Food was cooked well and fresh and service was friendly. Will be back when in the area.
Mistermister
Update: My last brunch in a restaurant before lockdown. The Recovery - AKA eggs benny on a hash brown. 👌🏽 service was perfect, fireplace was roaring. I’m gonna miss eating here.<br/>Update from old post. New location is a lot cleaner than the old. A little too cool. $1 for soy makes my small coffee 20cents shy of $5. Coffee is good but not that good. Crompton coffee. <br/>April 2014:Baked eggs, yoghurt fruit and nuts were great. We also ordered hash browns. These are a bit different to what you'd expect. Huge and more like fried bubble and squeak. Still yummy, just a bit dry. Service was great. Plenty of seats.
Bec
Super friendly and delicious! The baked beans with feta were amazing!
Foodqueen
Olive bread Benedict and Middle Eastern baked eggs. A must try!
Jojo
Great service, friendly staff! <br/>The vanilla, rhubarb and raspberry jam on sourdough is delicious!
Nicole
Amazing coffee - I drink soy and it's definitely one of the best I've had. Mushrooms on toast were on point. Friendly, and accommodating staff.
Bec Nettleton
Amazing place for breakfast. Divine coffee and even better food.
Emily63
Really good!. Great Food and good prices! Worth every penny!

Try somewhere else. Eden has been a great place to go in the past, now they just waste your time. Twice since the new year have I waited over 30mins for a simple coffee order. Other customers were visibly and verbally annoyed at waiting also.<br/>You can't expect customers to see how busy it is (read: profitable for the owners) & still wait whilst the minimum number of staff run around like mad. <br/>I'll be giving this a miss for a few months until they get their management in order.
Ashlee Lougoon
Simple but delicious food and excellent coffee, served by a group of energetic and friendly young people! Lovely!
Natalie
Management is seriously stingey, staff is totally unhelpful and the food is not worth the grossly inflated price. Massive thumbs down.
Hungry Princess
Great coffee and delicious chicken avocado sandwich ! <br/>Great hidden courtyard to sit back and relax on a hot day.
Michael Catts
The best of everything!. Arrived with friends(a party of 8 in total) knowing the cafe would be full, HOWEVER the staff went out of their way to accommodate us and that they did! We were extremely grateful for the efforts staff made to juggle things around to help us out, and before long we were sitting down to eight scrumptuous meals and eight great beverages - YUM!<br/><br/>Everything that's been said about the coffee was spot-on! A really smooth creamy tasty blend, hot, and not burnt.<br/><br/>The service was impeccible, despite how busy the cafe was at the time.<br/><br/>My meal was superb - scrambled eggs were perfect, the multigrain toast was top-shelf, and no issues with any of the sides.<br/><br/>Last but not least, a great atmosphere/buzz and dog-friendly in the courtyard!!!<br/><br/>This is one to boast about - enjoy!
Claire
I chose this restaurant as it stated that it was both child friendly and offered gluten free options. While the food was great they did not have a high chair so not child friendly at all!
Alia Belhassine
Overpriced, bland, under seasoned and over done eggs. I wasn't impressed with the service or the cost of such an average experience. I won't be coming back.
Mane VDW
Lovely, safe option always!. If you want a yummy and happy experience, this place is a safe option. I go quite often as I live close by and the food there is rich and full of flavour. You can tell that they cook with fresh and good quality ingredients, and that is key to me. They have a decent variety of dishes in their menu, and they all taste amazing and fresh... Yummo

Awesome Cafe!. We go here regularly and the service is always super friendly and the food is amazing. Particularly love the open steak sandwich, the Mexican beans and bacon/eggs/chorizo. Service is great. Courtyard is really nice.
Elise Westphalen
Currently sitting out the back eating the middle eastern eggs, and I have to say I love this place! Have been here several times, all for the French toast which is amazing, and have always been too scared to try anything else in case it's not as good! The eggs are amazing though, perfectly cooked with just enough bread and haloumi! I would highly recommend it. Service is great as per usual, staff are always attentive and friendly. I couldn't recommend this place more highly

Presentation is the key. The staff at Eden look like unwashed youths who had been at a rave the night before. The waitress was rude and unhelpful, their clothes tacky and inappropriate for the demographic of their customers, and visible tattoos on legs are absolutely horrifying.<br/>The coffee however was a 3.5/5, the breakfast service was however slow with no continuity between the 2 eden garden breakfasts that our table ordered. <br/>Management needs to fix the staffs cleanliness and attire before i consider returning here again.
Biggiechee
Amazing French Toast. Once you try the french toast at Eden , you will forget all other french toastes out there. This place keeps me coming back for more.
ANGRY COFFEE MAN
Moved from Perth. First coffee shop experience in Melbourne and how lucky I got. Possibly one of the best coffees I've ever had. A hot weak latte, with the perfect temperature and almost perfect foam. coffee was superb. service was attentive and friendly as well.<br/><br/>The food was delicious as well, I had the chicken chefs special which had mozarella, and a few other things. It was delicious.<br/><br/>Will DEFINITELY return here!!
J.lowe
Yum!. The best french toast I have ever tasted in my life! Plus the coffee is great quality too! Winner.
DKPig
Not sure if I caught Eden on a bad day but I really don't understand the rave reviews. Below average coffee (for a cafe with the word Espresso in it's name I expected something a lot better..). Ordered the baked eggs with "fresh tomato sauce" add chorizo. Bad quality chorizo and canned tomatoes, flavour was okay. Staff were not very attentive, perhaps running one short. Probably wont return any time soon.
Sumin Scott
This cafe is amazing. Superb service, food was delicious (the French toast - !) and really cosy. Great!
Julie C
Consistenly great. Great cafe, staff friendly and food great. High recommend the middle easter eggs. Always a winner!
Sunshine State
Consistently Good. I like this place and have been a few times for brekky. Every dish seems to come out 'finished' with lots of love and care as Pete Evans would say. All staff bar 1 have been great each time I have visited. Last time my waitress was REALLY rude, struggled to take my order/talk to me/put my food in front of me, preferring the other side of the table even though I was eating for one. My only recommendation to Eden is: make sure you do some regular staff training especially for any newbs. It can make all the difference. I will be back because the food is good and 1 experience doesn't always mean that will be the norm from then on.
Louise Dugdell
French toast :)
Lara
Good for the price. Good coffee and decent food - I keep going back because it is local and the prices are really reasonable. This cafe is my old faithful and doesn't ever let me down :)
Zane David Holloway
Cute, cosy and underwhelming. A beautiful little cafe, with a great area out the back to sit down, relax and have a delicious coffee and breakfast. Unfortunately the food portions where very small, my potato rosti was cold and soggy and the coffee was just ok. <br/><br/>I'd like to give this cute and cosy cafe another chance, but with breakfast spots like The Pour Kids in the area, it may be a while before I visit Eden again.
Barbara
Solid coffee, nice food but the thing that makes me drop in once a week is the friendly young gentlemen who I think is the manager or owner. Very confident and well spoken , makes me want to return. One thing, please butter your sourdough!
Claire Scoular
Excellent food. This used to be our regular and not we have moved out of the area we still come here once a fortnight as it is that good! The moroccan eggs are absolutely amazing. Ive tried other things on the menu and all have been excellent. The tomato chutney they serve with most breakfasts is always a great selling point. The coffee is always great. For us its more of a brunch place than lunch but it has always been great every time.
Krid
Received death stares from some frizzy blonde then the staff thought I wouldn't know the difference between full cream milk and skinny! Yuck
SweetCheeks
I have just realised this is my favourite breakfast venue in my neighbourhood. I try other cafes every now and then but always come back to Eden! The Olive Bread Benedict is my pick - the eggs are always perfectly cooked - good quality dark orange yolks slowly oozing out when you cut them. Can also recommend the Middle Eastern Eggs with chorizo - but only if you love a rich, hearty tomato sauce and don't mind a bit of spicy heat! Service is always very prompt and friendly - and the coffee is some of the best in the area! Now I've made myself so hungry writing this review, I've left myself no choice but to head to Eden for breakfast!
Brando The Pig
The bacon is fantastic and the tuna salad is beautiful. The rosti dish disappointed although the rosti itself was delicious, they ran out of asparagus and used avocado, which failed. Coffee was ok and service was a tad rude, overall a decent place to stop for brunch. The layout and courtyard make a good looking cafe
Shepster
Great coffee, great service. my favorite breakfast place. Try the oats/fruit/yoghurt dish ...
Sarah Acton
Good coffee. But milky/watery milkshakes. Poor size portions. Average staff. However, a nice area out the back.
Rebecca Frew
Very disappointing! The coffee was too milky and my potato rosti stack was very small for the price. And my poached eggs where hard! Again, very disappointing! p.s my partners olive bread bene was ok
FoodieFace
Food is nice but serves way too small for the price! The garden breakfast came out without the feta and only one very thin piece of toast. The lamb salad only had a few tiny cubes of lamb. You cant help but get the feeling that they are trying everything they can to cut their costs to the absolute bottom line.
Lavender
Not good enough. I had to wait 15 minutes until someone actually came over to me! i had waitresses look right at me and walk past me, but still wasnt served. when i finally went up to the counter and ordered, the girl was obviously in a bad mood and was very rude to me. <br/>Then when i got my coffee it tasted horrible! It was burnt and tasteless. I would absolutely not recommend it and i am never coming back.
Michael
Wonderful. I love this place! The staff here are always so friendly, and attentive. THe coffee is always thick and creamy, and the brekkies are amazing. The wife and I will always come back!
Kate Campbell
Very pleasant brunch. My flatmates and I went to Eden for a relaxing brunch and were all super impressed with our meals. The Olive Bread Benedict was delicious and a good size, with perfect zing of lemon in the hollandaise and excellent golden bacon that melted in the mouth. My flatmate had the French Toast which looked incredible and apparently tasted as good as it looked. Good coffee, pleasant service - will definitely head back sometime soon (if only to try the French Toast...yum).
Adam Hamilton
Enjoyed the coffee, but the staff were 50%/50% on whether or not they cared about your experience. No outside tables available when we arrived, but instead of asking if we'd like to wait, we were seated inside and watched the next two groups get seated outside. My partner's tea came out late (after I finished my coffee & food came out). One of our orders came out without the Salmon so we had to re-request. Food was pretty good however-I'll give this place another shot & hopefully it'll be a better experience.
D.
Not impressed. Looked nice from the outside but did not enjoy my Middle Eastern Eggs - it came quickly but the egg whites were almost completely raw, three little cubes of haloumi was not enough and the tomato concasse was watery and bland. The waitress was nice but didn't give us a chance to even order drinks. I won't be back anytime soon.
Coffee And Food Enthusiast.
Staff was friendly but for the $20 middle eastern breakfast i was disappointed by its majority being a bland tomato chutney sauce and left the store with my plate being half full of chutney and a half empty belly :(
Bridie B
Fabulous, vibrant cafe in Glenferrie Rd where you can rely on being served top quality food and coffee. My favourite is the middle eastern eggs!
Jesssssssicaaaaa
Huge portions, fantastic coffee although not quite hot enough and really friendly service. Cute little cafe.

A healthy addiction. I was introduced to Eden Espresso 2 years ago<br/>And I am hooked<br/>If I ever end up at another cafe, I am always disappointed<br/>And the next day I'll be back at Eden<br/>The staff are great, friendly, know the menu back to front and are always helpful<br/>The breakfast menu is flawless<br/>I've had almost everything on it<br/>And it never ever lets me down<br/>Be is challah french toast (add bacon)<br/>Olive bread benedict (add avocado)<br/>Mushies on toast (add poached egg and bacon)<br/>The snickers milkshake is a wicked pleasure filled indulgence<br/>In the words of Arnie - I'LL BE BACK!

I think this is definitely a new favourite for me, consistent coffee, the loveliest of staff and a great atmosphere. This is the kind of place you can take friends or happily enjoy a coffee by yourself with a decent book.
Eeeeeat
Consistent and friendly. I've been back to Eden many times now and am pleased with the food and the service each visit! Will continue to return and eat my way through the menu.
Bob
Great breakfast. Had breakfast today with my wife and was very happy with menu. Especially the French toast!!! Yum!! Just one down fall we were served by a young blonde lady wearing a blue a white top and who was very rude and not very helpful at all!! Overall it was a great breakfast and hopefully the service will be better?
Freepour
Walked into the cafe this morning looking for a good coffee as I'm new to the area, was welcomed with a friendly hello from the staff. Coffee was near perfect and service equally as good. Will be returning for coffee soon
Jane
The food was great but the place was completely let down by its service or the lack thereof. The young staff were school age or first year uni and it was clear it was a chore to some. We had to attract their attention for everything even when they were standing a few meters away as they seemed to stand around with their eyes shut. We had to ask for menus, a refill of water and were never offered coffee after being told their was a delay on our food. The service was perfunctionary. The food, when it did arrive was tasty and filling but alas we won't be back until the service is a whole lot better.
Kmloc
I liked it so much I'm going back again tomorrow. The food was quick and so delicious! And the outdoor courtyard is a nice touch on a sunny day.
Brunch Addict
Not the best or worst. Went to EE for brunch recently, the atmosphere was mostly okay, we liked the courtyard out the back. Coffee was perfect, no sugar necessary, would have liked it a wee bit hotter, but otherwise delicious! Service was a let down, the younger staff seemed to be clueless, taking one of our drinks to the wrong table, and then that table taking and drinking the drink, even though they didn't order it! Food was nice, my French toast was delicious, nice and crispy with loads of marscapone, only down side being it was stone cold. <br/>Would go back again on a week day to see if week day staff are any better. <br/><br/>Potential to improve
Christopher Horn
Great cafe. Eden has very friendly and helpful staff (for the most part). But go anywhere often enough and you'll have a couple of mediocre experiences. It's obvious the owner cares about his customers and it's only a couple of the waitstaff who I've ever had issue with from time to time (long waits for service usually). But in my experience the coffee is consistently good despite some of the comments here and I am there several times a week and have been since I moved into the area 9months ago
Natsu
Consistently great coffee. It is hard to find a cafe that produces coffee of a consistently excellent standard. Eden does just that. Never had a bad coffee from the place in the 4 years I have been going there.<br/>Food is average. It's all about the beans and the fab baristas....
Ceejay
Best breakfast on glenferrie! Delicious coffee, good service, cooked to perfection...never fail!
Sophia
If you like something sweet for breakfast - French toast is amazing! My favorite breakfast in the area.
Sdra
Bircher delight. If you're a fan of bircher muesli you will love Eden Ex.<br/>Really nice presentation. Staff are friendly too.

Thoughts on Eden. Went to Eden for lunch and chose the white bean and lentil hotpot. Very flavoursome but more lukewarm-pot than hotpot! I had to send it back to the kitchen and unfortunately by the time it came back my company had long finished eating. Despite this, the waitress was friendly and my soy latte arrived quickly and was excellent. My sister had the breakfast melt which was delicious! We finished off with a Snickers milkshake, which was heaven (apart from the false advertising, it's actually peanut butter and chocolate, not Snickers!) <br/><br/>Overall a lovely lunch spot!

They cannot cope with their obviously unceasing popularity. I waited to be served for 10mins. One person looked at me and smiled, three others walked past me and One stood near me and don't bother to look up. I had to walk out as apparently my business was not required. I went next door and was served immediately. The Christmas rush is everywhere but some are coping and some aren't
Cafe Goer
Best coffee in the area. I've been coming here for years; other coffee in the area is pretty good, but I always get a more consistent cup at Eden. <br/><br/>The staff are always keen for a chat and seem to work super hard. You'll find yourself waiting from time to time but I've always found it to be a great place to hang out, grab a takeaway or have a quick bite to eat. Yum,

Best coffee!!. The staff in this place are really cool!! (can be a bit slow sometimes...but the coffee makes up for this!!)<br/>This place has amazing coffee!!! definitely put it on the morning coffee stop :)
Jo
Great coffee but what's make it better is the great atmosphere the staff creates

A bit of a dissapointment. My food was slow to come out and my hot chocolate was not a great hit. One of the members of staff seemed like they wanted to be anywhere but there.
Muzik
The food is quite good. Not the best soy hot chocolate. But what was disappointing was the service. Very poor!

If Eden had a café, this is where Adam and Eve would have met.. Cosy spot with quite the people traffic - obviously doing something right.<br/><br/>Arrived at 11am on a rainy Sunday and it was packed. Requested a table for 4 and as our +2 hadn't arrived, we were happy to wait in the well-covered and warm courtyard. After ordering coffees and barely time to finish them, we were promptly seated indoors, not that we would've minded outdoors in the slightest given their setup.<br/><br/>Inside is cozy and kitch, which one expects in a Melbourne café. We ordered and though there was a bit of a wait, the conversation made short time of it. Portion sizes are great (I ordered the olive bread benedict) and I struggle to finish. Perhaps that was on account of the caramel milkshake?<br/><br/>Partner ordered the Middle Eastern Eggs, he said they were the best he's ever had and our +2's greatly complimented the French toast.<br/><br/>Given Eden's extensive menu and great food, I'll definitely be visit this little hot spot again soon.

Had brunch there and it was excellent.

Has that most essential of all Melbourne cafe features - really, really excellent coffee.
Poached Latte
Eden espresso is a real diamond in the rough. Amongst the shops in the malvern end of glenferrie road, I didn't expect more than a solid breakfast. However, a few great coffees and some well executed dishes later, I'd recommend Eden to anyone in the area. We had the smashed avocado with salmon, challah french toast with mascarpone, strawberries and banana and the daily special of Tunisian baked eggs. The French toast avoided the usual traps of being soggy or sickly sweet and the smashed avocado was just a simple, fresh well presented dish. Will be back for the baked eggs and another round of French toast and coffees.

Best eggs on Glenferrie: chef really knows how to cook them. Coffee excellent as well. Service friendly and attentive. Five stars!

Best Breakfast in the area, hands down! Try the olive bread benidict! Tapas for dinner are fab as well.

Great slow breakfast. What a hidden gem. We love sitting in the back courtyard and having our breakfast/brunch. We've been to Eden twice and twice they've been really good with their coffee and food. Their breakfast menu is familiar with a touch of excitement (try the corn fritter when it's on the menu, it's really good). Overall, a consistent and delicious breakfast spot!

Melbourne's best coffee!!!. I believe that Eden Espresso serves Melbourne's best coffee. Big call...I know...but I'd bet my life on it! <br/><br/>I love Eden Espresso. I love the staff. I love the menu. I love the space and sound of Jed singing along to the music on the stereo. I love sitting out on Glenferrie Road or out the back in the sunshine in the courtyard. <br/><br/>Terrific breakfast menu like nothing else in Malvern or surrounding suburbs...can't wait to have a chance to try it for lunch!

Reasonably priced menu, great selection of breakfast items, can't wait to come back and try everything! I highly recommend the middle eastern eggs yummmm

Too pricey. The prices in the menu on your site are not at all what they are in reality. paid $11.50 for bircher (not $6.50). delicious, but too much

...a state of perpetual coffee bliss!. There is simply no question that the barista's @ eden know what they are doing. Eden's competence in coffee-making has effectively generated a cult following of loyal customers, all of whom, flock to eden for their daily caffeine-hit. I would know as I am one from that flock, and I always see familiar faces there, who like me, are eager to start the day with the eden experience. Good coffee can be easily acquired in a food capital such as Melbourne where the demand for good coffee is very high, however, excellent coffee is a rare find and once discovered in a vibrant cafe such as eden espresso, such knowledge I believe, should be shared with coffee lovers everywhere. Anyone who fancies themselves a connoisseur of coffee, should discover why I am so passionately raving about eden for themselves. You may visit eden for their coffee, out of curiosity maybe but believe me, you will stay for the excellent quality of service and the scrumptious food. The staff are very engaging and it would seem, thoroughly committed to ensuring that your every experience there is memorable and positive - that is what I take away from every trip I make to eden. You will NOT be disappointed.

What a dissapointment. I have lived in the area of glenferrie road now for 5 years and know this strip off the back of my hand. i know where to get great coffee, service and brillent food. eden is not the place. owned and run by young try hards who are too cool for school this business is a shambels. the coffee is one day alright and terrible the next (very unreliable). the food is unoriginal and you can find much better meals and take away lunches that are sold from close bye cafes and restaurants, products are so similar to near bye places that it wouldnt suprise me if they have taken ideas from other cafes and put it on their menu. support other small business as this one is a lost cause. peace out ya-all holly dolly xoxo

What a dish!!. This cafe is really lay back, staff exceed expectation and so friendly. The breakfast menu is delicious, we had bacon/egg/avocado on a bagel...cooked to perfection. Well worth going back time and time again, especially in summer because they have a lovely courtyard....oh and you'll definitely have a second coffee.....

Good food and vibe. Has become our regular Sat lunch venue. Service always friendly from all staff (Jed and co.). Spanish meatballs definitely a highlight, and coffee consistently good.
The Hungry Badger
Not convinced yet. Friendly staff, cosy setting. I'm not big on their breakfast (overcooked chewy bacon and over toasted bread) but lunch might be a better option. The bruschettas look great and the menu seems better suited to relaxing on one of the lounges for an hour with friends over their good selection of tapas style food.

Meatballs. Spanish meatballs straight from the saucepan! Delicious.<br/>Love the coffee too.

Amazing staff. Every time I've been to this place, the staff have been really friendly, approachable and very attentive. The coffee is great & so is what I've tried on the menu. Would recommend this little local gem to anyone. I don't actually know where the people of Malvern have been eating for lunch as it is soooo busy here, all the time!
Tasty Treat
Eden makes a great breakfast with French Toast to die for and a freshly juiced apple juice to top it off! The coffee is delicious.

Great little cafe. Super friendly service. Cruisey atmosphere. Awesome bacon and egg rolls.

Tried the coffe as it's been recommended-shocking

Great coffee, friendly service. Best coffee on the Glenferrie Road strip between High St and Wattletree road.
Eat And Be Merry Crew
Eden Espresso is the sort of place you can be really happy with as your local café. There is very little to find real fault with - the food is good with bread from Noisette and Glicks, staff are friendly, it's an attractive place to sit and the prices are reasonable. It's hard to imagine too many people not liking it and it is certainly popular with the locals, filling up just after 9am on a weekend. On the other hand I wouldn't put it in my upper-echelon of Melbourne cafes, largely because it felt so safe and familiar. From the outside Eden Espresso looks kind of ordinary, brown wood and large glass windows with a few footpath tables. I must have walked past it a dozen times over the past twelve months before deciding to give it a try. Inside though is better. There is a choice of four different places to eat, at the tables on the street, a front room table or couch, the small backroom or under the plastic awnings out the back. The pick to me was the small backroom, with its hessia

Surroundings: Bright and cosy with a little nook in the rear presenting a classic courtyard shaded under leafy trees. Perfect for the long Summer days..Liquid consumption: One of the only few places that serve the St Ali blend. Please refer to the St Ali
