Review Neon Tiger - Malvern

Keegan McDermott
Very tasty plates of deliciousness. The mushroom special was excellent. Quite rich but a must for a mushroom lover. The falefel bowl was equally as good, and a solid portion. Coffee was well balanced and served with a smile. Lovely staff, who are attentive and welcoming. Most importantly, the hash brown is a winner.

So delicious, and such a nice atmosphere! Loved the eggs! I recommend their super fresh orange juice and smoothies. The people who work here are also very accommodating and do a wonderful job!! Parking is super easy to find close by on a Sunday.

I ordered the chicken avocado sandwich and matcha latte. Staff are wonderful and the food was delicious. The sandwich was creamy and toasted to perfection and the matcha was served with cinnamon and honey. Will definitely be coming back and trying more from the menu. The venue is dog friendly as there is seating at the front under umbrellas and they have outdoor heaters.

𝐒𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐬! 💕 Just before lockdown I had this stunning & absolutely DELICIOUS brunch at Neon Tiger in Malvern! 🐯💖 I can honestly say that all their dishes & drinks are as good as they look — highly suggest you check them out! 🥰 🌸 The interior of the cafe is also very beautiful & the service is great! ✨ My favourite dish was definitely the mushroom croquettes!!! Super flavourful, crispy & filling! 🥰 The french toast is definitely a chocolate lovers dream ☁️ — love that this dish is not overly sweet! 💓

Travelled down from Gippsland on Monday morning and found this lovely little cafe for brekky - oh my "goodness", yummiest egg & bacon muffin ever!! Will so be coming back for another one next time I'm travelling through. ďż˝ The service was great too ďż˝

A bit disappointed with the food and coffee. Not as good as I expected and the salmon bagel was very skimpy.

Must be one of the best cafe menus in Melbourne.

Delicious food, great coffee& lovely friendly staff! Very attentive. Best porridge between mont albert& malvern for sure! Also excited to find a cafe that caters with lactose free milk. I will definitely be back! A shame the donut trade only occurs on a weekend. But now ive made a visit.. i maybe tempted to make the drive on a weekend ;)

A big hello and welcome to Malvern, Neon Tiger! Delicious food, great coffee, friendly staff. Different yet equally trendy vibe to it's brother cafe Mr Brightside. Will definitely be back... very soon.

Awesome cafe Great staff Great food Great coffee 5 stars

Wanted to give this place a higher score given the great reviews! Unfortunately had overpriced and dry pastries and the staff seemed more interested chatting to each other than serving customers.

We tried a combination of dishes. The sweetest being the French toast, a perfect summery treat that will tickle every taste bud. The açai is lovely and refreshing, a great healthy option. Can’t go wrong with the smashed avo, we added the bacon and probably the best bacon I’ve ever had! So crispy and juicy. The salad bowls consisted of super fresh ingredients with a nice variety of flavours and textures. Very lovely and efficient staff. And a gorgeous cafe to eat at! Highly recommend.

Walk in and be amazed with the most open and spacious cafe. Well decorated interior, open windows with indoor and outdoor seating.<br/><br/>Challah French toast - thick sesame egg battered toast with the most caramelized banana, strawberry, dates and sugar coasted cashews. The butterscotch sauce drizzled well over the toast and added a sweetness to the dish<br/><br/>Asian goodness bowl - the most packed and well valued bowl I've seen. Large portions, well arranged, the poached chicken was so tender and juicy. Each topping had its own unique flavour when paired with another.

What you should order: their middle eastern / asian goodness bowl, waffles and matcha ! <br/>*<br/>This is a bright and cheerful cafe situated at Malvern. This corner lot establishment benefits from a lot of natural lighting, which adds to the appeal of weekend brunch enthusiasts (like me). <br/><br/>The six of us really ordered a spread and everything was beautifully plated. They even went the extra mile of serving matcha green tea with cinnamon and honey. <br/><br/>As for the dishes, I really preferred the sweet to the savoury dishes for the first time. The waffle special was awesome - loved the lemon curd and pistachio paired with the passion fruit sauce worked well. The moorish baked eggs was a little different - lots of chickpeas and we wished there was more sauce to pair with our delicious toast! The goodness green and middle eastern bowls were healthy, filling and packed with a lot of flavour.<br/>Thanks for having us, we enjoyed the service, ambience and food here! &hearts;️<br/>*<br/>Taste: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️<br/>Ambience: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️<br/>Presentation: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️<br/>Price: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️<br/>Service: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Venue and menu were both nice! We had however ordered our food before many others in the restaurant and received it much later than they did. We had to ask about the whereabouts of our food (standard eggs on toast mind you) after 40 minutes of waiting, with the workers stating that it was ‘coming’. Received it about 10 minutes after that and all they could say was that they should’ve followed up with us. Food was okay! But definitely not worth nearly an hour wait.

I was a big fan of the creative decor of this cafe, from the tiger printed windows to the white panels on the interior ceiling.<br/><br/>The owner Paul was really friendly and helpful in explaining the menu and offering some recommendations based on our preferences.<br/><br/>I started off my meal with the<br/>Waffles with mango curd, raspberry coulis, passionfruit caramel, roasted coconut and vanilla ice cream. These waffles were part of the ever evolving specials menu created at the cafĂŠ. I loved the combination of both smokey and fruity flavours all soaked up by the tasty waffles!<br/><br/>The presentation of food at this cafĂŠ was really thoughtful, especially when I enjoyed my second meal of the day Pumpkin Fritters with smashed minted peas, goats chevre, poached eggs, crispy kale, soft herbs and seed and nut crumb. This was a fantastic way to get a refreshing and healthy vegetable fix! The minted peas and goats chevre complemented each other perfectly and the egg was poached just the right amount!<br/><br/>Other meals featured on photos include:<br/>Challah French Toast with grilled bananas, candied walnuts, megjool dates and butterscotch sauce<br/><br/>Honey CrĂŠmeux with buckwheat & quinoa granola, poached pear, roasted rhubarb, raspberry chia jam, honeycomb and lemon balm<br/><br/>Moorish Baked Eggs with tomato, capsicums and harissa ragu, braised chickpeas, spinach, labne, za'tar, toast<br/><br/>Asian Goodness Bowl with tamari brown rice, house ferment kimchi, broccoli, miso pumpkin, beanshoots, pickled cabbage, edamame and roasted sesame dressing.

I visited Neon Tiger for the second time and was just as impressed as I was the first time. The menu is Middle Eastern & Asian inspired, which is just such a delicious combination. We ordered:<br/><br/>Honey Cremeux <br/>Middle Eastern Bowl <br/>Asian Goodness Bowl <br/>Challah French Toast <br/>Moorish Baked Eggs <br/>Pumpkin Fritters <br/><br/>Every single dish was outstanding. It has made my return to Neon Tiger impossible because now I want them all AND everything I haven’t tried. The Honey Cremeux was sweet and light. The pieces of honeycomb really topped it off! The Middle Eastern Bowl was authentic and encapsulated the flavours perfectly. The Baked Eggs were just full of flavour. They had a little bit of a hit to them, which I loved. The Asian Goodness Bowl was the epitome of health goals. It came with a dressing to pour on top, which I felt really took it to the next level. The French Toast was incredible. It wasn’t overdone with a bunch of sugar and sweets, but instead you were able to enjoy them for how well they had been made. The butterscotch sauce was drool worthy!!! Lastly, the Fritters were perfect. They were fluffy, full of flavour and had a delicious crunch to them. <br/><br/>The customer service was just lovely. All staff were attentive and friendly. Can’t wait for my 3rd visit!
Melbourne Madness
A cute, light and bright cafe in Malvern with yummy food and friendly staff! We got the fritters and eggs benny! <br/><br/>It was lovely sitting outside in the sun, and next time we will bring our puppy pal to join! <br/><br/>Coffee was great too, look forward to returning again soon!

Wake Me For Brunch:<br/><br/>Neon Tiger: A modern cafe eatery situated on Malvern road is the perfect place to satisfy all of your brunch cravings. <br/><br/>This funky venue has numerous options when it comes to seating. When I visited I sat at the alfresco seating area which included large wooden benches, which is ideal for big groups. <br/><br/>Neon Tiger also offers visitors a large plethora of eating options. Their stunning all day breakfast menu included traditional favourites such as acai bowls and fusion dishes such as the Honey CrÊmeux. <br/><br/>When it comes to drinks I highly recommend their Tumeric Latte - a golden twist to coffee. Coloured lattes are a great dairy alternative as they are made with almond milk. This Tumeric Latte was slighty spicy with a sublte sweetness. They also have a large menu of juices, which are made daily with fresh ingredients. <br/><br/>Honourable Mentions:<br/><br/>1) Chocolate Waffles: I absolutely adored the flavour combination of the chcolate and lemon curd in this dish. The waffle istself was light and fluffy in texture with a strong chocolate flavour. The presentation was immaculate, with all aspects working together harmoniously to create a magical breakfast moment. <br/><br/>I also enjoyed trying the Honey CrÊmeux, Challah French Toast, Pumpkin Fritters & the Asian Bowl.<br/><br/>For efficient service, photogenic food and scrumptious eating options head to Neon Tiger.

A really solid brunch. <br/><br/>The staff were super ace, I arrived 20 minutes before they stopped serving food and they saw to me quickly to make sure I was fed! <br/><br/>I got the Asian greens bowl with poached chicken and a chai latte. <br/><br/>The bowl was really nice, had good flavours and elements to it. From warming pumpkin to pickled cabbage and brown rice.<br/><br/>The chai latte was nicely presented and I liked the fact you could add more cinnamon.<br/><br/>A solid brunch.

Whilst I have heard a lot about this café, this is the very first time I have visited – want to hear my honest verdict? Keep reading.<br/> <br/>The café’s interior was another stand out. It is consistent with the branding and creates a really nice feeling whilst enjoying the dining experience at Neon Tiger.<br/> <br/>I was very fortunate to be invited by Neon Tiger with 5 other food lovers/appreciators. We were really able to try the menu and see what this café offers.<br/> <br/>Located on the main road, I was initially worried with the parking options but it was actually very fine. Visiting on a Sunday, there was no shortage and very easy to find a parking spot (no cost). The café is located on the corner of……. so perhaps if you’re visiting on any other day, try and find a parking spot up that side street.<br/> <br/>We all got to taste the new alteration to the Neon Tiger Alternating Waffles Special. It is only coming to the menu now and look out for it, because the addition of lemon and raspberry flavours were delicious! A scoop of vanilla ice cream is also served with it, but I genuinely think the flavours carry this dish enough. Great creation by the chef here.<br/> <br/>I ordered the Asian Goodness Bowl.<br/>I felt that I needed something savory, with a bit of nutrients to it. However, I did not expect the bowl to be THIS tasty!<br/>The roasted sesame dressing that comes with the dish, ties all the ingredients together so well.<br/> <br/>Another favourite of mine that was ordered was the Honey Cremeux.<br/>It is delicately sweet and really offers some unique flavours that I loved.<br/> <br/>Overall, I had a really enjoyable visit to Neon Tiger. The owners passion really shines through the entire café.<br/>I look forward to returning and trying more of the menu as it seems to be changing so frequently (which I love!)<br/> <br/>Staff - Passionate & Friendly<br/>Menu – Offers unique options and twists on traditional favourites<br/>Interior – Gorgeous but still Cosy

A lovely group visit to Neon Tiger! really liked the idea of their weekly rotating waffle special!<br/><br/>The interior is very pretty! From hanging plants to pink walls and decor, it's a very pleasant cafe.<br/><br/>DRINKS<br/>Matcha Latte with Almond Milk: A great matcha latte which had a strong green tea flavour, but complimented by the creamy almond milk<br/>Flat White with Almond Milk: Nice coffee flavour, topped with simple latte art<br/><br/>FOOD<br/>Middle Eastern Bowl: I loved the falafel in this bowl! It was overall really fresh & served with a delicious dressing<br/>Asian Goodness Bowl:<br/>Honey Cremeux: Such a unique dish! The granola paired really nicely with the poached pear & honeycomb<br/>Challah French Toast: A unique french toast that was served with grilled banana & a rich butterscotch sauce. I liked the addition of ice cream to cut through the rich sauce<br/>Moorish Baked Eggs: These are very moorish eggs, with a delicious ragu & nicely braised chickpeas<br/>Pumpkin Fritters & Asian Goodness Bowl: My friends ate these dishes & really enjoyed them<br/><br/>Very friendly & welcoming staff. They definitely use the 'service with a smile' model here! I was made to feel really comfortable in the space by the staff.

Really enjoyed visiting Neon Tiger, you can tell it’s a favourite amongst the locals. The menu has a variety of dishes with classic brunch dishes as well as other items with a little twist. We ordered the salmon gravlax, a breakfast burger with kimchi, French toast with fruits and more (they have daily specials that change regularly). We also had some smoothies to go with our food, I honestly couldn’t pick a favourite, each dish was very enjoyable and the staff are so lovely. Will definitely be back.

Very cute cafe, pets friendly too. They've got a nice outdoor area that would be perfect to sit there during summer. Service is very good and they've made good coffee. I was so happy with my meal. It was one of the best shakshouka I've ever tasted so far. Highly recommend to add the chorizo.. Super tasty. I would definitely gonna pay another visit in the future.

Visited Neon Tiger last Sunday after a glorious Richmond Tigers win and boy was this the best cure to my hangover. Shared brunch with some great friends: Siya Thomas Riley Beven Brunchbabymelb<br/><br/>ATMOSPHERE:<br/>Located in busy Malvern, Neon Tiger is a spacious cafe with a beautifully colourful interior - bright pink, I loved it! Paul and his team we’re extremely accomodating, friendly and happy to be there.<br/><br/>FOOD:<br/>We had an absolute FEAST while visiting..we had the Honey Crémeux, Challah French Toast, Pumpkin Fritters, Chocolate Waffles & the Asain Bowl. My favourite dish was the Honey Crémeux..it was such a unique dish with multiple elements, yes the rhubarb was my FAV!<br/><br/>Overall Neon Tiger Cafe was a gorgeous cafe, with amazing staff and even better food. Would visit everyday if it was closer to home! Thank you for an AMAZING brunch with my friends!

I visited Neon Tiger for the second time over the weekend and, as per usual, they pulled out all the stops!<br/><br/>We tried a huge selection of their beautiful dishes<br/>- Challah French Toast: this fluffy toast was complemented by the butterscotch sauce and caramelised banana so well,<br/>- Pumpkin Fritters: the fritters had such perfect texture and the egg was poached to perfection <br/>- Honey CrÊmeux: I've tried this dish before and had to get it again. If you love honeycomb and all things sweet then this dish is right up your alley. The rhubarb was also a gorgeous combo with the honey flavours. <br/>- Asian Goodness Bowl: My top dish of the day! Loved the every nourishing element. Edamame and kimchi worked so well together and the dressing was a delight. <br/>- Chocolate Waffles: I'm not a huge waffle fan but I am probably THE biggest lemon curd fan so this dish was an absolute pleasure. <br/><br/>Service was amazing - we were all treated like old friends from the start (even the ones of us who hadn't been there before!)<br/><br/>I loved this experience and am so excited to visit again (and hopefully have a little more room in my tummy to load up on their fresh, daily baked goods)!

I visited Neon Tiger today morning for brunch with my four friends. We were greeted with a warm smile and was soon given a table. First all of us ordered some coffees which were well presented and the latte arts were just on point.<br/>Then we went on to order our main meals. We ordered<br/> <br/>• Challah french toast<br/>The grilled banana n the butterscotch sauce made the toast really moist and delicious. The sauce wasn’t overly sweet and walnuts definitely helped in balancing the flavours perfectly.<br/><br/>• Pumpkin fritters <br/>Not being a massive pumpkin fan, I wasn’t sure what i was getting into. However the fritters turned out to be a game changer for me. Unlike the usual fritters, the texture was much more smooth and the best thing was there were way less fillers and the taste of pumpkin was just in abundance but with the slice of poached egg n the greens it definitely made up for a 10/10 dish. If you are looking for a dish that has a different texture than the usual cafes..this is the one for you.<br/><br/>• Honey crémeux<br/>One of us had tried this dish before so i had the idea of what i was getting into. Disclaimer: if you are not a honey comb fan..better not look at this dish. The dish played with a lot of subtle textures. The dish was okay but it was definitely not something i liked as much. But if rhubarb/honey comb tickles your taste buds then give it a try.<br/><br/>• Asian goodness bowl<br/>Okay first off, i have never been a poke bowl fan, but this one changed my mind. The ingredients were so beautifully selected and to top it all of the kimchi flavour won my heart. It was my absolute favourite dish from the visit. <br/><br/>• Chocolate waffles<br/>This was on the specials and being a massive waffles fan i had to go for it. The chocolate flavour definitely won my heart and the lemon curd was just top notch. We asked for extra syrup as most of us have a massive sweet tooth and it only enhanced the dish. It was a very simple dish with not many ingredients but definitely was balanced really nicely. <br/><br/>The server was really polite and friendly and made sure we were taken care of in a nice manner. Would recommend neon tiger and will be coming back to try more of the dishes from their menu.

I popped in to Neon Tiger on Tuesday Morning looking for a great coffee and a little something extra. I found the something extra. Their Whoopie pies are delicious. I had the chocolate one and it was yummy. It was everything i wanted from a take out sweet. The coffee wasn’t great. I didn’t finish it. It was too hot, over steamed and too bitter to enjoy. But the whoopie was worth it xxx

🍳 We ordered the Eggs Benedict which was amazing! I love that the apple cider hollandaise was buttery but still light. Eggs were perfectly cooked!<br/><br/>🥩 I also enjoyed the slow cooked beef brisket! The meat just falls away so easily and melts in the mouth! The smoky beans really complimented the beef by adding some acidity.<br/><br/>🥭 We also ordered the tropical smoothie and orange juice which were very refreshing.<br/><br/>👨🏻‍🍳 The staff was very friendly, and we had a chance to talk to their manager, Paul who was very accomodating. The food didn't take long to be served to our table.<br/><br/>🏠 The interior of the cafe was very spacious with lots of natural light. It made me feel really comfortable having my meal in there. Overall a great experience!

Neon tiger has such an inviting atmosphere and is family friendly, with cute little drawings on the wall from little visitors. <br/><br/>Although it is slightly hidden, you must look out for those white tigers and venture in as the food is absolutely amazing!! I ordered the eggs benedict while my friend ordered the granola which were both absolutely delicious! I could not fault a thing. We also ordered a mayan smoothie and a fresh juice which were also beautiful- the mayan smoothie was so yummy and sweet it tasted like a dessert and I was told by the staff that it has no sugar and all natural ingredients!-Onto a winner there!<br/><br/>The staff were also so warm and inviting and made sure to attend to our every need and check on us regularly to see if everything was okay. On top of this the manager was incredibly welcoming and chatty and ran through the origins of our meals. We also got to try a cherry ripe slice from the daily baked goods cabinet!<br/><br/>Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to this splendid cafe and will 100% be sure to come back!

Neon Tiger is a buzzing cafe in Malvern. Upon entering, I immediately fell in love with the bright interior, modern decor and pink tinged walls.<br/><br/>I love the creativity of their menu - a fusion of flavours from different cuisines, and a variety of different cooking techniques. After pondering for some time, we decided on the Kimchi Scrambled Eggs and the Honey Cremeux.<br/><br/>The Kimchi Scrambled Eggs were delicious! I loved the Asian fusion of kimchi, shallots and toasted sesame, with the silky smooth egg scramble. The charcoal bun was very soft and fluffy, which went really well with the dish. The kimchi is made in-house, and it’s not overpowering with garlic or too salty (as kimchi sometimes can be). <br/><br/>The Honey Cremeux was a very unique dish to find on a brunch menu. It‘s so good it could go in a dessert bar! I loved the lightness and creaminess of the Honey Cremeux, which paired well with the crunchy granola. <br/><br/>Overall, we had an amazing time at Neon Tiger. Hospitality is great too, and the owner is very friendly and welcoming.<br/><br/>Definitely recommend checking out this cafe!<br/><br/>Thank you for having me!

We dined here based on the 4.5 rating it has on Zomato. We arrived on a weekend at lunch time and they were not busy. Not a good sign, I thought. Ordered the baked eggs and when it arrived I can see straight away that it was so overcooked that not only were the yolks not runny, they were kinda at hard boiled consistency. If the chef thought it was fine to serve that, I can only assume the chef doesn’t particularly care to maintain the standards of the food he serves. If a brunch place is quiet during weekend at lunch hour, you avoid!!

A FRIENDLY LOCAL CAFE MALVERN WITH AN INTRIGUING MENU!<br/><br/>We came here on a Sunday morning at 9am and it wasn't long till we felt that this is a cafe where locals go for their coffee or meal and are known to be regular customers! By 9:30am, the venue was filled with a buzz of customers.<br/><br/>VENUE<br/>The cafe is located on the corner of the busy Malvern Road and Glenview Street, a neighborhood street. It has an alfresco seating area with heaters available for the winter, making it the perfect place to have a coffee or meal following a weekend walk with your dogs or strolling around with a pram. The interiors has plenty of natural light coming through with its floor to ceiling windows and complemented with pastel colors. Whilst the inside is cosy, it never felt crowded or loud which surprised us!<br/><br/>FOOD & MENU<br/>The menu had something for everyone with a all day breakfast, lunch and a decent kids menu! Equally impressive is the drinks menu that has a good range of coffee, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks such as smoothies and juices. Dishes we ordered were:<br/>SLOW COOKED BEEF BRISKET- this was recommended and we were so glad we ordered it! It was a hearty way to start the day but the beef was so tender and moist and was perfectly accompanied by smokey beans, potato rosti and a side of poached egg. Highly recommend!<br/>PUMPKIN FRITTERS- this was on the specials menu but was told will be an ongoing dish. It was delicious, crispy and full of flavor especially with the goats cheese and minted smashed peas and ofcourse them poached egg.<br/><br/>We also ordered the Mayan Smoothie and Tropical Smoothie and we applaud them for going PLASTIC FREE as we were pleased to see paper straws be used!<br/><br/>CUSTOMER SERVICE<br/>We absolutely cannot fault customer service! On arrival we were greeted by the owner Paul who showed us to our table and also gave a run down of the menu, specials and recommendations which we greatly appreciated. Coffee orders were taken immediately and soon after our food orders. Coming in at 9am, the food did not take long to come out and was positively surprised at how quick the service was. We also appreciated how quickly our plates were taken once we had finished and was also asked how our meal was. We always appreciate this and feel it should be a standard in any quality cafe!<br/>Furthermore, watching Paul interact with customers, you can feel that this cafe truly cares about their customers.<br/><br/>The cafe has so many good things going for it that we look forward to coming back and trying other menu items that sounded delicious and intriguing!<br/>

YUM. YUM. YUM. <br/><br/>What a feast we had here today. From start to finish the meal was delicious! <br/><br/>Insider tips -> get the cured salmon gravlax and the honey cremeux 💗👌🏽 You’ll thank me later! <br/><br/>Definitely worth the stop by if you’re in Malvern!

Neon Tiger is a vibrant cafÊ located on Malvern Road. The venue has a bright interior with ample seating. We were immediately shown to our table and were given menus to peruse. We ordered the Porridge, the Beef Brisket Cheek and a side of chips with a couple of coffees.<br/><br/>The Porridge was delicious. The dish tasted better with each bite. It was hot and super flavoursome. I loved the citrus flavour that came from the plum and blackberry compote. The Beef Brisket Cheek was divine - the meat was cooked to perfection and the hash brown was crunchy and golden. I loved the bed of beans, it only added to the dish! <br/><br/>The customer service we received today was wonderful! My friend was vegan and the waitress was happy to provide suggestions for him. We highly recommend this place!

Neon’s sister cafe Mr Brightside is our local. We feel like we’re with family there. Thought we’d try Neon Tiger today. Loved the interiors and seating outside. <br/><br/>Lovely being welcomed warmly and quick service. Then ordered drinks and eats. Almond mocha, short macc, tiger burger and eggs benny salmon. <br/><br/>I would have given 4 stars but nearly half an hour wait for food when it was half empty is crazy! No explanation for tardiness either. <br/><br/>Tiger burger was good, not great. Chips that came with were fabulous. My eggs benny were served in bread with silver beet!!! Oy vey not what you serve with eggs benny. Please serve spinach and on a muffin. It all tasted great but it was all rather messy and didn’t present well. Brightside serve theirs beautifully. Also a large serving of pea shoots really didn’t add to the dish. <br/><br/>Drinks were good. My mocha not great. <br/><br/>

It’s always refreshing to find cafes offering creative brunch menus that steer away from the basic flavours. Neon tiger plays with combinations such as their kimchi scrambled eggs special, sprinkling fusion flavours on a classic dish. For the sweet tooths and custard connoisseurs, the honey crémeux dish is a real treat. And who knew rhubarb and honeycomb could be so spectacular when paired together?
Maria Condello
A cute cafe with a night, bright interior. The menu variety was good but I ended up ordering the roasted cauliflower dish. The presentation was nice but I found some of the flavours to be a bit conflicting and as a personal preference, I should have an egg or protein on the side to make this more substantial.&amp;nbsp;<br/><br/>Not a bad dish, just not what I was expecting.
Wendyaky
This is a really nice cafe and surroundings! Wasn’t too busy the day we visit! Love the pancakes and the coffee! Will definitely come back to try others!

I visited neon tiger with a couple of friends on a busy Saturday morning for brunch with high expectations. The modern interior and well presented food lived up to the 4.6 star Zomato rating however the poor service was a disappointing let down. We waited a long time to be seated even though we could clearly see a clean spare table (which we were eventually seated at) then there seemed to be confusion between the waiters as to who was serving us. This led to further long waiting times for ordering. The poached eggs with apple cider hollandaise came out topped with fresh green garnishing and was the perfect dish to start the day. I’m sure neon tiger would have been an amazing experience on a less hectic day of the week.
Eat Play Live Melbourne
The all day breakfast menu has everything you could possibly want for your Melbourne feed. On the lighter end you can choose from dishes like Acai bowls with coconut flakes, buckwheat and nut granola, and green omelette with kale, sauerkraut, chilli pomegranate and zucchini.<br/><br/>If you’re up for something more hearty they offer Shakshouka baked eggs; smashed avo with feta and pickled cauliflower; eggs benny with your choice of smoked salmon or slow cooked ham hock. They also have hearty lunch-style dishes like sukkah roasted cauliflower; Tiger burger with chips; or Barramundi Corn Tacos.<br/><br/>The coffee is on point with beans from Coffee Supreme. There’s a good selection of smoothies and juices and coffee alternatives and a small selection of wine & beer. Dietaries are well catered for and they’ve nailed the kiddies menu.<br/><br/>AND if you’re still feeling peckish, there’s a delicious looking range of cakes, sandwiches and sweet treats in the cabinet!

Stop right there! Baklava French Toast! Holy moly it was divine! Using challah bread with a beautiful orange blossom syrup with rose petals and walnuts! The dish wasn’t overly sweet but just a beautiful flavour. Ive told all my friends because they will all want to try it. Coffee was also really good - nice and creamy!

Interesting menu options. Very veg-oriented, but enough interesting tastes for the carnivore too. Great fruit drinks and smoothies. Fully priced but worth it. Pleasant outdoor seating off the Malvern Rd main drag.

Have you ever had baklava French toast?! It’s incredible and you can get it from Neon Tiger ! Just look at that beautiful challah bread, the orange syrup, the candied walnuts and the rose petals!! Do yourself a favour and try it 😉!

Came here with some girlfriends had a wonderful catch up. This cafe is located along Malvern Road, at the corner of a block with plenty of street parking available. The service was attentive. I thought the food lack a wow factor but above average and the menu was interesting. Overall, not bad.

I've been to some great cafe's and Neon Tiger is up there as one of the good ones. A lovely setting with hints of pink. Lovely service from the staff. A well put together menu with options for everyone. Food well presented and tasted the part.
Nini Foodie
Wow what a place! Definitely one of my favourite new cafes. Everything from the super hip pastel decor (check out the ceiling!) and inventive, on trend menu hit the spot for me 100%!<br/><br/>Loved that about half of the dishes are gluten free or GFO and lots for vegetarians as well (although only 3 options of vegans). The owner mentioned that their chef is from a fine dining background having most recently worked at Punch Lane, and this showed in the refined touch of all the dishes, whether in the top notch plating or quirky ingredients.<br/><br/>I had the Thyme Roasted Mushrooms ($19) with whipped ricotta, savoury granola and poached eggs on brioche. The enoki mushrooms were super crispy which was absolutely delicious - one of the best mushroom dishes I’ve had. I also sampled and loved the Dukkah Roasted Cauliflower ($18.50) with beetroot hummus and a medley of grains, nuts, herbs and fruit. This was such a delicious, interesting and filling vegetarian (and vegan!) dish, I would definitely love having this again. <br/><br/>We shared the Baklava French Toast ($17.50) which was beautifully presented and surprisingly light with challah bread, orange syrup, cinnamon yoghurt, candied walnuts and dusted in rose petals. A lovely Mediterranean inspired dessert which was not too sweet and had lots of interesting flavours and textures.<br/><br/>Highly recommend checking Neon Tiger out for wonderfully unique and modern brunch dishes. I can’t wait to go back!

Firstly what a STUNNING space! For the “sweet option” the banana and coconut panna cotta sounded too good to pass & wow it was so tasty and it went so well with the matcha coconut yoghurt and the granola! And the presentation was so colourful and bright 🌺😋🌿<br/><br/>The mushroom croquettes were crispy on the outside but warm and gooey on the inside, the polenta was light and the perfect addition to the dish 👌🏽 the eggs also were poached so well 😍<br/><br/>Highly recommend this cafe in Malvern!

Thank you Paul and team at Neon Tiger for looking after us so well! <br/><br/>We tried many amazingly fresh and tasty dishes including: <br/>The Açai bowl - gorgeous presentation, tastes and textures on point! <br/>Buddha bowl - definitely a unique bowl, with some amazing flavours. The turmeric tahini dressing was divine! <br/>Roasted cauliflower - probably my favourite dish of the day, the flavours were fantastic!! Beetroot hummus, avocado, chickpeas, pomegranate.. just the best! <br/><br/>Another point to mention is the gorgeous and unique decor here. Definitely and instagrammable cafe and the food tastes EVEN BETTER than it looks!!<br/><br/>

Such a friendly atmosphere with delicious foods made simple. Keeping the menu short and sharp doesn’t cause too much overthinking, plus the combinations of flavours make anything a must have

Good venue for casual or business discussions with plenty of space to unpack or unwind.<br/>I tried the corn & zucchini fritters w poached eggs, perfectly poached eggs and the addition of the goats cheese was delicious- but a bit too many snow pea shoots for my liking. Miss 5 had the cheese toastie- perfect for little ones

Cute cafe, we enjoyed visiting and I brought my Gluten free friend who enjoyed the food. All items on the menu were able to be done gluten free which was great for us both! But I mean, I love gluten. we had French toast, match panacotta and Eggs Benny! Check these guys out!

I have always wanted to visit this cafe and I was not disappointed! Love the look of this place, the pink theme and interior looks stunning. The staff was friendly and service was incredible. I ordered the Shakshuka & the Thyme roasted mushroom and it was amazing! For dessert i had the french toast and what I love about it is the rose petals and cinnamon yoghurt on the side which was a unique twist to this dish. Will definitely come back here again to try their other dishes on the menu. Thanks for having us! X

A nice little cafe located in Malvern and surprisingly there are plenty of parking spots around so that is always a plus for me.<br/>We ordered the Green Omelette- crispy barramundi tacos - buddha bowl with added smoked salmon. With the buddha bowl, you get the choice of the dressing which include either chilli, honey & soy or tahini & turmeric (we chose turmeric cause might as well go all out healthy right haha) <br/>The Green Omelette took us for a surprise, like it’s just an omelette, what difference can it make but no, it was great, definitely a must order dish. And also those crispy barramundi tacos were great, especially with that crunchy coleslaw and charred corn, so good!<br/>Great staff, great food, great service. What more could you ask for!

Went for brunch with some friends on Saturday, I was welcomed by all upon entry, and was seated promptly by one of the waitresses. My coffee order was taken and we were given some time to decide (wasn’t sure what we felt like as we’d never been before). After reading through the menu I was tossing up between the sweet potato and carrot fritters and the smashed avocado, and decided on the avo.<br/><br/>I made the right decision! When my dish arrived I was pleasantly surprised at the generous serving of avocado (some places I’ve been are very stingy), and I struggled to get through it all! The additions of pickled cauliflower and beetroot were refreshing and mixed well with the avocado, lemon juice and feta flavour. <br/><br/>Overall my experience here was wonderful, and will definitely be coming back!

Another one of those Instagram pretty cafes. Sure the staff were friendly but for the price you pay, at least have enough avocado for the 2 slices (if you can call them that) of bread you give me. Oh and adding 3 cherry tomatoes on top doesn’t make it special. Far out how do these places seriously have good reviews...
The Fo0die
Fo0die dined as a guest of Neon Tiger and as such, the rating does not give any consideration to customer service.<br/><br/>Conveniently located with tram routes all around, we drove and parked on the street which is normally a tow away zone, Monday through to Friday. Named after a song by The Killers, the owners have continued to add to their portfolio of cafes named after songs by The Killers (they also own Mr Brightside).

Odd name, good food!<br/><br/>Came here with a mate to catch up and enjoyed my breakfast. <br/><br/>Fresh delicious food done well. Great coffee and friendly<br/>Staff.

“Far from the evergreen of old Assam, far from the rainfall on the trails of old Saigon, straight from the poster town of scorn and Ritz, to bring you the wilder side of gold and glitz”.<br/><br/>Welcome to Neon Tiger, sister cafe to Mr. Brightside, which has also been named after a track by “The Killers”. It lives quaintly on a corner in the leafy suburb of Malvern, and over the past few year, has raised the benchmark in the city of Stonnington.<br/><br/>Sibling Architecture are behind the alluring interior, delivering a space focused on intelligent forms, and engaging features. The ceiling is covered in floating perforated cloud figures, while natural light flows through the large walls of glass that look out onto an outdoor dining area. Pastel pink is featured on both the walls as well as the edging on the La Marzocco Linea, which softens the black tiled counter. The contrast between these two tones creates a calm and unobtrusive visual juxtapose.<br/><br/>The menu offers a mix of both quick eats and nourishing dishes. I tucked into the Barramundi Corn Tacos, and had a nibble at the warming Shakshouka, whilst eyeing off the Banana and Coconut Panna Cotta.<br/><br/>Coffee is sourced from Coffee Supreme and extracted through the La Marzocco Linea PB. The house blend is Coffee Supreme’s signature Supreme Blend, offering a smoother coffee, with sweet caramel tones. I enjoyed the Single Origin of the day from Honduras as a short black. The Yire is a washed Villa Sarchi varietal with a taste much like Nutella.<br/><br/>Make sure you say hi to Paul when you visit. They’re open 7:00 am to 4:00 pm weekdays, and 7:30 am to 4:00 pm weekends.<br/><br/>

Love this cafe so close to home! <br/>Staff were very friendly. <br/>We sat outside in the sun and it was wonderful. Blankets available if you’re cold.<br/>Food was delicious! Everything came out together and promptly. <br/>

Neon Tiger is located on Malvern Road in leafy Malvern. With a perfect corner spot the interior is spacious & inviting and also has plenty of seating outside if you want to soak up the sunshine. If there’s no sunshine, they have heaters outside as well as blankets which I loved. Inside it’s light & bright, I loved the fit out & there are lots of cosy corners with comfy cushions for those looking to settle in for a while. <br/><br/>One of the first things I noticed was the service, there seemed to be a lot of regulars & the staff really knew their customers. Lots of smiles & chats about what was going on in their lives, very impressed with this. <br/><br/>We started with coffee which was fantastic. The menu is extensive & has some creative & interesting which made it hard to choose. We settled on 3 dishes to share but there are others I’d love to try so I’ll have to go back. <br/><br/>The Sweet Potato & Carrot fritters were served with lemon & mint smashed peas, goats curd & poached eggs. The combination of flavours was delicious. The goats curd was rich & creamy and worked so well with the lighter flavours of the fritters & peas. <br/><br/>We also tried the Barramundi Corn Tacos. These were some of the best tacos I’ve tried, the red cabbage slaw with spring onions & charred corn was so fresh & tasty and the lime labne was lovely & zingy. <br/><br/>We finished with the French toast made with Challah bread. The presentation was stunning & the flavours were absolutely divine. Served with spiced poached pears, polenta & almond crumb, salted caramel, blueberries & crème fraiche, it was a really unique combination of flavours & textures. <br/><br/>The servings at Neon Tiger are very generous, the service was fast & friendly and a beautiful interior to enjoy our meals. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit, thank you so much for having us.

Great lunch cafe. really nice and interesting menu with lots of healthy ingredients and choices. will for sure return to try other things on the menu

Sadly, not pleased with my visit to Neon Tiger this morning. I will start off by saying that the owner of the establishment is very pleasant which makes it all the more difficult to write this review, but I consider my rating to be justified. Ordered the Acai Bowl and the Porridge - pretty basic options which I would imagine a 4.4 rated establishment to get superbly right. Wrong. The porridge looked pleasant with citrus fruit and raisins casually strewn across the dish. Upon first, second, third, and tenth taste however, the dish was decidedly lacking any sort of flavour, and could have easily been achieved at home with some sad back of the cupboard oats and boiled milk. We did ask for honey which improved the taste somewhat, but the dish should be able to stand up on its own. The acai bowl did not come out together with the porridge, and after 5+ minutes of waiting we needed to chase down a waiter to query the hold up. A minute or so later the acai bowl comes out, looking half full, and decidedly a too meager portion for a regular $15.00 price tag. The portion was far too small to be filling, and I left hungry. Coffee art was a little underwhelming. When queried about our meals we did explain the issues with the porridge, which the owner was all too happy to remove off the bill (noting that the kitchen staff must of forgotten the syrup) which we appreciated. <br/>I would strongly suggest a review of the head chef/kitchen staff so ensure that these issues don't arise again, and for a review of the menu. To compete in the current climate with local places that have out of the box breakfast options, and sensational basic options (i.e. porridge) that are done well, unfortunately Neon Tiger at the minute does not stack up for me.

Yet another cafe that offers an all-day breakfast menu. Yay!! My friends and I stopped by this place over the weekend for some brunch. It was cold but lucky for us, it wasn’t too busy and we were seated inside not long after we arrived. The interior design is pretty and modern, with the pastel pink-coloured walls and pastel blue tables helping to liven up the place. And when that natural light does shine through the cafe, it literally brightens up your day. I also wasn’t sure about those circular-shaped things hanging from the ceiling, but after reading about it, it makes sense that they’re meant to be white corrugated clouds… 😅 Anyway, in terms of the food that we ordered, they were mostly great. The green omelette was the highlight, thanks to the flavour combinations and how healthy it was. The smashed avocado had a surprising ingredient - pickled cauliflower - which isn’t something you’d usually find on the plate, but made for a more pleasant dish. ’The Biggy’ however, was a letdown. The toast was plain, we could really taste how deep-fried those hash browns were and the beef chipolatas was just salty on its own. Eating it with the toast and tomatoes didn’t help make it tastier… Meanwhile, we were all satisfied with our coffees - which were smooth and delicious. Overall, I found the service to be prompt and the staff, friendly.<br/>UPDATED 8/9/2018:<br/>After coming back here for a second meal, it became evident that the owner (Paul) really cares about customer satisfaction. The cafe prides itself in producing high quality food, and lucky for me, I got to try the hash brown that didn’t quite please my friends and I the first time. I’m happy to report that it surely did this time around - it wasn’t too oily, it wasn’t too salty and it had a crunch to it. The coffee was just as good as the first time and the matcha latte with soy milk and honey was delicious. My boyfriend ordered the ’Smashed Avocado’ (same one I ordered last time) and I ordered something new: the ‘Banana & Coconut Panna Cotta. I have eaten so many pannacottas this year, but I must say, this was quite possibly, the best one I’ve had. Every ingredient worked well together, with perfect ratio. The matcha coyo and acai gel really stood out for me (yum!), not to mention the lovely taste of the coconut pannacotta. It was also a good call on the super light granola… some cafes add too much granola which ends up being dry or hard. All-in-in, my second experience here was great. Definitely speak to Paul or one of the staff at Neon Tiger if you’re not happy with your orders, because unlike some other cafes, they at least try to resolve the problem for you.

4.5 Trendy, yet homely, step into Neon Tiger for all your classic Melbourne brunch needs. With big portions and a cosy environment, it’s one tiger you won’t mind getting up close and personal with!
Rainforestwalk
We were excited to visit Neon Tiger due to its high rating and excellent reputation. Unfortunately, the service was very poor. We were silently ushered to a table before being given menus. Following this, we weren't visited for 5 minutes. After ordering coffee, we waited patiently for another 8 minutes for a staff member to take our orders. They glanced at us multiple times throughout this period. The staff seemed more interested in cleaning tables that were already spotless, as well as polishing cutlery and water jugs. Furthermore, this was on a quiet afternoon at 2pm!!! Staff didn't smile or make us feel welcome. Customers shouldn't be a burden. <br/><br/>When our food arrived, mine (Tiger burger) was excellent, but my partner's meal was substandard (field mushrooms). On the menu it stated that goat's cheese was included but the actual cheese used was ricotta. This made the dish bland and it lacked a "punch". Also, the mushrooms seemed like cheap button mushrooms, rather than a mix of different varieties. We paid silently and left after a poor experience. Think twice before visiting!
Good Food Good Mood
I was thrilled to dine as a guest of Neon Tiger yesterday for breakfast having noticed the cafe several times before. The smoothies were tempting but we began our visit with a coffee and chai. No regrets with this decision as my chai latte was one of the best I’ve had and even came with a shaker of cinnamon. <br/><br/>The menu (up to date on Zomato which is super uncommon so big tick there) boasted a range of delicious sounding dishes so it was a difficult choice. I defaulted to my beloved smashed avocado and loved the little twist of pickled cauliflower on there. My husband got the crumbed mushrooms which was beautifully plated. I didn’t know you could actually make mushrooms look attractive but the presentation was top notch. From all accounts he thoroughly enjoyed this dish too.<br/><br/>We finished off with the challah French toast. This type of French toast isn’t overly common on current menus lately so it definitely piqued my interest. Challah typically doesn’t contain diary unlike the butter laden brioche that is generally the basis for French toast. I enjoyed the creme fraiche element on this dish immensely. Often you see a dollop or cream but this worked much better in my opinion. The salted caramel felt like it had been taken a little too far and had a burnt aftertaste but I loved the spiced poached pear. Another stunningly presented dish too

Absolutely loved this place. The seating was lovely and there was a really nice outside area for when the whether is nicer. The food was delicious and very filling. Everything we ate we would definitely recommend and have again. Such nice place overall.

I called into this cafe which was nice and warm inside on a cold day. I was hoping to have a coffee and some brunch, and to take my time. <br/><br/>But with lighting quick service and several staff this was not the place to chillax lol. I hadn’t sat down and I was asked if I wanted a drink. <br/><br/>Then I was given a menu with little time to read it and I was asked if I wanted to order. Gosh. <br/><br/>My strong skinny latte was ridiculously boiling hot, so much so I couldn’t hold the glass. The coffee was bitter and tasted unpleasant when I finally got to drink it. I struggled but I couldn’t finish it. <br/><br/>For brunch I ordered bacon and scrambled eggs. This was ok but nothing special and it was on the table within 2 minutes of ordering. Wow hahahaha this is good if your in a hurry. <br/><br/>Thank goodness for the chilli sauce to give this meal so more flavour. <br/><br/>And I wonder why I was given a packet of butter for my toast from Denmark, not Australia or New Zealand even. I am thinking of food miles and supporting local producers. <br/><br/>With so many cafes in the area I relied on a Zomato 4.3 rating for this cafe as I really was hoping for something special. For me it’s a 3/5. <br/>

It was our first time visiting Neon Tiger and boy were we growling with happiness!<br/><br/>French toast - I’ve never had challah bread before but thoroughly enjoyed it. The softness and sweetness of the bread and other elements such as the poached pear and creme fraiche all worked together perfectly! 💛<br/><br/>Banana and coconut panna cotta - What I liked about this was the addition of the granola and açaí gel which made it into a healthy, complex and beautiful dish. Most importantly, it passed the jiggle test! 😁<br/><br/>Eggs Benedict - we had the choice of smoked salmon or ham hock and went with the salmon. It was a pretty tasty dish except it was a little salty towards the end.<br/><br/>Overall, it was a wonderful experience as the portions were generous and food was good! Am interested to try their green omelette, crumb field mushrooms and crispy barramundi tacos. Well done Neon Tiger! 🙌

Friendly staff. Food is always delicious, can be a wait on weekends but understandably. Love the decor. Will be back for sure for another yummy lunch.

We loved Neon Tiger. The interior was bright and inviting and the tables outside are huge and the area is doggy friendly. <br/>We ordered coffees first which were impressive; great taste. Forgot to check what beans they use but I loved it.<br/>We then shared the French Toast, the Shakshouka Eggs and the breakfast Pannacotta. All of the dishes were super impressive, huge in portion and visually beautiful.<br/>The baked eggs cake with a tomato Sugo, Fetta, kale chips, spinach, black beans and crusty bread. A really nice flavour, not much spice for good for those who don’t like the punch. <br/>The French toast was also delicious, a dream for a sweet tooth. Beautiful challah bread and that caramel sauce lifted it to the next level!<br/>The Pannacotta was coconut and banana flavour and was really lovely. It was served with Acai, fresh fruit and a house made granola. A really satisfying dish. <br/>I highly recommend checking this place out!<br/>Thanks for having us guys! <br/>

A great indoor and outdoor cafe in Malvern. We enjoyed the Ham Hock Eggs Benedict & the Shakshouka. Both dishes were beautifully presented and tasted amazing. Staff were really nice and welcoming and the fit-out was very open and fresh. The team at Neon Tiger have done a great job and have been around for almost 3 years in July. We would certainly go back again.

Neon tiger serves a variety of dishes from breakfast, brunch to lunch. With specials rotating everyweek makes going to the cafe very interesting. We got a chance to try the crispy barramundi tacos, buddha bowl and coconut panna cotta. All the dishes were light, healthy and flavourful. We really like the tacos, there is an Asian twist to it, which was amazing. The panna cotta wasn't very sweet which was quite refreshing after the savoury dishes.

FAREJOURNAL X NEONTIGER<br/><br/>NEIGHBOURHOOD HANGS<br/><br/>Situated off leafy Malvern Road, Neon Tiger boasts neighbourhood charm with Melbourne quality brunch fare. Brand new interior is match with a light and airy ambience, and some outdoor tables off the residential side street! Perfect for pets. We visited on a crisp autumn morning and were able to enjoy the outdoors!<br/><br/>Coffee by Supreme is ALWAYS a good start — clean and delicious, with both soy and almond options on offer. Not to mention the steady hands, some very impressive art (see photos!). We couldn’t look past their super juice, cold pressed kale, cucumber, apple, mint and a hit of lemon. Revitalising and importantly energising.<br/><br/>We enjoyed the dense Challah French Toast, served with spiced poached pears a polenta and almond crumb, salted caramel, blueberries topped with creme fraiche. The crumb had a sandy consistency, and when run through the caramel created a great textural sensation. <br/><br/>For something a little heartier on a cold Melbourne morning we loved the Shakshouka — baked eggs, spicy tomato, spinach, peppers, black beans, basil & feta, with a side of sourdough toast. <br/><br/>If the mood calls for warm service in a cozy venue, then Neon Tiger has your covered.

We ordered big brekky and scrambled eggs on rye . Food was pretty disappointing and also cafe, as 4.0 good rating. We would say the food was overpriced, cafe is the kind of coffee that we would not go back again.

A sunny and bright Melbourne cafe along the busy Malvern Road, Neon Tiger is a chic suburban spot with a classic range of Modern Australian brunch dishes – aesthetically plated and perfectly placed to bask in the warm sun during Melbourne winter. The smoothies were rich but fresh, and the flavours of our shakshouka and the special eggplant special were hearty and warm.

I was extremely excited to visit Neon Tiger after seeing pictures of their dishes all around social media. <br/><br/>Upon walking in I was in love with the contemporary design mixed with pops of pink that tied very well with the rest of the decor. I was surprised to find out that Neon Tiger was actually named after the Killers Song it was so unexpected but nevertheless what a great title to take inspiration from and make it your own.The cafe was extremely spacious inside and when you sat outside they even provided blankets for those which I thought was a really cute thing to do . <br/><br/>We ordered the french toast , the semolina gnocchi special and also the baked eggs, knowing that the chef was Italian we anticipated the gnocchi was going to be something outstanding and boy was it just that ! The Gorgonzola, balsamic , crunchy Kale and light gnocchi was a combination made in heaven- adding bacon as an extra on this dish elevated it to another level for me and I wish it can be a permanent item on the menu. <br/><br/>The baked eggs were cooked perfectly with the yolks still runny and the bean to tomato ratio was just right, I did wish it was abit more spicy but my spice tolerance is usually more higher than most . The French toast was one of the better ones I've had this year as it was not too sweet but had just enough to make you going back for more <br/><br/>Overall we had a great experience at Neon Tiger , the food the ambiance and the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. One thing I noticed when dining was the hospitality of the cafe, there was always a conscious effort to ask each customer how their day was or an attempt to spark a friendly conversation<br/><br/>Thank you Neon Tiger for having us, you will see us coming back for sure !

All the dishes I had here were delicious! I would recommend getting the tacos- they were so good! Food came out really quickly as well which I loved

Often order the Buddha Bowl with Salmon. Healthy and tasty. Some dishes are on the small side. Coffee is good too. Short sharp reviews are clearly not welcome so here is text to reach 140 characters

Had brunch here the other day. The fritters were really nice and had a lot of flavour although I feel like maybe the serving size was on the small side. The mushroom dish was yum, tasted more like goats cheese than ricotta to me but I preferred that. Sharing the two dishes was good as I feel the mushroom may have been a bit rich on its own

Came here for lunch. Staff were really friendly and the food was good - had the eggs Benedict with ham hock. My friend spilled her coffee and the staff kindly made her a new one free of charge! Thanks for a great meal. Will be back.

Food was definitely good, but not incredible. Could have been my particular choice of dish on this occasion. Service was top notch, the coffee was great, and the atmosphere was conducive to a pleasant social outing. Would definitely visit again.

Stopped by for a quick lunch between errands, loved the name :)<br/><br/>Heaps of salads and pastries on display.<br/><br/>It was a particularly warm day, so we had the Mayan Smoothie (raw cacao, almond milk, toasted coconut, honey banana) and Tropical Smoothie (Banana, mango, pineapple, passionfruit, coconut water) to start.<br/><br/>Crispy Barramundi Tacos - red cabbage slaw, carrots, spring onions, charred corn, Asian herbs and chilli mayo. So refreshing, the barramundi was well cooked and it was a nice serve of fish as well (not shredded fish scattered in a taco!)<br/><br/>Eggs Benedict - poached eggs, peper hollandaise, toasted ciabatta, smoked salmon (or choose the 12 hour ham hock as an alternative) - hollandaise was amazing, eggs poached to perfection!<br/><br/>Ample street parking (albeit 1 or 2 hour parking) around the corner. Service was so quick we were done within an hour anyway!<br/><br/>Will be back :)

My rating would be a 3.5 but that’s unfortunately not available anymore with the new Zomato update. Nice cafe with very good coffee and ok food, but very small portions for the price. One of the two poached eggs was half raw and the other one almost hard boiled.

Was recommended this place by another foodie and we must say it didn’t disappoint. Gorgeous set up with the outdoor seating with fake grass underneath. The food and smoothies were delicious, you must try the zucchini and quinoa fritters!

The Super Food Salad w/ quinoa, wild rice, black-eye peas, kale, corn, green beans, cherry tomatoes, broccoli, barberries, spicy jalapeño and lime dressing🥒🌽🌿!!! Neon Tiger is the place to eat! The food and coffee were absolutely delicious. The service is definitely on point and very attentive. The beetroot cured salmon was probably the best we’ve had! Can’t wait to go back.

Came here for a late lunch on a Sunday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised. Food was amazing! Really enjoyed the service and the beautiful big brunch menu'
Betsy
Not great, not bad, but somewhere in between. Good cafe menu that extends beyond poached eggs. On my beetroot cured salmon plate, the croquettes and salad were nice, but the salmon sliced too thin to register much flavour. Service good. Interior great. But here’s the big decider. Coffee ordinary.

The residents of Malvern are so lucky to have Neon Tiger as their local cafe. Today we ordered:<br/>A cappuccino and two hot chocolates. The cappuccino was medium roasted by coffee supreme. The hot chocolates were warm and sweet.<br/><br/>I've always wanted to order shakshouka and I'm glad I tried it here. The skillet was filled with spicy tomato sauce, spinach, chilli and a generous portion of feta on top. The two eggs were perfectly poached. I forgot to order a side of chorizo with this which would go so well with the dish.... Next time :)<br/><br/>French toast - served with honey, cinnamon mascarpone, sprinkled with berries and raspberry compote. The portion size was very generous and was delicious, no uncooked eggy bits.<br/><br/>The brekky slider was filled with cheese scrambled eggs loaded with crispy bacon strips. The srambled eggs sure were cheesy and also a great portion for $8.<br/><br/>Lastly, we had the zucchini and quinoa fritters served with spicy avocado, ricotta, topped with crispy bacon and two poached eggs. <br/><br/>We tried 3 smoothies, all equally delicious however we loved the tropical smoothie which had a strong pineapple and passion fruit taste, can't wait for summer! <br/><br/>We loved our visit today, service was fantastic, staff were attentive and happy, we will definitely visit again. We would like to thank Neon Tiger for inviting us.

> French toast- challah bread, honey + cinnamon mascarpone, raspberry compote + fresh berries AND Acai bowl with banana, pineapple, coconut water, flakes, pepitas, goji berries, kiwi fruit, strawberries + house granola AND Crumbed field mushrooms, pan fried Asian mushrooms, spinach, avocado hummus, goats cheese + poached eggs <<br/><br/>Amongst the locals, in the heart of Malvern, Neon Tiger is a large and vibrant café that offers an extensive variety of food and drinks. They have a wide open space that is very welcoming, and caters for different groups of people, whether you’re reading a book, or having a group brunch. The staff are really friendly and offer their services where they can! The juices here are really fresh and refreshing and complement all the dishes. <br/><br/>The mushroom dish was so delicious and had so much flavour. The mushrooms were cooked perfectly and had a really nice and unexpected crispy coating. The avocado hummus is so delicious and interesting, but worked so well with the entire dish as it added another texture and complimented the mushrooms so well. We added toast on the side because we weren’t sure if the dish would be filling enough, however, I’ve learnt to never underestimate places when they don’t have toast as an extra option because it means the dish is huge already! Nonetheless, this dish was very delicious and quite filling. <br/><br/>I am actually so excited to talk about the French toast. This tasted like a home cooked French toast! The bread was really thick and the raspberry compote just soaked up into the bread. The fresh berries were a perfect addition to sweeten the dish a little more, but not overpower the dish. The French toast itself was not over cooked but not too gooey, which is what I love because it makes it so much easier to eat! Overall, this would probably be my favourite dish out of the three that we chose. <br/><br/>I’m loving this warmer weather because it means I can order acai bowls and not freeze whilst eating it. This acai is so refreshing and the consistency is perfectly runny. It is full of toppings and delicious berries that give you energy and fill you up for the day. This is a seriously large bowl, and as much as I wanted to, I couldn’t even finish it! This is one acai that I would 100% order on a daily basis!<br/><br/>Overall, this café is a great place for anyone, not just the locals! I do urge you to check it out, and go soon because you will not regret it! I promise

Great little find in Malvern. Their seasonal specials are great, although not updating quickly enough. I had their hot cakes with pear and strawberries with vanilla icecream. That was a perfect dish in spring! Coffee was great. But kid's cheese toastie (on standard white loaf bread) at $7 was way too expensive.

This is a great friendly cafe with very experienced operators. The menu is a really a mature menu as it caters for all different type of fussy requests. Me being the ultimate fuss pot depending on my diet or mood had a brilliant meal. <br/><br/>The Earl Grey Tea was just at the right temperature and strength. The lemon came out with the tea as requested. <br/><br/>I had the omelette with cauliflower and had this dairy free. The chef was more than obliging. On the side was fresh smoked salmon, not too fishy and really easy to eat. It was served on sourdough toast. <br/><br/>My friend had the big breakfast and he loved it as well. <br/><br/>This is my current favourite weekend cafe and a must try!

Hands down my favourite local cafe. The staff are always very friendly and welcoming, and I love the interior - comfy tables and cushions! The lattes are silky and delicious - the best in Malvern, and their Matcha lattes a real treat too. The food has never disappointed - last time I grabbed the strawberry and ricotta waffles which were full of flavour and very satisfying. I feel as though this cafe is one of Malvern's best kept secrets!

Great vibe and decor, good coffee, amazing food. Been there a few times and liked all the dishes I've tried so far. The French toast is full on and very sweet but so good!

A good cafe in Malvern.<br/><br/>Neon is always consistent. The food and coffee is always very good. The staff are also lovely, very welcoming.<br/><br/>I always mix it up when I'm here, but a few standouts have been the fried chicken tacos, the quinoa poached chicken salad, and the avo/eggs on toast. <br/><br/>For me what stops this place from being absolutely outstanding is the portion sizes, I just feel like for what you're paying, it's generally a little small.

Neon tiger has a very modern feel to its cafe. The menu is quite "typical" for a Melbourne cafe but what they do, they do pretty well. We really enjoyed the goats cheese, mushroom and cauliflower omelette as well as the quinoa fritters with avocado and salmon. Neon tiger has some of the best shakshuka/baked eggs in Melbourne! A perfect balance of tomato, spice and herbs and perfect for a cold Melbourne day. The peanut butter milkshake is a great sneaky treat! Prices are reasonable and service is efficient. The food didn't "blow us away" but certainly wasn't bad. The cafe seems very popular and serves up some great coffees, smoothies, juices etc. they also offer a range of takeaway salads, sandwiches and other meals.

Neon Tiger definitely earns its stripes when it comes to an innovative breakfast, brunch or lunch experience in the inner Eastern suburbs. Owned by a trio of restaurant and hospitality experts, their attention to detail in the cafe’s fitout and choice of friendly and skilful wait staff should be reason enough to visit this daytime cafe. Add some tasty food into the equation, and you have yourself a winner.

With a growing number of cafes in the Eastern suburbs, Neon Tiger differentiates itself with a unique use of spices and interesting combination of ingredients to create distinct and uncommon dishes. Aimed to excite the tastebuds, the appetising flavours of the items we sampled today certainly did the trick and a bit more. It was overall a very satisfying and delicious brunch, though a few minor tweaks would undoubtedly elevate the cafe to the next level.

Neon Tiger is the sister cafe to both Mr Brightside and Hendrick’s Burgers in Caulfield. Designed by the award-winning Sibling Architecture, the space has a pink, blue and black colour scheme, polished concrete floors and corrugated ‘clouds’ hovering above.

My dining companion wanted something sweet so he chose the ‘French Toast – challah bread, berry mascarpone and maple syrup ($14.50)’. You can also add some bacon for $4.30 if you wish… It was a delightful interpretation of French Toast. This type of bread was the ideal vessel for the eggy custard to absorb. There was a perfect balance between berries and mascarpone to provide both sweetness and richness.

We took the review advice and had the shakshuka and zucchini fritter and they were excellent. The coffee is good and the indoor/outdoor seating is a big attraction for us. The staff were lovely and friendly and efficient. Easy to recommend.

We have been coming here for several years. Always greeted with a friendly smile and amazing service. Food is on point every single time. Love this place!

The newest concept from the entrepreneurs behind Mr Brightside and Hendrick's Food Store, Neon Tiger is a bustling, contemporary café located in leafy Malvern. Crafted by architects Sibling Nation, the interior is spacious, sleek and flooded with natural light. Owners Paul, George and Tait's experience operating and managing some of Melbourne’s finest restaurants translates into a welcoming environment boasting excellent food and coffee as well as seamless service.

This place is excellent. Lovely for group brunches, dates, or a morning coffee. I recommend the shakshouka and the zucchini fritters. Delish.

I love this place - either to grab a consistently good take away coffee on the run, or for a sit in meal. The food has always been delicious - I like the shakshuka eggs for brunch or the fish tacos for lunch. Everything is fresh, filling and reasonably priced. The staff are super friendly and the service is great. My dogs love coming here because they always get a special treat too.

Perfect spot for brunch - corner location is great, seating isn't the comfiest but overall good surrounding. Ordered the Feel Good Salad with chicken; you only get about 4 slices of very dry pieces, but the kale and quinoa was very fresh and worked amazingly with the lime and jalapeĂąo dressing (although would've personally preferred more). Coffee was nice, despite being too milky. Staff are great too, very friendly and polite.

A great little find on a cold, wet Saturday afternoon in Melbourne. Very welcoming staff and a diverse and tummy warming menu made for a comfortable late lunch. I ordered from the all day breakfast menu (because, well...yumm) Scrambled eggs with bacon and hash browns. I do not regret my choice at all. The house made hash browns were delicious, the scrambled eggs nice and yellow and the toast and bacon were tasty too. Oh! And the Hot Chocolate! Get yourself a Hot Chocolate when you go. The marshmallows and grated chocolate on top were really fun additions and I would go back just to have another one, it was really good. Before I left I spied the Whoopi Biscuits and I couldn't leave without purchasing one. Well, wow! That was a true chocolate hit. It's not often I say this but that was way too much chocolate! I know, I didn't think it existed either. The biscuits surrounding the massive chocolate hit were deliciously wicked and I would love to have a whole stack of their busicuity goodness - maybe with some vanilla Icecream. I digress; welcoming, warm, with good menu choices I recommend popping in here if you're in the area.

Seriously pleased with the Tiger! Just moved in to this street, started at one end and worked my way thru the cafes and Neon Tiger is king of the hill (funny, as it is highest on the Malvern Rd hill). Very pleasant staff. Killer bacon and eggs and non-burned lattes with a lovely crema. Great cakes and a diverse menu. No wonder it's so busy on a Saturday or Sunday morning.

You can call this breakfast bar 😉 inside is like a wine / drink bar... Very satisfied with my fritter dish - the fritters were quite bland but that's good coz they went well with salty smoked salmon. Coffee is very good! One of my fave cafes now 😋
The Epicurean
An okay cafe. The best part was the matcha latte - beautifully presented and well made.<br/>The menu price is wrong for at least one of the items. (The bill was higher than advertised). This needs to be rectified.

Great service and great atmosphere!<br/><br/>I love the original and well selected menu, the food was delicious and true to both flavour and authenticity.

Had a great brunch on Sunday at neon tiger! The staff are super friendly, attentive and professional, and the food was delicious! I was there with 3 friends and we all thoroughly enjoyed our food. Definitely my new fave, will be back this weekend!

Went to Neon Tiger with my mate Johno and this is without a doubt the best place in the area. <br/><br/>As soon as I walked in I was made to feel at home and the staff were very quick and attentive. <br/><br/>The food came quickly and the coffee was as good as I've found in Melbourne. <br/><br/>I'll definitely be back.
Beausue
While the staff were friendly and attentive, the food was a major disappointment. The salad with poached egg at $19 consisted of nothing more than a bowl of old kale, a stingy piece of broccoli, a few grains of rice and a cherry tomato or two. I just felt ripped off really. I tried to eat it but it was bland and had no substance. Lift your game Neon Tiger. You're in a great spot and could do a lot better.

EBT weak, Nodic Toast with Avocado Smash the smallest serve I have seen in a long while!! When trying to pay with pay pass I was told I couldn't just hand over my card with the bill, I had to enter the cafe to pay. Very very poor all round and very disappointed! Won't be back!

Great coffee! The staff are friendly and attentive, the vibe is always upbeat and the food is very good. The shakshouka is highly recommended. Great place!

First time today with my bestie mate and we both enjoyed the meal.. great menu with so many choices so it was hard to select but definitely will return to try other menu items..<br/>My friend really liked the meal, he said it was a great find... i do read reviews to gauge whether to try a new place or not<br/>so will return.. service was good, sort of forgot my friend's Mexican beans but that was the only hiccup, small one..<br/>overall, i recommend you try this place.. plenty of parking and best time to go, after the morning /brunch crowd... we got a table straight... neon tiger rocks!!

The best part about this place is the staff - so friendly, chatty and attentive! The food is pretty good, nothing too exciting but I would go back. A great selection of delicious cakes too!

Perfect Malvern brunch spot. Very original and modern menu - highly recommend the croquettes as well as the mushrooms. Good service, super cute fit out and nice chilled vibe. All day breakfast plus some lunch options but brunch is the way to go!

Came in today in the heatwave and was greeted to a fantastic new fit out and staff were friendly. <br/><br/>A sister to Mr Brightside in Caulfield this one had the edge on style - the breakfast I had was just bacon, tomato and spinach with some avo and feta for the little one and an almond coffee. <br/><br/>The toast and bacon was crisp but too crisp was hard to eat so I didn't really eat all of it but the rest was perfect and my little one scoffed his avo and feta. It's a lovely location and great to see almond milk!<br/>

Dropped into Neon Tiger for a late lunch. The staff were very attentive. Had the San Choy Bow, Slow Cooked Lamb Roll & Smoked Salmon on Nordic Bread. The San Choy Bow needed a bit more seasoning, the chicken was deep fried and lacked a bit of flavour. The other dishes were good. Good service, good food. Worth a try.

New cafe with great breakfast menu with all the classics.  Had the shakshouka which was fresh and tasty. The service was quick and attentive but not over the top.  Small outdoor seating area too.

Great cafe with good selection of breakfast and lunch options. Very accommodating staff and beautiful layout! Have been waiting for a great cafe to open locally for a while now so I definitely will be back

Nice venue. Very clean and new. The staff are very friendly. The food was good. We ordered salmon bun and eggs with bacon on toast. Reasonable prices with supreme coffee. Nice out door seating and ikea chair available.

Decided to go checkout Neon Tiger after being recommended by their sister cafe Mr Brightside (caulfield). Ordered the parpadelle special with lamb, lemon and pangrattato and the reuben sandwich..and it didn't disappoint! The food and coffee came out very quickly, thankfully as I was on a tight schedule! Friendly staff convinced us to take home some delicious scrolls afterwards which were HIGHLY delicious. Will definitely be back with the family!

Really enjoyed brunch here this morning. The venue is very modern, airy and relaxing  and manages to avoid the hectic chaos that detracts from a leisurely dining experience at many other cafes. The menu was great too offering a range of unique dishes ensuring that everyone will find something that appeals to them. I ordered the eggs florentine with smoked salmon. This was one of the best eggs florentine I've had in a long time - the corn bread was light and buttery, the hollandaise wasn't too overpowering and the portion of salmon was incredibly generous. So glad I've discovered this cafe!
Sammy
Didn't like the deco to be honest . But enjoyed my salmon with beetroot leaves and raw cauliflower, salmon Cooked to perfection. Squeezing spaces though to sit free and feel relaxed((

Obviously some of these reviews have not experienced the amazing customer service I have every single time!! The staff are truly the best I've come across in Melbourne! The food is great very tasty! Keep up the amazing customer service you guys are stars! 😊

Really fresh and tasty salads. The Thai beef salad is a winner, beef was cooked to perfection. Staff were really attentive and friendly. Would definitely go back

Fantastic. Excellent coffee and a really interesting menu with lots of healthy options. Friendly and attentive service, cool decor and an all round winner in the neighbourhood!

We've been here twice and this cafe has really hit the ground running. The coffee has been fine and the food very good, but what has impressed me most is the care, attention and professionalism of the management and waiting staff.  On a very busy Saturday morning, customers were seated and served warmly and very efficiently; the operators appear to be well-versed in what makes for a very good customer experience.

Unfortunately our experience was somewhat different. Our three lunches took forever to come and only after we asked. Food was average but by then we had to rush to keep our appointment. Some apology as about to leave but no real explanation. Touch of class provided by waiter when we asked about a particular dish on the menu. " It's got a lettuce leaf and you just put it in your gob!"<br/><br/>
