Review Cafe La Via - Malvern

We decided to try this place when we saw the tapas menu from outside. The portion size is decent but the overall taste is just average. Fried Chicken is crispy but very light seasoning. The lamb was dry and so were the fritters. Food - 4 Service - 5 Vibe - 5 Price - $$$

Lovely brunch with tasty food. Enjoyed my eggs benny while my partner had the biggie although may not look big, certainly satisfied especially with coffee. Ordered a magic which surprised me to come in a mug. Outdoor and indoor seating available.

Order Caffe La Via’s big breakfast via a 3rd party delivery app. Arrived hot, well packaged and a tasty serving. The mushrooms are great.

First time visit and it's a mixed feeling. At the beginning we thought we weren't welcome because I've made an online booking and the boss wasn't aware of it, but he still arranged a nice table for us. It was a nice place, plenty of space and big tables, definitely comfortable but a little dark. Coffee, the smoothies and food are yummy, rather small portion which is not what the other reviews said. It was a long wait for food to come after the order when it was half full in the restaurant, I'm sure they can earn the 5th star when their kitchen cooks a little faster :)

Food was very nice. We requested our tapas come out gradually but everything came out together. Kitchen n wait staff need to communicate better.

Very quiet for a Friday night. Although we came around 8 pm. Really nice friendly service. The owner or manager came out and helped us pick our food. I wish they still had just a normal lasagna rather than just the eggplant one. Anyway. My meat was lovely. I did ask for it medium rare and got it pretty cooked though. Still tender so I was happy. I found the jus was a bit overpowering in flavour but he had asked if u wanted it on the side so I can’t fault that. The broccoli and croquet was AWESOME. I would say the meat was too over priced at $34 but I guess it’s a wealthy area. We shared a pizza after as well and I couldn’t fault that. Beautiful beautiful pizza. Next time I would go just for pizza and try a few starters. The waitress was nice but very apologetic for doing nothing wrong. She was great just needs a bit more confidence!! She’ll get there over time. The function area up stairs I’ve heard is really good too. I would go back but not in a rush. I’d recommend going with an open mind and build the numbers. Has potential to be a very busy restaurant.

Ordered 3 chicken parmas all 3 burnt tough and overcooked. PS why is the chicken meat orange in colour?

The place has gone down the tube. Used to be really nice. Have a severe garlic allergy, told the waitress and the food still came out with seasoning that contained garlic! Prices have gone up and there is less food on the plate...

Unfortunately, this place is now awful. We were there Father's Day and either they've changed the menu or they ran out of food. Kids meals for $12.90 were three tiny chicken nuggets that looked reheated, and a handful of chips. Used to be triple that with fresh crumbed chicken breast. Wife's salad looked like it had half missing. Prices have been steadily climbing over the past few years and the quality of food has turned to mud. It's a shame as previous visits have been great, alas we won't be back.

It took so long for our food to be served to us and once we got it it was very average. The cafe itself looked nice but as it was an extremely cold and wet day they should have closed their doors as there was a very cold draft coming inside.

Last weekend my boyfriend and I had the embarrassing and very unfortunate displeasure of dining at caffe la via. After sitting down and being greeted politely by one of the waitresses we took our time to peruse over the menus handed to us. Knowing full well what the prices should have been in advance after downloading a menu from their very own website, I decided I would use my groupon voucher to order the full English breakfast. My request was met with protest at first until the waitress said "let me ask the owner" She returned some minutes later to explain that the maximum price of any menu item we were allowed to order was $24.50 and this item being $24.90 was 40 cents outside that price. My further polite questioning led to the owner/manager attending our table who was unnecessarily rude and aggressive when dealing with us petty groupon voucher holders. He tried to tell us that despite not a single word of utterance on the groupon listing detailing the $24.5 maximum and DESPITE the groupon listing itself saying "dig into ... a full English breakfast" AND previous groupon customer reviews stating the fact they had enjoyed their full English breakfast AND the price of this meal item on their own menu from their website said $24.00 I was lied to by the owner on multiple occasions during this very belittling and argumentative experience saying that meal "had never been $24.00" and that "it was impossible that others had eaten this meal using groupon" despite showing all this evidence to him on my phone screen at the time. After ordering a different item and the food was delivered to our table. Then about 5 mins into eating the owner/manager presented himself again to our table not to offer his sincere apology or compromise/compensation for this highly unsatisfactory experience so far, but instead interrupt our meal to show me his A4 laminated groupon listing and further continue the argument. Overall I am sincerely unhappy and very pissed off. I will strongly be advising all of my friends and family to NOT dine at this restaurant. The kind of establishments that treat their customers like that should not be in this business. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!

Anhil and the team at Cafe La Via were extremely helpful and accommodating to all my needs before and on the night of my function. The food was delicious and received nothing but complements on the night and the staff were wonderful. I highly recommend this venue for not only their next function, but also their restaurant as the staff are wonderful and the food is amazing! Thank you so much for making the night special :)

Their function room is great! The room has dedicated bar and amenities, excellent for a private party. We had my husband's birthday party there, the atmosphere was just perfect for our theme party. They were very accommodating, they provide us with delicious canapes and good options for drinks. Thank you for your warm service.

Great meal tonight, thanks guys! Plenty of gluten choices -all meals arrived at once for our table which many restaurants cannot seem to coordinate these days. Pleasant service too :)
