Great pancakes and service 👌
As COVID-19 getting serious, they changed their book menu to table mat menu, throw away every time, also cutlery are in individual bags now.
Ordered a Lasagna pancake, its smaller than i thought, and not very cheesy. Other than that, the taste was good. And it's not easy to find a staff or get their attention.
Went here at 5:30am before my bodybuilding comp for 3 pancakes and 2 eggs. Used groupon and it was $20 for 2 people. My pancakes and eggs were great! Menu is a bit pricey but theres usually special offers on.
I have always loved Pancake Parlour and now I love it even more with all the delicious vegan option. My go to is always the Moroccan plantcrepe. On my most recent visit, I also had the Supergreen Power Smoothie, which was amazing! Will definitely be back!

I am so impressed with the vegan menu at Pancake Parlour now!
We tried Choc Nut Banana Pancakes which were so decadent and yum. We also got some cottage fries, crispy and delish! My favourite dish was the savoury cheesy pancake! So rich and moist hehe.
Service at the Malvern East location was great too. Team kept checking to make sure we were enjoying it :)
I just love my short stacks with chocolate ice cream haha! There’s something I love soooo much than the simplicity of pancakes and chocolate ice cream together! It hits the spot every time!
The cold ice cream up against these deliciously curated warm pancakes is absolute goals in my eyes! Looking forward to checking out the new Docklands store soon as well!
The Pancake Parlour has been a family favourite ever since I was a toddler. I never used to be vegan but I am currently and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the variety of vegan options!
The Alice in Wonderland pancake has to best the best pancake to EVER exist. It’s an absolute crowd favourite it and I know I always get it when I go 💕 Also the student deals are always so helpful, thanks for providing ❤️
Can’t go wrong with their short stack and vanilla ice cream. I don’t really bother with anything else. Tried a few breakfast menu items the other day and was pretty disappointed.
Like with every pancake parlour, fairly long wait during peak times (5-7pm) and staff seem run off their feet. Otherwise, very attentive and welcoming when it’s not too busy.
Filling meal!!! Not a pancake fan but really loved this meal. My rating for The Pancake Parlour - 4/5 👌🏻👏🏻 . Do try their pancakes if you’re a pancake lover!!
3.5
Malvern East ambiance attracts me back to this restaurant. It’s taken me a whilst to fine tune what I order as the first few times I left feeling overly full and loaded full of sugar.
Coffee isn’t great and for the price it should be better but as far as a 24/7 restaurant goes can you really complain? If you want something to fill that spot right at that moment, never need a booking and you don’t mind paying for it this is your place.
Rocked up for a late night snack and this place never disappoints me! Even it was a pretty busy night staff tried their best to bring the orders out as quickly as they can. Love the chocolate jubilee. They do good Pina Coladas too.
Yummy! Fantastic service and delicious food. Came out very quickly even though they were quite busy. Not normally on this side of the City but glad we got to try. Great interior also.
The food was great and the ambiance is set up brilliantly in a typical 70s-80s theme. Unique pancake menus to satisfy both savoury and sweet tooth’s.
The only thing I felt was that the food could have been served a bit more warmer.
I've been to the Malvern East Pancake Parlour a few times after a late night out. Customer service has always been great as the waitresses were all very friendly. The foods were mostly standard but I would definitely recommend the Chicken Tenders and Herb Fries.
Delicious pancakes!! It’s not cool place for one person, but good for family!! I ordered Walnuts one, and it was really covered with full of walnuts!!
Super satisfied!! And they do coupons service, which is great!!
Had a friend from NSW crash at our place and we took him out for woolies 2 for 1 short stacks here the next morning. We scored a booth by the window and went to town on like 4 plates of short stacks, bacon and egg pancakes with a bunch of sides. The orange juice was literally freshly squeezed oranges. Like, I'm pretty sure they squeeze them in their kitchen. The coffee was surprisingly good. We weren't too impressed with the deconstructed style of hashbrowns. I reckon just make the switch to classic hashbrowns. Also, the eggs were a little undercooked. The ice-cream on the pancakes was super creamy. It's easy to hate on The Pancake Parlour's pricing but they don't skimp on quality.
Best pancake I had. Not dry at all, very fluffy and tasty. Have always gotten the short stack, which itself is already probably the best thing you can have for a pancake dessert, occasionally adding hot fudge or switch for chocolate pancake. But thanks to the winter parlour promotion, I had a chance to try out a variety of different "premium" pancake offerings.
After trying Since trying the Tiramisu, Alice in Wonderland, Chocolate Jubilee, Salted Caramel Crunch, "IT", and Chocolate Chip pancake, the Chocolate Chip is without a doubt the best one. The best part about it is the subtle chocolate chip studded pancakes, just makes each bite even more decadent and moist.
If you're lucky, they just might give you extra hot fudge with your Chocolate Chip pancake, which my friend and I were silently super happy about. I have, however, encountered once in one of the outlet where they served the Chocolate Chip pancake without the chocolate chip studded pancakes.
Most recent visit proved that they can be inconsistent with the amount of chocolate chips and hot fudge they serve at different locations. The one swimming in fudge, if not mistaken, is from the Glen Waverley outlet back then and the other one is from Malvern East recently.
I’ve been trying a couple of Pancake Parlour branches and the Malvern East one is my favourite. What I love the most about the Malvern East branch is they opened 24 hours!! So you guys can come here for an early breakfast, midnight starving or even as a hangover cure. Another plus point is they have a very huge place so you can come in a large group, or event book it for a function venue. We ordered Chocolate Jubilee, my personal favourite, and Mexican Beef Crepes as this is the first time I try it. Top it up with the delicious Hot Marshmallow Chocolate. I think the food tastes amazing and they have a super friendly staff with a great ambiance.
But I think their food is pretty expensive so better save up some money then.
I have been here several times and have been very happy with their service and food. The only negative would be their Hot Chocolates and Mocha drinks- temperature isn't right and the taste is hit and miss.
This is one of my OG pancake parlors - I use to always come here all the time when I was a student and recently came back for a late night snack. Was happy to try new menu items and specials on offer
Great for family and friends. I tried sweet pancake medly, and had four popular fravors. They looks small but I became so full. They have prenty of car park so whenever you are in pancake, you can come easily.
Have not been to a pancake parlour in a long time. Great menu great service food tasty highly recommended. Good place to eat talk and enjoy. Staff always asking if extra drinks or food is needed
Cool place in plenty of seating. Great place to hang out with a large group of people. The dishes are great tasting, and the staff is very friendly.
Good food, loved tiramisu pancakes. The berry shake was good too. One of the best pancakes I had in a long long time. Would like to try other pancakes soon.
A great place for families, my kids and I both love the short stack pancake is simple yet really delicious, fluffy pancake, vanilla ice cream and maple syrup, we always leave this place smiling!
Been there quite a few times and each time I've had no issues. Delicious food. Lovely staff. Quick service.
Not too loud and very clean dining area. Great for anyone of any age for any occasion!
We were greeted and seated right away Saturday night and the good level of service was maintained throughout. Our waitor put in the effort to present options to us and threw in some humor. Probably the best service we've had coming to a Pancake Parlour so extra points here.
I had the slow-cooked lamb crepe which was very delicious with the relish. I'd come back for this.
As for the cheese kranksy, this was okay but the sausages we felt could have been less salty.
Pancake parlour is like THE place to hang out at on late nights as this place have extended trading hours and there is something for everyone, be it sweet or savoury. Ample of seating and parking to accommodate large groups of people too:). Regular pancake stack with whipped butter and maple syrup - the original, fluffy buttermilk pancakes. Delicious with a swipe of salted butter and a small drizzle of syrup.
AMAZING ! Went for late night pancakes with my family the other day and we had such a good time. Delicious pancakes and a great, family-friendly environment. I ordered the classic 'Alice in Wonderland', which brought me straight back to my childhood. We had a fantastic time and will definitely be returning soon !
A lovely retro vibe with spacious booths and friendly staffs. Pancakes are delicious and fluffy, and on point with all the other franchises I've been to.
Came to try their new share pancakes. We weren't warned about how big these were!!! 4 scoops of icecream, lots of delicious strawberries and chocolate fudge this was great. Probably better shared amongst 4 rather than two.. The issue though, is due to the size and thickness of the pancake they were quite raw and doughy in the middle. Perhaps better off doing a share crepe?
The fact that it is open 24 hours is a strong point. The Melburnian in me likes to eat all hours of the day. Such a cute vintage decor with wonderful paintings on the walls, lots of tables and plenty of space. Food is good, very sweet but worth it after a night of drinking. Sweet drinks and soft drinks very generous in size.
DO: The pancakes to your choosing. The Alice in Wonderland is our favorite as it brings back child hood memories.
DON'T: Limit yourself to just the sweetpancakes, you should try the savoury ones too or the dessert pizzas.
TIP: Open 24 hours and a great place to go to after a long day at Chaddy.
I had been to Pancake Parlour countless time but it was my first time visiting this branch. The waiter who was assigned to our table was a bit strange...we told him we were still waiting for one more person to arrive before ordering, but he had come around to our table probably 5 times to take our order before the person got there. When the person finally arrived and we were actually ready to order, all of a sudden it was impossible to flag him down! He was also not very attentive throughout our meal; telling us he would bring us water and then forgetting. Same thing happened with cutlery.
We ordered the Colossal and a Pancake Pizza with fresh strawberries to share between the six of us. The food isn't anything spectacular, but its always fun to come with a group of friends and demolish giant desserts.
We go to pancake parlour regularly due to their great hours (open 24 hours!) and yummy fluffy pancakes. It is actually more classy than the radio ads with the two dude guys make it sound! The eggs are free range and you can get pure maple syrup (for an added fee).
It is very child friendly again due to early hours and crayons and colouring in.
Only thing I would say that annoyed me was that my pancakes with a side of bacon and organic maple syrup...seriously...there came out a tall stack of gorgeous pancakes with the tiniest saddest TINIEST only one piece of shrivelled up bacon. Then I realised they charge $3.70 for one rasher of bacon. I think that price should at least give you 2 decent sized rashers!!
4/5 for a casual family style place - this is NOT fine dining but if you arrive before 7pm I saw there is a $17.50 meal plus a dessert - a bit smaller but if you aren't big eaters like us it's perfect.
We had a beef Mexican crepe which came with the nicest fresh salad with tomato. So good.
The cottage fries covered in bacon - if I was eating here again this is definitely not a main meal like they say as heck it's potato bacon cheese yet good for a side to pick at.
The apple mini pancake was great as was the mini stack but for the price.. REAL maple syrup should be included. I get organic stuff for $6 a bottle retail but to get fake sugar or high fructose corn syrup isn't good enough when your paying so much for pancakes!
But that's my 2c. Tonight was epic busy and I felt so sorry for the staff running around listening to some woman complaining she ordered wedges and got potato for like 10 minutes. Omg. 🙄🙄 Great work staff tonight 19th October!
Went there for Father's Day brunch. A limited Menu was on offer. Very noisy very busy place. Coffee was good. Meal was just passable. The pancakes were excellent with very sweet toppings. The eggs and bacon concoctions were just ok. Buckwheat pancake options is useful for our dietary requirements.
Often visit Pancake Parlour and rarely disappointed. However, would love to see fresh blueberries used instead of frozen. Especially when they are in season & reasonably priced. I'm sure the $20 charged could stretch to fresh. Otherwise, great menu, something for everyone, but make sure you're hungry!! 😛
We went on fridAy to pancake P. for our first time. I had the student special which includes a self made ice tea and the alice pancakes. Which is a great offer. My partner had some chicken and salad etc. Food was good and very friendly staff. Thanks
Love coming to the pancake parlour! The service is generally good with friendly staff. My favorite dish would have to be alice in wonderland!! You also can't go pass a Pepsi spider - so yum!
The reason I'm taking the time to review the Pancake parlour is really a surprise even to myself as I don't really like pancakes. But they have my favourite tuna salad here. They also have great breakfast sides. They also have a great apple cider that my kids love. So yes sometimes i go there for my salad and I am never disappointed. Slightly overly priced though.
Food : Guilty of a sweet tooth, my absolute favourite combo here is ordering the Jamaican Banana pancakes together with Blue Heaven Swiss Mountain Malt. Very satisying for a sugar lift!
Ambience : Seems to be rather busy with lots of foot traffic wherever you sit, try to secure one of the inner booths for more privacy
Service : Can be variable due to staff fresh on the job but usually responsive to requests
Open 24 hours so nice for those when the late night sugar cravings strike!
Lovely decor and ambience. Friendly staff and good music. Most of all, great food whenever you feel like a late night feast. Yes, it's pricey, but you only live once.
Short stack with hot fudge chocolate sauce ... This is my favourite here .... If ur sweet tooth need a over sweet .. Only option was pan cake parlour .. It opens 24 hours .. Nice interior . Good customer service .
good most of the time... last few times everything on my plate was overcooked.. bacon, pancakes and the eggs. coffee here is terrible. get better coffee and you will have more customers!
To celebrate a successful dentist appointment, my boyfriend and I went to the Pancake Parlour for some Mexican Beef Crepes! These crepes are quite expensive at $27 though so I normally only go to the Pancake Parlour as a special treat. The crepes are always delicious! I would recommend trying them.
We also tried the cottage fries. These are a side dish - wow they are really small. Luckily we were quite full from the crepes but buying sides from the Pancake Parlour is very pricey and they are quite small.
My boyfriend also ordered the Chocolate Swiss Mountain Malt. Unfortunately I only took the photo of the drink after he started drinking it but he was very disappointed in his drink. He didn't expect a milkshake... He thought the ice cream and cream would be on top of the drink. He thought it would be a bit fancier. For $9.20 it's definitely not worth it. The waitress said that the ice cream used is from Belgium. Hahaha my boyfriend says "they aren't doing the Belgium ice cream any justice by blending it up." Haha!
Ohh and I was also able to pick up the Pancake Parlour Mug that I won from their Mother's Day competition. It's very pretty!
All up I'm happy with the service I received at the Pancake Parlour. My only advice is be careful what you order. If you are wanting a small side, then yes order them but if you are expecting something bigger and more filling then please order something else.
There is nothing wrong about this place. From the delicious drinks to the overwhelming service. This place is heaven for pancake lovers. Pricing slightly towards the higher end but worth it everytime.
Worth the hype!
It's nearly 10pm and you're wondering where to dine... Can't get any better when you call a restaurant to check what time they close and they say, "we're open 24 hours." This is a mammoth restaurant with a retro decor and generous parking. The children said their kids meals were amazing. Nice coffee too.
Really yummy food but expensive.
I like the casual and atmosphere and the fact its open 24 hours
I've had the mexican beef crepes which were delicious.
Hash browns looked delicious.
Yum milkshake.
Chips were soggy
"...JUST OKAY FOR ME.. BUT THE KIDS THOUGHT IT 'AWESOME'.. YEAH, THEY LOVED IT..."
Earlier this week, I treated the kids to pancakes and a shake at THE PANCAKE PARLOUR on Warrigal Road, Malvern East.
We hadn't been to one for a seriously long time.. I mean not for 2 or 3 years, at least..
So, I'd kinda forgotten what to expect..
Well this one is huge, it's got all the recognizable paraphernalia and it's open 24/7..
POSITIVES:
-clean, cool, comfortable
-booth seating...
-fast and efficient service...
-its own big carpark...
NEGATIVES:
-I really thought the pancakes were salty.. sort of a strange flavour.. perhaps it's done to counteract the sweetness of the ice-cream and toppings.. not quite sure..?
-Pricey...
-Considering the price, I was disappointed they use FAKE maple syrup.. You can buy the real stuff, for a hefty 'extra'.. A bit 'mean'...
We had:
Short Stacks - 2 small to average sized American pancakes - with Vanilla Ice-cream - 1 large scoop, very dense, reasonable quality - and "Maple Syrup..?"[the boys had to have 2 serves each..yeah, well, do you remember how hungry you got after school..!!] - COST $12.30 per serving.
Chocolate Swiss Mountain Malts - mug of milk-shake - thick, icy - full of flavour - I loved this - COST $9.20 each.
We will go again - the kids loved everything about the place - might take advantage of their Lunch and Dinner Specials next time.. it'll be 'a little' easier on the pocket..
Visited on Thursday 26 Nov 2015 for an after school treat with my boys.
It is a treat to pay a visit there, the food is delicious!
Every time I go there I order the same thing ' Alice in wonderland' which is a pancake served with chocolate, sprinkled hundreds 'n' thousands, and a big blob of vanilla ice-cream. I already can tell your mouth is watering, however they have suddenly made the size of the pancake decrease and made all the foods WAY more expensive. That is called 'Rip Off'. The pancakes are miniature and I need a magnifying glass to see it! The place looks wonderful however, it is done up very well!
The pancake is too delicious and sweet to miss. They also have dirty greasy glass of waters for people to drink with floatys! EWWW!
They also used to have a funny sign saying "we do not split bills, we only split bananas' which I found quite funny but now they just have a picture of hot air balloons. Random.
But still I love the pancake parlour and I always will so hopefully they make a change! :)
A bit expensive but a good place to chill after work since its open for 24 hours. Good pancake and crepes! Cocktail is abit overpriced but the beer is good!

After a busy Saturday, a midnight pancake stop was definitely needed. We went to the Pancake Parlour and were served straight away. We had to wait around half an hour for our drinks but our pancakes weren't too far behind so it was forgiven. In all fairness it was pretty busy considering the time we arrived. They have so many options but I went with the Salted Caramel Crunch - Salted Caramel, almonds, 2 buttermilk pancakes and a scoop of ice-cream, definitely add an extra scoop. You are already there.... I went for the hot fudge hot chocolate, and we also ordered a vanilla milkshake. Amazing pancakes and will definitely be looking for another excuse to go try a different flavour. Yum. Around $60 for two people with drinks...
Love me a cheese pancake. I wonder what the other food on the menu tastes like? Years ago I tasted a cheese pancake and it's become one of my favourite treats so it's the only thing I order when visiting The Pancake Parlour. Yum!
I particularly liked this restaurant. The lighting was dimmer than those located next to movie theatres. The copper lights and accents added a warmth to the restaurant. It also felt more spacious and was quieter - although perhaps there were not many people there for a late lunch on a weekday.
It's a risk if you're gluten free, but not bad. So even though the food is prepared in an open kitchen and isn't exactly safe for people with coeliacs disease i decided to throw caution to the wind one morning and go there to try their gluten free options. Was pleasantly surprised, fluffy and tasty. To be honest I wouldn't eat there if it was extremely busy, the gluten free pancakes are prepared on the same cook top (albeit a separate zone) so I'd imagine it'd be easy to make mistakes if it's busy, and it's not really worth the trip to hospital or days of discomfort for...
Food is excellent ! Service is better! Manager Paras truly defines excellent customer service
Love the food selection love the staff a great place for a late night snack
Yummy yummy, I like it a lot. Come here all the time , had great night with my friend!
Lovely!. I love pancake parlour! the food is delicious! the service is usually great too! the only downside is the pricing! I understand that all the food is home made and all the ingredients are organic but why must the prices be so expensive?
My family and I go nearly every week :)
Food was excellent. Portion size for money isnt that great. Service leaves a little to be desired. Entree came a out with the mains and we had to wait half an hour just for a cup of tea and coffee.
Not bad!. Definetly has become the pancake parlour I favour the most.
4 of us went about 8ish on a weekday for dinner. very cosy, friendly staff that didnt push you to hurry up, could hear each other clearly and asked for the main and dessert to come out seperatly and they did exactly that :)
downside is that the place is very expensive and the main courses portion was quite small for the bucks being spent. but then again all pancake parlours are like that.
Will definetly be back there again!
I have been to 2 other pancake parlours in the past few months and been disappointed this one has redeemed them good food and excellent service
Cooool!. Greatttttt Place!!!!!! Loved the Pancake and loved the savoury too!!!! its 24 hours which makes it even more special!!!!!
Pancake Parlour Warrigal Road. Took a group of seniors there for a dinner out. (9 of us) Everyone loved the Early Dinner Fare menu. Great value for money. Most of the $10.90 meals were senior sized as well, which left room for the $5.00 desserts. Yum Very good service and the restaurant was very clean.
Good pancakes, Good coffee.. We ordered the regular stack with maple syrup and lemon and sugar, with ice cream and a pot of tea and coffee refills. Very light, tasty and easy to stomach at 8:30 on a morning. I have been here before for dinner and had a savoury Mexican crepe with beef, salsa lettuce etc, which was not bad, but really if you want Mexican go to a Mexican restaurant. Here stick to what they do best, simple and tasty pancakes. The booth style seating is cosy too. BH
Its expensive, boring place, but great pancakes
While a little pricey for 'where' you are eating the Cajun chicken is excellent.
