Review Mr Sister - Malvern

Absolutely love this cafe. Great food and coffee. They have plenty of amazing options to choose from.

Terrible. Table was dirty, cutlery and crockery was dirty, staff member scoffed at the fact they had to clean the table when asked.. Won't be coming back here. Menu has changed and not for the better either. How can you support small and local business when they don't want to give you even the most basic of experiences.

The team is exceptional and very accommodating. Held a PhD luncheon for 20 students and their supervisors. Communication with the team via email with pre-orders was without incident. The atmosphere is chill and cool and the staff really friendly. The food is delicious and beautifully presented. Highly recommend!

The food is good, so is the coffee. But they need more people to work there in order to attend to the clients on time. If you are not in a rush it is a good option

Good food and nice ambiance. This place is perfect spot for any group size from 2-20. They’ve ample space and a good vibe.

Lovely thoughtful service, great prices, delicious coffee from their own roasters…. What’s not to love. I’ll be coming back.

Just 5 mins walk from the Monash Campus, the Mr. Sister Cafe is a laid back place and has a dog-friendly setting. We reached around 11:45 and it was almost empty since the brunch time was about to be over. There was a lot of space to sit, even had high chair seating as well. We decided to sit in the dining area at the back. The staff were very welcoming and always had a smiling face for my camera. We ordered the Smashed Avacado, Potato Rosti, and Zucchini Fritters from the all-day breakfast menu. The quantity was very much enough to fill our hunger pangs. The Smashed Avacado is a vegetarian option right out of the menu and you can add bacon for $4. It also comes in a gluten-free option. There was two medium size toast with smashed avo on top of it. I loved the combination of beetroot hummus. The Potato Rosti, all three of us liked this the most. The pulled beef was yum and the best part was the caramelized apple butter. I find this puree as something so delicious and it went well with all our dishes. I would not be hesitant to ask for more. The Potato Rosti, without a doubt, is a must try in Mr. Sister Cafe. I ordered the Zucchini Fritters and it was fried to perfection. Pistachio and mint pesto was good. I am not a big fan of peas. The lemon labneh, wish it was sweet since I love things being sour and sweet. We were almost about to finish the brunch and out of nowhere bees began to fly near to our food. I guess they also liked the food and its aroma. Fun aside, it was the only bad experience and we even had to change our seating to get rid of the bee attack. The staff obviously couldn't do anything because there were other guests and spraying chemicals will be a bad idea. Overall, it was a good experience and we would love to visit. I wish the smoothies were less expensive and the menu had more non-vegetarian options. The staff was very courteous and kind. Keep up the good work guys.

I went to Mr S last Sunday with my 91yo mum for the first time. The staff were soooo lovely! Mum was clearly the oldest there by about 30 years and the darling waiter offered to turn down the music for mum! Of course we declined but I thought it was such a gorgeous gesture to make to an elderly woman. The staff were funny, beautiful and full of personality. We will return! (Oh and I'm vegan so thanks for having Vegan options highlighted on menu). Xx

Gorgeous place! The potato rosti and pulled pork was amazing. Really good service, especially considering we had our monster toddler with us. Lots of high chairs and a proper change table available. We'll be back

Friendly staff, great customer service and a lovley breakfast menu! Delicious hot chocolate and my 2 year old is a fan of your babychinos. :) Have you thought about adding iced chocolate and milkshakes to your menu?

Customer service was warm, friendly and attentive. My coffee was tasty and strong just as I ordered it and a great twist on The Fritters dish. Thumbs Up!

I just came to the cafe this morning. The atmosphere, music, people, especially the coffees were really good. I definitely will come back.

Menu great - especially good/welcoming of allergy modification. Service friendly.

Awesome turmeric latte, great fit out, finally a decent joint in the Malvern East hood

Finally a nice cafe in Caulfield! Food and coffee were great!

Great food and coffee - will be back in the near future.

Great coffee, atmosphere and service. Will be back.

We came by this cafe on a Sunday for brunch. For drinks we ordered a couple of cold pressed juices which were fresh and delicious. For meals we ordered the smashed avocado and pulled pork with rosti and poached eggs. The smashed avocado was fresh, light and delicious. The eggs were poached beautifully. The eggs on the rosti dish were perfect too. The crackling on top was unnecessary was it was very hard. The rosti was cooked perfectly golden on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The kale was delicious and went well with the pulled pork. The pulled pork was smokey and tender but it was a little on the sweet side for me. Each individual item on the plate was good and the dish was presented well but there were a little too many things and flavours going on on the plate. Still a well-executed dish. We will be back to try other things on their menu.

My two favourite things about this place is the outside seating area (really good vibes) and the menu options.
The menu has a good range of options, and some of the dishes have a little twist to it. The potato rosti I got was nice and filling and came with some apple sauce which was a good combo.
Flying Forward
Lovely airy courtyard around the back with plenty of light.

Halloumi Arepa – interesting combination of ingredients that go really well together. The Columbian corn cake was crisp and the black bean hummus was smooth.

Potato Rosti – the rosti was crisp and the pulled pork had good seasoning.

Service was friendly and the coffee was pretty decent, with good strength.

I enjoyed the space and experience.

A great setup for dog owners. Coffee is pretty good!

The Mr Benedict (pulled beef brisket) was quite nice. An interesting flavour from the salad/slaw (probably the kale?). But the eggs were poached nicely and the basting was delicious. Well toasted sourdough.

The beef sandwich was disappointing. Only a little meat. A lot of salad. Not a particularly tasty combination.

Great outdoor area, undercover and sealed walls. Warm and dry for dog owners with a rear entrance as well!
Pamela Kontić
Gorgeous cafe. Best halloumi I have ever had. Toast was pre-buttered which I really liked (a lot of places just give plain toast). Eggs were poached perfectly.

Looks small, until you realize there's an outdoor area (well, contained of course). The pink wall is my favorite part of the place.
- Mr Benedict: big portion, 2 eggs, knock yourself out
- Breakfast board: for indecisive and want oats and eggs together
- Beef & Cheddar sandwich was huge

Very lovely place overall, probably pet friendly too (dogs were hanging around people)
The Critical Barista
I came to Mr Sister for the second time on Easter Monday and got so caught up in my delicious almond magic and poached eggs that I left my retainer in a glass on the table.

Now, as anyone who has had braces knows, retainers are like GOLD! As we are getting in the car, our waitress runs up Waverley road with my glass of water and I’m thinking “what the hell..?” And then she says “you left your retainer!” And my stomach did a flip flop.

I cannot thank this waitress enough. The fact she recognised what is was, it’s worth, and then to chase after me goes above and beyond what I would expect out of my act of carelessness!! So although I said it 50 times on the road already- thankyou thankyou so much and you really did save the day for me!!!!!

Cute place close to Monash Caulfield. Really liked the Sautéed mushrooms. Coffee was good too, and service was friendly. Might come back sometime soon.

Hungry Little Dinosaur
A cute cafe with a very extensive menu. After watching so many different dishes come out we were still undecided as to what to order, Mr Dinosaur ordered the Crispy chicken burger and I got the sauteed greens. His chips were slightly overcooked and not seasoned but his burger was very delicious as the chicken was very juicy and fresh. My sauteed greens were very sad looking, and I was not very impressed with bok choy and choy sum and eggs for breakfast, was very watery and not very filling.

Will return though, as their menu looked very good otherwise!
Tashveen14
Tried the breakfast board and the crispy chicken burger, both tasted great. A nice place, located very close to Monash university, with warm staff and soothing ambience. Do try.

A lovely place to go for brunch in the south-east. The outside area is a nice added touch too! The atmosphere and staff are exceptional. Food was delectable as well. Everything you could ask for in a cute brunch place! Will definitely be coming back to try other dishes!
Rach
The outdoor area is amazing. The coffees are delicious. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The menu variety is great too! Although, I ordered the fritters and found the meal portion a little small and the food a little oily. Overall - will definitely be back!
MishFish
Great local brunch option for groups. Kid friendly, with space for prams/high chairs in the covered courtyard which is also heated in colder months. service is friendly and helpful. Food is good value with plenty of choice for everyone.
Charlotte Cooper
The outside area is perfect for summer.
The food is good and the smoothie is amazing, although the smoothie is quite expensive $11 - think for yourself
I will definitely go there again.

Burgers Of Melbourne
I started with the smoothy which was a great choice. Thickness was on point and it had the right consistency all the way through. The waffles weren't for me, I felt like the dish was missing something as even with the lemon curd they were quite dry.

Service was friendly but fealt as if we were being rushed out as quickly as possible. It wasn't that busy and there were plenty of tables around so not sure why the rush to free up the table.
Split The Bill
You can't miss this cafe on Waverley Rd, its pink and black, on the inside it has its walls exposed with brick, blonde wood chairs and royal blue. I had to stop in for a coffee and a sit down. Coffee was ok using Proud Mary's beans. Staff are happy, customers come in and out ordering takeaway coffees.
Valérie Gagné
Lovely place to go for brunch! The staff was amazing & the service was quick! The only thing is that we decided to eat at the back on a rainy day and it was a bit cold but an overall excellent experience even though!
Gdkf
Loved the outside seating area in this relatively newish cafe. Seating was very cozy...loved the touch of blankes being available for patrons...cute! Coffees were lovely, as was the variety and quality of food. The fritters were especially delicious and worth a look.
Katielangeee
This place was really nice, the seating out the back was lovely, and the staff were incredibly accommodating. The coffee was a stand out as it was creamy and not too bitter.
The Brunch Specialist
I was fortunate enough to win breakfast for 2 at Mr Sister via an Instagram competition.

Visiting with my sister I ordered the breakfast board which comes with smashed pea bruschetta and Bircher with yoghurt along with a matcha latte. My sister ordered the the chilli folded eggs and the snickers smoothie.

Everything we ordered came out beautifully presented. I love how the breakfast board was lined with paper printed with their cute logo and that the logo also featured as a sticker on the smoothie glass.

I thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast board, the smashed pea bruschetta was a nice change from my regular smashed avo and the Bircher with blueberry coconut yoghurt was equally delicious. Although the breakfast board only had two components it was very filling and left me feeling satisfied.

Overall I had a lovely experience at Mr Sister. The staff were very attentive and friendly. I recommend that you check them out if you’re in the area. I rate Mr Sister ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ out of 5.

Love this venue. Courtyard is amazing with all that natural light. Coffee and food on point which is a massive addition to the area. Have been back many times

Good vibe . Good portion size. Prices are fair but definitely not cheap . But the pulled beef burger was dry and cold... to a point it was hard to swallow it down .. Staff don’t seem very friendly either . A little smile can change the world .

Cafe has a lovely airy setting, food portions are a bit small but decently seasoned. The biggest down fall are the depressing looking staffs that doesn’t want to take orders and wants to leave ASAP ):

Live just around the corner and been meaning to go here for a while. Chilli scrambled eggs with basil goats curd was delicious! Coffee very good as well. Great start to a Sunday. Will be back soon!

The first time I went there with my workmates, i had the peanut butter and jelly waffles which were seriously amazing! The fish tacos looked amazing so we went there the second time. The tacos however were alright, and the chicken burger's chicken was a bit dry and chewy. If I go again, would probably go just for the waffles.

I was enticed by the ‘Breakfast Board – blueberry overnight oats, coconut flakes, toasted seeds and seasonal fruit with seeded toast, smashed avocado and chilli salt ($15.50)’. I adored this brunch time dish! The oats had just the right amount of sweetness and a gorgeous texture from the coconut flakes and seeds.

Service here was great! The decor was simple but pretty. The frittas I had were AMAZING! Lots of flavor, I would defs recommend getting them!

Been here twice now. Most recently couple days after Christmas on a really hot day, so not very busy. We sat in the front section which had air con, the lovely semi outdoor courtyard out the back was just too uncomfortably hot to sit there that day (only has big fans).

Had the tacos, portion size could have been bigger, but was tasty. Friend ordered one of the juices which I thought was on the small size for the price, came in a thin tall jar. Food and service here is nice and friendly. Last time had the pork pulled pork dish which I would recommend. The tumeric latte could have been stronger.

Good place for mums with bubs and space for prams and there's a change table available. Watch the step at the front entrance, the courtyard door has no step.

Service was friendly, food and drinks were fine for our table of four. My problem relates to something quite specific. Had the wild mushrooms/spinach on rye toast ($19) which came with poached egg and cheese, pesto. Also annotated with "VEO" which meant "vegan option available" according to the key on the menu. Since I'm vegan, I asked for the vegan option ... and received mushrooms and spinach on toast. So basically they simply OMITTED the animal bits. Since the animal bits were half of the dish, the result was a poor value product. Guys, do not call this the "vegan option" if you are not going to substitute anything. Or else cut the price. I don't care if this is what a lot of restaurants do. Stop doing it.

After reading some reviews was super excited to check this place out but was left disappointed. Food was nothing special especially disappointed in the potato rosti. Also have had much better coffee at other local cafes
Lily Smith
VIBES 10/10!!! such a cute cafe, beautfiul timber tables!! had the baked beans, spiced tomato sauce, avocado salsa, chevre hummus, poached egg, with grilled sour dough toast, the menu denoated that a vegan option of this was available so that is what i had, was a bit disappointed though as they only took away non vegan food (e.g the chevre and the poached egg) and i still paid full price even though i didnt get as much food :((( staff were very lovely though, will definiently give it another try, beautiful cafe
Being Delicious
The food was absolutely delicious, with a few trendy and unique options. The actual seting of the cafe is so nice and there are lots of yummy options to choose from! I loved the chilli folded eggs and would highly recommend. The only thing I had a problem with is that the service was somewhat slow- but it was worth the wait!
Claire Laz
Atmosphere, courtyard and coffee were nice, but waited a little too long for our brekkie (probably about 30-40mins?) and even then my poached eggs were completely overcooked and others had overcooked ones too, which was pretty disappointing! By then we were so hungry we didn't bother. Great service though and dog friendly!

I’ve been meaning to go to Mr Sister for a while and was so excited to finally come in. In addition to their cute pink-black exterior, their interiors were cozy with a backyard area perfect for cool summer brunches. Our waitress was super friendly and we ordered the latte which was very smooth (just the way I liked it!).

We first tried the Fish Tacos that had rockling, radish-fennel slaw and mango jalapeno dressing. The mango dressing was really sweet and I really enjoyed the refreshing combination of flavours. I was so hungry and hot from the weather so this dish just hit the spot. I tried a bit of my partner’s Banh Mi but I was tooooo slow because he managed to polish off all the crackling. He did comment on how good it was though. I was genuinely surprised by how good the Banh Mi was. My last Banh Mi was during a trip to Vietnam that went south, so I hadn’t had Banh Mi since then. The sauces were really on point and the pork was cooked well.

We then ended our meal with the Peanut Butter and Jelly Waffles. Great texture (not soggy like a lot of places!) and although the peanut butter was a tad much, I loved the overall freshness of the waffles. No doubt will be the perfect dish for all you peanut butter lovers. Overall, I really enjoyed the ambience! If I lived nearby, this could definitely be one my go-tos.

Fish Taco & ‘healthy plate’! Lovely food & coffee, with good service & smile! Too much to finish, so I took away one of those three from the fish and some of the pulled beef brisket. Definitely will come back again!
Tifany_la_gourmande
I have been to mr sister many times. The service never fails, it is attentive and friendly. Additionally, the menu offers a various range of breakfast and lunch foods from basic eggs to Vietnamese rolls. I absolutely recommend this place that serves up great food and coffee in a timely manner and has great wait staff.

Big fan of this place. Great food and coffee. Plenty of space for kids. Cool fit out and pretty sweet outdoor space for summer. Worth a visit

With Smashed Avo this good I don't even want a house.

Awesome coffee. Great dogs out the front. Has to be one of the better cafes in the east
Mikaela Atlanta Fent
GREAT coffee and friendly, fun staff every time. Always grab a takeaway coffee every weekend as it’s also excellent and consistent! Delicious brekky food and a fun vibe in the space.

Mr Sister is a cafe tucked in the corner of a suburban street just off Waverley Road. You definitely can’t miss their pink wall which was a good photo op! I loved the cosiness of the place. We decided to sit the covered back outdoor seating area that had amazing lighting and blankets to keep you warm, plus some outdoor heating too.

I had the steak and eggs with my matcha latte whilst my friend had the baked beans. My friend’s dish was generous in portion so she struggled to finished it. I really enjoyed my dish and left feeling very satisfied not just with the food but with the friendly staff & lovely dining space. Would love to return here again! :)
Melbourne To Mouth
For all you lovers of Summer out there, Mr Sister and their outdoor dining space should be high on your list of must-do Sunday breakfast places.

If you're feeling like a classic, their chilli folded eggs or baked beans might be right up your alley. Or if you're a little more adventurous, their peanut butter and jelly waffles or steak and eggs might be your glorious choice. For my visit it was the potato roti with pulled pork and crackling (crackling at breakfast! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD YES!!) and the very intriguing apple crumble porridge that was served up. I'm also a big fan of desserts disguised as breakfast, it means you can eat them as soon as you wake up and they're quite obviously healthy (In this case though, it actually did look pretty healthy). Anything with the word crumble in it, am I right?

With coffee and fresh juices to wake you up after a big night or just to get your day going, there's something for the most ambitious slurper of morning beverages at Mr Sister. I'm going back for the grilled cheese polenta with truffle aioli (mouthgasm) and the fish tacos for lunch. Sublime. Get amongst it.

Full (and probably funnier) review live on the blog now, link in bio :)
Christopher & Marian
Coffee strong and flavoursome. This is the style of long blacks that Christopher & Marian require and is missing from so many establishments.
Space at the rear is large, inviting.
It is especially welcome for all families bringing the required prams and baskets of entertainment.
Food is well created and presented with beauty very promptly.
Chilli folded eggs on toast & charcoal soda bread was a delight. *see photos.
By the way activated charcoal has an ability to absorb organic toxins.
It is a 'superfood' and activated charcoal is even used in emergency rooms across the world.
It cleanses the body of certain chemicals.
It even is good to whiten teeth and more...
We look forward to a revisit to Mr Sister.

▫️SERVICE▫️COFFEE▫️FOOD▫️MUSIC▫️
This place has got it all!

Now I'm your classical annoying customer:
1. Needing a seat near a power point to charge my computer
2. Taking a long time to decide on what I want to eat
3. Then taking 7 years to finish my meal
4. Studying for over 1.5 hours
And probably more but I'd rather not drive myself into the ground any more.
The wait staff here where totally accomodating, approachable and ready for some cheeky banter.
Coffee is amazing! (I even get out of bed early to grab a take away on the way to work, so that's saying a lot)
The food is everything I was after! The Baked Beans where a real winter warmer.
The music is perfect and accomodating for everyone who walks through their front door.
🌈Thanks for an awesome experience🌈

Being a Weetbix Kid It's hard for me to write anything credible about a modern brunch meal.
When ever I visit these places I have still had My 8 Weetbix and banana for breakfast, and even though I may later eat at a breakfasty-ish menu place later on, I am eating another breakfast as lunch so to speak. Wait is that Brunch? I don't know. Gimme the Weetbix.
I do know that when this place Opened it got slammed big time. After my visit and seeing the size of the rear area and kitchen I think I would have had small heart attacks working any of those services. But a little birdy told me later that They have a prep kitchen Elsewhere that helps. So they can keep it pumping if need be.
A few weeks ago I came alone and sampled The baked beans dish.
I loved the hummus and the bread, i usually skip bread, because its one of those things often never bothered with, you know Toast cooked on one side, or not at all, or no butter, or its been rescued from almost being burnt, But the bread was Great and hummus/cheese mix spread with care. Beans and Avo and all of it was fresh and tasty.
Lots of windows to sit by and stare blankly out of. Which I always enjoy.

I don't know what I am talking about.

Back to the weetbix.
Food Lover
Good food but rude front of house staff. After enjoying a nice meal we went up to pay but as there are no table numbers we didn't know what table we were sitting at. My friend suggested that they should put table numbers on the tables to make things easier. We were asked to describe where we were sitting and it was quite difficult. One staff member told my friend to "calm down" despite her having a bit of a laugh over the confusion of the tables and describing it jokingly in terms of degrees and direction. He then refused to talk to my friend and said he'd only talk to me. Customers should be treated nicely especially when they haven't done anything wrong. Extremely disappointing service.

Absolutely beautiful cafe from the moment you step foot inside. Love the styling and especially the timber tables and chairs. Great menu with so many amazing dishes to choose from. The dishes I ordered were on point with ingredients and flavours. Staff lovely.
Monica Doan
Can you tell how in love I am with this cafe? Food is great! Staff and service is awesome. Interior of the cafe is excellent and very cute. I will be back to take a photo by their beautiful pink brick wall! Only reason why this wasn't a higher rating was because they need to improve their Matcha latte! Not enough matcha, not creamy enough.
DAMMIT JANET I LOVE FOOD
The chilli used in the folded eggs were surprisingly potent so I ended up having to push some of it to one side so that it didn't overpower the dish.
I really enjoyed the Tim Tam smash, although the salted caramel was a bit more solid than I would have liked.
Service was quick and their back courtyard is bright and airy.
Kate Dougherty
Spacious, well designed cafe with tasty menu. I ordered the chilli folded eggs with soda bread, basil goats curd, tomatoes and a side of bacon. I loved the soda bread and goats curd but found the eggs themselves lacking in seasoning and very spicy. By no means an unpleasant meal though. Staff were friendly but the courtyard out the back was a bit cold. Might need some better outdoor heaters to contend with the melbourne winter.
Shanaka Eats
Breakfast on a lovely Saturday afternoon. Really liked the interior design which was spacious and dog-friendly. We had the grilled cheese polenta and the smashed avocado with a side of bacon. I honestly cannot rave about the food, but it was a large serve and good flavours. Coffees were pretty good too!
Espy Eats
Mr Sister is a bright and cheery place with a satisfying and stylish interior out front and yards of tables out the back, also tastefully fitted out. The cafe was humming along nicely when we turned up bang on Brunch-o'clock and asked for a table for 4 plus a stroller. After a short wait they accommodated us inside and we ordered coffee and then slightly after that our meal items. The staff were really friendly and helpful with the many subsequent strollers we saw coming and going during our time here.

I ordered the breakfast board on recommendation from our dining companions who had eaten here previously. It was a combo of sweet & savoury with tarted up blueberry overnight oats in a jar on one side and a smashed avo, poached eggs on the other. Two in our group ordered folded chilli eggs with bacon/salmon on the side and lastly the steak & eggs (which in no way adequately describes this intriguing looking dish). Staff were plentiful but so we're customers and they lost the order for half of our coffees. This was put right by the time our meals came and provided to us at no charge which was appropriate given others were well and truely consumed by then.

I'm not sure if the food tasted as good as it looked or looked as good as it tasted. Either way visually stunning and awesomely tasty meals. I am not the type to normally order a cereal based breakfast when out but am so glad I did so with the first half of the breakfast board. It might give me some ideas for the overnights I create for my office breakie M-F. The avo and poached eggs was good but not standout. I also tried the chilli folded eggs along with charcoal soda bread and salmon. The feta on this dish was blended with just enough avo to provide a slight taste to the creamy feta. It was perhaps the tastiest combination of those two flavours I have had. The cherry tomatoes were also bursting with flavour suggesting to me well sourced produce for this time of year.

Would I eat here again? Absolutely and that's a promise. I haven't tried their other cafe Mr Mister in Windsor so have sort have done this review out of order ( kinda like watching the sequel to a movie before the original) but am defiantly keen to try Mr Mister soon as well.

What a treat, the breakfast of pulled pork potato Rosti has had me thinking about it all week. So many levels of amazing flavours. The coffee was good as was the service. The ambience was lovely but the only thing that spoiled it a little was that the cafe was freezing! Need to sort out some heating.

I will definitely be back to sample more of their menu.
Angie05.laz
Was great. Has a funky me u service and the people were welcoming and a great spot for brunch. Great refreshments and yummy food. Would recommend for 2 people. @mrsister Angie05.laz

The spacious fit out of mr sister, especially outside is gorgeous! We love that even in the winter the outdoor is heated and the cafe provides blankets. We found the menu to be extensive with a great balance of maintaining brunch musts such as Avo and exploring new combos such as cheesey polenta or Tim tam cream cheese smash. We also liked that there is resemblance to their sister cafe- Mr Mister but also some authentic twists. All dishes seemed reasonable in portion, not overly priced and well balanced. Our favourite was definitely the chili folded eggs on charcoal toast. The cheesey polenta seemed to lack a bit of flavour but we still enjoyed it. The tim tam sponge is a delicious dessert and well worth trying! Peanut butter lovers shouldn't look past the snickers smoothie. Coffee is great and staff are extremely friendly and attentive. Definitely worth checking out!
The environment was lovely, tried the the Korean peanut crusted chicken burger, it was a special combination, the pickled cucumber and the kimchi matches the fried chicken pretty well (although I think it would be better if it was grill chicken/beef instead of fried chicken). The presentation was average, as you can see from the pic, it would be better to serve with some side dishes? (I.e fries)

But overall it was great! :)

Visited Mr Sister for Sunday breakfast. Beautiful interior with plenty of space inside and out in a massive covered courtyard. The coffee was fantastic - easily the best in the area - and the mushroom and polenta dish was yummy. There were heaps of staff on, although it wasn't busy yet as we went quite early, and our food and coffees came out quickly. A pity to see a few negative reviews have given this great new cafe such a poor rating early on. Will definitely be back.

Reviewing reviewers......

Nicole and Timmy!!!

Once again I'm astounded by the ignorance shown by the people who call themselves restaurant or cafe reviewers.
Nicole didn't your mother tell you if you have nothing nice to say then don't say it at all.
And Timmy, seriously acidic, burnt. Which is it? Are you a coffee roaster or just someone who wished they were.
Seriously both of you need to just stay at home. The place was all of a week or so old when you thought you'd add your words of wisdom for the world to see. How about giving them a chance to get used to the layout and the staff a minute to catch their breath after what I'm sure was a busy opening few weeks. I'm guessing both of you excelled at your roles in the first week on the job. I'm sure that's why you both run the companies now that you have been there for more than a month.
How about we wait and see how things go after a month then you can write some more dribble about what experts you both are.
By the way I've never been there and don't have any affiliation but as a restaurateur that knows the group I'm sure it will be well run and have great coffee and food.
Watch this space.......

Was excited to visit Mister Sister Cafe however I was disappointed with my drinks. Chai was weak and espresso was bitter. Meal was nice, my guest enjoyed hers however we both felt it lacked "flavour and gusto". It looked pretty that's for sure! Hoping as time progresses the flavours will shine in the food and drinks!

This is my first time writing a review, and I'm only doing so because this new cafe is ridiculously close to home. Anyway, I ordered a single origin long black and grilled cheese polenta, both of which were tad let down. The long black was a bit too acidic and tasted slight burnt at the same time, but lacking the fruity flavour that I'd have expected from a Columbian coffee. It has been quite a wait for the food but was understandable considering the place was somewhat busy at that time. The problem was with the food itself. I was expecting the grilled cheese polenta to be like melting cheese oozing out of some charred polenta, but it turned out like a steamed piece of bland polenta cake with a slice of dry cheese sticked on top. The eggs and mushrooms were ok, but the sauteed kale tasted as if it was boiled and was also desperately in need of some seasoning.

The flip side is that the atmosphere is welcoming and the staff were friendly. Considering the place is new, I may come back later to try out some other things on the menu, but for now it really needed to get their food fixed.

Decided to head down and check out the sister cafe to Mr mister, Mr sister. Bright airy Devore, very inviting! Service was great! Loved the outdoor area so bright and gorgeous! Food was delicious, the potato rosti just OMG!!! Definitely visit!!

My partner and I really enjoyed the food. The "steak and eggs" is definitively pro-order. The staff were polite and attentive. Will definitely be back.

Unfortunately it's pretty obvious that this place is just recently opened, the food was cold and missing things. Kale salad needs to be seasoned better and chilli eggs didn't have enough chilli at all. Coffee was really good, juice was really good (very fresh) and wait staff were attentive and knowledgable. Also love the fit out, will come back and give it another try in a few months once they have settled in.

🌟🌟🌟🌟 4 stars

This cafe is beautiful! I love the decor and atmosphere. It's super spacious, great place to study and the courtyard is big (and heated!)

The food was really yummy, but I would have loved more vegan options where you get substitutions rather than paying the same price for less food. However, love the vegan sweets in the cabinet. A vegan takeaway option would be amazing too. But love that they are super accommodating!

Great location, easily accessible and pretty good pricing! Love the cute branding as well.
