Review Noodle Box - Malvern

The vegetarian spring rolls reminded me of coughing up snot in the middle of a bad cold. To add to this woeful dish was the sickeningly sweet chili sauce. The Mongolian beef smelt & tasted like it had been marinated in dirt. The beef was just so bad!!! Actually more like rubber. The hot & spicy smelt like spew & dare I say, tasted like it - straight in the bin. The Pad Thai was the worst I’d ever tried - couldn’t do more than a mouthful. Can’t believe this standard even exists in Melbourne. Never again! Food poisoning here we come! 🤮🤮🤮

The first time I came here I loved it and it was very good quality. I came back tonight and wasn't as impressed. The woman that served me was lovely and efficient. I saw it was busy so I didn't mind waiting. Although whilst waiting it was difficult to watch one of the female staff look so upset being there and it seemed very disorganised. After a 30 min wait I received my order but not the sides until I checked the bag and asked. The quality wasn't as good as last and was mostly noodles with a couple pieces of chicken, not many bean sprouts. Wasn't a very welcoming environment and probably won't be back.

I arrived late after travelling from Canberra and the guys were cleaning up. They offered to serve me and provided me with a hot meal courteously and quickly. Amazing service and great food. Thanks guys.

Honestly one of the worst takeaways I have ever ordered. The people working were screaming and swearing the whole time. I don't know how the chef works with them. Food was tasteless, dry and really disappointing and didn't taste fresh at all. Waste of $50. I would not recommend anyone taking a chance with this place

Is there a possibility of zero stars? Stale chewy chicken. One of the ‘chicken’ poppers had nothing in them but the batter. Old rice. Old bean sprouts. Completely flavorless. Super oily. Waste of money. Waste of time.

5 stars, short boy with big muscles and blonde hair made my noodles so well. I ordered teriyaki chicken, and it was on of the most amazing things i’ve ever eaten.😋😋

Got served by this promising young lady named Jordan she prepared food quickly with keen hands and had a nice tone of voice will definitely come back

Hands down, the worst takeout I’ve ever had. <br/>Ever. <br/>I ordered dinner through Menulog. <br/>Got their Pandamonium Pack, which costs $47.95 (plus $5 delivery). <br/>The dumplings were cold, tasteless, and basically inedible. <br/>The Kwey Teow is revolting. The noodles are literally a mash and there’s barely anything else. I found two tiny pieces of meat. <br/>The Combination Noodles were tasteless and had two pieces of pork. <br/>The Combination Rice was tasteless and had 3 tiny frozen shrimps in it. <br/>The spring rolls were oK. <br/>Overall, a huge waste of money and we’re both still hungry. <br/>I can’t even understand how a place like this is still in business.

Just ordered Uber eats got 2 dishes that does NOT REQUIRE CHILLI it’s not even meant to be in there. Tho these guys add what ever they like there was so much chilli in it we couldn’t even eat half. On that note I will not be returning to this junk box.

I did not like the food at all. the bedf was tough and i ordered extra prawns and got 1 prawn. I asked for thick egg noddles and received thin crap. will not eat here again.

I ordered Teriyaki chicken with noodles. The food tasted alright. But I found a plastic piece which I took out from the back of my mouth. I could have choked. I had to throw my food in the bin. I wish I could’ve given a better rating.

Great to see Noodle Box cook to order. Service was great and our food was ready in 10mins. We ordered the satay chicken and spicy chicken with extra hot sauce. There was a lot of noodles jam packed into the noodle box and thats great if you just love noodles but I wouls love more veggies and chicken.

I ordered the black bean char beef and as soon as I ate I could taste all the msg it was shocking I would not recommend this unless everyone is closed and your starving.

Far out this was a shocker. The noodles are just your stock standard ones; and the meat was so fatty and pretty much inedible. <br/><br/>I have a terrible time with MSG and seafood - and looked online and saw their allergen menu so specifically ordered a beef and black bean which judging from my pulse at 120BPM (usually 63) there was MSG in it. <br/><br/>Arrived very hot so that's a good thing - but I doubt their allergen list is accurate.

My wife had this via Uber Eats and had a fantastic pad Thai. The food was steaming hot, dealt with her allergies and more importantly tasted fresh and tasty. A good take away option.

Have previously enjoyed our experiences at Noodle box but tonight made it our last time! Mongolian Beef was super, super sweet and spicy, Kuay Teow was almost black and had a burnt aftertaste - couldn't eat it, all went in the bin :( Won't be back.

Felt like noodles and this came up via Uber Eats. Was in a rush and forgot to check Zomato first. Big mistake. Ordered the hottest chilli level, plus extra chilli and all I could taste was sugar. Sickly sweet. Avoid.

Horrible...my friend discarded just after few mouths. She ordered some veggie stir fry on rice, it was just soaked in soy sauce and nothing else. My food (flat noodles) was as bad too but I just swallowed it as I was starving. Not recommended and not going again.

I have tried this restaurant before thinking they must have had a bad day. Give them another go.<br/><br/>Nope Very bland food, couldn't eat it, even the dog gave it a miss / unhappy staff as well

Not going back. This was a great place to grab a quick meal when late from work, but recent visits have delivered inconsistent food, wrong ingredients and the place looks like it needs a deep clean. Must be new owners or something.

Came here last week to have dinner. Staff were nice, but unfortunately the noodles were very undercooked. I generally like Noodle Box as a chain, but I don't think I'll be returning to this one for some time.

Hadn't been to Noodle Box in years, so with my shop a docket deal in hand and memories of my old favourite: the black bean stir fry, I entered the Malvern store.<br/><br/>I ordered two black bean noodle boxes, and at $21 for both with the shop a docket deal, it was still a disappointment at that price. Where was the protein? It certainly wasn't in the boxes I ordered. Two small pieces in one, four small pieces in the other. The sauce was also nauseatingly thick and VERY salty, even for a black bean sauce. It definitely needed some sweetness and a bit more water to make it right. I am unsure whether this was head office changing recipes and quantities around, whether they shun people who have a docket deal, or whether it was a cook that should know better. Whatever it was, I wasn't happy.<br/><br/>There were a few positives. The noodles were cooked well and the vegetables were generously tossed through, but unfortunately, I can get that at Derby Thai Caulfield for $13 each, PLUS generous amounts of protein (six large pieces of protein per serve), a balanced flavourful sauce, and free condiments (chilli oil, lemon wedges, crushed peanuts, fresh bean sprouts piled on top etc).<br/><br/>Sorry Noodle Box, you had a chance to gain a customer, but you lost it because you skimped on the essentials that a local small business is able to offer AND at a cheaper price to your normal menu prices. I won't be back.

Careless Cooking. We ordered a vegan meal - quite specific - no meat or egg but with vegies and tofu. When we got home found they had put egg in it! And nuts - (which we did not ask for). Very distressing for our vegan diner who had eaten some before egg discovery. Lucky no nut allergy.<br/><br/>Very careless chef can cause someone real harm.<br/><br/>Complained on the noodlebox feedback site - automated email promised a response in 24 hours M-F. waited 3 days and nothing.<br/><br/>Their noodles are not that great anyway but this level of customer service is to be despised.<br/><br/>Never using them again
