Great value of food, great quick service and what a great local gem 👌 10/10 would recommend to friends and family.

I live in Glen Waverley, home to the largest and finest range of Asian cuisine. Went tonight with my son who lives around the corner. The food here is simply ‘Amazing’. Incredibly tasty and fresh. A local ‘GEM’ !!!

We walk past nearly everyday and never went in. Yesterday we went in for the first time and enjoyed every single bite! We started with long soup and short soup. The soup was fresh and the dumplings/noodles were very tasty. Following entrees we had the teriyaki fillet beef and Szechuan king prawns. The beef was perfectly tender and tasted fantastic! The prawns equally superb! Following our meals the chef came out and checked in with us. We had nothing bad to say and just thanked him for the great food. For dessert we had the banana fritter and the cinnamon was a perfect touch with very fresh produce! Five stars! We will definitely be going back soon!!

Went there tonight with my girlfriend the restaurant was totally empty.
We checked the price on the menu which is on the front desk and they were the same than on zomato so we took a seat but when we opened the menu at the table prices were more expensive so finally we said okay we gonna have some take away please.
We ordered some veggie main courses and one more time for my main course the price was not $10 as written on the menu but $10,80.
It's not a lot but it still bad.
Even if we were the only customers the waitress was not really nice (no thank you very much, have a lovely evening) and didn't put any napkins in the take away bag. Customer service is bad.
Food was pretty average not bad but cant say it was good either. You can find some better place for a similar price with nicer food and staff.
Dine And Dash
One of my favourite Chinese restaurants in Melbourne. On this occasion, I ordered the duck rolls entrées and peking chicken crepe rolls. They were both divine. spring rolls are great. I also ordered a chicken and corn soup and for main, a delicious Honey Glazed duck dish. The food at this place is incredibly delicious including the desserts - I will definitely be a regular here.

Came here with my mum last night for dinner. The interior of the restaurant is modest and unassuming, however this was not off-putting. The service is very friendly, although a bit slow- it is clear the takeaway service is their primary business. We didn't mind as we were just chatting and catching up, although we were pretty hungry! The food, however, is superb! It was definitely worth the wait! We had the sizzling scallops in garlic and ginger sauce and the Chin Jiew Chicken. They were both delicious! There was a really generous serving of scallops in the sizzling scallops dish and the Chin Jiew was simply delicious- the right balance of spice and flavour! They were also generous on their pour of wine! We will definitely be here more regularly! Especially since it is so close to my mum's home!

Felt very disappointed with our take away today. Placed my order night before, seems that my order was not understood properly. Dishes were very spicy even if I asked for them to be not spicy.
Have been going to Sun Luk for many many years, it has definitely changed and unfortunately not for the better. 🙁🙁🙁

We've been going to Sun Luk for the last 38 years. Recently the quality of the food has declined sharply. We know their menu off by heart because it hasn't changed. The menu is sadly dated. Recent dishes have been packed out with cheap broccoli. We now call it Broccoli Central and no longer order main dishes. If you want a take away container of broccoli then this is the place for you. We now only order entrees because you can't put broccoli in them. The staff are pleasant and helpful but often get the order wrong, leaving out sauces or other important ingredients. So sad to see a good restaurant decline to a take away joint, and not a very good one at that. I can remember when they were packed out on a Saturday night with in house patrons.

My first time at Sun Luk and I expected good things sadly this was not to be. The spring rolls were okay but completely oil saturated. The fried rice was the best part of the entire meal it was really tasty. The chicken cashew and honey chicken were terrible. The chicken cashew had a nice taste to the sauce and the veggies were crisp but the chicken was such poor quality I couldn't eat it, the honey chicken was also inedible. I won't be back to see if it's just hit and miss.

Sun Luk has been around for so many years (and the decor for the 90's proves that). The food is good and there is always customers inside. The staff are friendly and the flavours in their cooking. This restaurant has stood the test of time.

Used to be our local Chinese place. The food was consistent and good.

But the last time everything was bad. The honey pepper beef sauce was gelatinous and clumpy. We didn't eat much and felt a bit sick afterwards.

We haven't returned since, preferring to keep our pleasant memories of the place intact. Not sure if it has changed owners or what. If I were rating our past experiences it would be a 4.5- can't get much better Chinese takeout food. If it was just our last experience it would be a 2. So settled on 3.5.

I've been going to Sun Luk for years, and it rarely disappoints. Great take away, well priced, reasonably generous serves. Seems ownership has changed, and we had a few spotty meals initially but that seems to have rectified itself. This will remain our staple takeaway as long as they keep this quality going.

Been going there for 20 years. Mainly take away but consistently good. Very rarely disappoints. Has survived a few ownership changes. I must say the few times we have dined in the food was spot on. Overall no complaints. Enjoy

Been going to sun luk for years but it's recently changed hands and is now hopeless. Food has completely gone downhill and you will be lucky to get an order out of this place. Beware - there are so many better options in the area.
Bill
This place won't accept credit cards for purchases less than $30. This restaurant refused my credit card tonight (any credit card not just Amex or Diners) saying that it was cash only for bills less than $30. No warning was given on placing my order. I've never seen such a limit before and won't be going back out of principle. They always used to accept cards but this is over the top. I suggest make sure you have cash if you're ordering a basic meal either eat in or take away. Food quality has also deteriorated significantly so be cautious. There are plenty of other choices in the area.
Visited January 2015

Beware may contain MSG. I am allergic to MSG and had a short soup from here and i reacted quite badly to it. This is just an FYI in case anyone else has an allergy like me!

Sad Really, Really Really. Been a local and going to Sun Luk for over 10 years. Must have changed hands as it is now hopeless. Phone order. Told 20 minutes as usual. Arrived at 20 minutes, waited another 10, paid, left. Arrived home 2 minutes away. Crispy duck roll was cold and soggy. Spring rolls cold and soggy. I've been waiting for this?? Crispy skin chicken ok but they forgot the 5 spice to go with it. Bland and no taste. Steamed chook. Portions were badly cut, bones gristle etc, no idea how to serve the chicken. Had better off the street overseas, SE Asia
Wife had the ginger chicken which was so so, but notice the very little was eaten.
Service at the front deck, cannot complain as there was none. Pointed to the chair when I arrived. No conversation. Didn't ask, stand up, nothing... just pointed to the chairs.
Eating in? Beware the prawn crackers have been on the table all night before you arrive.

After all this time I now have to find another reliable Chinese local as Sun Luk, after the past two visits, has burnt their bridges and reputation.

Useless. If you want good customer service, then try elsewhere. These useless arseholes can't even find the time to answer a telephone.
Rob
Absolutely dreadful takeaway. Greasy spring rolls, dim sims very average and clumpy overcookex fried rice that I doubt had been tossed in a wok. The interior needs a good facelift as well.

Nice suburban Chinese. Has everything on offer you'd expect from a decent Chinese restaurant. It's all very nice but nothing particularly amazing. Still it's at a decent price and service is quick for both eating in and take-away.

Great Chinese!. Had takeaway from here at a friends place nearby, delicious honey beef - could not stop eating!
I wish this was my local Chinese!

Been coming here for years. A fantastic family-feel. The kids (3 year olds) absolutely love "Paddy". The honey pepper beef is to die for!!!!

It's just ok, probably priced a fraction over what is on offer. Don't expect miracles, servicable.

Arrived at 6.30 for a meal and placed our orders. Half an hour later the soup arrived which was nothing special. Then we waited for the entree. After 45 minutes we asked what was keeping the food to be told it'd be ready in 5 minutes. 15 minutes later we asked again, to be told it's on the way. At five past eight we received our entrees and they were cold. At this point we got up and left.
