Review Schnitz Malvern - Malvern

Stan Veloutsos
It's okay. The chicken schnitzel portion is small in size and not very juicy. It could well have been sitting there for a while as i saw many schnitzels cooked sitting on a bench top. The slaw was nice and chips were nice also. Service was good by the girl who served me. Not bad, not amazing.

Okay place I guess. The choice of crumbing is good and serving sizes reasonably. However, it is only going to threaten the most below average beer barn schnitzel and even then it will be a close call.

We got takeway so i cant mention quality of restraunt but i can state my opinion on the food. Many conplaints have been about the food being fatty and fast food. Well duh. Its a quick takeway restraunt not a top notch buffet. The food was great but be wise and balance your diet to prevent being overweight.

Schnitz is one of my favorite places for a quick meal. Their schnitzels are always fresh. I also appreciate that they have a kids menu so everyone in the family can find something they like.

Poor experience. Incorrectly labelled takeaway, and no Spicy Crumb added. Phone call to store wasn't helpful as staff didn't take responsibility for incorrect labelling or missing spice.

Terrible customer experience re Dads Parma Deal. Saw ad online for Deal, went to store to order, staff and manager didn't know anything about the Deal. Said I couldn't order it because they hadnt been told about it, they would prefer I leave the store with no purchase than making an enquiry to find out about it. I felt very uncomfortable in front of other customers trying to explain its on the website. They said i have to order it online then, I suggested I'm in the store, I prefer to order over the counter, I came down specially. It seemed to hard to to look it up online for them. Another order for the same deal came through as an online order and manager ended up providing me the deal with 300ml drink instead of 600ml, I had to correct her on providing the right drink, it all seemed way to hard and stressful for me as a customer. I left the store very frustrated.

What a disappointment… they were 20-mins late for pick-up, they got the order completely wrong and somehow it was even like warm?!? Never going back!

It’s the 2nd time I’m ordering with them through ubereats. They do accept the order, and you have to wait almost an 1h30. To at end not delivering you. Cause the store is closed. If you are closed or you can not make the order, just don’t accept it ! Dont make waste time to the driver and the customer. Honestly unacceptable !

I’ve been ordering food from here for the last few weeks here and there. It’s nice they have vegetarian options, although their vegan schnitzel is very small, and I have a small appetite and it still wasn’t enough. That’s my only gripe. Otherwise they’ve been pretty good! Would recommend.

Ordered GF chicken wrap in a meal only to received gluten crumbed chicken after clearly requesting crumb free chicken. Food in the Bin!

I am being as nice as possible. I went to order some takeaway during the COVID crisis at Schnitz Malvern in the early afternoon of May 16. The Indian/Pakistani manager did not care about enforcing social distancing rules at all in the tiny waiting area for takeaway diners at Schnitz Chadstone.

Also, to put things politely - I wish Schnitz upper management will read my review and will go over practices at Schnitz in Chadstone. I received a wrong order from a customer service rep, for the wrong number, I then received incredibly rude and arrogant attitude from this manager who kept interrupting me when I tried to explain the error and told me ‘not to stand near the kitchen’. She was condescending and rude as she was to two other customers as well. She made loud comments insulting the customers and taking personal potshots at the customers. She also rolled her eyes to me and attempted to argue with my mother as well. Finally, she would not let me talk to her to simply explain the details of my order so that they can get the order right. She was more interested in arguing and being arrogant. It seems her staff there are afraid of her and her big mouth too.

Also, the other staff member taking the order did not check my order and pointed me to take the bag of a different order. This was after I asked him to re confirm the items in my order.

Overall, a horrible experience and one which I hope and pray that Schnitz will do something about.

I recently realised that since I get paid as a contractor by the hour it works out more efficient to pay Uber eats to deliver my food direct to the door of my office place rather than waste time queuing and waiting around. Today I had a schnitz craving and ordered from the Malvern store. Quick and efficient delivery of my Status Quo wrap. I always go for the beef with a spicy crumb and this worked very well with the slaw, cheese and mustard dressing. The schnitzel itself was sadly quite burnt on one side and while not inedible did occasionally have a slight burnt taste. Wasn’t enough to put me off ordering from here again.

How can I be polite when they treat you with disrespect.
Used Uber to place an order here.
Driver arrived before estimated time. Great, I thought
Only half the order delivered.
Ring Snitz's number to be answered by not very good English speaker who also was not German. Haha.
I explained my dilemma and was answered "something, something will ring you back".
No-one rang. After 15inutes I rang back again but not answered. They must have a system where if you've rung before they don't answer. Passed close time now and I'm spitting chips.
I will get my $13.40 back as cash or in revenge.
This is the truth Zomato so please don't block it.

Terrible service and staff who dont care, half the tables were empty yet all dirty. Food came out quick, wraps and chips were good but the parma was bland and way too small for the price.

I’ve always loved Schnitz but today I ordered 2 wraps and a large chips and the chips wasn’t filled to the top. Maybe I’m just being a fatty but it would have been nicer if it was filled to the top and not 3/4.

It was an ok lunch but the people working there are very loud & on their phones the whole time . I was served a good meal & it was fast service but a little rude when thrown on my table . It’s only a takeaway so don’t expect 5 star but it could be a little better but they are not all like malvern

I forgot how good the fries are here at Schnitz. If I lived closed to a schnitz I think I'll order a small serving every day 🤔 I was starving and ordered the Hawaii 5-O combo with fries and a drink. The meal was very filling, the schnitzel was cooked well and the wrap was filled with delicious tasty cheese, pineapple, bacon and bbq relish. The fries that came with the meal was a great portion. Would definitely visit again soon.

When we talk about Schnitz, our mouth starts watering for Fries. They serve nice and crunchy fries.

We are big fans of Schnitz burgers too especially American Dream, Fiery Turban, Garden of Eden (Kunnu loves Beetroot and Aioli) and Parmageddon but we enjoy eating at the Chadstone outlet more than this place. Probably because the filling is much more better there than here. We have been here twice and both times we felt that the filling could have been better.

Service is warm and friendly.
Dam Burger
Very basic parma schnitzel, chips were soft and almost inedible. Came here with a two for one voucher and still felt ripped off. Probably should have ordered a protein wrap instead as I’ve tried that before and it was ok.

I am writing today to complain of the poor service I received from your company on July 12, 2017. I was greeted poorly by a representative of That Awful Franchisee.
I am most annoyed that I wasted my time at your store to receive my food at the time limit of 25 minutes for just SCHNITZ & CHIPS. My impression of That Awful Company has been tarnished, and I will no longer be returning. I will inform my colleagues, my friends, my family and also my enemies to never eat here because of the poor service, wet chips, and very tiny and dry schnitzels.
I trust this is not the way That Awful Company wishes to conduct business with valued customers—I have been with you since the company was founded and have never encountered such treatment before.

I was flabbergasted at the lack of professionalism I really had to write this review to share my experience. Firstly they have incredibly rude staff, overtly yelling at other staff. Food quality is poor. Possibly worst Schnitz I have ever been to.

My power went off again on I blustery August evening in my home town of Oolong hence my custard was off. I had no other planned intention except to hike to the nearest restaurant of Schnitzel across the border in Victoria. After the passing of 2 days and being attacked by a wild Quokka (Lord protect me from evil 🙏) I arrived at the Sound of a battery farm and caged chickens clucking as the slaughter house awaited them. 🐓🗡. In fact, this drove me to bond with the RSPCA (which somehow I have now been promoted to chairperson of the council) and didn't enter. Ce Pendent, my inner palate of taste and flavour sense drove me into this carnivorous restaurant. Once my tears had subsided, I managed to squeak out an order of chips and une wrap of the filited poultry inside. Whilst the seasoning of the chips produced serotonin in my upper lobe, the chicken was not moist and therefore lacked moisture and was not laden with a moist liquid. The décor (similar to my German barn house (which has lacked dampness)) echoed a feel of insecurity and lack of surveillance unlike many counterparts. I as walked out and made friends with Johnstone (the local hobo) the police arrested as I failed to attend court last sat'dy. Farewell my glorious love!

Lincoln ❤️
It's rare I give 5/5 for a take away fast food place but it's stepped up a lot over the past year so deleted the last review and re-reviewed.

Lots of seating inside and the staff on are friendly and happy. They make it to order here unlike my experience at Southland and it's always fresh.

Three of us came in over this weekend and had all chicken - I asked for well done and they did it perfectly.

That honey mustard sauce is seriously good - basic wrap with honey mustard is a winner.

Chips here are streets ahead of next door. And if you are even thinking of getting a schnitzel burger at grilled stop it and come here. Freaking a thousand times better.

Only wish they got onto uber eats or Deliveroo / foodora as to get this delivered would be GREAT.
Cheeseburger Anyone? "Where's The Sauce"?
First and last time i had Snitzel from schnitz. My chicken tasted like fish..... but the chips are fricken amazing! I love the variety of dipping sauces too. But its called schnitz not chips!! Such a shame my chicken was fishy. 😣

Fresh, tasty, quick and good service. The chicken used to make wraps/ burgers is just so tender and cooked perfectly. Not much more to say other than we will be back!

What has happened to this Shnitz outlet? The quality and customer service have disappeared! I visited the shop today and ordered one parma for my son and one Hey Habib wrap for myself. For starters, it took more than 15 minutes for the food to arrive. When it did, I immediately saw that the wrap was nearly empty but for 2 pieces of schnitzel, and it was so loose you could have fit a bottle of soft drink into it! As well, the wrapper was stone cold. I took it up to the manager who apologised and said he’d have a fresh one made and it would take around 4 minutes. Well, another 10 minutes went by and the replacement wrap was brought out, with the manager asking me to check it while he was there. The second one didn’t look much better, which I explained to the manager. His response, as he turned his back and hurried away was “I’ll take that on board” in the same general tone as “yeah whatever.” The second wrap was marginally tighter but had only a mingy bit of eggplant, no humous (which it was supposed to have), was dripping in oil and again the wrapper was stone cold. A really unpleasant meal and not what I paid for. I have had the same wrap many times in the past so I know what it should be like and tonight it was just foul. When a meal is sent back, one would think that the manager would make sure the second one was really good or at least made correctly. Sadly, not the case in this instance. In looking into the kitchen, there were four people basically standing around and working at a snails pace. No wonder the food took so long. Poor management, wrong attitude and disgusting, incorrect food. Given the manager's attitude, it was not worth making a further issue despite paying $11.50 for a pretty disgusting wrap. I just won't go back.

I've been to this store with a mate, food is pretty good for a reasonable price. I enjoy the layout of the place and the service is good. Would go again :)
Still Waiting
Awesome food and awesome service! Why does this take away / franchise have it but everywhere else misses the mark. I'll be back here again.

Yummiest fast food !!. We've eaten in almost all kind of fast food restaurants in 120 cities and Schnitz Malvern can be ranked top 10%. Well !!! not only its clean and tidy...the staff including the cooks and chefs seemed friendly through open kitchen. Carrying smiles on their faces even though loaded with dockets and kept placing orders out. Rolls are fresh and taste is outstanding.
Food and service. We'll give them 10 *****

I'm a self professed schnitzel connoisseur so I'm pretty fussy. Several friends had recommended Schnitz so I went to see if it could live up to the hype. It does. I had the Si Señor and my wife had the American Dream. Both were very fresh and tasty. The Si Señor had a good amount of spice and zest which went well with the schnitzel. The American Dream is a nice take on a classic burger. The chips are by far the best I've had out of all the well known competitors. The dipping sauces are also great.

The restaurant was clean and the service friendly and efficient.

I think the burger joint next door will have to lift its game.

This place has great Schnitz-appeal.
