Review Kim Chi Bowl - Malvern

A cosy, small, but surprising place. The service was friendly by the waitress and the chef. The food options are well thought out. The quality of the chicken in the Katsu curry was phenomenal. Very very soft. The quantity was decent. The prices were reasonable. The seating was quite uncomfortable. Thanks for the experience.

Most humble owner you will ever meet. Fast service and great quality food. You can absolute order anything on the menu and won’t disappoint

A very small restaurant with indoor dining for 8 people only with almost as many seating outdoors on the footpath. Good for quick meals and takeaways. Furniture has an icky feel. Self service cutlery and water. I came for lunch and had a bento box with teriyaki chicken which came with a springroll, hashbrown variation, seaweed salad and miso soup. The chicken was nice but I'm not a springroll fan and while I love seaweed, I don't fancy it in a salad.

The staff (chef) is so very rude and very unprofessional. The food quality used to be not so bad, but now is getting tasteless & more expensive. Will be the last time to buy from this shop, when I pickup the food the chef is so rude showing his angry face, an stressed and angry man shouldn’t open some business because the customer will be running away instantly. I think he has problem with mentality.

I have been this place when we lived. it was cosy, warm with it has right flavour Japanesey food like home cook. we went there after lockdown. somehow it has changed. Not very friendly staff but friendly to local people. it has changed a lot.

Over use of Teriyaki sauce. The fish was extremely and not enjoyable as it was extra sweet. However, lot of food and worth the money.

Some of the best customer service and Japanese food you can find in Melbourne. I had the Aoba Box (bento) with kara age chicken for dinner and it was delicious. The meal was reasonably priced and very filling. I will be coming back for sure to try the daily lunch menu! Tasty gyoza 🥟 juicy, crispy chicken 🍗 fresh salad with sesame (goma) dressing 🥬

Came here for a quick meal with a friend. We both had the Aoba box, one fish and chicken. The food was delicious and the serving size was decent, we didn’t leave feeling hungry. It’s not over priced and the service was friendly.
