This is one of those places that when you eat, you go, "where have you been all my life?" Exquisite foods. Simple menu done so well! Absolutely love the pastry, so light so buttery, so yummy.
Coffee lovers rejoice. This barista knows the craft.
Undoubtedly 5 well deserved stars. My new favourite pastry shop.

A small Cafe at Malvern. Limited menu but quality and flavour was exquisite. With a small staff there can be delays however the food is worth the wait with house made pastries that are fantastic. Well worth a visit

Very decent breakfast... like the quiet ambient that’s not next to the road... cozy and calm...

Really bad. The first croissant came out really burnt (charcoal) and the second one was meant to be ham, cheese and tomato croissant but there was no tomato and it was soggy. The frittata had a hair in it and that turned me right off. The fresh juice was great but the rest was so bad, we won’t be back. It’s a shame because 2 weeks ago we came and there was a different menu, different staff and a better experience.

Every time I am in Adelaide I visit Gateaux... at least twice. They're known for their pastries and truly unique and delicious desserts, but do not look askance at the coffee- that's worth it all by itself. They know their craft and love what they do. The best spot to treat yourself in all of Adelaide, and beyond.

2 visits. 2 very different experiences.
1st time: Delicious food. Great fresh juices. Pretty good coffee
2nd time: long wait. burned croissant. Found a hair in the soggy frittata. Apple core in salad. Nobody seemed to be in charge either.

Comfortable environment. Coffee was OK but cakes were pretty good.

Atmosphere nice. Coffee was good. Would say they are still learning the ropes. Is to acknowledge us,but then friendly. Good selection of cakes.
