Very disappointed 😞 was looking forward too this too be sadly disappointed 😞 my husband waited 45min for a 🍺 ordered basil chilli prawn got chicken tastless let alone the rest of the order very disappointed. Kinnarri Rockingham best Thai since moving too WA. 110% I got a reply from ?? Silk owner and apparently they looked at CTV and my husband waited ✋️ not 45min but 5min!!! Lol i promise you it definitely was not 5min!!! As for our order we definitely did not agree to chicken we asked for PRAWNS! Do you think maybe the customer was right ?? How dare you accuse me for dumping on your restaurant. Oh also we did not eat most of our meal pictures tell the story!! I give a honest and true review as we expect what we pay for,as it's money out of our pocket and value for our money shouldn't be something we gambel on. When we left i looked back and your waitress stood at our table looked out at us shook her head with a disgusting look on her face ! Did you get that on CTV??

Amazing thai restaurant in Mandurah. Reasonably price for lunch service and terrific taste. It is worth the price. I ordered thai green curry with thai spicy level and it surprised me that the taste is "the real" spicy. The portion is generous for the price point. For the service, we had to wait a bit for the sit but the staff are friendly, the even comeback to us when we did mistakenly double order for the rice. The manager also come to us for check if the food was okay. Overall it is terrific from the service, food and taste. One of the recommended restaurants around mandurah for lunch.

The best Thai restaurant in Mandurah by far. Delicious food, great atmosphere. We love coming here regularly with family. The staff are great and very attentive. Definitely would recommend.

Great food, great service, very accommodating. Definitely one of the best Thai restaurants in WA. This restaurant was so good, that we visited two nights running to try other parts of the menu. The Thai fish cakes are definitely the best I’ve ever had. I’d totally recommend this restaurant to anyone either living in or visiting Mandurah.

It’s been a week we have been there but still cannot forget the taste of the food. From entrees to main, the food was phenomenal. Best Thai food we had in Perth. Cannot wait to go there once again. Excellent customer service. My husband and friends surprised me for my birthday and they made it a success. The manager was very friendly. Thank you Silk Thai. We’ll be back soon.

Ok , soup came out and i was in heaven , posted on FB its the best Thai restaurant in Mandurah , the service was fantastic , and thats not enough credit they were great , then the main course , well , jungle curry , 3 🌶 it came out warm at best and if it had a rating of 3 chillis i would be very surprised , the Matso chilli beer was hotter , I ordered the seafood rice and the only seafood in it was some cheap fish nothing else , i then order the BBQ duck and for $32 i would have expected at least a full Half of duck but no , impressive that they come out and light a fire before they serve you but a bit more for the price would have been great , overall food was good , Service was great but for $128 including 3 beers no i wont be back

Tonight we shared a mix grill that had lamb,duck,pork belly,stake and rice it was all so yummy and we highly recommend going here for dinner.

The service is good and the meal was to die for well worth the money can't wait to go back there again

The food was Devine and just as importantly the experience was loverly. From the introduction in the menus to the explanations regarding dishes and specials to the general banter from the staff and owners, we had a really really loverly night. Will certainly be back!

Sa wa dee, Silk Thai aroy aroy! Great service, and authentic Thai flavours, love the food and ambience of this taste of Thailand in Mandurah. Have followed this restaurant from it's humble beginnings and still impressed with what it offers today. Dee mak mak!

Excellent food and attentive service. We 3 were squeezed in without a booking, near the kitchen, with unnecessary apologies but that it would be 'just like being in Bangkok'! Kitchens are an entertainment in themselves so we would probably have chosen the table anyway, and yes, it was reminiscent of the chaos of Bangkok, but our food came very quickly (how do they do that?). VERY reasonable prices (for liquor and food) and generous serves. This was our first, but definitely not our last visit.

This place is AMAZING!!!! Can't fault it. � Everytime I have been here, the service has been fantastic, no waiting for food and the food is sooo yummy! I have recently been to Thailand and it doesn't compare to this.

Wednesday night visited and had the best flavorful meals in a long time. Staff members were very helpful and pleasant. Explained details of ingredients in the dishes and recipes.<br/>Overall excellent and very reasonably priced.

From the decoration the restaurant looks a higher class than an average Thai Restaurant to me. The service and food are both average. We only tried two noodles dishes for lunch and didn't try any curry yet. Despite one of the dishes is listed with two chilis (mean medium hot) but it's not really hot at all except the chef put a few cut chilli at the side.

Ordered for takeaway. The pad Thai was meh. Definitely very average in comparison to others we’ve had and ended up being given to the toddler who is not fussy with his food at all. The Thai Beef salad had very large tough beef that looked boiled and extremely tough. Most other restaurants do thinner slices and grilled or at least pan fry for a caramelised tender finish with more depth of flavour. The vegetables were thick chunky pieces not bite sized and not much of a salad really as opposed to just lettuce, onion, celery and capsicum. And the dressing oh my goodness it was just soup. Just looked like there was no care taken in its preparation, something I’d expect from a fast food or food court. The fried rice was bland which was perfect for my fussy 9 y/o son who loves bland food, so that was kinda ok I suppose lol Sorry but I will not be returning and most definitely can not in good conscience recommend this place when there are so many good food around to chose from around there.

Has to be the best Thai restaurant in Mandurah. The food is authentic and very tasty. The service is outstanding particularly from the farung!

Silk Thai never disappoints. Authentic Thai, great service, fast and reliable. My favourites Pad Kee Maow with duck and Gaeng Keow Warn, sharp and sweet, the mainstay of Thai curries.

Things I liked - <br/>• Food was yummy. We had a pad thai and fried rice (not my choice but compromised for bae). The pad thai was 💯 The fried rice was kinda bland but apparently good 🤗 Also had a fried tofu with peanut sauce.<br/>• Service was quick and fast. There was an old lady who was eccentric and made a huge scene (in a fanny way) when the hot plates were delivered to a table each time. <br/>• Servings were huge. It was kinda pricey but I guess the sizes make up for it. <br/><br/>Didn't like - <br/>• Wanted to mix up the entrees a bit, ie 2 of this or 2 of that, but the waiter wouldn't accommodate this at all. Disappointed.

Great food...very fresh !! Love the Massaman beef and chicken cashew stirfry. Speedy and reliable delivery service as well !! Friendly staff, would definitely recommend Silk Thai

Busy restaurant on a Saturday night - book ahead for a table if you can. We had the cashew wok stirfry: there were a few cashew nuts and the sauce tasted more like oyster sauce than anything else. The satay stirfry was nice with plenty of fresh vegetables.

Beautiful restaurant interior & great friendly service. The food was delicious; light & refreshing. Probably the best chicken satay I've ever had.

To quote the Laz "That was to die for" flavor sensation. Ticked every box. Stunning and can't be faulted. To quote me, "bloody hell that was good" Laz jungle curry, me pad mee taow with duck. Food was great, service was quick and reasonably priced

Worst service I've ever experienced! Bully, aggressive owner who has no problem abusing his customers when faced with a simple complaint. According to this place the customer is never right. Would give 0 star if I could. This is not the first bad review of Silk Thai, there are others because of management behaviour and his attitude toward customers. Others have also found him to be arrogant and passive aggressive. Those who gave better reviews just haven't had the pleasure of his company yet. How does our complaint of not getting our order (no food, at all) give you the right to tell us we have an attitude? Will never return ever, ever again.<br/><br/>

Decent Thai place, I recommend the mixed seafood Tom Kha soup. I do with that the vegetables that they used in the curries were more authentic, but I understand the struggle between being authentic and being contemporary.

My good wife and I thoroughly enjoyed a very tasty dinner at the Silk Thai Restaurant.<br/><br/>The restaurant is tastefully decorated with splashes of color but without going to a gaudy style.<br/><br/>My beef chilli dish was spicy and delicious.<br/><br/>Di's cashews dish was superb.<br/><br/>Staff were friendly and warm.<br/><br/>I wish this place was closer to home.

Wow I was blown away with the flavours! It was spicy and authentic. We ordered the pad thai, duck curry and cashew chicken. The cashew chicken was brilliant! The duck was over cooked and tough but the curry sauce was nice. Can't wait to go back again!

The only disappointment is not getting a table, essential to make a reservation. This place is PACKED and it deserves to be. Love the service, ambiance, and the FOOD. The best Thai food in Western Australia and I am from Perth. Get you Thai fix or just good food here NOW.

What a disgusting meal and service!! Never return again and passing the word around.  Owner is very defensive when given feedback of a negative nature. Maybe he shouldn't ask how the meal was if he doesn't want an honest answer.

Surprisingly good Thai food in Mandurah! Curry was well balanced, garlic mussels were fragrant and tasty (missing a bit of spice) and overall flavours were authentic. Impressed.

Food was faultless....<br/>Four of us and none of the dishes were under an 8....<br/>Lovely welcome but service went down hill from there. <br/>Food came out randomly and no service after mains at all.<br/>waited 20mins for coffee order...<br/>Will be back but service lets an amazing food experience down.

Very disappointing!. We went here for lunch. The restaurant was fairly quiet so there was no pressure on the kitchen. After we had ordered we were having food given to us that we had not even ordered. Rather than the owner apologizing for the mistake, he tried to get us to eat it and pay for it anyway. We found this very rude and unprofessional!<br/><br/>As for the food itself, it was very bland. All of or dishes contained seafood, that tasted like it had simply been boiled and added to the dish at the end. I questioned this when we were paying the bill and was told that they steam the seafood separately, and add it at the end. That explained why it had no taste at all.<br/><br/>Having been to Thailand 4 times (which you can't compare the genuine food to most Australian Thai restaurants) and eaten at nearly all of the Thai restaurants in Perth (& other states) we found it to be probably the worst "Aussie" Thai food we have been served.<br/><br/>Perhaps they had a bad day, it happens. We won't return though as the owner was rude & unprofessional.

Take away stuff up. Have been a cple of times and enjoyed the food... Tonight decided to order takeaway and rock up and our order was taken by someone else. Managers daughter stuffed it and was working the take away so its probably all about the money and not the service. After another 15 mins got our order and some one else was driving back into get their order. Asked about a discount and was told quite coldly that we got our original order. Got home and it was real crap they stuffed up the takeaway orders and then tried to make up with quick replacements.. aaawww not nice food at all

Have been many times before and enjoyed each visit. Food well presented and large portions - very tasty. Since moving into new premises does seem to have lost some of its character & Thai charm. Also more expensive than on previous occasions but still a popular eating place.

As a vegetarian I often find it very hard to find a decent meal when dining out. Silk Thai is different. You can have any curry or stir fry with any meat (or vegetables and tofu) and they charge according to your filling. I think I have just about have everything on their menu by now! LOVE IT!! <br/><br/>Best Thai Food I have had in Australia!

Disappointing. This was our first visit to this restaurant and I must say I was disappointed. We had take away and although the Beef Satay was delicious, it was over shadowed by the other two dishes we ordered. The Beef Salad have beef strips with large amounts of gristle on them and the seafood in the Seafood Platter was not very nice on eating.

A Delicious Dinner Experience. Four of us had dinner on Wednesday 7 January at Silk Thai. We had made a booking a week before. Because it was a warm evening we asked if we could sit outside and they accommodated our request without any fuss. The wait staff were very friendly and helpful without being intrusive. We ordered vegetarian dishes of Spring Rolls, Pla Lard Prik (fish) and Pad Thai. The meals were delivered in good time, presentation was excellent and the food was delicious. I would highly recommend Silk Thai on your next visit to Mandurah.

Great food and service. I have now been here 3 times with family and have loved it every time.<br/>The service is fantastic and very friendly. The owner even personally came to check everything was ok.<br/>The food came out promptly and it was all delicious and very fresh.<br/>All of it was great but the curry puffs were outstanding. <br/>We will definitely return when jn Mandurah.

The Food Was Horrible Not Worth It at All. Red thai curry tasted like water and meat rice was gluggy worst meal I have ate

Used to be fantastic. Stayed in Mandurah a year ago for work for a few months and ate here many many times as the food was to die for just like being in Thailand. Went for a trip down today (1 hour away) and was so looking forward to the same delights, well was so disappointed ordered the massaman with beef it was like trying to eat an old rubber boot gave up.....Thai green curry also very ordinary my favourite was always the Tom Kha also very ordinary, what a total disappointment especially after all the raves I have given this restaurant . They have changed their location to a bigger venue so maybe this has something to do with this,so sad because all in all its so hard to find great food around perth and surrounding areas, won't be craving for Silk Thai no more damn shame as this restaurant was never a miss 

Could be great but .... On the recommendation of friends I went to Silk. My first experience was fine. It is a simple restaurant - a bit messy/chaotic but the food was delicious - Chicken with Cashews. So after that pleasant experience I went again and ordered an all time favourite of mine, Beef Massaman. Wow, what a disappointment. It was cooked as a stir-fry. The beef strips were so tough I could barely chew them and the sauce was runny and tasteless. When I mentioned my observations to the owner he told me that he was aware it was not slow-cooked in the traditional way and that other patrons had complained but said as they also offered Massaman Chicken and Massaman Seafood which is why the beef was stir-fry? I thought the owner was an idiot. It has really put me off going there again. I wouldn't recommend it.

Horrible. Went here after the good reviews but was terribly disappointed. The beef was very tough and difficult to chew in both stir-fry and curry dishes. The curry sauce wears runny and lacked authentic flavour. Possible frozen packet veggies. Won't be going here again.

Best Authentic Thai in Mandurah!. This was my original review from Trip Advisor - back in May 2014:<br/>We dined here for the first time last Saturday evening for my Fathers birthday - WOW - just delicious!<br/>The staff were wonderful - the young girl who took our order was right on the ball and Aranya (I think) was a great host. It was busy and the food arrived promptly, which was great.<br/>Highly recommend the Roast Duck in Honey Sauce Sizzling Hot Plate (see photo!!) which was also great entertainment, we also enjoyed the Tom Yum Soup, Massaman Cury, Pad Thai & Chicken Salad (Larb Gai) - all were lovely. This is now our favourite restaurant in Mandurah - book early as they book out fast....! In fact, I'm booking again right now :) <br/>Now to add to this Nov 2014:<br/>We have been a multitude of times now & can say they are faultless!! Just wonderful - every dish is flavorsome (still completely hooked on the sizzling duck!!) - needless to say we are such regulars we may as well move in... Mr D Campbell. Cannot comment on the food I presume it must be great as they didn't need our custom! left at the outside tables for 20 min with no one enquiring to our wellbeing, or offering to sell us a cool drink. so we voted with our feet and walked out . Where welcomed at another restaurant.

Overcrowded. After seeing a table who arrived after us receive drinks we requested some service we were treated like school children and told they were working throug the tables in the order they arrived. The food was ok but slow to arrive.

John S/S. The food served here is unbelievably good. Fronted up without booking on a very busy Saturday evening and was looked after without fault. Churchview Rose wine went exceptionally well with the dishes we chose. Will be back again real soon!

Visiting Mandurah and decided to try this based on hearing good reviews and I must say it was actually one of the best Thai food experiences I've had! And superb, genuine service. I agree that one of the employees is a little young to be working but it was a Saturday night and she did appear to be enjoying herself. Will travel out of our way next time to have this again!

Not only was the food amazing the service was awesome It's so nice to taste authentic Thai food and even better to finally have somewhere in mandurah to dine and experience such delicious food. We will be back. A special thanks for catering for my fathers birthday with a last<br/>minute sundae ice cream. Would love to see a dessert menu with the classics - mango sticky rice, stewed banana coconut. But none the less - a must!

Only 1 problem. We love this place. It has authentic Thai food, not gluggy (unauthentic) Thai food like some other serve, or overly sweet, or laden with disgusting sauces, the service is incredible every time, but the only problem is how hard it is to get in! No idea what some people on here are complaining about.

Briiliant Thai. Have been twice in the last 2 weeks with different parties - and we all loved the experience.<br/>The first time my juice was forgotten, but Ken the owner quickly fixed this and I was not charged for it. Oddly, the same thing happened the 2nd time, but this time the "ask twice and it's free" policy wasn't applied (Ken wasn't there this night).<br/>It was all delicious, except for the entree spring rolls which were quite bland.

Great meal. Visited Silk Thai for the first time early this month. Got a great table with no reservation. Staff were very firendly, good reasonably priced food, highly recomend Thai Silk if your looking for a good place to dine in Mandaruah.<br/><br/>PS: try the honey duck.....

Good food and service, however, I soon noticed a very very young employee, she is only 11 years old working hard in the restaurant until 10.30!! (she should be in bed not working) unfair child Labour if you ask me! I asked her if she gets paid and she responded, "no, I just get pocket money" she better be getting over $100 pocket money poor girl.

Simply the best!!!!. Not only do the staff tend to your every need, the owner, Ken, will check on your table regularly to make sure everything is as it should be! The food is as good as it gets and is a visual feast as well as scrumptious fare ! The 'flamed' dishes are a welcome spectacle and the many Thai chefs in the kitchen are always busy creating spectacular authentic dishes. I have eaten less authentic dishes in my travels to Thailand !!! 101% to Ken and Silk ! P.s... Order the duck red curry !!

A taste of Thailand. Thai food as it should be - fresh and delicious - with excellent and friendly service. An authentic Thai dining experience. The combination entree solved the dilemma of having to decide between the desirable options available and whetted the appetite for the meal to follow. The chicken, seafood and duck options left a pleasant, fresh taste in the mouth which is all too often missing. A real credit to the owner, family and staff. IFR.

Finally good food in Mandurah!!. So great to finally east at a place in mandurah that has it all - good food, good atmosphere, great service, and reasonably priced dishes. We come down to Mandurah most weekends and its lovely to now have a place that we can enjoy!! Well done team :)

So good, our first time and we loved it! We ordered the steak salad, pineapple curry with chicken and fried rice. All fantastic, will definitely be going back.

Excellent Thai food. Silk Thai is a wonderful Mandurah surprise. A small restaurant just off Mandurah Tce (you could so easily miss it!), we had a delightful and flavoursome meal tonight. There aren't many tables, so we suggest you book; we were lucky to be squeezed in (graciously) as walk-ins. We were glad to be offered an ice-bucket (don't rely on Liquorland across the road to provide cold wine, BTW; and Silk is BYO.) For entree, we shared some tasty curry puffs, unadorned but good prawn skewers, and slightly sweet chicken satay sticks - all three impressed. The puffs and prawns came with delicious and different sauces. For main, we shared a green chicken curry that was superb. The chicken itself was unusually tender, and the sauce an excellent combination of spicy, sweet and sour. <br/><br/>Service was unusually attentive; the owner really cares you enjoy your meal, and the waitstaff are prompt. The spice rating runs from one chilli to four - three chillis is "Australian hot" (this made us laugh); four chillis is "Thai hot". Two chillis ("medium") was just right for us.<br/><br/>We would rate this among the best Thai restaurants we've tried in Perth, with unusually good service and a pleasant atmosphere, and very good food at a fair price; our meal for two came out at $50.

Authentic Thai !!!. In desperate need of a top notch Tom Yum and a Thai Beef Salad, I came across this gem. It was 5pm on Friday and was pleasantly surprised to see there was room for a table of 4 at 6.30pm. <br/>When we arrived we were greeted warmly and shown to our table in the small but inviting dining room.<br/>Entrees were ordered in the form of Tom Yum soup, spring rolls, while the kids got straight to business with chicken satays and special fried rice.<br/>For mains it was a thai beef salad and a green chicken curry and steamed rice.<br/>All the meals were wonderfully presented and as authentic as you can get, with some wonderful flavours and obvious personal touches from the Chef. I would venture to say that this is easily the best Thai restaurant in the Peel region. <br/>Although it was busy , we waited no more than 10 minutes for each course with a total bill around the $70 mark. Superb value for such a fantastic meal.<br/>Will be back soon !

Great food!. Wow - what a great meal! Sue' s (my wife) Thai green curry was amazing -especially with the jasmine steamed rice. The stir fry /wok seafood was sensational - I have never tasted squid and scallop like that before...<br/><br/>The serving sizes were just right and the service just capped off a great evening....

Authentic Thai food and the Tom Yum soup was exquisite! They really don't hold back when you ask for "Thai hot". Service was excellent as well. Will definitely be back!

New Years Eve. Sorry to take so long to write this but I must. I emailed on 30th December to see if we could get a table for NYE not expecting much luck, within half an hour I had a call to squeeze us in before we went on the Christmas Lights Boat tour, fab! I have never had a thai meal as lovely as this, anywhere, the green curry was gorgeous. Service was excellent and the portions were more than enough for a very fair price. Thanks to Ken for being so welcoming and accommodating, we'll be back when we're next in Mandurah, well done.

Loved it several times!. I read some of the reviews here and each to their own. The Thai food here is more representative of REAL Thai food, thats if you have eaten real Thai food in Thailand, not at the swim up bar at the Westin in Phuket! At least they are staying true to Thai and not some of the restaurants that have adapted dishesfor Aussie tastes. We have found the food to be wonderful and will be going back. The best part is the service, something that is still lacking in WA. I say keep doing what you are doing. Its a small restaurant and there will be enough people to appreciate that your food is real, fresh and great quality. And its great that you add lots of vegetables. There are so many unhealthy people around the place its nice to have fresh vegetables as part of the dish. Thats what you would get in Thailand! There are other Thai restaurants in town if people want to go elsewhere.

Completely Wonderful. My hubby Kevin took me to the Silk Thai restaurant for the first time for my birthday tonight. We had a wonderful entree of tasty spring rolls to share then an exquisite Pad Thai, a sumptuous fish and seafood dish with steamed rice. The service was impeccable. The setting lovely. I am thinking they should be moving to a bigger restaurant because I am sure they will be overflowing due to growing popularity. We will certainly go back and try more dishes. Mandurah could learn many lessons from this restaurant owner. Well done and we wish you all the best with your restaurant.

Overpriced below average food. Dont expect a conversation....its SO loud in here you can barely hear anyone else on your table. Besides this, the food was severely overpriced for small portions and definately not worth going back for. Spend your money elsewhere.

Outstanding. A group of 10 of us went to dinner last night. First impression on arrival was how beautiful the tables looked. You immediately felt welcomed. Service & food was outstanding. At last someone in Mandurah has got it right. Cant wait to go back to try some different dishes.Thanks to Ken & staff for making it such a special night.

In spite of the previous notes the servings were generous & the staff could not have been more helpful. In addition, there is no charge for bringing your own alcohol. Clarifying Silk's Standards. Thanks to everyone who has submitted their feedback. We are very passionate about the food and service we provide. Despite attempts to contact reviewers privately and in good faith to discuss negative reviews, no response has been received. We must post a reply here to address their concerns and several issues must be clarified regarding the negative comments on takeaways. Firstly, we are a restaurant, not a takeaway. Although we offer a takeaway service, good Thai food does not work as well in a plastic container. Secondly, authentic Thai curries are not thick creamy indian-style curries, they are light and have plenty of sauce. There is no difference in the amount of meat and vegetables in our takeaway meals compared to our dine-in meals. Lastly, our fried rice is a full-of-flavour meal in its own right and should not be used a a base for our main courses. Plain steamed Jasmine rice is the only way the flavours and richness of our main courses should be complimented. Based on your own comments, there is a reason why we are so busy. Please try an evening with us in the restaurant instead of a one-off takeaway, and you may then understand the standards offered at Silk. Warmest Regards.

Best Thai Mandurah. Fantastic Thai Green Curry . Best out of Thailand. The honey duck was ok but needed more sauce. Lovely family restaurant and the owner was more than helpful in food choices. His daughter was the chief waitress and was absolutely fantastic. Well done!!! We will be back

Great service and great food. The guy that served i assume is the owner and has a vested interest in serving his clientelle. Can tell he is very experienced at his job and makes for an enjoyable experience, if only most places in Mandurah could take after this place for service.

Delicious. Ordered take away tonight, the food was ready on time and the service was friendly and attentive. We were delighted with the meals we had ordered... fresh, flavoursome and delicious, definitely recommended!

Lasting impression. We found the service very hospitable and attentive. The Green curry was very flavoursome and the freshness of the vegetables was very crisp. The lamb was flambed at the table and tasted great. <br/>A little bit of a wait for the food to arrive ( restaurant was full though ) but the host gave constant feedback of when it would be served......that dosent happen often!<br/>Great first impression, will be back again to try out more of the menu. Price very reasonable. Thumbs up!

Ordered takeaway, service upon pickup was amazingly friendly & welcoming. Thought this was a good sign of the food to come. Sadly we were very disappointed with everything we ordered. Food was very watery/runny & lacked some flavour, has been awhile since we've eaten Thai food, perhaps our expectations were too high (??), won't be trying again unfortunately. Restaurant was busy tho.
