Review Flics Kitchen - Mandurah

Jonathan Quay
Quite easily one of my favourite places to eat in Mandurah. Amazing menu with flavours to match. The place is in a very convenient spot and there are quite a few seats in the restaurant. Parking is easy to find nearby, the staff are all so helpful and friendly. The food is really good! Flavours are well matched and the dishes are creative and very well presented. If you’re staying in Mandurah or just passing by this is one of those restaurants I’d say you have to visit! Do yourself the favour.

There is some serious talent in the kitchen matched by the skill of the mixologists behind the bar! I was a little disappointed by the long wait between dishes and the feeling that the chefs selection was bad value after leaving slightly hungry... all in all it was a delightful experience

Really nice food with super nice staff we love coming here and watching the view across the water and everyone walking by. We came down here on a Saturday afternoon and just simply loved it, it's been a week since we've been down here but we are still talking about it

One of the best meals we have had in a long time. Everything was absolutely flawless. If you’re in Mandurah, do not miss this place!

Seafood degustation night was our first visit to Flics, it will not be our last. Sensational food, perfectly cooked and beautifully presented, so many flavours and textures it was impossible to fault and the service was slick, precise and friendly. Do your taste buds a favour and visit Flics

The food here is different, tasty and presented beautifully. The meals are recommended to be shared, however, our concern was four of us on a small table, it was challenging to find space. We had to put table items on the ground to have enough room for a few items. They offer gin tasting paddles and bottemless brunch here (restricted hours). A little on the $$ side but again, high quality food and a twist on classic favourites.

Enjoyed a fantastic vegan five course degustation with my work colleagues. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening. The food was outstanding and the staff went above and beyond to make it a special event.

This is as good as any place we have been anywhere. The signature dish, the homemade Gnocchi is to die for. Everything else, including the service is top notch. Craft beers and great wines, gins etc make Flics a terrific dining experience.

Can we give 6 stars the food is next level, the atmosphere is infectious and the staff are spectacular. Recommend everyone to eat here, breakfast lunch or dinner, you won’t be disappointed

The Gnocchi is to DIE for! Loved everything we ordered. Friendly staff and great selection of wines. Highly recommend and will definitely be back!

Food, menu, prices and service are excellent. 1/8th of a point off for inadequate air conditioning. YES it was a hot day and the sun was setting on the front windows but I'm sure a decent fridgie and sunshades could rectify this issue. So pleased we have such a great eatery in Mandurah !!!
Tracey Gregory
Food was pretty good but the service really let it down, we had to ask every time we wanted a drink, dessert and coffee, almost felt like the staff was to busy...on the plus side it was good to see a vegan option on the menu..
Elaine Jones
Had the best meal on Sat night to share....pork belly and crispy duck with tasty rocket salad...wonderful flavours....happy friendly staff...great atmosphere...
Alan Daly

Having now dined at Flic’s for lunch and then dinner, my wife and I cant wait to try their breakfast offerings. This is the best food in Mandurah by far, a combination of flair, creativity and imagination complimented with friendly and unobtrusive service. Keep up the good work guys. Tommy Gordon, Meadow Springs. 👍🍽🍸🔝👌
Sam Letch
Never had bad meal here, breakfast is divine, served with great coffee and attentive but not obtrusive staff.
Narelle King
Had lunch for 4 adults today for Mums birthday. Sat outside. Lovely day for it. Service was friendly and not a long wait at all. Chose 5 different dishes to share. We all loved the food and the price. Our 1st time there and will definitely be back and I highly recommend it. Most of all Mum loved it to.

My job has me hosting clients for meals and coffeee all over Perth from as far south as Mandurah and as far north as Two Rocks and I always look forward to coming here.

Best breakfast in Mandurah...tried other places but nothing compares to Flics kitchen. Great coffee, friendly service and beautifully served food. 5 stars from our family.
Turbo
Best breakfast in Mandurah hands down. Great uniqueness to the menu with something different to most other places as well as the ole favourites ie Smashed Avo. I had the pork belly with poached eggs and an amazing chilli mayo. Will be going back.

Very disappointing, such great reviews, maybe I caught them on a bad day.

Food was average, average, average - not unenjoyable, but not great... as was the coffee.

Friendly staff, lovely decor- but would not return.
Reshad Mirnour
Good quality food. Very kind and friendly staff
Food size are generally small, if you are a big eater you have to order 2 which will definitely cost you more.

Just 1 Hour South of Perth, Western Australia you have Mandurah, a small Coastal City It is the state's second-largest city, with a population just ahead of that of Bunbury.
Mandurah's central business district is located on the Mandurah Estuary, which is an outlet for the Peel Inlet and Harvey Estuary. The city takes its name from a Noongar word meaning "meeting place" or "trading place". A townsite for Mandurah was laid out in 1831, two years after the establishment of the Swan River Colony, but attracted few residents.

There are only a few Restaurants worth a review, in my Opinion and Flics has got to be my all time Favourite.

Situated along Mandurah Terrace amongst shops, coffee shops and a couple of Bars you have Flics Kitchen which overlooks the Foreshore where you'll be able to sit and people watch and look at boats go by.

Neat, modern, vibrant, trendy and clean. Flics is a great place to sit and have a coffee, glass of wine, breakfast, lunch or dinner with Friends, Family or your Partner. Or even a cheeky cocktail or two...

I Love the Breakfast Menu, as they have some really good fresh juices as well as some yummy hot drinks such as matcha, turmeric or beetroot Latte and a variety of Dairy Free milk options.

My Partner and myself quite frequently visit Flics Kitchen in Mandurah because the food is always good. When you find somewhere that does good vegan options, you keep coming back.

Flics Kitchen, Mandurah Restaurants, Reviews, Foodie, Dairy Free, VeganFlics Kitchen, Mandurah Restaurants, Reviews, Foodie, Dairy Free, Vegan
Coffees can be made with a range of Dairy Free Milks

The Lunch and Dinner Menu. - The spiced sweet potatoes is one of the tastiest dish I've ever had and if you look around the restaurant at what people are ordering, you will see it is quite a popular choice.

Vegan Food, Recipes, Reviews, Dairy Free, MandurahVegan Food, Recipes, Reviews, Dairy Free, Mandurah
Delicious

My partner eats almost anything when we go out so he's tried most of the menu. Best place to have brekky in Mandurah😍
Love the smoothies and smash avocado on toast. Healthy choice. The crispy chicken waffle is the must try items as well.

If you're only going to one place in Mandurah, EAT HERE!

Great service and ambiance (right near the water, able to hear dinner companions, nice lighting/decor). Haven't found many places like this in Mandurah/was not expecting this. Food was exceptional for a reasonablish price (admittedly on the higher side).

We didn't go full tapas (which they recommend, at ~6 dishes for 4 people), instead sharing two dishes between two plus a side. We were unbelievably full after, so if you are planning on doing a dish per person, also get enough sides for one side between two and you'll be more than happy.

Ordered the gnocchi which was delicious (can be quite rich if you're only eating this, order the salad to cut through), and an awesome vego option that meat eaters would also love. Parsnips were tasty but a bit too sweet, the same goes for the pork according to my dinner mates. They said the duck was amazing and the highlight for them. The salad and chips were tasty sides. I was concerned about serving sizes from the pictures but we left overfull, and the gnocchi in particular is a decent serve. There was also an extensive drinks range (non-alcoholic and alcoholic).

This isn't cheap but if it's just food then it's around ~30 dollars a head to be extensively well fed.

The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The service was great too! The chocolate brownie with peanut butter ice cream, salted caramel and nougat was amazing.
Milky Teng
Great food and friendly service. We had sweet potato fritter, gnocchi, and salt and pepper squid. The squid was amazing especially the sauce.

Often end up here for a long lunch with the girls. Always a lovely meal. The drinks are a big hit and you wish you could stay longer and try more! 🍷 🍸 🍹🥂

Went here for dinner on a Thursday night with my partner. The decor and atmosphere was modern and hip. We ordered the Roasted Chicken, the Lamb and the Gnocchi to share. Every single dish was delicious! You can taste the time, effort and passion put into each meal. The Chef really knows what he is doing! The staff were all lovely and friendly too. It was worth every cent. I’d highly recommend any foodies in the Perth area to try it.

I really can’t describe how delicious the food was here. The photos can’t begin to do it justice.
Great location overlooking the water, friendly helpful wait staff too
Little Chef
Nice decor and doors that open on to the waterfront. We had the charcuterie plate between 4 then 4 mains to share all we great a stand out was the lamb dish.
Only criticism would be the sour dough bread for $6 was very small portion.
Eggbert
Quite simply the best restaurant in Mandurah. Great cocktail and beer menu served by waitstaff who genuinely enjoy craft beer and great food. The menu is creative and consistently fantastic.
Magpie
Lunch in the sunshine.
Very attentive service and dishes brought out in a blink from ordering.
Decided on two share dishes. Crab croquets and the charcuterie. Both quite nice.
Mmmmmmarsha
Mouth watering selection of food and juice and can't forget the cocktails.

What a way to kick start days off on a stay-cation. Good location and friendly service.

Buon Gusto
The best in town by far. The Whiting fillets were beautifully done as was the prawns and chicken dishes. We also shared a platter of olives, chorizo and this was delicious. The prawns on the halloumi base was delicious. The salad with the whiting so fresh n crunchy. The chicken with chestnut cream was yummy. If I lived here I would be there daily. Will be back tomorrow.

This restaurant gives some of the top restaurants in Perth a run for their money. With the 'it's kinda like tapas' menu it's the perfect share plate experience. The staff are legends and it's a great experience every time you walk through the door

Amazing Gnocchi......the best !!!! And loved the affogata dessert range. Will definetly be coming back and telling our friends. No where in Mandurah with this standard of food......Thank you

Flic's Kitchen is by far the best lunch in Mandurah. We had the oxtail pie, exmouth prawns and black salt and Chinese pepper squid between two of us. They were all so delicious. We decided to treat ourselves and have dessert too, both choices were incredibly good also. All up it was $95 for two of us ( including a large cider) which was good value for the quality of the food. Flic's Kitchen so glad to have found you, we will be back very soon!

I visited Flic's Kitchen for breakfast this morning, and enjoyed every part of my experience.

Although I'm not usually a breakfast person I decided to try something new and ordered the 'Sweet Potato & Quinoa Fritters' with a side of Avocado and I am so glad I did. They were amazing.

Everything that was served to our table was plated beautifully and thoroughly enjoyed. The service was excellent, drinks were lovely and the decor was so fresh and inviting.

I cannot wait to return to Flic's Kitchen and try more off their exciting menu! Highly recommend.

Our favorite place in Mandurah! Breakfast menu is delicious, chicken and waffles is my favorite, staff are friendly and attentive, would recommend to anyone visiting Mandurah or locals the same!
Love Eating Out
Amazing.
Mum and I ventured here for lunch on a Wednesday and we were very impressed. The décor is fresh and inviting.
It was packed (big group booking) but the service we received was great even though they were busy. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
We ordered 2 dishes to share (wish we could have eaten more!). We had the whiting fillets which were cooked beautifully and the side salad with the buttermilk dressing was delicious. Then we moved on to the gnocchi and we were in heaven. The gnocchi was so tender and soft and the sauce was absolutely amazing. The servings were generous.
We will return to work out way through the rest of the dishes.

Have been here three times now. Twice for lunch and once for breakfast. Loved everything. Innovative, wide choice, good serving size and great waitstaff. A real gem.
Pedro
The food for the most part is well cooked, though many dishes were a disappointment due to an excess of elements which took away from the main ingredient. In particular oysters (which were incredibly small) with chorizo, tomato & fennel, parmesan, & herb crumb - If it wasn't in a shell you wouldn't know it was an oyster dish! Rabbit cigars & pork belly were delicious & well balanced in terms of flavours. Service was also great.
The Chefs Wife
One thing I love about discovering a town I know little about, like Mandurah, is that I don’t have any preconceived ideas about where I should and shouldn’t dine. I’ve not been brainwashed by a multitude of foodie posts in my social media feeds. Flics Kitchen is just the type of place I would pick for dinner, if I hadn’t already been invited there by the local experts at Mandurah & Peel Tourism Organisation. We arrived early for dinner and we could see that the eatery is a funky morning café by day, which transforms to a buzzing restaurant in the evening.

Absolutely shocking good. Simple ingredients, cooked right. My partner and I had the Charcuterie board, the scallops, and the gnocchi. The gnocchi was quite rich but it had beautiful flavor. The truffle really came through, and the gnocchi themselves were light and fluffy. The scallops were cooked to perfection, caramelized on the outside and buttery in the middle. The accompanying pea purée was vibrant and fresh, and the bacon tied it all together. The charcuterie board had some unique meats on it, but I believe that there should have been more for the price, perhaps some cheeses incorporated as well. Overall, very good experience.
Queen Of Bad Timing
On the weekend of 18-19 March, the City of Mandurah is coming alive. Yes, Mandurah Crab Festival is back again for it’s 19th year running and it’s bigger than ever. With over 120,000 attendees last year, this is officially one of WA’s largest community events. And it definitely lives up to its name. It celebrates, highlights and appreciates beautiful local blue manna crabs.

Just walking past and my two little people were instantly taken with the misting jets. So dinner it was...

So glad we stopped.

The waiter was brilliant, friendly, knowledgeable and spot on with his recommendations. He even managed to convince little woman to have something other than nuggets and chips. The force was strong with him but not strong enough to convince small man.

While the spouse and i waited we had the meat based taster plate. Spot on. We had two dishes recommended by the waiter. Great call, we had the scollops as one dish and the prawns as a second.

The scollops were un-be-lievable. Talk about flavour. Hey-zeus they were good.

If your in Mandurah this place is worth a stop and worth the coin.

Extremely tasty and yummy food. Yes the sizes of the dishes aren't large but it is tapas. Highly recommended. I would definitely eat there again.

Went there on a Saturday lunch, tried 4 dishes all delicious. Exmouth prawns, pork croquettes, buttermilk dressing and smoked tomato was first and I was in for a good start. Second dish - Duck confit, pressed pear, pinenut puré and stilton was a perfect mix between the salty cheese creamy puré and tender duck, yum! Next was Lamb 3 ways, smoked parsnip and truffle... i gotta say this was the stand out dish, I will have this again, lamb was perfect each bite was excellent. Last but not least, dessert, meringue, passionfruit parfait and raspberry sorbet was the perfect finish to a great meal. Waiters were great, attentive and relaxed. Love the atmosphere and decor, Mandurah needed a place like this.
Alwayshungry
It's always refreshing to try somewhere new in Mandurah because it can start to feel a bit "same ol' same ol'" So I was very excited to get in and try Flics Kitchen!

I had a small idea of what to expect after reading the write up in the local paper and decided that brekky on a rainy Sunday morning would be perfect. We managed to get a table for two in the small bustling establishment which was in a cosy corner against the window. It's not a huge restaurant and thus feels a little cramped, especially when making your way to the till to pay but I can imagine in Summer with the bi-fold doors open, the ambience will be lovely.

It's not your standard breakfast menu, which I loved, but still has your usual favourites. We opted for the gingerbread french toast and eggs benedict with coffees and a 'flic-shake' to share. The gingerbread french toast was phenomenal. Thick slices of gingerbread, crispy on the outside and moist on the inside with crispy pancetta and smoked maple syrup. Generous portion, filling and delicious. The eggs benny came with fresh homemade hollandaise (which always has me singing from the hilltops!) and perfectly poached eggs. Coffees were delicious albeit a little slow to make their way to the table. The flic-shake left a little to be desired with no sign of popping candy and 'chocolate treats' translates to a couple of maltesers plonked on top.

Staff were friendly and attentive. A small note, no condiments are readily available (salt, pepper, sugar etc) which was of no concern to me as I don't sugar my coffee and breakfast was well seasoned, however it might be to others.

Price is higher than the average Mandurah breakfast, but you expect to pay a little more for something a little more out of the box.

Looking forward to returning to try the lunch / dinner menu!

What a find! Very impressed with this place. Cool funky vibe, friendly service and yummy food. I had the homemade gnocchi which was full of flavour and perfect for dunking in my side of sourdough and hubby had oysters which were fresh and tasty. Food was quality and worth the little extra $s. Meals aren't huge but you definitely get what you pay for in taste. Definitely coming back again!

Absolutley FANTASTIC food!! Great ambience, tasty cocktails and even better food!! Try the gnocci if you get a chance - you won't regret it!

My partner and I wound up having dinner here on a whim recently and we will be back for sure.

Our service was quick and super friendly. The wait staff are funny and chatty, clearly enjoying themselves.

We ordered a round of tapas olates. Between the two of us we had four plates (my partner was hungrier than me). We couldnt decide on a final plate and took the waitresses suggestion and orderex the pumpkin. I bow down to whoever put mascapone with pumpkin and maple bacon (alwayz a win) but it was hands down the best plate we ordered. The rest was tasty but the pumpkin stood out.

We had room for dessert and coffee. The dessert kenu is small but packs a deliciously sweet punch.

We will be back to trh brunch one weekend.

I went here for dinner last night and here's how it went.

FOOD: The taste was very nice but that was it.

The serving sizes were smaller than most entrees you receive at other restaurants. I ordered Sirloin Steak $28. I received a large plate, with a bite size piece of steak, a small potato ensemble and fancy squiggly sauce and that's it. When I mentioned my concern to the waitress, she replied well most people order a side of chips. Why the hell should I have to. Anyway the chips were ordered and a small bowl came out which cost $9. Utterly ridiculous. I would be totally embarrassed to serve this type of food.

I saw Pork belly and Gnocchi on another table and everything was TINY.

SERVICE: Very lacklustre and slow. Far from friendly and inviting

AMBIANCE: A nice looking restaurant that has gone to some effort. A tick here.

PRICE: Pathetic for what you get.

OVERALL: Never to return, there is absolutely no value for money here.

I would’ve taken a photo of the food but I couldn’t zoom in that close.

RATING: 2

Finally, someone has put an up and coming cafe/restaurant in this space which will take Mandurah dining to the next level it needs! Had breakfast here today and it was a hit; can't wait to try the dinner menu. And thank you for taking out 'that wall'; the space looks so much better now :)
