Regular customer when we visit Mandurah. I've eaten plenty of Thai food over my life and still astounded that these guys deliver such fantastic food every time over many years. Doesn't have the marina views but who cares...the food is brilliant.

While Thai on the Terrace may not have the glorious ambience of its competitor up the road, it has the better food, which is my interest. The menu includes the usual popular curries including yellow, as well as a good variety of Thai stir fried dishes and salads, such as Laab and If you request they will also make the most delicious Papaya salad.
Curries served at Thai on the Terrace have never tasted watered down as I have experienced at another Thai restaurant in Mandurah, there is a consistency and balance here which is most appreciated. As for entrees/appetizers, the curry puffs and money bags are really quite delicious, and the Tom Yum is rather superb. On occasion you will find the fridge by the counter stocked with yummy and interesting Thai desserts hat are supplied to the restaurant, which also has a number of dessert options it makes itself, such as Black Sticky Rice with Mango.
With the $12 lunch specials, the consistently high standard of taste and quality, and pricing, as well as lovely and friendly staff, Thai on the Terrace is in my opinion perhaps the best Thai restaurant in the Peel region. Its certainly by far the best value.
The best Thai food in Australia. The Massaman beef, Green Curry and Spicy Beef Salad are highlights. Friendly, smiling service always and good value for money. The only essential dining experience in Mandurah.
Delicious seafood pad Thai, but pineapple fried rice, and bacon wrapped prawns. This is a small, family run place that is good for friendly, personal service. Not a place to go for fine dining, but a place to go for really good Thai food.
Great variety and great food. Even takeaway. The green curry was amazing. Take away is in a larger container not small in size. Would eat here again

Very surprised by the negative reviews! Not sure if they dined on an off night or expectations are set way too high...
Either way, dined in on a Thursday night. Restaurant was empty which was surprising but pleasant to have it all to ourselves. Restaurant is small but cosy, not flash, but you don't really expect a flash restaurant for authentic Thai food anyway. BYO is another bonus.
Staff are lovely and very accommodating of children, brought out a high chair and let us know the kids chips were still quite hot before serving.
Shared a variety of dishes - satay chicken skewers, fish cakes, seafood tom yum soup, fried wontons, pad thai, thai green curry. Stand out dishes were the tom yum soup and pad thai. I'm so sick of ordering pad thai and getting rice noodles that are all dry and stuck together - not this pad thai. Silky, saucy and delicious!! The tom yum soup packed so much flavour and the seafood was tender. The satay sauce that accompanied the skewers was also full of flavour with just the right amount of heat. Fish cakes were a bit of a let down, quite average and soft, wouldn't order them again. But the other dishes definitely made up for what they lacked.
Won't go anywhere else in Mandurah for pad thai now and cannot wait to order it again!

Great Food at a Great Price.. Decided to bite the bullet and actually eat here (the decor is not good) as I had been told the food was good. Forget the decor- go for their food!. Everything from there is fresh, tasty, clean and excellent value for money. The people behind the counter are lovely to deal with and remember you and what you eat after only one or two visits. 10/10 from me!.
Whem you walk through the door you might think you have made a mistake as the surroundings are nothing special. BUT, the food and service is good! I eat a lot of Thai and this place is pretty reasonable. Outa 10, I give it a 7.

AMAZING!. We went here on a whim when it first opened. Bit skeptical cause of the Decor and what-not.
But the food is absoulety to DIE FOR! They almost shut down but thank god they didn't. There chilli fish dish is the best ever!
Again, good prices for the meals and you get heaps of it. There takeaway is fantastic and we are regulars there for those odd days you get when you can't be bothered cooking.

Best Thai in Perth. I haven't had authentic Thai in Perth without paying a bomb for it and this joint is definately one of the best places in Perth to eat for very close authentic thai food. Very friendly service but its only a small place so i would advise to book. Prices are reasonable too and they do lunch specials. highly recommend this place.

This is our local Thai restaurant and have been eating here at least once a month for years!! It's always beautiful and we love it! It may seem expensive but the serves are huge so left overs for days!! We love the pad Thai :-)
In the land of the blind, the one eyed man is King.. Acceptable food, if you want cheap, basic fare with friendly service. Not necessarily a place to take anyone but close friends/family.
Why?
Customers/clients or anyone one else you wish to impress, ensure you manage their expectations before they arrive at the venue, it is not likely to be awarded "Restaurant Decor of the Year', anytime soon.
The decor is drab, dated and basic, it actually detracts from the food and whole dining experience.
The service although friendly, lacks a little depth.
There is no attempt to explain the dishes (perhaps an assumption that everyone knows Thai cuisine and its subtleties).
There is limited competition in Mandurah for good Thai food, in an acceptable, modern restaurant. Consequently Mandurah, this is as good as it gets.
My suggestion - head to Perth if you aspire to more.
Whilst you continue to accept what you get, things rarely change or improve.

Awesome flavours.. Tried to book in last Saturday night but they were full, so we had to have take away. The restaurant was small and oh so typical for Thai. Everyone in the restaurant seemed to be enjoying themselves and our take away was ready on time for pickup. The food was a little too watery compared to other Thai restaurants but the flavors were awesome! We will go again and this time book early :)

Tasty Thai food, and friendly to vegetarians. We stumbled across this little gem on a recent trip to Mandurah. From its unassuming exterior and an apparently meat-heavy menu, we were not expecting to find the vegetarian dinner we were seeking. However, when we noted that nearly all menu items were available in vegetarian form, with tofu replacing meat, we ventured inside. We were happy that we did.
Spring rolls were crisp and appetite-inspiring. A ginger-and-mushroom flavoured vegetable stir-fry was tasty (and must have had at least as much garlic in it as ginger or mushrooms). But our favourite was the red curry, which really distinguished itself from red curries elsewhere. A bit less thick with coconut and less fiery with chilli than I expected, the flavour was boosted with a complex blend of other herbaceous and spicy flavours. No doubt much of the magic was attributable to the homemade red curry paste, though the basil and kaffir lime leaves floating in the curry were further testament to the chef's emphasis on fresh ingredients.
If you need fancy tablecloths, swanky interior design and a wine list, look elsewhere. But if, like me, you are a fan of unpretentious BYO restaurants with great food, please do pay this place a visit.
