Amazing jap food love their food there ! Highly recommend
Amazing place! the best sushi in Manly, highly recommended!
Highly recommend, best Japanese restaurant in Manly
This is one of the few authentic Japanese Restaurant around town. Food is prepared with care and taste amazing!
No wonder they are always packed.
Met the owner / head chef Kaz while we are there. He's a real foodie and a great guy.
Get yourself there. You won't be disappointed!
Great food, very nice people, very helpful waiters and waitresses :)
Best Japanese on the northern beaches by far!
Awesome Sashimi and Sushi. Really Fresh food. Quick Friendly Service. Will most definitely be back
Best food and lovely staff. drove past and stopped without a reservation. Highly recommended. Recommended to neighbours and they loved it too.
Amazing Food! Nice People around, good Service!!!!
Best Sushi in Sydney. Asahi on tap. Heaven.
Ordered some takeaway bento boxes from here last night and they were really good! All tasted very fresh and great flavour. I ordered the bento box w teriyaki salmon and tuna sushi. Also comes with salmon sashimi, rice, salad and miso soup. So good!
Love this little neighbourhood Japanese sushi/izakaya on Pittwater Road. The staff are really friendly and charming which certainly adds to the ambience of this place. Ordered prawn gyoza, edamame, in/out rolls - vegetarian, prawn and cooked tuna. All amazingly fresh, generous portions and very good value. Also shared a prawn and squid kakiage which looked like a birds nest! Crunchy! A great place for takeaway too but be sure to order ahead as it may take a few minutes to prepare!
What a find. A little up the road from the Manly corso hustle and bustle is the most vast and delicious fresh Japanese menu. The bento boxes even cater for vegetarians and everything tastes so fresh. We took away fro a floor picnic on a Sunday, but looking forward to dining in.
Being a sushi lover, i can be quite fussy with this type of food. Sushi quality and menu variety is remarkable. Only negatives would be the price and that it doesn't offer BYO beer.
Very good and fresh food. Too busy though, so better make the reservation. .
Have been to Waka several times and have enjoyed each visit! All the dishes are good with generous portions. Make sure you book as they are usually busy.
AMAZE!. Best Japanese I have had in a while!
Staff where lovely food was delicious and value for money. Highly recommend. Must book ahead. Enjoy!
Above average Japanese. Been here a few times. Food is very nice and service friendly but its just way too loud. You have to shout across the table to be heard. Get some carpet and tablecloths and hang some sound absorbers on the walls. Aside from the noise there's a lot of average Japanese restaurants these days but Waka is a cut above.

Six stars - the food is delicious and really fresh. The service is very fast and friendly. We always have a wonderful time and travel an hour by car for our favourite Japanese restaurant. Thank you to the beautiful staff for making our son's belated birthday dinner special with a little surprise. Can't wait 'til our next visit :-)
Best Japanese that I’ve had in Australia. After living in Japan for many years I had missed the true authentic Japanese food experience. Until now, I hadn’t found anywhere. Waka was so tasty and fresh and such a reminder of my time in Japan. Thanks Waka for making date night with the hubby a treat!!!
Does not disappoint. Amazing Japanese cuisine. If you like to go out, save Waka for a special occasion and you will not regret it. The customer service is the gold standard. My favourite dishes include the wagyu steak, gyoza and some of the rolls.
Exceptional Japanese dishes in a small but friendly restaurant. Top notch nosh.
Fantastic price to flavour ratio, really loved the wagu beef udon, and the pork gyōza entree was equally delicious. $8 for an Asahi is relatively middle of the road, but reasonable considering the vibe of the place.
We just walked in, but apparently they prefer bookings, so worth keeping in mind.
Waka is an authentic Japanese diner, Best black cod and mochi dessert in Sydney. Not a big restaurant, so book ahead to ensure you got seats.
Some of the freshest most fantastic Japanese food I’ve ever had! You know it’s good when it’s so easy to eat a LOT 😬👌
Have wanted to go this place for ever & wow, was not disappointed! Just awesome, sophisticated but so authentic in variety of dishes & the flavours. We were in a party of 4 and we tried several dishes, my recommendation is ignore the menus & pick dishes off the wall, you won’t be disappointed. Definitely do some gyoza, try any of the scallop dishes & there’s a great spinach salad. Loved the fact that they had black sesame seed ice-cream, not many Japanese restaurants do, so for that alone I give them 5stars rather than 4.5. Loved it.
