This place is quite busy in the afternoon so ordered some fish and chips to eat and sit by the beach. Tried the crumbed snapper and was cooked perfectly. The chips were okay, but not to my preference. It was better than the traditional British style, where it's more soft and you relied on the salt and vinegar, but still wasn't crispy enough. Overall enjoyed it and would come back again!

We’ve had our fair share of F&C this summer and this place is bursting with people waiting. No idea why because it was only just ok. We had better fish and chips at a pub on the other side on the wharf/marina area……and on Monday’s it came with a free pint.

Unfortunately my fish and chips wasn't a winner. I got the grilled barramundi and it was slightly overcooked. But the biggest issue was the chips - as someone else mentioned, they were hard and chalky. I love chunky chips and they weren't crispy and tasted really bland. It was also a long wait, although it was the weekend and there was a line of people waiting.

Very nice fish and chips (no photoes to prevent the fish grabbing seagulls) - the fish expecially is fresh and full bodied. Lotsa fresh seafood as well. Note the sign in yellow.

The people working here were nice, but I actually had to throw away the food. That’s how bad it was. I had it straight from the kitchen, so it didn’t go bad while waiting or anything. By far the worst food I had in Australia.

After all these years this place is still one of my favourites 😍 Great quality fish and chips with huge portions, at very very reasonable prices. The chips aren't greasy whatsoever like some other places and are very fluffy and thick. The salmon is always cooked to perfection and tastes very fresh. Can't wait to come back.

Fish was just ok… However with a $300 order of fish and chips i would have expected bigger portions of fish.. and some extra salt provided. Few staff members need to work on their people skills also..

After 5 weeks largely spent on the coastlines of every area of Australia (save Queensland) and a good many seafood platters or fish ‘n’ chips, I think we can safely rate Manly Fish Café as serving the best of those fried fish/seafood meals. Absolutely delicious seafood platter of beer-buttered fish and scallops along with crumbed prawns and squid. The obligatory and ubiquitous chips were crispy, not soggy. The side salad was unusual in its ingredients but also scrumptious. Top it off with attentive, friendly staff and a comfortable setting near the beach...well, don’t miss this place if you’re in Manly.

Excellent food. Well worth a visit. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

First time at the cafe with hubby good atmosphere food was amazing - maybe the staff can understand English abit better and not spill water in your handbag 👜 Rustic decor but fun Other than that definately go there again great flathead best I have had for a long time

I came into this lovely cafe with my family and extended family today. Fabulous atmosphere. Very nice and pleasant waitress’. Food was very nicely presented. Super fresh and delicious. I would definitely recommend it to others. A great addition to our New Years Eve visit to Sydney ��

We've been going to Manly Fish Cafe for years and still love it. Congratulations on your award. Joe at the fish shop has been an icon. Glad to see Far West Children's Home acknowledge him.

I went there for lunch with my brother and his wife. This was a lunch after my brother and I met for the first time the day before. Great service, food was sensational and very much enjoyed. Would not hesitate to recommend this establishment.

Service was unprofessional.... when describing the one special on offer ... Baby Barramundi.. The wooded Chardonnay we ordered was incorrect and when we drew this to the waiter's attention another staff member arrived with the correct bottle and challenged us. He then opened the bottle and dripped wine on the table! Two of us ordered the Scallop Pie and were very disappointed and didn't finish it. It looked like a deflated omelette and the white aged cheddar sauce was so heavily laced with garlic that the subtle flavour of scallop was completely lost. Sadly, the scallops had been chopped into cubes, no coral present at all and were tough. The only saving grace was the salad that accompanied it which was fresh and interesting. Our companions' Blue eyed Trevalla was good. To top off an unsatisfactory evening celebrating a birthday and a 30th wedding anniversary the bill arrived and we'd been overcharged $20 on 'that' bottle of wine. $56 ... not $36!! Overall, I think you could do a lot better for you $186 for 4 person fish dinner in Manly.
