Spectacular experience! I left a note on our QR table order asking if they had a candle for the dessert as it was my partners birthday. They brought out a delicious cocktail on the house with a sparkler wrapped around the stem. It was really special, great surprise!

Was a bit disappointed with our experience really. The restaurant had a terrible smell of vomit, even after we moved to a different table. Enjoyed the truffle fries but the 4 cheese pizza had an excessive amount of chilli on. Was shocked they refused to take the entertainment book voucher, so don’t go here thinking you can use it.

The waitresses were super friendly, no complaint there, however, the food itself wasn’t great, not very refined, too oily, salty and cheesy. Wouldn’t recommend the Arancini balls or marinara pasta. And for some reason it took very long to arrive eventhough it wasn’t busy.

Quality of food is irrelevant when you wait half an hour for a can of beer. Went to in situ on a Saturday night for an anniversary and was incredibly disappointed with the table service. We came in and ordered straight away our drinks and food. Asked about our drinks after 20 minutes and weren’t told anything until our food came out 15 minutes after that. Asked about drinks again and the waitstaff finally said he would ask the bar. All this time we had not once been offered water, given cutlery or napkins or even checked in on. When our CAN OF BEER and one cocktail finally came we were halfway through our dinner and we’re merely offered a chuckle of an apology. Incredibly disappointed and would not recommend.

Update: I gave it another go on a Saturday. This time buzzing. Atmosphere still not the same though. Also waited 45 mins for each drink. Maybe the staff shortage has also effected you. The tables inside in the back are very dark. A candle would be nice :) The Kale truffle pizza is good!

Very disappointed, had a large group booked for dinner, was seated and given menus and then as we went to order dinner half an hour later and the waiter informed us the pizza oven was broken. Considering so much has been taken off the menu that left us with very little option to feed 10 people. Not the same as what it use to be, which is super upsetting.

Food and cocktails were nice however service from both wait staff and bar staff was terrible. Waited 10 minutes at the bar before anyone even acknowledged me. Attitude of all staff was rude and arrogant. I understand it was very busy, however politeness and acknowledgement goes a long way. More people joined my group and we ended up leaving and finding somewhere with better service. Extremely disappointed.

I was in the other night with a few of my girlfriends, and I could not believe how rude the staff was. We were by no means too drunk or out of control and the bouncers there were treating us like we were criminals. I have never been somewhere where I was treated so poorly. This used to be my regular spot to go, and now I don't think I will go back.

I ate in your restaurant on Saturday evening and was a very disappointing experience. I have been to your restaurant many a times and have never had any problems. Weight staff were rude and very unhelpful and our meals did not all come together. The time between the first meal coming out and the last was at least 30 minutes and there was only 3 meals. No one apologised in fact they made us feel uncomfortable about asking for our food.

So inconsistent in service. I waited 10 minutes at the bar while watching someone make me one espresso martini with sick lack of care. Half of the drink was poured over the bar and not in the glass. His specks were totally off and they use a pre batch. I wouldn’t mind waiting 10 minutes if it was worth it but u fortunately this was just not. The venue is very tired and needs a a makeover.

I love it here during happy hour! It cut my bill in half which I can’t complain about... For the bruschetta burrata however - it was much to sweet. The balsamic they use overtakes the flavour of the meal and would definitely benefit from a more sour rather than sweet tasting balsamic. Other than that, the drinks were great, pricing was great and the service I received was good :)

OMG After eating eggs Benedict for the last 20 years i have just had the best by a mile. Eggs poached to perfection spinach salted just enough with lashing of freshly made hollandaise. So buttery . Can't wait to get back here and try other dishes on the menu.

Went to In Situ for dinner on a Tuesday night and found all sorts of discounts and specials in place. For a start they have happy hour from 4pm-7pm everyday which includes $10 cocktails, 1/2 priced pizza and $10 tapas on Tuesday and Thursday! Chose 2 pizzas (usually $22); a meat lovers and a goat's cheese and honey that were pretty interesting and tasty with a thin crust. Also ordered a spicy calamari from the tapas menu, but rather than spicy..... just tasted like the rub off Barbecue Shapes. Anyhow, liked the atmosphere and was having a fun time with my half priced house Sauv Blanc for $5 which was actually pretty good when something happened I have never seen before. Two staff members came and sat a few tables away with their boxes of Dominos pizzas and garlic bread and ate this in front of us. Were they on a meal deal? Were their pizzas better than ours? Still gobsmacked!

Worst experience in Manly. <br/>This place took 40 minutes for our food to come out. <br/>I asked for no onion in my omlette and it came out with onion. It also came out topped with mint which wasn't on the menu and was missing the quinoa!<br/>Strawberry milkshake was tasteless and had rotten strawberries in it and cutlery was dirty!<br/>Staff were friendly but many people were asking where their food was without being given prior warning about the waiting time. <br/>Also heard another couple complain that they had been charged extra on their bill so obviously waiters weren't paying attention to where they were entering orders. <br/>Only positive thing is that it's a 2 minute walk from the beach. <br/>Won't come back...

Favourites was the apple crumble and a similar version to a lychee martini! <br/><br/>Even though it was packed staff were quick to spit out the orders. <br/><br/>Place is a bit tiny but alas it add's to the vibe. <br/><br/>They have live music from 7pm which is nice. Also have half price food on pizza's during the happy hour! Tried the Margarita and the double brie both tasty!

At In Situ you will find Great pizza and nice cocktails. But make sure you book if you are coming anytime past 5pm, this place gets busy! The small terrace out the back is a great place to enjoy a meal and a few cocktails. I went on Sunday and had made a booking for 5:30 as they have a great special ( half price pizza and $10 cocktails) the pizza was nice and fresh, my favourite was the seafood pizza. We didn't have a problem with the service, Gabriel was our waiter and he always made sure that we had enough food and drinks to keep us happy. While the food is nice the real reason we came to In Situ was for the cocktails. The apple crumble is amazing and everyone must try it. I was disappointed that the $10 cocktail range only had 5 options and that they constantly ran out of cocktail glasses which was kind of a buzz kill when your cocktails arrive in water glasses. This place is great for groups and having a drink here is a must.

Well ... where to start really. On a positive note the wait staff were superb, however that doesn't excuse some really basic mistakes. I went with some friends after finishing a long trek & we ordered 4 mojitos. They bloody tasted dreadful - no lime & not a lot of barcardi or palm sugar. If it's s cocktail I usually drink it but these were so bad we had to send them back. A bit more lime & they were still bloody horrible so we just gave up & cancelled them. Basic mistakes kept coming - the wrong wine. Chicken in a vegetarian salad. Warm prawns that should've been in a chilled bucket. Haloumi so salty it became inedible. Roasted sweet potato that looked like it'd been cooked a week ago. Virtually no dressing, but that was a relief as it was pretty tasteless. We spent $275 & despite having been there before I'm not going back. The desserts were pretty tasty though & the wine pretty good (when we got the right bottle)

Best Small Bars
A long bar, rear courtyard and street-side seating out front makes In Situ a great all-rounder. It can seem quite subdued earlier in the week outside of summer, but come the weekend or a warm night and the place is cranking.

Miss Marley's , according to it's website is a "unique take on the small bar concept where 1950's style vintage glam meets the passion of Central and South America." I would have to mostly agree with that description. The silver wallpaper with plants and butterflies on it gives it a funky feel, furthered by the mood lighting. Quite a different vibe to Safety Wolf, which was more Surry Hills hole in the wall bar style. The menu is divided into Bar Bites, Small Plates, Share Plates, Signature Serves and After Dinner. Because as we arrived without a booking, we're told that we have to be out in under an hour. We randomly point at cocktails, without properly looking at them and order from the share plate and signature serves menu as quick as e possibly can. I'll have to come back another day to properly peruse the menu. I ordered the Horse Shoe Bramble - Herradura blanco smashed with fresh lime & agave water. Service is not overly great and we waited quite some time for meals which didn't all come out together . Not great value for money . Burnt Fritters & Surly Service!<br/>We went to In Situ for brunch this morning and ordered the Corn Fritters and Eggs Benedict. The fritters were as flat as crepes, burnt to black and had no flavour. The english muffin the eggs were served on wasn't toasted. Thought about complaining but couldn't get a waiters attention then witnessed what happens if you do... a lady at the table next door dared to send her barely toasted 'toast' back only to have the waitress bring back the plate and confront the lady with "what do you call this if it's not toast?" Great attitude!! Won't be eating here again and definitely wouldn't recommend it!

Great vibe but the cocktails got worse at the night went on. Started off with great cocktails, nice food (although came out before any drinks!!) and service was good (nice people). However as the night went on and the bar got busier the barmen clearly couldn't handle the pressure and the drinks got worse. The mojitos ended up being rum and tonic by the end of the night, we took them back twice. At the start of the night they were making fabulous cocktails but come on barmen, don't rush them out!! People are happy to wait for a good drink. Must add that the live music was awesome for Saturday night, had the whole bar dancing.

What a bunch of shinny shoe BS. Every couple of years Ii make the same mistake a and give In Situ another ago. In all honestly it's been over ten years since I have had decent service. Over prices almost staggeringly so, terrible service, and if your fringe isn't at least 6 inches longer then the rest of your hair and flopped to the left don't expect to be noticed by the bar staff. Won't be going back, wouldn't want to be mistaken for a wanker. Have you been to the Styne recently?

Worst value. Not coming back.. I met some friends here for brunch this morning. I hesitated to order the $18 berry pancakes, but went ahead anyway, reasoning that they would be absolutely brilliant with that sort of price tag. When they arrived, there were just two small, slightly burnt pancakes with some berries and a splash of maple syrup. $18? My annoyance was compounded when one of my friends who came late ordered the same thing and got three pancakes... petty, I know, but by this point I was feeling grumpy and ripped off. Not coming back.

Good tapas Thursday night happy hour great value. Rump, scallop and prawn dish delicious fresh and flavoursome, good presentation, we will be back. We were warm in the courtyard and enjoyed a funky singer. Prompt and friendly service, overall a great dinning experience.

It was the signature apple crumble martini that originally got my loyalty but in recent years the service has become a little too 'comfortable'... Great little hub on a friday evening if you can grab a table nice and early but as soon as it fills up, it's a lost cause! Last time I was there I got my cocktail in a wine glass as they 'ran out' of martini glasses which may seem patandic but when your paying $16 for a cocktail I expect the best! Also with all the other little bars bringing in some competition, in situ really needs to pick up it's game to maintain it's regular clientele!

Nice vibe but disappointing breakfast. Had the vege breakfast and the poached eggs were overcooked. Corn fritters were more flour than corn and there was hardly any feta an what was there was tasteless. Probably better for drinks than food.

Great little beach cocktail and snack bar. Cool and funky with a good clientelle - nice decor and live dj and music make it a must visit
