Review El Camino Cantina - Manly

Good food, and great view. Feel good vibes and felt very lively. Only improvement would be the me&u app that needs to be revisited as it prompts every few seconds that do u still ordering and if it is closed accidentally then have to start all over again, bit uncomfortable specially when in large group. But apart from that enjoyed the food would definitely visit again.

Bad. There is no taste in the food. It's overpriced for the tiny portion they offer. Stay away from this not Mexican restaurants. Oh only go there for margaritas 2 stars for that. And the view

Only went for happy hour but nice deals, drinks, water views, and chips and salsa bar. Staff was also super friendly and gave us other great recommendations in Sydney.

Not the best food but great value. Have gone here on several occasions to take advantage of their great deals. For 20 cent wings and drinks or for cheap tacos this is a great spot. The prices are all affordable and the portion sizes are ample. The food is never the best, but for the prices it's difficult for me to complain. the one complaint I do have is with the service app which I have found inconvenient and annoying. I much prefer table service but again, for the prices listed it's understandable for them to cut corners. All in all this is a spot I am likely to go back to, the decor is dated and the food isn't great but if you appreciate a bargain or want a cheap night out you'll leave happy.

My evening was enjoyable so much more due to our fabulous waitress, Sarah. She was helpful, responsive to my dietary requirements, and followed up when a drink order went missing. Her great sense of humour had us in stitches and we enjoyed her company so much. Thank you Sarah!

Pretty disappointed! Booked a table for a 2pm late lunch and drinks. The ordering process is annoying and felt completely impersonal. Would much prefer a menu and to have someone take an order - took 35mins from when we ordered to when our drinks arrived. We were literally one of 4 tables that were occupied. The menu is extremely limited to anyone with diet limitations which is unusual for a Mexican restaurant. The service was rude. Not everything we ordered was brought out to the table and had to be followed up.. food tasted good and the views are great but when you’re paying the prices you’re paying you expect good customer service at very least

we had an absolute fantastic waiter named Sarah. honestly she was a 10/10. today was my 18th birthday and she made everything ten times better. she always made sure that we had drinks and food on the table. went above and beyond to ensure that i had the best birthday. i would honestly like to thank her personally for doing this for me:))) <3

Our last minute decision for Taco Tuesday turned into a lovely evening of delicious food and excellent service; particularly from Sarah. She was super helpful (esp with the online ordering process!), polite and professional. Thanks for helping make our dining experience a relaxing and enjoyable one.

Really enjoyed the food and service here. The vege nachos were delicious - however they should come with the side of beans and rice like the meat nachos does. The fish tacos were great also. The large margaritas were also a hit and the complimentary Mexican hats were also a fun touch. Would recommend.

Our group ordered 3 naked burrito bowls and all 3 arrived missing different ingredients. Rather than just bringing out the missing ingredients, they took the food away mid meal. Service and food seems inconsistent. Frozen margaritas were good though.

We ordered via Deliveroo. The food was average but the biggest issue was that almost 50% of the order was missing. Hard to know who to blame (El Camino or Deliveroo), but not impressed...

Rude staff no one smiled or ignored us when we waved to order , horrible food wrap with two pieces of chicken.. prices are over priced only good thing is the view so not worth

Needs a lot of improvement. The food lacked flavour and needed love. The bar was busy and only one person serving. Worst Mexican we’ve been to. Really disappointed.

Tried their cheeseburger taco and vege taco at Taste of Manly. Generous serving of minced meat for the cheeseburger taco but unfortunately not browned we'll probably due to the mass coking technique, left a bit of a furry taste in my mouth. But I will cut them some slack with cooking in tiny portable stoves in the streets.

Went to el Camino for drinks and Daniela looked after us .. 10/10 service .. I’ll be back many times more ! The best place to eat and drink if you’re in manly with a group or for any events

Daniela provided amazing service and was super hospitable attending to all our needs in such a timely manner. Definitely coming back here many more times!
This place is perfect for a casual group outing (individuals order food and drinks at the bar) and the decor is fantastic! A bright and beautiful rainbow of everything Mexican. I had a selection of tacos and I'd say the food wasn't anything amazing but it isn't bad either, it's just average. It has a gorgeous view over Manly Wharf bar to the water and giant sweet and tangy margaritas.

We had a group booking here and had the best night out. Great service and the variety of food was fantastic. Very reasonable pricing. Everyone in our group ordered something different, however the lime steak fajitas was the pick for me. Wow!!!! The only criticism I have is that the alcohol is on the pricey side but I guess that's were they make their money as the food is great value for money. I'm looking forward to returning again.

Had an amazing experience here with my colleagues for friday lunch.
We manage to get a table outside and the view is very good.

The complimentary corn chips are very nice and the staff is very helpful accomodating for the 9 of us.
We've got 3 large Fajitas with prawns sides. The fajitas were huge and the beef brisket was the best cut. Smokey and juicy, almost tasted like pork ribs :p
The tortillas are soft and held up very well to the juicy meats.
Guacamole is very delicious, little tangy and chunky.

I didn't drink but the guys look happy with theirs.
Staff still need to get used to the venue but as far as a new place goes, it's a pretty decent bar with a big menu.

‘El Don’t-Camino’
Seriously, what a joke. I would give negative stars if I could. My husband and I - Manly locals, lovers of both tequila and Mexican - were excited to visit on a Saturday for lunch.
We decided on the classic Margaritas on the rocks to start after being served complimentary corn chips that looked like they’d been in a spin dryer. After the drinks arrived and a few tastes later, we both questioned each other as to the amount of tequila (if any) added. We decided it was a pre-mix, stopped drinking these and ordered different cocktails ($22 and $19), the jalapeño poppers and ceviche for entree. The poppers and cocktails are came out with only a sliver of jalapeño inside and again we could not taste any alcohol in the cocktails. I called over the waitress and asked if we could please send the drinks back and have them removed from the bill as they did not appear to be alcoholic, and neither did the margaritas previously. She was polite and spoke to the bartender who said he would make us ‘better ones’. We wanted to give them a chance, yet the ‘better ones’ although slightly nicer still did not seem to contain alcohol. We also received the explanation from the bartender (who was very nice) that the cordial they use is very sweet and masks the tequila. Don’t use it then. The waitress also stated the margaritas are ‘very strong’. Well I finished 3/4 of mine, plus the cocktail and wish I had a portable breathalyser on me to prove I was 100% sober when I left.
Many of the staff appear lost and confused, it is quite comical.
I wish we had of walked out without paying the $90 for cocktails minus the alcohol and and jalapeño poppers minus the jalapeño as in my opinion this place is criminal and just a big tourist trap. I’m glad we at least checked the bill after being charged for the ceviche we ordered that didn’t show.
Avoid. You’ll get a better meal and margarita at Guzman Y Gomez a few metres away for a quarter of the price.
