Review Fiasco Italian - Manly

Great sauce on my pasta but I don’t think the pasta is made in house which is a little disappointing. My partner has the chicken and mushroom risotto which he enjoyed. Good service, but some of the waitresses were dressed inappropriately. Would benefit from getting some fresh bread with meal for the price paid. Overall a pretty good experience

Food is fantastic with a great atmosphere. I ordered the king prawn pasta with spaghetti. First mouth full was amazing. I ate a bite of a prawn and was memorized by how creamy and yummy it was. Third bite of spaghetti pulled a long black thick strand of hair out of my mouth. I gagged and felt like throwing up. Needless to say if you want fantastic, amazing, delicious, out of this world food with a bit of feces thrown in for luck then you'll love this place!!

Went to Manly today to spend a nice time with my friend, while we were walking around, the Fiasco restaurant looked good, so we decided to have lunch there. I ordered Fisherman's basket when the lady brought the plate over, soon I found a long hair on the food, so I asked to the lady what's this? She replied: oh it's from the kitchen and took the hair off the plate and asked me what do you want? I said, Change it. She took the plate and I had a gut feeling that they only changed the actual plate not the food on the plate, because it wasn't hot as it should be if it was just cooked. Never will go again, very disappointing service.

If you like authentic Italian food don't go here. Two examples: 1) The first rule of cooking pasta is to cook it al dente. My pasta was overcooked. Seems a shame to go to the trouble of making home-made pasta everyday only to over-cook it. 2) Any good Italian restaurant will offer bread with the meal. Not here. I had to ask for it. When I did I was told it would be an additional charge of $4 per slice. $4 per slice! The owner and chef is Indian. I'm sure he's a good cook in his native land, but in my view he's in over his head trying to run an Italian restaurant. Too many other good choices for Italian in Manly. Best to go somewhere that understands authentic Italian cuisine.

The waitresses were fantastic I would give 5 stars if it was just for them. The sourdough bread was stale not cooked as in toasted or grilled but at least the bottled olive oil came fresh from the bottle . The Sydney rock oysters tasted one week old and the salad in the middle of the oysters seemed to be off including the cherry tomatoes but at least the single slice of lemon tasted like lemon. The pineapple juice was bitter like nearly expired Aldi juice. Coming to the mains I ordered the salad and my boyfriend ordered steak w/potato mash of which he ordered his steak blue but rare would be acceptable if the chef could not do blue. I clearly heard my boyfriend telling the waitress his desire for his steak to be blue of which she wrote of down and repeated order to us very clearly. The first steak comes out, it’s medium rare slightly burnt. The waitress gladly had it replaced but the chef decided to served my boyfriend a steak cooked medium this time. Now I see the disappointment in my boyfriends eyes who than asks to talk to the chef in personal. However the chef decides to replace it with a third plate which is rare (f”&?’^%# hooray) but he wanted the chef personal attention. I took a breather outside for 30 seconds to try to remain calm and as I returned, I noticed the chef screaming at the waitress telling her its her fault when clearly he was the one who screwed it all up. I personally lost my appetite after his demonstration of male testosterone display behind the scene. We decided not to continue our dining experience, pay the bill and leave. Yet at this moment the chef appeared outside the kitchen of which he could not stop apologising, I actually began to wonder if sorry is his only word he could say. Well I am sorry we decided to dine at the above mentioned establishment. I am sorry that chef Anil if that’s his name ruin our valentines dinner as well as our 10 year anniversary. I am really feeling sorry for how the so called chef treats his staff. And to top this review off, I am writing this from another restaurant in circular quay where the experience is much better Thank you for demonstrating cost cutting. Good to see that they are chef who would risk everything Including food safety and the customers health to save all the money they can

Terrific fresh food. Been a few times now and always tastes great. Staff are wonderful and work hard. Put this on your list of a restaurant to visit. Great place for kids. Simone The Happy Body Pain Clinic Manly

I thought the staff were lovely and the food presentation was great. Unfortunately the food service was really slow and the boys' steaks weren't to order. I'd definitely give it a second visit though.

What a disaster this place was. We wanted a nice place for lunch and this place looked the goods. I ordered a mushroom starter which after 20mins of waiting the staff advised they had no mushrooms. Instead I ordered another starter... what a mistake. The food was bland and the staff had no idea what was going on. Don't make the same mistake as us! Stay away!

We really wanted fish and chips but didnt to dip our sneakers into the sandy beach, plus manly was overly crowded on easter sunday. We tossed betwee fiasco, and two other fish and chips takeaway joints. Eventually we settled for fiasco's fishermen's basket and dined in.

For $25 it wasnt too bad! our waitress was super friendly and food arrived promptly. The calamari, prawns and fish were great (there were 2 of each) in fact the prawns were big and juicy, good portion size (shared between 2), however the chips was a bit of a let down, most were not cripsy, darn it!

The dining experience was fine until i found a small piece of hair(??) sticking out of my calamari batter :( oh boy!

Stopped off at Fiasco Italian for lunch while at Manly for the day. Our waitress wasn't very friendly. The food isn't bad but the portions are quite small and oily.

"What a Fiasco". Spaghetti Bolognese entree did not taste fresh or homemade as claimed. Special entree of Sizzling Mushrooms came with one slice of bread and when I requested a second piece it was supplied only to find I was charged $2 for this extra slice!! Taste of dish bland. A disappointing meal overall and not value for the prices charged.

Fiasco is only new to manly but I've already been there 3 times and really love the food and the atmosphere.
They offer heaps of gluten free options including great gluten free pizza - which is a big plus for me having Coeliacs disease! Everyone I've gone with have raved about the homemade pasta and pizza and agree that this is a restaurant worth coming back to.
Plus, even though they're not byo the wine list is really affordable and they've turned it into a bit of an experience because they offer so many different Italian wines!
All in all, the waiters have been really friendly and helpful each time, the good is great (p.s the panna cotta is a must-try!), and the atmosphere is wonderful.
I'll definitely be back!
