Review Barefoot Coffee Traders - Manly

Steven McDonald
Quite possibly the best bacon and egg roll I have ever had. 14 and 18 year old with my wife and I for breakfast, 18 year old went back for seconds on the waffle. Great atmosphere, lovely friendly staff.

Great little coffee shop which opens early! Love the flat white and grabbed one on my way to the ferry almost every morning whilst in Manly. Tom is super nice and always up for a little chat if it’s not busy. Highly recommend!

Absolutely delicious coffee and freshly-made food. You can tell the owners really care about quality and service here. Take away is worth it if you can't grab a seat at busy times.

Stopped by for a takeaway coffee on a trip around manly. Looked like a popular cafe and had heard good reviews but sadly flat white was disappointing. Could taste the milk but not the coffee.

As always THE BEST COFFEE in Sydney. Tom is always happy, nice and friendly The coffee and service are a plus!!! Strongly recommend it!

Had waffle and flat white. Yumm! Perfect combination to spend a nice rainy evening. Cozy hidden gem.

pretty good coffee, better than other manly cafes. unfortunately the second time I went, waited over 20 minutes for my coffee before it turned out they'd forgotten the order, however they were quick to rectify the situation. the cafe is quite small with limited seating, so it can be tricky to sit in.

Good coffee (Marvell St Coffee Roasters). First time visiting this shop. Clean decor and a fair amount of seating despite the small shop layout. Customer service was reasonable, but I've been to friendlier cafes. Will give it another go when I'm in the area.

A nice little coffee shop tucked away from the main area of Manly. They serve Marvell St coffee which is quite good and the barista was friendly too.

Best coffee place in Manly by far. Amazing staff that are friendly and personable, amazing homemade food and great coffee! The waffles are to die for and fresh not packaged and stale and they use real chocolate.

Barefoot Coffee Traders is a corner coffee bar which serves some very decent hot chocolate. My mate and I stopped over the coffee bar for some refreshments before heading to the beach last weekend. The hot chocolate was thick, smooth but not overpoweringly sweet. Worth a go!

Great coffee without a doubt. Their coffee selection is limited with the availability of one size only and the lack of syrups etc. but that doesn't really bother me as long as there is a non-lactose option (which they do!) meaning they can make me a standard flat white.

There's no kitchen out back but you can order waffles which are a standout!!

Best coffee so far, aromatic and smooth coffee. There's always some sort of line in there. friendly and swift service. Our standard spot when we do an office coffee run.

This is one of my very favorite places in Sydney. The coffee is insanely good and every pastry is delicious. The best thing on the menu is what they're known for, the waffles. Get them covered in chocolate with some ice cream and you will not regret it. This little coffee shop in Manly is a must go to!!

Best hot choccys in manly. I dont drink coffee (weird I know) but apparently it has the best in manly. The waffles are delish but would love a scoop of ice cream. Service always very friendly.

Every Manly local knows these guys know how to make good coffee. A limited food menu, but if feeling indulgent one must try their waffles. Sweet tooth? Try a mocha or their famous hot chocolate made with real chocolate.

I had a bacon & egg roll and was very impressed by it. The coffee (I had a mocha first and a cappuccino second) was pretty good too, but hardly the 'best in Sydney' as some have claimed.

If you can get the large table which we did, then the atmosphere is very good. Otherwise it's cramped - you may have to stand outside or simply do takeaway.

Overall a great experience.

My fav place in Manly doesnt have a huge selection but all look good The best mocha in Sydney-and i have tried many cafes!!! The location is great can get crowded at times

Their mocha is rich in taste and balanced.. It surely tastes better as you inhale the strong aroma of coffee and yet also taste the chocolate richness..

Used to be great, but turnover in baristas has resulted in a drop in the quality of their coffee. I was a regular, but one too many burnt coffees has left me going elsewhere. Same goes for the original barefoot on whistler - I initially started walking past the Wentworth street barefoot to go to the other, and you can get lucky, but 9/10 coffees have been below average in recent months.

Second time in one week, but then again I absolutely love their coffee and I could kill for their mocha. They use real chocolate in the mocha, it is milk chocolate so it is on the sweet side but it works really well with the coffee they use. The same chocolate is used for their hot chocolate and on top of their gorgeous waffles. It’s good I don’t live in Manly and that I need to cross the bridge to get there otherwise it would become a daily addiction!

Best cap plus cool place. Real find they serve honest to god best caouccino and it's very cool decor location

Diana. Great coffee, shame about the barista -a little impersonal, but hey it's all about the coffee after all.

If you put yourself up as a place that solely specialises in coffee then you should make sure you do what little you do to perfection. This is certainly not the case with this cafe. Be warned! This coffee is very average at best. We finally managed to find this hole in the wall to be greeted by staff who were less than friendly but more disappointing was the cold bland coffee that presented. Have spent years drinking coffee and have lately opted for decaf since I still enjoy the flavour. Needless to say decaf was not on the menu.
Larsinator
Pretentious, coffee not that great, has organic fair trade which is good, no decaf. Coffee is flat no depth of flavor and not hot enough. If you want the scene by all means go there but there are better coffee places closer to the beach.

Barefoot has to be the best coffee in town, even my Melbornian cousin was impressed. Friendly service, great couches and Zumbo next door -what more could you ask?!

The attitude and poor coffee making skills make this place a waste of time. Staff texting and not knowing anything about their products is poor form.

Great Coffee Place. One of the best coffee places I've had the good fortune to stumble upon. Fast, friendly service. Good prices and decor and furniture is excellent. 100% would go back.

This cafe has the same great coffee, baristas and waffles as barefoot and is the only place to go for great coffee in manly. It's size makes it a better place to catch up with others but be prepared to sit uncomfortably as there is limited comfy couches. There is a wall missing too so be aware it gets cold in winter and wet on rainy days. But there is no better place for coffee.

Best Flat White / Espresso in Manly. Recently moved to Manly I've spent last 6 months searching Manly for the best Coffee Shop. Search is over, the Flat White at Barefoot Coffee Traders is simply the best in Manly. The excellent coffee is matched with very pleasant Barista's

Manly's most overrated cafe meets Melbourne's most overrated coffee. St Ali making a push into the Sydney market with b- grade, expensive watery coffee. #nicetry

Great coffee and service!. Excellent coffee (wish they had a larger takeaway size though) and the waffle was delicious even without any topping such as chocolate. Service was quick and the staff were friendly. Definately recommend a visit to this tiny cafe in Whistler Street.

GREAT coffee

Cutest little hideaway in manly . I would have walked past this place so many times without realising it sold coffee at all. So happy that manly has a place that makes decent coffee . Very much enjoyed my piccolo. It was rich and sweet in flavour. Tried the plain waffles and chocolate waffles and thought it complimented well with coffee. Definitely coming back here again . Great job guys .

9 out of 13 Excellent coffee and service - great for a coffee on the way to the ferry One area of improvement - change waffles to croissants

Had a really bad experience. The coffee was watered down, lacked crema & flavour. Very disappointed as my previous experiences with Toby Estate Coffee has always been excellent.

As an espresso drinker, I'm fussy about good coffee. Thankfully these guys are too. Barefoot Traders is small, buzzing, and wonderful. Barefoot Traders is the Northern Beaches answer to Single Origin Roasters: still the only two truly good coffee houses I've found in Sydney.

Charming little coffee shop, best coffee in manly for sure and they are obviously obsessive about it.

Nice coffee, avoid the waffles. Quite nice coffee ($3.50), I would return for that. The waffle with chocolate ($3+$2) was crunchy on the outside but raw all the way through, the additional icing sugar was so unnecessary it made the whole thing sickly sweet, it was inedible.
