Review Pure Whole Foods - Manly

We are regulars at Pure and can’t get enough of their incredibly tasty and so health food! Recently, we also used their catering for an investor meeting at TinkerTank and everyone was impressed! So great to have healthy and great tasting food here in Manly!

Highly recommend their yogi bowl! My new favourite lunch spot in Manly. So many tasty and healthy vegan and GF options. The service is great too.

Favourite spot for high quality, healthy food and great customer service in Manly. Amazing juices, salads and everything from raw treats to fresh baked goods. Love their muffins as well as their sweet and savoury brekkie options. Brekkie wrap is a must have!! Such great customer service they even gave me a free raw treat this morning with my breakfast wrap.

Plenty of vegan and healthy options and quick service. The best though was that this is finally a place that knows how to make healthy delicious, but not dry and whatsoever. We had a salad with zucchini noodles, tofu steak and avocado and it was SO good, perfect dressing. Also big portion. Besides we had a wrap which was also pretty good, but not as mine blowing as the salad. The cute boy supporting his family’s place in at the cashier was adorable btw 🥰 Will be back for sure!

We ordered catering meals for a business event. Food was amazing, super fresh, generous portions, tasty and healthy. Peter was super accommodating, so easy to deal with, delivered the boxes all labelled with the team members' names and diet. Requirements so that we knew in seconds who ordered what. Brilliant! When I attended the May 6th event “A taste of PURE” organised by Peter & Melanie I was immediately satiated in the ambiance of the shop space. So versatile, I noticed as a regular customer the “rearrangement” accommodated for a groovy gang of woman within our northern beaches community, to meet and create conscious connections for business and new friendships. The highlight was the display of stunning vegan foods - rainbow colours and the taste so pure, nourishing and healthy. I was invited to present a talk on health and wellness and we all shared many stories. Fabulous evening 💗 Thank you Pure Wholefoods!

Great place for vegans and vegetarians. Love the salad bowls. Love the desserts. Wish the portions were larger, but it is Sydney, after all.

Every time I eat here I go home, try to minic the taste sensations and can never quite match it! The food is sumptuous, healthy, suits our family's various diets and is really yummy! Highly recommend eating here!

The food was great.. the service not so much.. if I was to go back it would be for the food only and based on the service I would really question whether it's worth it.

Best place in Manly for breakky and lunch. Especially if you like healthy options, salads and fresh ingredients. Always a great vibe and lovely staff. Try the ginger lemon shots to kick start your morning!

I just ordered a take out from Pure Wholefoods. I am very disappointed at the poor quality. I spent $18 on a tiny portion of non organic ingredients which came in a plastic container. For a "wholefoods" company I would expect you to at least use sustainable take away containers.

Just had breakfast here and found the staff lovely and the coffee and food was sooo delicious! Can't wait to come back and try more food! Yum. Sitting outside enjoying the sunshine. What a great way to start the morning :) thank you!

So glad we've discovered this place and will frequent this now! Yum my blueberry coconut pancakes were yum! The kale ricotta cakes to die for!

I really appreciate all the vegan options, but you guys are way overpriced!! Side of avocado was only a quarter piece for $3,50...come on :-( Quinoa-brown rice porridge was to overcooked and not enough rice and quinoa, so pretty watery. Overall a bit disappointing!!

My son and I had lunch yesterday and our meals were delicious. Tried golden latte different but drinkable . Staff were super friendly and helpful . All round pleasant experience �

A lovely meal & very attentive service

Really great vibe and the food is amazing depending on what you are looking for! For lunch on the go the falafel wrap with extra tahini is my go to. The Nasi Goreng is delicious when I’m hungry and have a minute to dine in and enjoy! The green high smoothie with protein is another drink I have if I don’t go for the organic flat white or matcha. And when I have a sweet tooth I devour a raspberry macadamia nut cookie or chocolate banana gluten free muffin. Service is super friendly.

Absolutely love this place!!! If I lived in Sydney, I would come here every day. The yogi bowl with tamari chicken ... wow, the flavours were amazing! The protein smoothies are so filling and great for post-workout. Would definitely come here again whenever I’m in Sydney. Please open up a store in Melbourne!

Delicious and earthy pancake, love it! Ambience was alright. Staff (guy) on cashier was very friendly, but the waitress wasnt so. I also tried the raw passion cheesecake, i think it’s too sweet which doesnt really balance out the taste as a whole and it’s pricey for a piece of cake.

Staff are very nice. They also accomodate to menu modifications well. Plenty of gf options and the food is all super healthy and delicious. They also have good magazines and pre-packaged snacks available which are very handy

Their salad is so fresh and delicious.for drink, I tried sunrise tumeric smoothie and it was amazing and they use reusable straw and they sell reuseablr coffee cups too. This place is very environmentally friendly. Their desserts look great too and I will definitely come back and try !!

One of my favourite places to get food in manly! Whether your vegan/vegetarian or anywhere in between the food is healthy and delicious - staff are very welcoming and helpful. The salad roll and the wrap are to die for!

Nice coffee and the bacon and egg roll is really good. The açai bowl is very good as well.<br/>Very fresh, tasty dishes made with good quality ingredients. Ambience is beachy casual, service is pay by the counter and delivered to your table.

Worst service i've seen since being in France. Super disappointed considering I enjoyed the food. But the owner and employees were awful:/ so uncalled for, and super stingy for how overpriced the place was. I asked for extra hot sauce and was byed out of the cafe. Don't go to a "pure" cafe that will ruin your morning! Find other health cafes around manly. WILL NOT go back

My friend introduced me to this place and I must say it was good. The food served was all healthy and fresh starting from burgers, falafels to desserts. We had lentils with rice and tofu burger. Both of them were delicious.<br/>Service - 3/5<br/>Ambience - 3/5<br/>Food - 3.5/5<br/>

Came to this rustic cafe for lunch with my daughter who is Vegan. Well, what a huge array of food to choose from ...... juices, smoothies, salads, wraps and plenty of sweet treats too! I can highly recommend the pure raw salad with herb tahini dressing with a side of halloumi and the marinated tofu steak wrap. I already know this will become our regular brunch spot, judging by the sheer delight on my daughter's face! So good! Pure happiness in Manly! Six months later: Many visits now and still agree with this review!

Excellent smooth coffee.  Returning to Manly after some time I stumbled into this oasis of calm.  Forests on the wall, gentle music, ample space.   Here you sit with a whole table and elbow room and you can really talk to the person you're with.  The salads were just being laid out for the morning and were so fresh they made you want to eat vegetables for breakfast.  I had a large bowl (for $10 - ridiculous cheap!) of a mix of 3 salads.  Absolutely AMAZING.  I have never had vegetables so fresh, so flavoursome.  Steam veggies, carrot and beetroot with pumpkin seeds (they even grilled them!), and water cress.  Who doesn't love a good snow pea... they have taken broccoli that you can see the greenness of its leaves and juicy snowpeas and steamed them so that they are lightly cooked and still bursting with freshness.  Then my poached eggs arrived with soudough bread and real butter.  Butter that tastes like someone actually churned it and knows what butter actually is.  The sourdough was not just white run of the mill sourdough but wholemeal real bread that was slightly sour without being vinegar-y.  I am not a foody.  But if you are served food which makes you feel like the chefs care about what they are creating in terms of real taste and an owner who has obviously scalped the best talent and best fresh ingredients - they deserve a write up and many return visits!!  Thank you guys!

Food is superb here, but the atmosphere is sometimes sombre with obvious angst happening behind the counter, but could be because they are thriving!

Do not go to this cafe! possibly the worst service and the staff are all so unwelcoming and rude, especially the owner. The worst acai bowl I've ever had and a very long wait for food, coffee is also not that great ( gave me dairy milk when I asked for soy). The salads are way over-priced and too salty. I have been to this cafe a few times and every time has been a bad experience, so I will not go back. Staff need to be more welcoming, happy and overall learn how to provide good customer service! <br/>

Good tasty raw food in a nice relaxed setting. Perfect distance away from the beach to enjoy a bit of peace and quiet.<br/><br/>Recommended for a snack or lunch.

Great coffee! I had the fritters which were pretty good but I really wish I had tried some of the amazing looking desserts they had. Need to come back and try again ☺️

The best breakfast i have had in a long time ! Beautiful pancakes and fantastic caramelised bacon! The coconut yoghurt was also the best I have ever tasted !!

Absolutely the best falafels I have ever had! They do a great acai bowl and a decent coffee. The Bombay eggs are a good size portion and very delicious. The staff are quite friendly, no complaints.

Very disappointed with breakfast bacon and egg roll, which was not a roll and was burnt and inedible. Got it takeaway. If I had not already left Manly before realising, I would have returned it. <br/>Disappointed because I used to really enjoy this cafe and food.

Rude rude rude. Lovely food totally ruined by rude staff and owner in particular. Such a shame as reluctant to go back as this has happened repeatedly (we are manly locals). Sort it out as you are loosing customers - just look at the other reviews!!!! Plenty of other nice places in manly to eat where you are not made to feel like an idiot. Unfortunately the place is always packed so I guess nothing is going to change...

We made our way to the Pure Wholefoods cafe for breakfast one morning. Fortuitously, two trays of freshly-baked vegan muffins appeared at this time. These were also free of gluten and added sugar - the sweetness provided perhaps by the generous amounts of fruits baked in them. Soft and delicious, we were inspired to go back the next day for more. However they appear to sell quickly so you will need to be early. We also tried the healthy vegan quinoa porridge, fresh juices and wheatgrass shots. Soy coffees were excellent. Apparently this cafe used to be vegetarian but no longer is. We didn't notice anyone ordering animal flesh though. Why would they? Even omnivores would be tempted by these delicious vegan offerings. ...a great menu – all vegetarian, predominantly vegan, all delicious, the location is nice, the little shop is handy and the fit-out is pleasant. Unfortunately, it’s run by some of the most disagreeable people I have ever encountered in customer service, and that includes trips to France, Russia and Swindon, UK. Any interaction with the staff here is sipid at best, sour at worst, it’s a real shame and it jars with the wholesome, good lifestyle vibe that they’re playing upon.

Entitlement is delivered. You cannot please everyone but I seem to come away from Pure satisfied every time with both delicious healthy food and the best coffee in Manly and the Northern Beaches for that matter. The staff keep it real and provide a high level of service with occasional sprinkles of humor. I won't go anywhere else for my Manly coffee fix.

Don't go there unless you want to choke to death....... I have eaten here a few times - I do love the salads, but they are way overpriced and I've now found other cafes that have brilliant salads for a lot less. The staff are miserable and rather rude. I've had to wait 10 minutes for a coffee - it was 2:30 in the afternoon, so not exactly rush hour.. I bought some falafels to take home for dinner. My 8 year old daughter bit into hers and spit out a staple. Thank god she spat it out. I would hate to think what would have happened if she'd swallowed it. I went to the cafe the next day, with the staple, and I spoke to the daughter of the owner (who was in the back and wouldn't come out to see me). The daughter honestly didn't seem that bothered. Have not been back since.

Loved it. Friendly staff and excellent food and drink. Busy on a Sunday, because it is so popular. The raw sugar-free chocolate slice is totally amazing. Yum!

All lies!!!!!. I really feel sorry for the staff that work here...they all look so miserable! but in saying that the turn over of staff also shows what sort of people they work for. The owners (the older lady and man) are just rude and treat you like you wasting their time. the food is alright by VERY overpriced....and i know for a fact that they let you believe its organic food...when its NOT! And im sure the people that go there think that spending that sort of money is ok for "organic" food......please there are such better places just a short drive away from here that are better priced and actually organic. how this place has survived so long without being dobbed in to newspapers reguarding their lying to the customers is beyond me!

Rude rude RUDE staff! The boss seems to be half-pleasant to half the customers then won't give the other half the time of day. I stood at the counter while he stood gossiping with his back turned away from me and didn't acknowledge me for a couple of minutes, then couldn't help me with menu choices if his life depended on it. When many customers including myself are asking questions regarding ingredients due to intolerances, I expect to be treated with some respect and not hurried along when nobody is standing behind me. Wouldn't hurt to help a little and put a smile on all of your miserable faces. <br/><br/>Food is good, but for the price, I expect good service to go with it and to feel welcomed into a warm environment. Another customer questioned staff when they got her order wrong and I watched as they insisted it was right, until she insisted it wasn't, they agreed to remake it then I listened to them bitching and moaning about her while she waited outside. Have a little class, PURE.

Favourite spot. This is a frequent brekky/lunch spot. They have an amazing selection of salads, rice balls, tofu balls, salmon patties and muffins. Also the burger, wrap selection is great, you can sort of make your own. And the pesto dressing on the tofu burger is delish. <br/>Corn fritters with haloumi are a favourite for brekky, or the avocado toast. It is a little on the expensive side for brekky but well worth it. They also sell wholefoods, sourdough bread, frozen goods etc. <br/>And the green smoothie is a go-to.

So yummy and healthy. Amazing selection of healthy tasty Hot food and yummy salads. Great muffins, organic coffee and I love the Raw Lemon Cake and the Buckwheat Blueberry Pancakes... :)

Best salads I think I've ever had, and you just know its all good for you;-) down side is its pricey, but you get what you pay for!

The food at Pure is fantastic but the customer service is terrible, the staff are grumpy, unfriendly and rude which ruins the pure vibe.

It plays on the wholesome, good lifestyle vibe which many locals enjoy but which particularly jars with the sour interaction you have with the staff there. I've been going to Pure regularly for a few years and I get no acknowledgement as a regular. Not just me, others say the same. The speed & quality of service, and, actually the portion control, take a massive tumble on the weekends when it gets busier. Every person working in there has a miserable look on their faces and minimal, bitter communication skills. I can't believe that this is a hiring policy so more likely a top-down effect from the especially sour and bitter looking management. Recently I had a particularly bad encounter when I was told I'd handed over a twenty not a fifty, we disagreed, he told me 'I do this everyday..I'll have to trust you..we'll know at the end of the day when I count up', it was a hideous confrontation to be honest.

Awesome food! The burgers are delicious and very filling. Loads of vegan options (around 1/3 of the menu is vegan). I wish I was a local to Manly so I could get to Pure Wholefoods more often.

Best café option for vegetarians in Manly, open for breakfast. Does great fair trade coffee as well as v healthy food. Only a 2 min walk from the beach or the quay.
