Great food! Their $15 steak night on a Thursday is fantastic, and two for one meals on Wednesday too! The best live music as well, to top it all off... .. Bands on the weekend, solo acts during the week, open mic nights, karaoke and trivia.... Awesome views!..... Friendly staff.... The list goes on. If you're in the area, you'd be silly going anywhere else.

Probably had the best rump steak of my life last Saturday night, with beautiful abundant veggies and mash. I say probably cos I hope there are more steaks like these in my future. Wine served on tap was a treat too. My partner had the lamb rack and loved it just as much. Plus there was the awesome house band Kraw...

We had already eaten by the time we arrived, but the menu looks like it offers good pub food.  Cool hidden away spot with live bands playing was a nice surprise.

Manly Deck Restaurant - Manly, Brisbane. Overlooking the Manly Harbor, to get up here it requires finding the right door. Simply a pub, there are plenty of deals throughout the week and nary a day is here where a good value meal is available. Upon hearing about it, with my dining buddy and his daughter, it was the three of us off to Manly to try out their special weekend buffet breakfast. Inside is a combination between basic and nice. You need to go up a flight of stairs and take a right to get there. Once you arrive, if you have the right dynamics in place (i.e. not many people there) it feels quiet and isolated. Wonderful views of the harbour are all-around making up for the lack of atmosphere, as is the food - at least the breakfast that was there.

For what it is worth, the breakfast is pretty good value considering the range of items available and the price for all of it: an economic and affordable $12 a head for buffet. Put aside the expectations for any of the all-inclusive hotel all-you-can-eat breakfast, because we are a long way from that. There are three different methods of egg preparation available at bay (all the ingredients for a rough egg's Benedict are there) plus all sorts of cereals, fresh fruit pieces, fruit yoghurts, fresh fruit juices, cold meats and lots of components for the classical fry-up, plus pancakes. Tea and coffee are available, but if it is espresso you are expecting you are fresh out of luck - unless you ask nicely and pay for one directly? With all that available it was a giant piled up plate for me of crispy bacon, several corn cakes, several pancakes, a serving of mushrooms, plenty of hashbrowns and sausages. The one thing I would have changed going back is pouring a whole lot of maple syrup over it all. For drinks I poured myself a glass of milk - hopefully it was full cream, no sign indicated whether it was or not.

All of it was wholesomely tasty; it sure was not one of the best quality breakfasts nor is it going to be one that I am going to remember way down the track. Where it does have its place is for sheer value. Those low on cash (any poor students in the area, this is your place on weekend mornings) can be as healthy - or not - as they can eating several plates and bowls of whatever they feel is there. The bacon can be a little burnt around the edges, but it makes up for it with the sheer crispy texture and great oil-based taste. As much as you can critique hashbrowns, these ones were still delightfully crunchy making it impossible to stop at only one or two. Both the corn cakes and pancakes were soft and fluffy, more texture than taste obviously meaning they are designed to be topped with other items. All down with a refreshing glass of milk.

Around breakfast time, outside of finding a table and paying the bill, you are on your own with service. The knifes and forks are on a separate table for diner's to collect, any special orders require walking up to the counter and asking, basically it is as it is. They do do a good job at cleaning up the place. This is a good place for live music, catering and a simple, filling hot meal. Round up the kids and take them here, both you and them can enjoy it simultaneously - I know I ultimately did.

Great buffet breakfast for $12. We went here on the weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast. I have seen some reviews here that are critical of this place. People it is what it is. If you are looking for a cordon bleu experience or a Michelin star restaurant by all means avail yourself of another establishment, but if you want plentiful, simply cooked breakfast material, come on down. I had 2 plates of sausages, bacon, hash browns, pancakes and eggs done in a variety of styles, ( poached, fried and scrambled). I could have had breakfast cereals, yoghurt, toast and a selection of fruit juices. Tea and coffee is also available.
I am giving this place 2 thumbs up for the food and service. Perhaps the ambiance is a tad less than desirable, but it is in a beautiful area, right on the harbour. This would be a brilliant place to come to if you are suffering from a hangover and need to fill the the void with quantity, if not quality. We will be back.

Very pleased with the food here and such great value for money, when I went, there was a get two meals for the price if one deal on. The food was delicious and the service was great, very friendly staff. There wasn't that many people there eating, so there wasn't much atmosphere which is a shame, I definitely recommend that people check it out. The dining area isn't the best looking dining area, but the food and service compensates for that. I'll be going back there with friends for sure.

I just like it. We have been a few times. There is a great veranda that you can just have a drink, or eat your meals on. The lights are dim outside and it has great atmosphere as you can see the street below. This place is upstairs and has a queenslander style veranda. The place is kind of old world with a bar in the middle. There are lounges and tables and chairs inside. It is a casual atmosphere with reasonable priced food. Great for groups, as you don't have to split the bill, you pay and order at the bar for meals and drinks.

My husband and I have taken to this place, go with no expectations and see what you think. Just relax. I love it.

Went there on a Tuesday night for dinner with some friends. The place was not what i expected when we turned up with the decore but we had come from the other side of Brisbane for dinner . We ordered the tapas first which came out promptly and they went down quite well between the four of us. 2 of us ordered the ribs and 2 ordered steak sandwich.
The portions were quite good and the ribs were probably the best i have ever had my wife who usually has ribs was annoyed to not have ordered them.
So to sum up this place is a gem good food well priced and cheap beer with friendly staff .

Pub-style Restaurant, Exquisite Food!. I am so glad we made the trip to Manly - in the rain - on Sat, Jan 28 for my birthday, because this pub deserves recognition for the quality, freshness and flavours in their food! This is no ordinary greasy pub food - I would go so far as to say "high end"!

My partner and I aimed to get here for a late lunch and although it was heavily raining outside, we enjoyed sitting out on the large, covered deck. It was quite roomy and had a selection of both high tables and chairs or a couch with lower chairs and table to relax around. There was also a pool table at the far end with enough space around it that nobody would get clocked in the head.

We had mentioned to the very friendly and personable hostess that it was our first time in the restaurant, but after waiting a long time for her to take our order, she did come to our table right away when we were staring at her and told us it was "bar service". In that it wasn't too busy, she sweetly said she'd take our order for us. My partner wanted to go up to the bar and talk to the chef about some of the dishes and found that the Crispy Battered Whiting with greens and beer battered chips ($20) was made with a local fish. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Breast stuffed with spinach and sun-dried tomatoes in a blue vein and mushroom sauce ($25). Mine came with a choice of salad greens, or cooked veggies, and mashed potatoes or chips. I decided on the greens and in that I was in a pub, I HAD to try the chips!

Our meals came out and they were massive! Huge servings, hot and fresh! My partner's fish had a delicate smell and was cooked to perfection! My chicken breast was grilled with slight chard lines and was amazingly moist and tender all the way through! The sun-dried tomatoes were huge and I think this was one of the largest chicken breasts I've ever seen in a restaurant! The sauce on my meal was light, not smothering, and the taste was of a mild blue cheese which did not over power the rich mushroom flavour.

The greens were a nice size, fresh and with a small dab of a mustard style dressing. And the chips…. FANTASTIC!! You can tell a great pub by their chips!! Thick enough (not like wedges) to actually taste the potato, and battered and fried perfectly for an amazing crispness. The seasoning on the chips was a bit more than just salt, but still subtle and not overpowering. No need for tomato sauce here!!

We had an Ouffers coupon for two mains and a bottle of wine which was a nice way to complete an unexpectedly exquisite meal. This really was something you would expect to see in a much more expensive restaurant and although we have been to more expensive places, their meals were not as good or exciting!

I realize that our meals were $20 -25, but they were worth every cent!! We will be back for sure!!

**Two things to note:

1. For $9 my partner had a wonderful dessert! Lots of choices on the menu! And there's a kid's menu, too.

2. The Manly Deck is one level up from the ground floor and the only way to get up there is by stairs, so this place IS NOT wheelchair accessible!
