Review Thuptim Siam - Manly

I gave this two stars because the food we ate from this restaurant honestly deserves it. We ordered 1 x duck herbs, 1 x tom yum soup, 1 x chicken pad thai and 1 x thai beef salad. The thai beef salad was lovely and the duck herbs were interesting and very tasty. BUT the chicken pad thai and tom yum soup were woeful. The chicken pad thai was so mild in flavour it was bordering on bland and the tom yum soup was also too mild. Both were very inauthentic and tasted like they were dumbed down, what a shame but even worse they were full of ridiculous vegetables that shouldnt be in either meal and half the volume of my tom yum soup was vegetables and i ordered it with prawns and only received two prawns which were dry, old and stale. For the first time in many years i spat out a half chewed prawn it was that bad and i ended up with a whole container FULL of vegetables i didnt want to eat. I only went here because it had a great rating on google and it was recommended. If it wasnt for a decent thai beef salad and duck starter it would've been a complete disaster. If you want authentic, this is NOT the place for you. The photos show the left overs that literally took up half the volume of my bland soup

Large servings and fairly priced! Cosy atmosphere!

Food used to be so delicious, fresh and generous. However after my last few orders it seems quality has gone downhill. Greasy, tasteless and watery curry. What a shame. I won’t bother ordering again.

This place is great. We have been there for lunch and for dinner quite a few times. The food is always fantastic with loads of dishes to choose from. The staff are friendly and welcoming, the restaurant itself is nicely decorated with really comfy chairs. We will definitely be coming back.

Fresh, delicious food and good atmosphere. The green curry I had was perfect not too spicy just how I like. The staff are very polite and friendly. Highly recommended.

Wrong entree served and they tried to convince us it was the same.thing as we ordered, the satay chicken was excessively dry, the coconut rice was soggy almost risotto style. Not impressed at all.

Everything was super good. Just a few points to be noted to be changed in future such as staff, manager, owner, tables, layout, location, carpet, stairs, doors and fish tanks. Other than that, superb!! Me very happy chappy.

I love the Roasted Duck Curry and Pad see ew!! The flat noodles which they use in Pad see ew is fantastic. Prawn dumplings(Hagow) and curry puff are also nice for starters! Thank you for a lovely dinner and nice staff as well.

Stumbled across this cute little restaurant located on Pittwater Road, Manly around 8pm Saturday night. Staff were friendly, it was pretty busy and the food leaving the kitchen smelt great. I was starving and the wait for my takeaway red chicken curry was stomach wrenching. I practically jogged the 10 minutes home so I could dig in ASAP! At $16.40 for takeaway with rice I found my meal pretty good value for money. ! huge tub of rice that will last another 2 serves of leftovers at least. Sadly there was no leftover curry though ;) Generous serving of chicken and fresh (not frozen) vegetable in a tasty red curry sauce. The chicken was a tad dry but admittedly I reheated it quickly when I got home. Would recommend Thuptim Siam to others and would happily eat there again to try the laksa an other curries.
