Review Watervue - Manly

Ordered the fish and calamari combo for $17 and got literally 2 calamari rings. Spoke to the manage/owner to query if this was the correct portion size which he rudely confirmed. Manager then continued to berate us even after I asked him to let us eat in peace. Calamari rings were soft and fish and chips were ordinary. Rip off prices. Stay away.

First off, I never write negative reviews but I feel I would be doing an injustice by not trying to spread the word. This "restaurant" is absolutely terrible. Terrible in service, terrible in food, terrible in management. We probably should've guessed the quality of the food wouldn't be great by the lack of customers, and if we had looked at reviews online beforehand we would've also seen this restaurant was definitely not worth visiting. Our meal was explained to us as a special by staff. Surprise, surprise! When going to pay, they argued that the "free" coffee wasn't included and the specials sign didn't indicate it would be even though the waitress had confirmed it was. We were happy to pay AFTER they had explained the difference between the specials board and the standard menu however they would not accept their waitress gave us the incorrect information, not even an apology. Instead, they ridiculed us and belittled us by rudely asking if we deserved special treatment like a prime minister. The manager was incredibly rude, intimidating, and arrogant. Never have I experienced this type of treatment in any public place let alone a restaurant in my entire life in Australia. Onto the food - BAD. Just bad. Scrambled eggs were sloppy mush, tomato was barely cooked let alone roasted, coffee was bitter, "sautéed" mushrooms tasted day old - I could go on. Big shame that such a crappy restaurant is in such a prime and beautiful location. So... "HATED IT" is an understatement. Don't go here. Ever.

Probably the worst dinning experience I've had. My boyfriend and I were after a quality meal after a long day at the beach and had never been so disappointed after eating out. I've never written a review before but no customer deserves to waste their time money and health by eating here! The wedges came out with old watery sour cream, the parmigiana was processed chicken, the salad tasted dirty. The fish and calamari was defanitly not fresh, it came out dry on the inside and incredibly oily and hard batter, tartare sauce and aoli tasted old and watered down. I'm surprised we both didn't get sick! Whilst paying we also overheard the rude, intimidating manager not allow one of his staff to go on a break! Someone should get this place closed down, its a shame to have such a disgusting place in such a beautiful location!

Went today to this place today for the first time and still regretting it. I have not had such a bad experience at an eating place in Sydney in a long long time. The food was bad!! It looked and tasted like old food from the freezer and was over-priced. The waitress was extremely strange, she seemed in a hurry and when I asked how many pieces of fishes do we get in 'fish and chips' she said 'I dont know'. Then I asked about the chicken, and her reply was the same as if we were annoying her. We should've walked out then and there, big mistake. Save your money, you're better off going somewhere else for cheaper and better food.

DON'T GO THERE!! Worst restaurant in Sydney since a while... The food is realy bad, everything was microwaved, the fish and chips really tiny, the chips not cooked. I had a burger, it was just a joke.... One overcooked steak between two slice of bread that you buy in a cheap supermarket. It was really dry... My friend had a steak it was disgusting, he couldn't finish it.... The owner was so rude...

I don't understand the negative review from the other people. My family and I were treated by a friend in this shop, and I would definitely recommend this place. Fish and chips were perfect, good size serving, the price is right, services were prompt and courteous. Pasta dish is quite good.

We were after some hot fish and chips. The manager out the front looked firm, but the service was good. The food was prepared well but was cooked from premade frozen fish, squid, potato chips. The salt and pepper squid didn't taste like salt nor pepper. The salad was OK but could have been better. My friend ordered mashed potatoes; it must have been made from an instant mix, and my friend found this insulting. The whole experience was surprising for il Corso in Manly. I'd suggest to go elsewhere.

Staff was very kind and prompt for seated service but my meal took longer then it should have seeing as how there weren't many customers. When my ice melted I noticed dirt floating and my steak arrived warm. Would not recommend.
