Review Rimini - Manly

Gabriel
An excellent selection of things to have for brunch, and definitely top-notch and quality and presentation that’s for sure. My only gripe would be that some of the staff on this particular Saturday were probably not as engaging as they could’ve been, although that did not spoil the experience. It was a lazy Saturday so the lacklustre energy could’ve been due to that, however they were friendly and polite. Still recommend trying this place out, one of the better places to have brunch in Manly!

The food wasn’t amazing! I ordered — Morton Bay Bugs Char grilled bugs served w. a light couscous salad, endive leaves & beetroot gel & the Spicy Lychee Vodka, lychee liqueur, lychee, ginger, chilli, pineapple juice + half a dozen of oysters. The main was very healthy but the salad was very plain & the Morton bug was also bland, and tough! Which means it was overly cooked! It was hard to pull out of the shell! The oysters were so yummy! Fresh (that’s all I enjoyed) from the menu! The spicy lychee vodka didn’t have a nice taste, the lychee tasted didn’t suit the spice. The view was amazing, across the road we could see the beach. In terms of servicing, not so friendly. Everyone looked miserable serving us. We didn’t feel welcome! We came on a Saturday around 1 PM. In the terms of cleanliness, the tables were sticky!! Even though I wiped down my table myself! I couldn’t get rid of the stickiness feeling!!

I got the Portuguese chicken burger and it was hands down thee best chicken burger I’ve ever had!! My Dad got the pancakes and he said they were excellent. My wife got the cheese burger but said it tasted more like meatloaf than a burger. She wasn’t as impressed with her meal as we were. The service was great and the view/location was also pretty good.

What a shame! Perfect location BUT despite the initial attentive service we waited an hour to NOT receive our entree and then we were served the most disappointing, hideous and embarrassingly poor effort of a ‘Mango and Prawn Salad’. Old cos lettuce (3 leaves browned with dirt in place), half a cherry tomato on each leaf, some 10 cent piece sized frozen prawn, and what was once maybe... a bit of poorly chopped, possibly tinned mango. Offensive! Even the staff looked embarrassed. Never Again! These guys need to get their act together. We left, were told by the manager to not pay for the wine we had ordered and already finished (during the hour wait) and had an amazing bowl of delicious salad elsewhere.

We went on a cold and miserable night, so the usual footpath dining with beach views was not available. That said we sat in a comfortable, quite inside and were looked after by attentive staff. The cocktails were great with the usual and some interesting new options. For dinner we had a few prawn options, and my son got the ribs and burger combo. All were of high quality and very tasty. Followed by a good selection of desserts, yummy, and espresso martini’s. not the cheapest spot in Manly, but great for a really top meal.

This place was just perfect. Nice food with a amazing view of Manly beach. We mainly ordered seafood dishes and were very happy with them. Although keep in mind that portions can be hugh. Cocktails were really great as well as the service. I do highly recommend to try this restaurant out.

A cozy restaurant with relaxed seating overlooking the beach and the ocean. They have both outside comfortable seating and indoor more personal seating arrangement for people. I tried their signature fish and chips that comes with a healthy portion of greens and any drinks of your choice. The food was delicious and you can eat it enjoying the Ambience, the surrounding areas, beach going people and surfers. Overall experience is great and recommended strongly

Conveniently located on the Manly beachfront, Whitewater is the perfect place to dine for breakfast, lunch or dinner. They have a diverse menu which caters for all different crowds and occasions. The restaurant can seat up to 140 guests and can host a cocktail event for up to 160 guests. Indoor and outdoor seating options are available. On a sunny day, the outdoor seating is the most ideal for soaking up the sun and appreciating the beautiful view of Manly Beach. To drink, we had the Whitewater Martini - kaffir lime and lemongrass, infused vodka, apple liqueur shaken with apple juice and lime juice. Pleasant flavour and great combination of flavours. The other half needed some caffeine so he had a strong cup of coffee. The coffee art was surprisingly impressive. We visited the restaurant for lunch and started with the Roasted Chinese duck with housemade pancakes, shallots, cucumber and plum hoisin sauce. The serving size was perfect, wasn’t too big or too small. For a restaurant that doesn’t specialize in Chinese cuisine, the flavours were on par. The only drawback for us was that there were 5 pieces of duck but only 4 pancakes. For the mains we had the Homemade tiger prawn spaghetti, cherry tomatoes, parsley and garlic pesto, spinach, and chilli in a Napolitana sauce. There was a generous amount of prawns and the pasta was nicely cooked. The flavours worked well together. The second main we had was the chargrilled swordfish fillet with tartar sauce and lime. It’s normally served with steakhouse chips but we opted for rocket salad to get some greens in. It was well seasoned and the tartar sauce nicely complimented the fish. The meal was well presented, on a chopping board which gave a rustic and homey feel. The rocket salad worked very well with the fish. It had parmesan, pinenuts, and aged balsamic dressing. The fish was a little overcooked for our preference but apart from that, it was delicious. No meal is complete without dessert. With the wide selection of options on the dessert menu at Whitewater, it’s an even better excuse. We were excited to try the Lemon Meringue which was a short crust pastry filled with a zesty lemon curd topped with burnt Italian Meringue. The pastry was light and crispy and the meringue was not too sweet. All the flavours worked very well together. We also tried the Affogato which was a sweet and simple way to finish off our meals.
