Love my brumundi wings. They are my favourite cuts of a large fish. Really excited to see chef who ain't afriad to use some less common cuts.
However my mum possibly bent the knife while trying to cut the beef toasties.
Delicious food and coffee, great customer service and cool space! Had the Chili Scrambled Eggs and it was just the right amount of spice, with flavoursome chorizo. What else can you ask for?
We enjoyed breakfast and hot drinks here on a recent visit to Mansfield. The food highlight was the ham and cheese croquettes, and the coffee was superb.
The service was generally good, but they seemed too eager to take away our plates and give us the bill even though the cafe was only half full. Still, highly recommended for breakfast/brunch and beverages.
Good breakfast and coffee. They were very busy but accommodated a group of 9 of us and 2 dogs well. Bit expensive for size but still a good meal.

Nice place, service is fast and friendly. Coffee is good for country towns compared to Melbourne's cbd. Portion is a tad smaller than expected. Overall, nice and good for families get together or with friends.
Great addition to Mansfield. Probably the best coffee in these neck of the woods including mt Buller so highly recommend getting one to go before heading up to the ski fields. A very brunchy menu affair, the chilli scrambled eggs was good. Eggs were fluffy and slightly runny which is just the way I like it. Serving was probably a bit small as we were still hungry after Which is the only negative in our experience. Sausage roll was delicious, crispy pastry and a well seasoned filling. Nice herby flavour throughout the filling. Long black was smooth, and had a nice dark chocolate note. staff were on point, very attentive and friendly.

They had an amazing special hearty minestrone soup, plus I had the lam with red wine jus and root veg. Beautiful sweet flavour.

This cafe is very popular for coffee and has variety of roasted coffee beans. Latte had beautiful fresh aroma. Milk texture is flat and nice to have espresso itself.
All staff are so friendly and lunch menu is nice.
(Crunchy) Hush brown for breakfast menu would suitable for adults only and personally prefer cook more soft.
Taking some fresh House Party coffee beans home and takeaway cup for long drive back to Melbourne.

The joint is jumping on a busy Autumn long weekend. Mountain bikers, motorcyclists, hikers, tourists: but the only locals seem to be the harried but friendly crew churning out coffee and food at a mighty rate. Checks all the hipster coffee joint boxes: concrete floor, US navy chairs, chalkboard menu, industrial lighting, wooden bench tops and a roaster in the corner. Point of difference is the massive wood stove waiting for winter. Food is generously proportioned and well presented. Big and light and airy and family friendly. Winner.
Great coffee and cold drinks!! Fantastic service also, very inviting and friendly! You need more lunch options as the menu is quite limited. We went here for lunch and could not find anything to eat as it was all for breakfast. Maybe introduce a lunch menu and breakfast menu to keep up to date in the Melbourne style of eating!

Had breakfast at Mansfield coffee merchant this morning. On of the best coffees ever had and the food was great. Staff very friendly and welcoming.
I loved everything about this place! The coffee, the food, the interior, the staff! An absolute must when visiting country Victoria. I had the smashed avo and my boyfriend got the pulled pork baguette - both melt-in-your-mouth-fantastic
Fabulous food, great service and good coffee - a great little cafe for a spot of brunch. Up there with the best of Melbourne's brunch spots. The mushroom dish was just delish - and a little different from the normal 'mushroom and toast'. Also delish was the pulled lamb with barley and pumpkin. AND the side of chips was out of this world. So yummy. Tempted to regularly do the drive to Mansfield just to eat here.
Good coffee, good service and good food! Great atmosphere as well (Fireplace in the corner and coffee smell) Would 100% recommend for a nice breakfast before a day at the snow.

Highly recommend!!! I can't believe a cafe of this standard is in a country town. The coffees are great and the food is delicious. As good, if not better than most cafes in Melbourne. You can't not come here if you're travelling through Mansfield. Recommend the hash browns! Ps they have eftpos, not sure why it says cash only
We checked out this cafe on a really busy day. But the staff were on point and seated us pretty quickly. And even though it was a full house, the food came out rather quick.
Food had great flavour. Really enjoyed it. Just wish the servings were a little bigger.

Two families with young kids booked. We arrived 20 mins early, and they were ready. We sat in the kiddies corner, where the chalk board wall was for the kids. Anyway we ordered a whole range, and they all tasted delicious. Even the coffee was exceptional.

Went here for breakfast this morning as it rated so highly on here, it was very busy, always a good sign. Seated, water and coffee arrived quickly, very nice coffee and an amazing real chai latte, very good. 3 dishes of Avocado smash were ordered which were very good, I ordered poached eggs, mushrooms and their home made baked beans. My eggs arrived with no mushrooms and the beans were cold? I asked about the mushroom and they were all apologies, then called them back once I tried the beans and realized they were cold. By the time I got warm beans and my mushroom I had eaten 3/4 of my eggs. Having said that, I am sure this is a one of because of how busy it was, the food was very good once it arrived. I would definitely try it again, food and coffee is very good.

Called in for a late breakie/ lunch, I have been here several times for coffee only, and being a fussy coffee head this is the best coffee in Mansfield !!! Well the food did not disappoint ! I had the poached eggs with smoked leg ham on hash browns, really great !!!
The staff are super friendly and the service was fast ! The cafe interior has been decked out really well, so along with every thing else it's no wonder why this place is busy !

The place is spacious with good seating capacity. Perfect place to have breakfast with family and friends.
All great! Equally satisfied with the cappuccino and single origin espresso. Looking forward to trying other coffee variations next time. The Mork hot chocolate was a great change the usual overly sweet hot chocolates available elsewhere.

Very nice breakfast and very good coffee. This was the first place we have been to for breakfast in Mansfield, tried another cafe called Star. Both cost the same but the quality of Coffee Merchant is totally another level. Will be back again.
We went back twice after having their Burger for Lunch. Soft bun, a good serving of beef and condiments. The Chips are soo good too!

Perfect location sitting in the morning sun, great service and interesting menu. Portions could be larger but that's because my breakfast was so good. Didn't have coffee but the ones getting around looked good.

I didn't expect to find quality coffee in Mansfield but was so happy to find this place that I ordered a second latte to go after lunch. I had the Zucchini Fritters which were melt-in-your-mouth delicious! The waitress we had was cheerful and attentive - great service!

I never expected such a good restaurant far away from Melbourne! Very relaxing dining environment, happy waitresses and they serve very delicious coffee which can compare with the ones in CBD lanes! I ordered coffee cured salmon which was very refreshing for a hot day! Salmon and some cherry tomatoes matched each other. The turkey burger was very juicy, this is the first juicy turkey burger I ever had! Avocado BLT and hush brown with eggs were delicious too!
Noticed this cafe on Zomato rated highly so decided to try it for coffee and cake. Best ever carrot cake and coffee of a high quality. Recommend it.
Found this amazing eaterie after driving most of the day on a long caravanning holiday. Desperate for not only good food and coffee but a great experience all round. We found it here! Staff were so lovely. Enjoyed the chef's happy singing while he worked as well. The Reuben sandwich was to die for and the accompanying hand cut chips were divine. My husband had the turkey burger which he described as 'magnifico' and loved the hand cut fries being presented on the side in a brown paper bag. My coffee came so quickly and just how I requested. Lovely pot of tea for my husband - came in a crimson little cast iron teapot with Japanese style white cuddle cup with temporary little milk pourer in matching white ceramic. Cute touch to have tea timer in three different time settings on the tray. All these made for a truly lovely time together. So good we will come back for breakfast before we go back home thank you

Found this gem of a shop on the drive up to Mt Buller on Sat and just had to stop by for a cuppa on the way down, back to Melbourne two days later (today)! Enticed by the white choc & raspberry muffin and it was delish! Perfect crunch crisp top yet moist inside! Need a cafe like that in the suburb I live in!
Upon arriving at Mansfield, we were looking for a coffee and found this gem. Great place and atmosphere. We ordered latte and chai latte, will be coming back for more to try the food and cakes as they looked yummy!
Exceptional coffee finally made it to Mansfield!
Walking into this cafe feels like home, the staff are friendly and welcoming even when they're under the pump. Their recent additions of a giant fire place, coffee roasting machine and green wall have also added to the warm but casually hip atmosphere of the place.
The food is always great, with staples such as chilli avocado eggs gracing the menu. Their menu is also always being updated so you're spoilt for choice.
Lastly the coffee. THE BEST COFFEE you will get between Melbourne and Mt Buller hands down. They roast it themselves, the baristas are all amazing they know what they're doing.
Super kid friendly, gluten friendly, great food and exceptional coffee will keep me coming back week after week. Two giant thumbs up! 👍👍
I recently moved out here and the Mansfield Coffee Merchant is my favourite place to grab lunch. The staff are friendly, the food is amazing and it's a great place to either meet people, or sit on your own and people watch.

Great place. We were greeted upon arrival with a smile and seated straight away. With toddler twins in tow, I was not made to feel like a leper as is often the case, and they had FOUR highchairs! So many places only have one and we end up walking out of so many establishments. Service was flawless, food, coffee and juice was sublime. Atmosphere was great. Prices matched the food and service. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be returning.
Best Coffee In The Mountains!!!. Awesome atmosphere and incredible food and beverages! Coffee is outstanding and I'm a fan of their chai. Dog friendly with a big outdoor area with water bowls and lots of shade. Super friendly staff. I'm impressed and will come back whenever I'm in Mansfield!!
Hubby got the chilli and avocado with poached eggs and I got the beef brisket burger - both looked and tasted delicious. Coffees were perfect! Friendly and attentive service, child friendly too - a new favourite whenever we visit Mansfield!
Called in for Sunday lunch with my handsome boyfriend. The place was packed which is a good sign. Managed to get a table for 2. Bf got chicken larb wraps, I had lamb gozleme and a bowl of chips. Managed to snap up the last caramel slice thanks to the awesome waitress. It was DELICIOUS!!! Best slice in the whole universe. And in the way out I noticed they have lactose free milk which is usually a good sign of an excellent cafe. Will be back tomorrow!!
Poached Eggs and Bacon. Perfectly cooked free range eggs - best I have had in a long time. Plenty of bacon and served on very nice sourdough. Great coffee and fantastic atmosphere, staff were very attentive. Can't wait to go back.

Best breakfast around before hitting the slopes!. Our family of four (kids 5 and 7) had breakfast here twice before we were off skiing for the day. The menu here is average in length, but every dish we ordered was great. We tried the french toast, the BLT, a variety of combinations of their eggs with different side dishes, the great selection of juices, some nice cakes and the coffee, which was excellent too. They also have a very nice cold drip coffee. Most of all, their service was quick and extremely friendly, which always makes for a great start into the day. We certainly would have come back more often if we stayed longer then the just for the weekend.
When a cafe is this busy on a Wednesday morning, they must be doing something right. Simple but delicious menu and superb coffee! The service was fantastic, the staff take the time to stop for a chat to make you feel welcome. Will certainly be back when we're passing through next time!
We enjoyed it here. It’s a lovely hipster standard cafe. They have delicious silky coffee here. It was brilliant and we could not fault it. There’s no all day breakfast but you can have eggs and all the extras. I had that and mine was superb as it was beautifully cooked and presented with no skimping. A final shout out to the lovely funky staff here. They helped create a very happy experience.
Dropped in after picking up something from Mansfield. What a nice place to dine in with generous sized pizzas.
We were going to get two but saw one come to another table and decided to share it between the two of us. The beef brisket pizza is tasty and look forward to trying more of the menu next time!
Staff are also friendly which always gives good vibes. Could easily be 5 stars but will need to come again and eat more from the menu to decide.

Normally when you travel into regional Aust, you can expect coffee that tastes like its come from a machine that hasn't been cleaned in four years and meals that somehow are tasteless, even though they contain more butter and salt than a butter factory.
However, the Coffee Merchant in Mansfield is AMAZING. Not only have you got delish coffee roasted in house (from the look of it) but the food is phenomenal. The Carbonara was so good, and I should be ashamed to admit this (but I'm not), I literally ate the sauce like it was a damn soup at the end.
Wait times were a bit long, but well worth it.
Coffee was perfect (and I’m pretty fussy about my coffee), beef short rib toastie was delicious. Scrambled eggs also done well. The pepperoni pizza was generous with the topping however this did make it a little greasy. Ambience is lovely. Staff were friendly and attentive, although slightly busy (staff shortages everywhere atm so this is understandable). Our drinks didn’t make it on to the order at first but that was a simple mixup and quickly resolved. Prices pretty reasonable considering it’s a regional town.
Best place in Mansfield for Coffee or breakfast. If like creamy coffee or a tasty big breakfast this will impress you and the service very friendly stuff
