We came here for dinner on a Saturday. The place wasn't busy but it was fully booked. We were lucky as we made a booking in advance. We ordered the garlic bread and dry aged rib eye on the bone to share. The rib eye was cooked to perfection and was absolutely delicious. Service was friendly and efficient.
Best steak I ve ever had!!! The garlic bread tastes nothing special, but the steak is to die for. Tried the dry aged T bone and sirloin on the menu. Both are perfectly cooked in medium rare. Definitely A highlight of mount Buller trip
Very enjoyable though I'm a larger portion person myself, so the hope a very large juicy steak was floundered by its associated price. Price is its floor. Food was excellent, with a good wine list, with service and ambience to match. If you are in the area start saving and enjoy this venue. You won't regret it.
Very cosy place. Can imagine heaps of people up here for the snow will stop by here for the cosiness.
Not to mention the great food. Really enjoyed the burger, especially the patty. Just wish it had a bit more sauce.
The sriacha chicken pasta was the highlight.
Staff were great and very welcoming. Kept checking up to make sure everything was ok. Worth a visit.
Great steaks and excellent service - I love the pride they show in their meats and it comes through in the flavor of the steaks. Some of the best rib eyes you will find outside of Italy!

Had dinner with 3 kids aged from 10 - 7. Fussy eaters and dinner was very nice. Pork belly was a hit and lamb shank was nice. Prawns were very fresh! I liked it. This was on a Tuesday nite place was quiet ! Not very family oriented, very nice for a romantic dinner. Try it
Still awesome!. Been here 3 years ago after skiing and ordered the same menu. It was my birthday and made some special dessert for me.
Service was excellent. The waiter described menu well and the popular pork belly was so tender meat with beutiful crackling ever!
The volume is perfect and I would say it is more to quality of meal. Fresh veg and chips.
Variety of drinks to choose and elegant restaurant.
We went here last night as we saw a menu in the hotel its affiliated with and we both really enjoyed it. Staff were nice & very helpful & explained all about the steaks as I was ordering one & haven't in at least 8 years, ambience was spot on. Really happy!
Good food with average portions.
Price was a tad expensive.
Decor and ambience was very nice.
Service was brilliant.
Will come back when I'm in the area.
Lovely place, Food & service.. Was recommended by a lady for Watson's Horse Trek's that this was a great place for steak. Not disappointed. Too late to book so popped in on the off chance & got the last table. Lovely lady served us at our table & even discovered for us that the beef was our next door neighbour at where we were staying... LOL. We'll be back!!!
Ask for the potato wedges. Our dinner here was great.....but I will always remember their potato wedges. A large serving, generously flavoured with herbs and served with a rich, bold tomato relish. Love it, love it, love it!
If I could I would go back to Mansfield just for that.
We had a very nice meal. The high country chicken with lemon myrtle was excellent. The new owners are very friendly and attentive. I thoroughly recommend The Deck on High.
Had two of the platters. Service lovely. Food okay.
Very nice! Great food, city prices, excellent service!
Awesome place. Had the beef cheek pie an wagu beef burger. Was beautiful and the open fire made it that much more special with the lovely lady.
Worth the drive to Mansfield. I LOVED this meal. The two of us had Beef Cheek Pie (a special), Twice Cooked Pork Belly with maple crackling, apple & zucchini remoulade & spiced apple salsa & a pear cider reduction. We shared a bottle of DalZotto Sangiovese Cabernet. Then we shared a HUGE portion of Lemon Myrtle & Macadamia Cheesecake. Portions were enormous, the food was wonderful & the service warm & friendly. And the bill was just $102 which was amazing value.

Delish. Easter weekend Saturday we were seated quickly, terrific given how busy the place was. The menu is interesting with a satisfying but not overly large selection. We had two of the small plates. I was totally in love with the pork sliders, tasty little morsels nestled in home baked little buns mmmmmm. The wine is is comprehensive but also not over large and including a delicious local chardonnay. Will book a table next time to get a table upstairs, will certainly be back!
Great night out in Mansfield. We booked a group of 23 bicycle riders and friends for our Saturday night dinner in Mansfield. A well-balanced menu with a range of interesting "small dishes" (sticky ribs, pork belly and corn fritters were all delicious) as well as the more traditional main courses (steaks, fish and curry of the day were all popular). This ensured the troops were very happy. The food was delicious and the ambiance and service was great. The wine list was extensive and reasonably priced. The staff were friendly and very helpful and even the power outage that caused the EFTPOS machines to go off-the-air at the end of the night was handled calmly and pleasantly. The whole group was very impressed with this restaurant.
Went to have dinner hereon Sat night as part of a group. The Deck is super busy and it is best to book before hand. Food was divine which offset the lack of service at times. A must try if you're in town and have plenty of time to eat.
Hitting well above Mansfield's average!. The deck stands alone among Mansfield's offerings for atmosphere, service and the quality and presentation of their food. The dinning experience is relaxed but sophisticated and the menu offerings are versatile, allowing you to share or eat in traditional courses. The staff are friendly and knowledgable and provide a service which is seamless. The sticky ribs are amazing! Best experience I've had in a rural vic town of its size!
I went for the fish and chips. The fish (John Dory) was light and nicely crumbed. The very chunky chips, fresh salad, homemade tartar sauce and 2 lemon segments complemented the fish beautifully. A large, but rewarding meal. Overall, the best fish and chips I've had in my 2 years here in Australia (and I eat fish and chips at least once a week)
I always enjoy the ambience of The Deck. Food is tasty. Service friendly. It is expensive though and I always seem to have an unsettled stomach afterwards!
A Posh Place to Hang. Ok, so your in country Victoria, do you think that you could find a decent place to eat? YES YOU CAN!, YES YOU CAN! (as the catch cry goes) The Deck oh High. A pretty amazing space in the restaurant, think, Morrocan, meets, Turkey, meets a bedouin tent somewhere in the Arabian Tundra - it seem to have all types of diners covered, (seating arrangement that is, intimate, casual, a quick bit and for a longer stay) and even a take away. The service was efficient and prompt. The food. The Asian Fritters, smooth, sweet potato, studded with crunchy beans (?) The Roti bread, not too bad. The Five Spice Duck, was pertty good, nearly amazing, slightly crunchy duck, skin bonned ( It would have been even better had there been duck on the bone) was cooked to falling off the bone, soft and chewy, sented with the five spices, all in near perfcet harmony. The Whiskey pudding, not bad, could have been better, with the sultanas in the thing, but not a bad effort. How good would this place be in the summer, Manfield have a "Posh" place to "Hang"
Excellent Birthday party venue. We had a 40th birthday party of 18 people over the weekend at this venue. The food, atmosphere and attentiveness of the staff was excellent. Just about everyone commented on the quality of the meals. We were in the back room, which had an open fireplace which was very cosy.
We have had meals here on three earlier occasions, and each time enjoyed the food.
Perfect in many ways. Service was super friendly, ambiance perfect, GM was the nicest and then after all that.... The food was the highlight.. mushroom pie was off the charts good... Goulash was amazing.. crumble could be crumblier... But a great dinner and memorable regardless. Thank you so much.
Very nice place to crash for the night. Very reasonably priced and prime location. 3 of us arrived Friday night for a late check-in around 10.30 pm. The staff was very welcoming and showed us the room and around the hotel amenities.
There was water, kettle, coffee, sugar, tea and milk and a bar fridge in the room. These details were not mentioned in the booking site. (Couldn’t get a response to the message I sent to the property via booking.com)
The room also had a inverter AC and a ceiling fan.
The shared toilet and bathroom were very clean. Great water pressure in shower, heated lights in the shower room. The beds were pleasant. We booked the Family room and was perfect for 3 (can accommodate 4) people.
Saw great reviews on the food/bistro. Kitchen closed by the time we arrived. So maybe next time!
A point to note - the hotel parking gate closes around 10 PM and reopens around 6 am. So if you arrive late (like us), you’ll have to park off-street and there were enough free slots anyway on the street.
Incredible service from the manager (I assume) and staff. A super busy Easter Saturday evening and our booking for 9 people had unfortunately been put on the wrong day. Despite them being fully booked, they found us a space and ensured all our meals came out quickly. All of which were delicious!
They went above and beyond, despite being run off their feet, and remained so warm and polite.
5 stars. Great pub with fantastic staff. Will be back next time we are in town.
Phenomenal food and an excellent dining experience.
There's an outdoor playground for the kids too, so if you're hard-pressed getting a night away from the little ones, Delatite has you covered with a sheltered and heated outdoor seating section too.
Right in the middle of Mansfield's town, it's easily accessible from local accommodation and walking distance from a selection of other fantastic shops and locations.
Food was pretty decent. Service was excellent. It could use a bit of renovation and the game room for the kids could use a few more toys but it has a nice friendly atmosphere. We will come back again if we are in the area.
Amazing amazing service. Was staying at the hotel just for 1 night. Didn’t want to go out as it was cold. Staff helped me heat up my food!!! Was unexpected and I would have been understanding if they refused. Great great service. 5 stars well deserved…
Unfortunately I got there at 4:30pm. Starving ready to smash a Steak amongst other things. As it was
1 hour before dinner service. They were on a limited menu. Or 2 types of Parmas, so didn't get to experience any yummy food on offer. Only food available Chicken Parmigiana standard, or with sour cream sweet chili sauce and bacon. Give it a 7 out of 10. Had the sticky date pudding not bad. Our host from Germany she was great with friendly service.
