Review Marconi Coffee - Margate

Matthew Cuthbertson
Marconi is now under new management! It is now called Industry & Co. It was purchased by a non profit organization called ROPE. who work with adults with a disability. Industry & Co is about giving our young adults with a disability some retail experience and training within the cafe. It serves coffee and some light meals.

This is a enterprise that prepares young people who have various disabilities to enter the work force. Every dollar you spend here helps someone live a full life and be included in the community rather than excluded as we so often see. Plus the coffee and baked goods are great!

Now called Industry & Co. Asked for a iced Long Black and got a iced Latte. Thanks spent $4 for it to go in the bin. Very disapointed, a coffee shop should know how to make coffee.

Small cafe which we noticed on passing & as I needed a coffee fix decided to try it. Inside they have an old record player which adds character & authenticates the name I guess. Coffee was served quickly by friendly staff & I got a reasonable coffee hit, but not a lot of crema on the flat white

Love the coffee and the friendly service from Michelle. Definitely worth my while driving a different way to work so I can get a quality caffeine hit. Nice to see Qld coffee on offer too - yum!

Great experience!. Took a chance with this little place for breakfast on Saturday morning and are very glad that we did!! The prices were unbelievably reasonable (the best value we've seen in the 'cliffe), the food was fresh and delicious, coffee was great and the ladies running the place were very friendly and efficient.

The only thing is I wish they were open on Sunday mornings too! We'll be back

Fantastic value for money!. We have a new breakfast place! Normally weekend breakfasts are alternated between various places we've enjoyed along Redcliffe Parade, but this time we decided to give Marconi Coffee in Margate a try and we're so glad we did.

The two women there (I'm assuming one was the owner) were just so genuinely lovely and accommodating.

Only a fortnight earlier we had tried a new cafe along Redcliffe Parade where breakfast of eggs, bacon and toast was $ 8.50. Being gluten intolerant, I asked if they had gluten free bread given that they sold gluten free cakes. No - they didn't but I could substitute for a hashbrown for an extra $ 2.00. I'm also vegetarian and I asked for the bacon to be substituted with mushrooms - that cost me an extra $ 1.80. When the meals finally came out we could not believe how small the servings were. I have never seen such small poached eggs in my life, the hashbrown was oily and I was served a teaspoon of sliced mushroom. Obviously we won't be returning there again.

Now at Marconi's, they advertised a $ 7.50 breakfast of the same - eggs, bacon and toast. I asked if they do GF bread - yes they do and no extra charge. I asked if they could leave the bacon off, and they suggested that I try some of their (incredible) home made baked beans. No additional charge for this either.

The coffee was perfect, the meal size was fantastic and the quality was amazing. My partner ordered the "normal" breakfast with the beans on the side and easily would've had 6 or more slices of bacon. Two days later and we're still commenting on how wonderful our breakfast was.

We will be back!!!
