Awesome food, coffee & service. Moved to Melbourne from the US 2 years ago and we've found some great food places, some good coffee places and some okay service, never all under the same roof, but this is honestly the first places that deserves top marks for all. My wife is vegan, I'm a big meat eater, and both of us loved the food. Coffee and chia tea were great, and it's the first time since we came here that we came across wait staff that could multi task. Can't recommend this place highly enough!

I have been here twice in the last month and both times was greeted with the most welcoming and friendly staff. The coffee is nice and strong and the food is always tasty. I can recommend the fancy french toast for something a little special, but even a simple bacon and eggs hits the mark. I appreciated that bringing in a baby capsules wasn't frowned upon (the door was held open to help this slightly awkward first time mum feel a little more comfortable). If you're in the area I say give this place a shot!

Delicious food, fantastic ambiance, friendly staff, and did I mention the delicious food! The chai lattes are also the best I've had - real tea brewed in milk of your choice. Plenty on offer for vegetarians, paleo preferences or celiacs too. Thanks Deb and Julian, you've created something special here :)
My friend and I had lunch here and we came in with prams. The staff were so lovely and kind and helped us find a nice space to enjoy our meals. The food came out and the presentation was superb, taste was rich and full of flavor. Such a great cafe.
We both had the Omelette which was amazing. Full of flavour and the whipped goats cheese was the perfect accompaniment. A must try place to go!

Good experience! Firstly the order was processed quickly, which is good, so you don’t need to wait for long. Friendly service, nice environment, lots of tea options seems nice. I ordered chili scrambled egg, and the taste is awesome, there is apple salad under the croissant, and few slides of sausages, which make the taste very unique and good. Chocolate cake is also good, but not as good as the egg, not so sweet, the sponge is firmer than I expected, all good.
Only thing is, if the scrambled egg would be more eggs, that would be better. Maybe because I was too hungry, after I was having the scrambled egg, I feel I could eat more, maybe 1.5 size of the scrambled egg, at least make the egg all over the croissant, not leaving space, and not a thin layer, thicker layer of egg, after all, this is called the chili scrambled egg. The croissant underneath the egg is little out of shape, maybe also having a larger croissant would be nice.
After all, the restaurant totally worth trying, and I will definitely go back again.
Nice little cafe, hidden away along a quiet strip of shops. Have driven past the same road a thousand times but never noticed it. Friendly service and decent food
Really, really lovely food. We had the linguine and eggs and a kids chicken and chips. The service is really incredibly warm and personal. Great kids toys and outside area to let your kids run a bit wild while you try and have a quiet latte. Great little unassuming place!
JBN has a cute backyard perfect for small families with young kids.
The good: coffee arrived quickly and was we excellent. Vegemite rarebit was interesting-I loved the caramelised onions and salsa on the side , they went really well together with the whole dish. Staff was kind enough to switch my eggs from poached to scrambled.
Not so great: beef ragu was under seasoned and needed more depth

Definitely my favourite local brunch spot in the area. Always perfect mix of flavours in every dish and good coffee also. Have not been disappointed yet, and love trying their new specials.
Wanting a local cafe that serves good food and preferably without the long wait. This cafe ticks all three. We got there at 11am. Good was delicious I had the mixed mushrooms and my friend had the smoked salmon. Their coffee was great too! You don’t need to order “strong” whatever, which has become a habit of mine after experiencing so many cafes serving coffee flavoured milk. Many locals (I assume they are locals lol) comes and goes only getting take way coffee proofs it. Will come back.
I come here for coffee every Saturday morning to buy coffee for my work colleagues and every Saturday our pick me ups put us in a feel good mood in an instant! One of our favourite local cafes to go to for beautifully made coffee. Perfect blend, perfect temperature and service with a smile! Cannot boast about them enough!

Nice coffee and delicious breakfast. Tried the breakfast special which hit the spot. Sourdough with avo smash, crispy kale and greens mixed with quinoa topped with a poached egg. He had the French toast with lots of maple syrup and berries and lemon ice cream 👌🏻👌🏻

This place is a gem in what’s considered a rough part of the neighbourhood . Don’t let the other rough looking shops in the same strip deter you. The food and service was excellent. I had the French Toast which was amazing. Kid friendly place with an outside small play place and tables for the warmer days. Place was constantly busy. My cousin had the salmon bowl which looked amazing as well (she dug into it before I could take a pic). Seating is limited here but there didn’t seem to be a big wait for tables.

Great brunch place! Service was attentive, interior was clean and decorated, and their food was fresh, detailed and delicious! Highlights were the matcha latte, the Roti Jack and the Salmon sub. Some extra variety on the menu would just about give it full marks.
The restaurant has a very nice ambience. Food is great and definitely worth its price. I also bought an iced matcha latte which I didn’t take a photo of but it was without a doubt, the best one I’ve ever had. Would definitely recommend and will be back for more!

A lovely small venue situated in the heart of Maribynong. Their Roti Jack was to die for. Could not spot a fault on this dish. Each ingredient blended in perfectly together the spicy mayo, slowed cook lamb shoulder and the milk bun was simply delightful to eat. Definitely a recommended dish.

Quick service and friendly staff. Always greeted here with a smile. The perfect little cafe after a jog around the Maribyrnong river. Be sure to keep your eyes open as you might miss it, JBN is located on Mitchell St, Maidstone. Not many know it’s there.
The Applewood-Smoked Salmon has got to be my favorite on the menu. Israeli cous cous and smashed peas with smoked tomato gazpacho, yuzu yoghurt, pickled fennel, crispy leek, watercress and a poached egg. Sounds good right? Yes. Absolutely delicious.

As you can probably tell I’m a regular customer. It’s our go to cafe as it’s only a short walk from our house. Can’t fault anything about Jack B Nimble. Friendly staff, fast service, yummy food, decent portion, reasonably priced. I highly recommend their matcha latte, pulled lamb roll and granola!

Jack B Nimble is a super cute little café serving up some of the best brunch I’ve had! The café is located on the west side at a pretty obscure spot, but that does make the prices more affordable. Food and coffees were great! Definitely a place I’d come back to. Skim Cappuccino $3.80

This is a great friendly cafe in the neighbourhood. Simplistic design with a seasonal menu which changes from time to time. Their matcha latte and roti jack with lamb shoulder have always been yummm! Also family friendly as they have drawing packs for kids and outdoor area, very thoughtful.
After finally getting around to checking out this local I'm kicking myself I didn't do it sooner. Warm, welcoming cafe in the Western suburbs and just what the area needs. Enthusiastic staff who were keen to show off the varied and innovative menu. As habit i went with the fried chicken burger as i feel this a good way to gauge a place out and was happy i did. Lightly-toasted brioche (maybe) bun, melted cheese on a perfectly-executed fried thigh, mildly-spiced mayo and you're onto a winner. Can't wait to get back

Fresh and well lit cafe (a little cold) in Maidstone opposite the park and close to highpoint. I ate the pulled lamb roll with was nice, although I've said it before and I'll say it again, I just don't understand brioche. Husband had the beetroot and cinnamon bread which he said was the nicest breakfast he has ever had. They need to add milkshakes to their menu.
Great little hidden gem. Super friendly staff, coffee is so good, I always end up getting two. Love the black pudding with some poached eggs and avocado. Give it a try - delicious.

This local cafe is great! The service is always good and helpful, and the food is always well prepared. Most importantly, the coffee is ALWAYS on point. Maybe my only gripe would be the small menu, but with that being said - the menu itself is full of delcious options albeit limited.
Loved this place, the staff were brilliant and the food was well price and of course tasty. Stumbled across this place a couple of months ago. Very unique flavours and some dishes were well presented. My favourite was the stone fruit breakfast panna cotta and the Vegemite relish was to die for ❤️❤️
I am so very happy to find a great cafe within walking distance from me, which could easily rival those in WeFo or even the CBD. The coffee is by Axil, and the menu looks divine. My flat white was perfect, and I was served by the loveliest waitress.

Cute little cafe tucked in between a row of shops that I would normally drive right past! The decor and overall feel of the Cafe was lovely, bright and very welcoming. Staff were very attentive and friendly and the coffee was perfectly balanced. I had the omelette and really enjoyed it. Serving size was more than enough for me :)

Despite being in the heart of a residential area, this place was quite busy for a week day, which it is always a good sign😘.
I ordered their Applewood-Smoked Salmon dish and I have to admit that was one of the best dishes I have ever eaten 😍. Perfectly smoked salmon, flavoursome ingredients and great textures that kept me going for more and more until the plate was empty.
On top of that the staff are lovely, I met Egin and Samuel who were absolutely champions!👌
Do yourself a favour and come out here to enjoy true food and have a great time!

Love the ambience and service here. Staff are always so friendly and attentive. My favourite things to get here are the matcha latte, iced and hot, so delish. And the salmon dish, yummy!! Have tried the cauliflower soup which was ok, chicken burger which was nice but not amazing, needed more sauce, and the black pudding which wasnt great. My partner tried the cumberland sausages and he said that wasnt great either. Would still come here for weekend brunch for that matcha latte and salmon!
Located on a deserted suburban street of closed laundromats and empty salvo stores you will find this glittering oasis of a coffee store. Perfectly made lattes; creative and yummy food; gnocchi, Cauliflower mushrooms are absolutely delicious. Only downside is lack of wifi for those of us hoping to answer some emails while sipping down caffeine.

Near a laundromat and a hairdresser lies our favourite neighbourhood cafe and a brunch maestro - Jack B. Nimble.
Service here is always top notch where every staff member treats us like an old friend. Star Wars fans would appreciate the La Marzocco which features Chewy and Darth Vader figurines. Even the colorways of the machine matches the light wood and white interior of the cafe. Also enjoy sitting beside the bookshelves at the counter, admiring the storm trooper (used to be Rex) terrarium and the various books for browsing.
Some of our menu favourites includes Southern Fried Chicken Burger, Applewood Smoke Salmon, Roti Jack and the new Handmade Potato Gnocchi is delicious! Coffee beans are sourced from Axil. After dining here 5-6 times, I only had 1 burned cappucinno. Which is easy to forgive when everything else is fantastic. Their instagram game is on point with regular updates on menu and opening hours during holidays.
Also found out that no one in the store actually named Jack but that wouldn't stop us from trying out the rest of their menu and maybe even dining outside at their quaint backyard, if the fickle Melbourne weather permits of course.

I ain't messing about mate, your Southern Fried Chicken burger is still the best I've ever had in Melb. Great to see one of your former waiters being a barista now and his coffee was on point!
Lovely casual eaterie that's local. But be warned because of its popularity, weekend spots can be limited. Twice have had to wait 10-15mins for a table. Apart from that, food and service is fabulous.

Hidden gem in Maidstone. I work right nearby and never knew this place existed until a friend gave me a suggestion to head on down and try their chicken burger. I gotta say I was really impressed. Especially for a cafe.

this cafe, small yet charming with its wooden interior decor and furnishings. it is child friendly providing colouring activities and even books for customers to read! to add to the charm is the shaded courtyard which was perfect for brunch on a sunny day. customer service was impeccable! great brunching menu that caters to vegetarians, vegans and gluten free diets which was a mega plus. love love loved the french toast!!!! it is a must have at this cafe. and for the first time, I finally got to try the matcha latte and it was so yummy! would definitely return for the desserts in the window.

Have you ever been to a country and craved something so badly that no one could not satiate despite your valiant efforts? Well.. for whatever reason while I was over in the land of the rising sun munching on endless bowls of ramen, udon, curry rice among other countless delicious morsels… the haunting allure of brunch kept calling out to me.
Which is odd, because I don't even like brunch (I know, I know, I'm a heathen. I should be punished.) and it took two trips to Japan that made me realise what a fool I've been and what I wanted was right in front me all this time. I'm sorry brunch, I hope you take me back.. I've changed!
There were no candle sticks to be jumped over but just like nursery rhyme, Jack was a nimble and quick fellow. From the moment you step in, service flowed smoothly and continuously. Minimal waiting times meant we were in and out as quick as Jack. It probably helped that we wolfed down the food, it was sensational. But do stay and sit if you can, the woody calming interior calls for no rush at all. The menu doesn't rely on bread to provide the carb, resulting in dishes that are light yet filling. Case in point - the sinfully indulgent black blooding was paired with stalks of crunchy asparagus; so simple, very light and very tasty. Much wow. Our lattes were outstanding - balanced and smooth on the palate. Thank you Jack!

I was not entirely sure where I would end up whilst heading to Maidstone to try the menu at Jack B Nimble cafe. Hidden in a bustling, somewhat factory laden strip of main road, Jack B Nimble is not what you expect to find in this part of Maidstone, but it is definitely a pleasant surprise. The fit out is impressive, decorated with cool blonde wood and neutral tones, as well as greenery, which gives the cafe a clean, calming vibe. Combine this with some excellent coffee or a matcha latte, and some delicious brunch options, and for a second you will become confused and think you are brunching in Fitzroy or Collingwood.

The coffee is amazing and expertly prepared. The beans are so fragrant, unique and the temperature is just right. They obviously have a real barista.
I did not have their breakfast meals but what I did have was really good - the southern deep fried chicken burger. Think of a KFC zinger burger and elevate that by 10000x! Their play on a well known burger is genius and has to be commended. You take your first bite and the flavors are so familiar but wait, it's also so much better. It's like you found the best zinger burger ever made! The green apple and dill slaw on the side complements the burger well as there's something fresh and tangy to counter the grease from the chicken.
The waiter could be a tad friendlier though. That aside, I can't wait to go back and try their breakfast menu. A must go!

Have been here a few times now and the food just keeps getting better and better. Tried the black pudding today and it was delicious - loved the addition of crunchy quinoa. Coffee is good too - full flavoured and not too bitter. Staff are friendly and efficient. Great addition to the footscray / maidstone area. Jack B Nimble quietly delivers amongst other local cafes that have much bark but sadly no bite.

The stooges haven’t seen each other in FOREVER which mean it was time for a catch up so…we chose brunch and decided to do something local - Jack B. Nimble. Lucky for Mr D, he got to come along to our brunch date and see how awesome we were. There’s a few parking spots right in front of the the cafe but if you couldn’t snag a spot, there’s parking around the corner so don’t fret my lovelies.
Ready to compete with the local cafe sprouts in Footscray, Seddon and Yarraville, Maidstone seems to finally have arrived. Not that there aren't ones already there, but a friend who lives there tells me that up until now there weren't any good ones. JBN seems to have been a welcome arrival and after my first visit, I tend to agree and can now have an option up north of Footscray rather than always south (or east to North Melbourne).
Simple decor, fresh, bright, positive vibes all round! Food was well balanced and in such an unassuming part of the neighbourhood, literally drive past here all the time and never noticed this place! Very glad I did. Great coffee too!
Cosy, comfortable cafe with ample parking. Food is well presented, portion not overly big. Attentive staff, allows split bills which is handy.

Such a short stroll from home, i'm sure to be a regular for their matcha lattes & exploring their tasty looking menus for weekend brunches, which seasonally changes.
Shared 2 dishes one savoury & one sweet as we couldn't decide as they all looked good.
On special was their Oat pancakes with butterscotch banana, creamed ricotta and peanut butter plus maple bacon to hit that sweet tooth...delish!
The Spiced Cotechino with 2 poached eggs was even more amazing, but next time will order with sourdough bread to scoop up the delicious tomato & yolk goodness.
Staff were oh so friendly & interiors matched that of many hip Chapel St cafes. So pleased to have this as a local spot. Also they spilt bill...tick!

only twenty minutes from the city centre. amidst its weatherboard houses, and old factory sites which have been developed into modern townhouses.
Well if am going to keep dreaming I think I should splurge on a rich indulgent breakfast think pancakes, waffles or FRENCH TOAST!
This sweet and fluffy french toast is infused with deliciously subtle and not-too-sweet dulce de leche, & paired with kiwi, pear and mandarin, as well as malt crumb and topped with earl grey tea mascarpone, my goodness
My first bite is decedent and delicious and the aroma of the entire dish blooms in your mouth. It's one of those experiences that will for the remainder of this year, ruin everything less than the real thing.
A rose in a concrete garden. Cute and quaint little place in a somewhat decrepit suburbia. I do hope the neighbourhood knows what it just gained. Coffee was outstanding. The menu collective is smartly put and the food was good without trying too hard. We had the roti jack, milk bun with slow cooked lamb shoulder, which was tasty. The chicken burger served with slaw whilst didn't plate very well was crunchy and juicy. Is JBN worth the journey if you live in East? Perhaps not. But I'll be damned if the West doesn't rejoice.
The new kid in Maidstone sure did deliver. Coffee was good, though am not too sure why one came with fantastic coffee art and another completely without.

The times really are changing when hip cafes that are usually found in the inner city suburbs suddenly start popping up much closer to home. For the record, home is Melbourne’s westside and quite far out west for that matter. But hey, if it means not having to venture so far out for say even just a coffee on weekends, no complaints from me! With a menu that embraces a number of outside-the-box options, newcomer Jack N Nimble is a welcome addition to not only the west side but also Melbourne’s breakfast and brunch scene as a whole.
A bit of a quirky location but don't hold that against it. ..a brave sortie into the wild west! The food was outstanding. Our taste buds were singing. We had the prawn omelette and vegemite rarebit and both hit the spot. This chef can cook! ! The service was friendly too. The only thing that detracted from the experience was the decor. Too much ( walls, tables and chairs) was in the same beige tone. And apart from a lovely communal table at the front (complete with mini library), the tables are mainly set out in a regimented grid pattern. Together, the colour and grid layout make it feel a bit depersonalised. Yes there is some indoor greenery, but please make it look more inviting. ...Then I might be tempted to give it a gold star rating of 5!
Awesome coffee! Great breakfast selection, staff were very helpful, croissant was yummy and located in the Westie and the place always pack too. What more could I ask? :)
The west is really upping its game and with the addition of JackBNimble is just another example of the cafe scene expanding from the city/inner city. JBN is in Maidstone which is a bit more proper west and I'd hate to say it but the gentrification and result of the Melbourne housing market. A bit out of the way, but then it has the convenience and no nonsense of parking traffic people etc.
The coffee is superb and the food is clean which felt some Asian japanese influences.
It's a mixed bag. It's a good local.
Jack B Nimble is a restaurant in Maidstone with an awesome brunch menu. The chef has a background in Malaysian cooking and you can see that influence come through in the dishes. The meals are stylish, flavoursome and are made with a lot of heart. Lucky for the people who live in and around Maidstone, they now have a local brunch spot without having to travel far and wide.
Small place, simple flavours, great coffee and warm service. The home made gnocchi was light and fluffy. My husband loved the roasted cauliflower if you want gluten free option. A bonus they have kids menu. The fried chicken burger was crispy paired with fresh slaw and apple. I wish more places like this would pop up in this area.
I've tried everything on the menu and everything is delicious, even a ham cheese and tomato croissant has a little bit of special. The coffee is also fantastic. Friendly service, nice decor.
Beautiful cafe opposite a small park with a light and bright scandi feel. Friendly staff and great food. Had the mushroom medley with a cauliflower rice which was delicious. Came back and tried the lemon and blueberry madeleines which were so good - light and moist. Definitely coming back when I'm in the area!
Pretty good brunch option in the inner western suburb of Maidstone.
We came by for a late brunch and had the lamb neck special as well as the roti jack. The lamb neck was superb, every bite was melt-in-your-mouth; and the roti jack was so remniscent of the roti johns I've had in Singapore and Malaysia. Delicious!
They also serve a yummy loose leaf chai latte and a decent matcha latte.
I was not entirely sure where I would end up whilst heading to Maidstone to try the menu at Jack B Nimble cafe. Hidden in a bustling, somewhat factory laden strip of main road, Jack B Nimble is not what you expect to find in this part of Maidstone, but it is definitely a pleasant surprise. The fit out is impressive, decorated with cool blonde wood and neutral tones, as well as greenery, which gives the cafe a clean, calming vibe. Combine this with some excellent coffee or a matcha latte, and some delicious brunch options, and for a second you will become confused and think you are brunching in Fitzroy or Collingwood.
Always serve a consistently good breakfast and the guys there are extremely friendly. Can't wait to try the Medelines which look yummy but I'm always too full after the breakfast to fit them in. Small place so service is always quick!

Jack B. Nimble is a relatively new cafe located in the West. A contemporary interior space is complimented by an outdoor dining area perfectly aligned with the sun in the afternoons. Luckily for us, when we visited the sun was shining (albeit with a hefty gust of wind!). Located in a relatively unassuming area of the West, Jack B. Nimble is a cafe that serves food sometimes inspired by the chef’s Malay heritage.
I had the chicken burger which was huge but really tasty. A lot of the breakfast items seem to come with white or black pudding which I am not so much a fan of. Coffee is ok, not great. Service was good (previously, not so)
Redemption for this cafe as they have 1 excellent staff (brown hair, lanky, glasses). Very apologetic when told been ignored. Ordered the omelette with hapuka, nori and a kombu broth. 1 word, delicious. Packed with flavour, I made sure I didn't waste a drop of the broth by using the bread to soak it all up. Coffee was excellent, can't really fault it. Will come back.

The milk bun was so soft. Lamb and goji berry were greatly matched. Plus a hint of spicy taste just came out of the bread crumb. It made me stopped talking.
It is a lovely little neighborhood cafe in the western suburb. Clean, warm décor. And good long Mac I had.

Once you enter through that door I was transported. So light, and inviting. Very spacious. The French toast was the perfect Brunch and coffee was delicious! The staff were friendly and very warm.
Loved this place so much on the Saturday that I was back on the Sunday! VERY good coffee and the food is great. Had the black pudding and white pudding... both were fantastic! Modern twists on both dishes resulted in great flavours. Good friendly service, too. I'll be back!
