If you know anything about Dad, then you know that I am a sucker for chocolate, and when I first heard of Max Brenner I thought “this is too good to be true!” Over the years I have spent a small fortune on the continual and original reinvention of Chocolate recipes at Max Brenner’s, whether it be in its solid or liquid forms, and folks it’s all bloody good. I am sure that if heaven exists then for me, Max Brenner encompasses all things that I hold close to my heart. It’s Godly people.
Max Brenner is a dessert bar that essentially offers an incredible variety of Milk, Dark or White dessert options that has a unique taste and quality that is sure to leave you wanting more. I have tried, tasted and loved everything on the menu, however if I was to create a list of top items that Max Brenner consistently nails every time (and is value for money) then these would be “Dad’s Max Brenner Hits”.
Italian Thick Hot Chocolate – I honestly believe that these Hot Chocolates are the best Hot Chocolates I have ever tasted. I personally think the Milk Chocolate flavor has the best consistency and isn’t too watery or too sweet. The dense chocolate taste is incredibly creamy, however doesn’t dry out your mouth with any oversaturation of cacao. I have also been to Italy and could not find a Hot Chocolate that compared to Max Brenner’s.
Chocolate Souffle – This is my favorite edible item on the menu to pair with the Italian Hot Chocolate. The souffle is warm and soft on the outside, however once broken into, is centered with smooth, rich chocolate sauce. The plate is decorated masterfully with milk chocolate and goes well with a side of vanilla ice-cream.
Peanut Butter Iced Chockie – This one is my go-to on any hot day. The frappe inspired drink is insanely delicious and has a perfect ratio of peanut butter and chocolate taste, that also has quite a thick and rich consistency. There will be lots of stuck straws as there are nuts-a-plenty and at least one ‘brain freeze’ will be experienced.
Waffle Celebration – This one is last on the list, mainly due to the fact that it is a little overpriced. The waffles at Max Brenner are crisp, yet thick and filling which also have a unique taste when paired with Max Brenner chocolate. I am not sure why its recommended for sharing between two people, however offer only three waffles (that last waffles mine!). The waffles taste great with ice-cream and sugar coated strawberries all balancing delicately on your fork.
Max Brenner is a unique yet delicious dessert bar that offers great tasting desserts and beverages that will be sure to impress. Max Brenner also has an incredible selection of praline options and a fully stocked shop where you can buy almost anything that you can see in store.
My verdict: Worth it for dessert and beverage options totaling $25 per person. Menu items and add-ons can get quite pricey.
I was pretty impressed with the crepes, they were moist, no stingy on filings and not overly sweet, the got chocolate with waffle balls is my favourite! Sooo good like a hot chocolate with little chocolate covered coco pops. The waffles were a little too sweet for my liking but my friend enjoyed them. Food came out fast as well.

This place opens pretty late most nights so is good for a late night dessert. We always order the tutti frutti waffles. They are crispy and a little chewy - just the way I like it. If you ordered a hot drink, be sure to add in malt balls!
Came here with my cousin because we were craving dessert. Max Brenner’s service and quality of food is consistent. I’ve always had a good experience everytime I visit. I always order either the crepes or waffles but today I felt like cheesecake. Their White choc crumb cheesecake was perfect with the melted chocolate and strawberries. The cheesecake is light and not too sweet so it goes very well with the sweetness of the chocolate and the freshness of the strawberries. I would definitely order it again next time I go.
The only thing I would mention is that I think the price for it is a bit excessive. But besides that, it really hit the spot.

First time coming here, and I have no idea why it took 19 years to even go here. Staff are friendly, seating is comfortable, and food is delicious.
We got hot chocolate (milk) to end the cool rainy night, and it was the best thing I have ever had next to other dessert places like Brunetti. I somehow found their hot chocolate not too sweet, just perfect.
We got the waffles which tasted crispy on the outside and fluffy in the inside. I’m not a fan of chocolate drizzle or chocolate, but the delicious vanilla icecream helped the taste of the chocolate - it was a harmony of sweetness. The strawberry and banana made me feel less guilty about what I was indulging every consecutive second, but I would have preferred for the fruit to be colder and fresh.
Good place to hang out. Would try the cold drinks on the menu!
Waffles were oomf, perfect for sharing. We ordered hot chocolates to go with them, but it made everything way too sweet. Definitely getting a bitter long black next time, to counteract all that the sugar.
Great place to unwind and wind up in a bowl of melted chocolate!

Max Brenner Chocolate Bar at Highpoint shopping centre is open late so it’s a great place to go for drinks & dessert on a weeknight in the western suburbs. We ordered the white choc chai & crunchy waffle balls dark hot chocolate. The white choc chai was not overly sweet & the crunchy waffle balls dark hot chocolate was delicious. Service was polite, friendly & fast.
The finger licking chocolate sauce attracts me to this awesome chocolate bar every time I think of dessert. I love those chocolate fondue for two because I love licking my chocolate sauce. 😋😋 so yummy. And the warm tutti-frutti waffle with a cup of ho classic chocolate milk is a match made in heaven. When Melbourne weather is cold I always fall prey to what this place can offer.
The chocolate dip has always been and remains my favourite. I could drink this chocolate just from the ceramic dish (and often do!). The hot chocolates are also a win, always.

Always satisfying to say the least. It's a good quiet place to perhaps do some work or have a quiet one or sip on some nice hot chocolate and maybe throw in that Belgium waffle. I had for the first time a White chocolate Chai which was smooth, tasty and at first I wasn't sure how to pour it in so the nice lady helped me out👍
Great staff. Clean tables and great atmosphere. The waffles and the hot chocolate is great here! There's a option to sit in or outside which is nice.
What is not to love about chocolate. You would really have to mess up to ruin anything with chocolate in. We often pop in here for a waffle or a lick pot.

All I see is chocolate ... for a chocolate addict like me , it's a heaven. From waffles to chocolate lick.. I can dip myself in perfect chocolate by this place. Always in love ... perfectly located in the shopping center.

The matcha latte winter edition was pretty good. Not too sweet nor too bland. The white chocolate cake was nice but the chocolate sauce was the one that made it into another level. I really loved the chocolate sauce though, it's 5/5.
Waiters are very friendly and polite but service was a bit slow because it was busy. All employees had a smile on their faces and were humble. Waffles were nice and toasty and the fruit was fresh. Perfect for this cold winter weather
Personally my favorite place for a afternoon tea or a nice dessert after dinner. This one inside highpoint shopping is just nice, comfortable and not as busy as the one in melbourne CBD. The waffle texture is dry, crispy and a bit hard which is what I prefer. The only problem is the cholcolate drinks here are a bit too sweet.

Everytime when i want a chocolate fix Max brenner is always my first choice. Their desert is so divine especially the hot chocolate (Italian thick) is the best hot choc i ever had.
Had a mid afternoon dessert stop, and oh my I left a diabetic!
We ordered the sunday which was pretty good, but could have used a bit more ice cream (and a bit of a pitty that the milk choc seized when poured on top :/ )
Choc milkshake looked good and the banana bread with milk chocolate was ok.
I would like to go back and try more :)

Everytime my gang want to catch up for a coffee/chocolate/desserts we always end up at max. It's a casual dessert place that has great milk chocolate more on the sweet side. I LOVE the Belgian waffle and always get a side of chocolate (no such thing as too much chocolate!). The waffles are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and Sooo yummilicious!
Great place for a catch up, prices are pretty decent and you won't get kicked out for overstaying. Definitely my local hang out place for chocolate!!
Love coming here for a chilled out hot chocolate and tutti frutti waffles. Service is quick and....mainstream. Certain nights can attract the annoying teenager crowds. None the less, delicious food

Chocolate galore!. While the waffles here are a bit dry and hard like a rock, the hot chocolates at Max Brenner make up for everything! Perfect place to catchup with a friend after some shopping. It's tucked away in one side of a mammoth shopping centre, so can be hard to find, but don't miss out on that hot chocolate.
I came here on a Weds late arvo. I ordered 2 waffles = $10. Cappuccino = $3.50. Friendly Asian girls at the counter, food served promptly. Waffles and coffee were delicious, with the help of melted chocolate!
If you take it for what is is you'll enjoy MB. The hot chocolates are insanely good.
Mmm...Chocolate. Overcroweded as usual, staff disinterested, but...amazing berry sundae, drizzled with a generous serve of pure melted chocolate, shared with my love, and teamed with the heavenly hot chocolate that we've come to expect from Max Brenner. So who am I kidding, I'll be back, no matter how poor the service is.
No words to describe this other than YOUR CHOCOLATE HEAVEN! This place is amazing, the drinks and the waffles are perfect. Highly recommended.
I don't think much of their desserts (except that everything comes with a little pot of melted chocolate), however their hot chocolates are amazing. My personal favourites are the dark thick Italian and the coconut chocolate (tastes EXACTLY like a bounty bar!). If you're after amazing desserts, save your money and go to Koko Black, but definitely come here for the hot chocolates.

Highpoint just got a lot better.. There's nothing on the menu not to like, but it's run by kids who think they're magicians behind the counter. They're not. Whoever sourced the chocolate is! Expect to wait for your order, but when it comes you'll forget about everything and you'll have chocolate on the brain! If you haven't tried it, I recommend not to, simply because you'll get addicted and it's so freekin bad for you!
Very expensive but the quality of food and drinks is always superb, though the service could do with a bit of an improvement.
After Shopping Therapy. After shopping trip, we'll love to stop by Max Brenner for a little treat before heading back home.
My favourate hot drink - Hot chocolate Suckao with always ordered with half dark & half milk chocolate, I can create my own drinks thicker or vice verse. Kids can also have a few bits to bite before the drink is ready while I was still mixing chocolate bits into the milk.
Will normally get the waffle with different combinations to taste. Only come for their chocolate.
Dessert Heaven.. Max Brenner is opened late into the night so it's great for a late night treat or catch up coffee.
Waffles with Chocolate sauce Strawberries and Ice-cream is delicious as well as their Chocolate pizza. They are also great for sharing over one of Max Brenners hot or cold drinks.
They offer a variety of shakes which are all delicious and their hot chocolates and mochas have real chocolate in them. Very delicious.
A little over-priced but well worth it for a treat.
The staff are also very polite and lovely.
Choc lovers heaven. I love the Cookie shake or for a hot drink the Chocolate with crunchy waffle balls. In my opinion I believe Max Brenner chocolate is far better tasting than San Churro. Max Brenner chocolate is rich in flavor. One of my friends is missing the Orange hot chocolate and would like it to make a come back...
I came here to buy a whole cake. It was their 3rd day since opening and they were under the pump near the end of day. But having said that, the service was wonderful. I bought the expresso almond cake but the staff member said he had 4 favourites and so I will be back to try them all. The expresso almond cake was lovely.

Their speciality desserts are Max’s Chocolate Mud Cake, vegan Black Forest cake, Carrot cake, Tiramisu, caramel brûlée cake, raspberry cheesecake, choc cookie cake, lamington with raspberry jam, and so much more, and all these are, mind it, strongly recommended.
The tiramisu and the cheesecake were my absolute favourite, so light, yummy and had so much flavours in it. Loved the fact that all these cakes aren’t too sweet but perfectly balanced enough so that we can enjoy it to our heart’s content.
The prices are so reasonable of a slice or a of a whole cake, and their hot chocolate is absolutely divine and the coffee is of great quality.

Yesterday we had the best time attending the grand opening of the first Cakes by Max Brenner cafe in @highpointofficial.
This is @maxbrenneraus first desserts focussed store and it features cakes produced exclusively in their patisserie, as well as pastries and a selection of beverages 🍫
We were really amazed by all the cakes we tried but our favourites had to be the orange chocolate cake and the chocolate cookie cake, we were also very happy with their vegan black forest 😍
We live like 10 minutes away from Highpoint so this will definitely be our new go to store when looking for some cake and coffee 🎂

Huge congratulations to Max Brenner for opening their FIRST cake store called Cakes byMax Brenner in Highpoint Shopping Centre 🥳🎉
We got to try some exclusive cakes and pastries created by cakesbymaxbrenner and ohh my god they were incredible 🤤‼️ We tried:

The cakes were so soft and had that melt-in-your-mouth texture, so easy to eat. The chocolates in them were of course amazing as Max Brenner is always known for their chocolate 😋 The tiramisu was actually one of the best I’ve ever had and I’m obsessed with it! *I told andrew I want that as my bday cake this year hehe 😉
The pastries were excellent too. Great crunchiness of the outer layers mixed well with the soft and flavorful fillings. Both fillings were so tasty, I wish I can have a loooong version of those pastries 😂
They also were giving out free mudcake and those were yum yum yum! We couldn’t stop munching on them 😋
Everyone definitely have to make your way to visit cakesbymaxbrenner even if you’re not close to Highpoint as they’re soooo worth it ‼️ Kinda wanna know if they plan to open in the CBD anytime soon hehe I hope they do cause we’ll be a regular for sure 🤫
Great new addition to Highpoint Shopping Centre, ideally located Cakes by Max Brenner offers a variety of sweet delicacies, that melt in your mouth. They also offer a variety of Coffe's and/or soft drinks, that are either provided for take away or table service.
The staff are very friendly and offer a service that is excellent .
The seating amenities are well arranged and very clean.
Definitely a place that cannot be missed.
Ordered a chohalate fondue with fresh fruits, chocolate and banana bread. It was fantastic and too big for us to finish. Best service.
