Took Mum out to dinner last night to celebrate her recovery from a recent health scare... Went to the opening night at Ikko Japanese Kitchen in Maroochydore... had a great meal (I had my fave... Kara-age Don... and Mum went for the Vegie Curry)... As I said, it was a great meal... friendly and thoughtful staff... I'd happily and highly recommend the place to others! :)
Always a good dinner at Ikko, best sushi in town! Tonight the Chef even put my beer on the house, due to a small delay as it was a busy night, I've been kept waiting much longer at many restaurants and never been offered anything! Great staff and food 💯%
The food was excellent! The prices are reasonable. Alcohol available. It is worth the effort for lunch or dinner. The best Japanese on the coast!

Excellent fresh food, amazing dinner. Miso soup, sushi roll, cold green tea, Salmon main, dessert plate home made white sesame pudding with ice-cream also organic dried fruits and chocolate coffee bean, hot green tea. Thank you to Chef Ikko and your wife for such an amazing experience, we will be back soon.

Seriously, this place is legit! The food is always super fresh, the staff are super kawaii and the chef clearly loves what he does. If you enjoying real Japanese food than Ikko and the crew have you covered. The chicken katsu curry, sashimi and gyoza are quality. Domo arigato Ikko

My first Japanese cuisine experience and I'm going to be a regular! This was extremely tasty and I'm excited to try the other dishes :)
We had our last dinner for our trip before flying back to Sydney. Love the ambience of the place. Took them 10-15 mins to prepare the food. Udon was tasty and warm-I'd give it probs 3/5, nothing special I'd say. Potato croquettes were a bit pricey ($9 for two) but otherwise cooked perfectly. Cashier was friendly. Plenty of parking space in the back or side of the restaurant. Not busy on a Tuesday night.
Authentic Japanese food. Very reasonable prices and most importantly, delicious! Was staying outside of Maloolaba but drove there especially to try. Did not disappoint! A must if you want good quality Japanese food.
Good value for easy Japanese food. Nothing fancy. The only thing we didn't like as much was the chicken sushi, not sure if it's because of the chicken.
Great to go to a Japanese restaurant run by Japanese people it's so rare, usually I'll speak to other places in Japanese and they don't understand because their Chinese or Korean

Had lunch 27/12 The food was awesome! Very tasty and well presented by a talented Japanese chef/owner. We were very happy and full. Not too expensive either. Staff very friendly and attentive. It wasn’t too busy so I suspect the road works in front of them contribute to that. Hopefully it’ll be fixed soon. Definitely worth a visit. I’ll be going back for sure.

Best Japanese food, atmosphere reminds me of Japanese restaurants.
Possibly the best Japanese takeaway on the coast. Delicious food, nice big menu with all the good stuff, katsu curries, Dons, karaage, gyozas etc and a few that are hard to find - like the delicious octopus karaage. Very reasonable prices for the Coast, nice serving sizes and the staff are great and will even make slight modifications to the menu for you within reason. Tip -they also have a menu you can view at the counter that has stuff that doesn't seem to appear on the main menu that appears online.
