Pool Cafe is a very busy cafe located right next to Maroubra Beach (close to Mahon Pool). I have been here a few times and it’s always been busy and has never disappointed in terms of service and deliciousness of food. Staff are friendly, there is a wide menu selection at average to cheap pricing, along with an incredible view of Maroubra Beach. Definitely recommend this place if you’re in the area.
Food recommendation: chorizo & paprika scrambled eggs 🍳
Pictured below: chorizo and paprika scrambled eggs with spinach, tomato, ricotta on sourdough & cinnamon and berry french toast with mascarpone and maple.
Simply awesome. We visit regularly and always order the same things! consistently great each time we go and the place is always jam packed which is a clear indication of how good it is!
Love this place. Staff friendly, food lovely, good value ...& on top has a great view.
Been a number of times for breakfast and lunch ...& will be back!
Would love some cold water...but hey it’s free...so can’t complain really.
This cafe has all three - food, view and staff. Breakfast menu has the usual with a little extras like homemade crostis (not just reheated frozen hashbrown) and avocado salsa (not just smashed avo). Lunch menu consists of burgers, pasta and pizzas. The spaghettis are absolutely delicious. The ocean view is always stunning and it's proximity to the rock pool (as its name suggests) is a bonus on a hot, sunny day.
This corner cafe has an amazing view! Portions are big and I could hardly finish. Coffee was great! I feel it’s a bit overpriced though as the food is not as flavoursome as I’ve had in other cafes. I had to add sauces and tobacco sauce to give my eggs a kick. Would be good if they used more herbs in their menu or served up some freshly cracked pepper.
Went here for the first time last weekend. It was busy but received a table almost immediately. I had the Shakshuka which was super tasty for such a simple dish. I ordered a coffee which never arrived to the table. Most disappointingly however were the plastic tumbler cups used for self service water. It would be much better for customers and the environment to invest in supply regular glassware.
Absolutely divine food and view. We stayed nearby and ended up having breakfast here 3 days in a row- felt no need to try anywhere new- we just wanted to try more things off the menu! Stand out dishes included the corn fritters and smashed avocado with seared scallops. Would 100% recommend.

How on earth does a place like this get 3.1 rating on Zomato. Top end food... Top end service... Brilliant atmosphere... The food again is divine from pulled lamb to naked burgers... Gluten free options. Must muat go place
Good breakfast! Efficient staff.
The vegetarian brekkie was awesome. The avocado n toast comes with scallop which my friend loved. The coffee was good too. Will definitely visit again.
The pool cafe in Maroubra is definitely my favourite spot for Saturday or Sunday brunch. The place is always fairly busy but the wait is never that long. Staff is friendly, food is exceptional. Can only recommend to go there. Beautiful view while enjoying delicious food. 👍🏻
Wow we were not expecting such amazing food. We were just looking for a Sunday lunch and the place was packed. My seafood platter was excellent and everyone of our six person group was super happy with the delicious food. The prices were very reasonable and the service was excellent. This has to be one of the best cafes in Maroubra.
Only visited for a much needed cup of coffee after a thirty minute coastal walk in bright sunshine. My rating therefore reflects purely my view of the standard of the cup of flat with (with oat) that I was served, which wasn't presented barista style, and was rather mild for my taste. The service itself, I could not fault, or the lovely and slightly quirky décor. Indeed, I'd lay a bet that most customers wouldn't have a clue that there's what appears to be the 'bones' of a grand piano attached firmly to the ceiling.
The best breakfast from Newcastle down to Kiama! Incredible location, quirky atmosphere and a stunning, original menu. Do yourself a favour and go
Fantastic!! Bigger than Aussie average dish sizes, great coffee, amazing view. Can be busy so get there early for a guaranteed spot. They do great take aways, so grabbing that and sitting on the headland is also a nice alternative option.
Sunny winter morning sees the locals out in five at the Pool Cafe. A loving local attracting the young to old as well as those famous; Guy Sebastian and his wife. Well, I understood that the odd local politicians comes here with their family as well!
Located at the top end of north Maroubra, close to ocean pool. Views to the ocean is distance, but still provides the beach vibe.
The menu has always being extensive and brunch orientated; all day breakfast, with specials for lunch.
My fellow dinners and I settled for the attention grabbing mash arvo with scallops and Seafood Mezz (fried version) and lunch special with Octopus salad. I did change milt mind many times because I was also tempted with seafood corn fritters. Choices!!
Coffee and freshly squeezed juices (up to three choices of watermelon, carrot, apple, ginger and orange) arouses the palette before the food.
I have always enjoyed coming here and over the years the food remained consistent. This is evident by the varying photo posts.
I will keep on coming and enjoy the food, drink and the distant ocean view across the road and reserve.
Good food, good service, relaxed and friendly and great double shot of coffee. Menu has no fuss variety of standard fare. Great view over the water from tables out front catching the last of the morning sun on a cool 15 degree but sunny day…..
