Review Cheung Sing Bbq House - Maroubra

Sharron X
Nice old-school Cantonese BBQ joint near Maroubra Junction. Pretty good roast duck ($18 for half) - meaty with crispy, rendered skin. The soy chicken Maryland ($6) was quite good too, could have been a little more juicy/tender.

Never had a problem here. Food is generously served, piping hot and flavourful - one of our go-to takeaway spots!! (Their roast duck is beautiful!)

Great BBQ duck at bargain price I’ve tried a number of things off the menu at this place and my favourite is the duck and rice noodle soup. Basically a chicken broth soup and an generous serving of roast duck would you add yourself. I’ve attached a photo of what my order looks like after I’ve added some mint. What you see is only $14 which is amazing value and I can assure you it is delicious. They source their ducks from Pepe’s ducks so you know they are premium quality. The decor isn’t overly fancy, but the food makes up for it. This looks like a family run operation with genuinely tasty food.

Authentic tasting Cantonese food. Yummy dishes. Prices are a little more expensive than what I expecting for a local Chinese restaurant.

Have been here a few times, mostly for the meat to take away. Quick service and good staff. Nothing negative to say.

A simple and decent sized Chinese restaurant with a great food quality and variety of food menus. They serve a very delicious BBQ meat of pork, duck and beef. We ordered BBQ duck and pork mix with Chicken Laksa and stir fried mixed vegetables. BBQ duck and pork was super tasty. Chicken Laksa was rich in coconut flavor and was so delicious. The service and staff is really very nice and they do really care for their customers.

In short, it is great place for a good food at low price and to spent a quality in this decent sized restaurant.

What a fantastic find. We travel from Crows Nest to eat here. Why?, because the food is really fresh, the service is fantastic and the price is inexpensive too.
There are too many Chinese restaurants that have low class, mass produced food but this one stands out for its overall quality.

A little local Chinese eatery in the outskirts of Maroubra Junction.

A variety of menu items to choose from with very cheap prices. Place is buzzing with locals, service is eh but doesn’t really matter but I didn’t have high expectations. Lots of parking around but not much seating so get in as early as possible!

Food recommendation: BBQ pork🍽

This place is so close to where I live but I never knew it until I found it on Zomato! Didn't expect it would be so packed on a Sunday but the food came really quick! We ordered pecking duck pancakes, pork in pecking sauce, salt and pepper tofu and nasi goreng. I'd have to say the portion is huge! Food is so tasty and service is amazing. Everyone is friendly (you don't really get this kind of service in most chinese restaurants). I would defs come back again and again!!

This is a great Vietnamese/Chinese run restaurant in Maroubra Junction. It is one of my favourite lunch spots. It is a decent size space with a simple set up, with their main objective serving food in mind. As to be expected with a quality reasonably priced restaurant, they do get busy.
Who doesn't like BBQ and roasts? These guys serve up quality Chinese BBQ and roast meat including pork, duck and chicken.
They have an extensive menu serving Vietnamese and Chinese cuisine in big portions. I recommend sticking to the Chinese and keeping it simple. I usually go for the Noodle soup with BBQ meat combination and they serve the meat on the side. Which I prefer as the suop tends take away from the flavour of the meat.
Great food, portions and price, you will not leave hungry.

It is very hard to miss this place as you went pass Maroubra Junction. Even harder when you see the price tag. Not quite sure what cuisine they are trying to emphasize on. There is Vietnamese, Malay and Hongkong Style food. Anyway they are all inspired by South China sytle cooking.

Food quality is good so is their service. Price can't complain. We love their BBQ Pork, Roast pork and roast duck.

Bottomline : Good food. Good service. Great value.

Looking for a cheap Asian meal? Then look no further than the Maroubra area. Cheung Sing BBQ House is located in the heart of Maroubra Junction. As you walk into the restaurant, you are greeted by a man with a very, very large meat cleaver, who skillfully chops the tasty barbeque meats in one swift swoop. Chop! A bit scary, but it adds to the fun. The menu is extensive, plastic, about ten pages in length and includes a large variety of Chinese, Vietnamese and Thai dishes at extremely reasonable prices. Peking Deck Pancake ($5) Absolutely mouth water and juicy. The best part is that they serve peking duck with a large chunk of meat. At other places, I am always disappointed with the tiny shred of duck that they serve. Mongolian Lamb ($17) A generous portion sized meal with sizzling, tender lamb. Shredded beef Peking style ($15) My favourite dish. Long crispy, tender shreds of beef. Please sir, can I have some more? Fried

Another cheap eats in Maroubra area! Cheung Sing BBQ is located in the heart of Maroubra Junction and is always swarming with people. They served not only Chinese foods but also Vietnamese and some Thai foods. And as the name suggest, their BBQ is tasty and the portion is super generous! I went here last week with bebski and my brother for lunch. To start with, I ordered Vietnamese Spring rolls. The Spring roll is crispy on the outside and the fillings are flavourful. The downside for me is the curry powder that they used in the fillings.. Doesn't say "Vietnamese" in my opinion. But I still like it ^^ Spring Rolls $4 Bebski got the Roast pork on Rice as usual every time we visited the place. The pork was juicy and fatty and the crackling is just gobsmackingly good! The portion again, was soooo generous! Even Bebski got a hard time finishing it all. Roast Pork with Boiled Rice $9 For me, I was torned between the Combination Chow mein or the Hokkien Noodle but ended up with the Chow mein

Located a few blocks away from the main centre of Maroubra shopping is this cheap and cheerful chinese restaurant which makes one of my favourite Salt and Pepper Chicken Wings. They are so cheap, only $6 for 6 tasty juicy pieces, and the generous sized Ro

Disappointing bbq. My boyfriend and I went there for lunch last Saturday at around 1pm. Surprisingly, the restaurant was not crowded and we did not need to wait.

Mix BBQ rice (Roast duck/ BBQ pork): There were more bones than meat on the roast duck, which was disappointing. The BBQ pork was a little too dry.

Crispy chicken with fried rice: Not too bad, except the fried rice is a little too bland. Probably not worth paying an extra $1 for it.

Overall, the portion was very generous (especially the amount of rice they serve) for what it cost. However, given the excellent rating on urbanspoon, I feel that this restaurant is over-rated. I will probably not go there again.

Great BBQ. Awesome Bbq ...go the mix BBQ Noodle Soup ...2 choices of meat and big bowl of nice soup for $10. Combination Chow Mein is good too - and massive. Even the Pho is decent
