Review Elissar Lebanese Restaurant - Maroubra

Such great dishes in this restaurant. Attentive staff, tasty food and reasonable price. worth a visit if you live nearby.

Once was enough! We have moved to the area and thought we’d try this place for takeaway. We spent nearly $50 and got half as much food as we would have at other similar places. Not only was there not much food, what we got was so dry and burnt ... there was some flavor once you got through the black burnt outer of the meat - some of it was inedible. Spend your money somewhere else!

Not very sure if I have freshly prepared chicken or the a few hours (yesterdays) cooked chicken, it definitely no the juicy chicken I have had in other libaneses restaurants, but still... Great flavor and super garlicky sauce! I'll be back to try something else next time, as the rest of the menu looks awesome!

We held a function at Elissar and it was absolutely fantastic. Elie was amazing at supporting and catering and they provided really tasty food at a price that was affordable. The service was fantastic and they really looked after us well. I’ll definitely be working with them again 💖 thanks Elissar!!

We got takeaway, and the food came quickly and was a good portion size. Really happy with the meal although a little on the pricy side. The restaurant itself is huge and seems to have a less than lively atmosphere though.

Best food ever!! The restaurant is comfortable and clean. The staff are quite funny actually and they talk to you to check if everything is ok. I love that you can get food delivered (best food for hangovers). My favourite item on the menu are the lady fingers! 10/10 hectics :) definitely recommend checking out the restaurant!

Had the best Arabic coffee I've tried so far. So fragrant and smooth, couldn't help but have two pots. The potato coriander is extremely delicious, nice and crunchy on the outside then fluffy filling on the inside. Mix it with the hummus and boom a next level flavour hit. The lamb kebab was my favourite out of the skewers, so juicy and tender. For a banquet it was great value for money and the service was on point. Was passing by after shopping at Eastgardens yesterday and wanted a good feed, felt like Lebanese food went in there such a great place to eat and relax and have a shisha. The food was amazing and the gentleman who served us was so sweet. I have to say that this restaurant is wasted in an area as Maroubra what a tragic ridiculous suburb. What a fantastic restaurant!!

Had the most ridiculous experience at the restaurant. It is very big with at least 30 tables. We arrived and it was less than 1/3 full...lots of empty tables. We walked in the door and waited at the entrance for someone to acknowledge us. . . Several minutes went by the finally a waitress walked over and said 'do u have a reservation?'.. we didn't. Then she said 'I'm sorry but it will be at least a half hour wait. '... at this point i honestly thought she was joking. It was Saturday night and about 7.45pm and the restaurant was 2/3 empty. But, no, she was serious.... we walked out completely confused. And went up the road to the beautiful Chinese at Golden Unicorn at Maroubra where we were welcomed and enjoyed lovely food.

I love Lebanese food and was looking forward to a feast. It sure was - the portions are generous & its a great place for groups so you can order lots of different foods to share. There is a lot of meat, although it was more shredded pieces rather then the nice big chunks on skewers which I love. The falafel, fried kibbe and sambousik are good and crunchy. Its not all that authentic to me but its a fun place to gather for a fulfilling feed.

Good Hummus and Baba ghanoush, some of the dishes though have been westernized, like the creamy chicken breast. It is good Lebanese food for the area and I have been there few times.  If you stick to the basic Lebanese cuisines or the more traditional you will be very happy. I would recommend you pass on the creative menu. <br/><br/>Service were friendly but it took a while to get our food and there were only couple of tables seated in the restaurant. I will go back if I am in the mood for Lebanese food as I don't want to make the trip to Greenacre or Punchbowl.

A disappointment. Very disappointing all round. One of the dishes were clearly off but they insisted it wasn't and charged us despite it being inedible. Tragic atmosphere, lacklustre food, I get the feeling they must be struggling so are just squeezing customers. We won't be returning.

Bad. You have got to be joking <br/>3am parties !!!! Will never eat there thank you for waking the neighbourhood up

Awesome food!! Loved it! I was a bit sceptical coming here, but the food and service really blew me away, very authentic very fresh!!

Expensive sauce.. They tried to charge me and a buddy 14$ for a serving of 30g of garlic sauce... and ontop when we asked for a coke they only give you a glass of it that's barely 300ml.. but the meat was really nice. But all to expensive and haloumi was a big fat rubber rip off
