Review Barzaari - Marrickville

AS
We enjoyed dining here. Food was great and service was excellent. Our favourites were smoked eggplant, cauliflower, souvlaki but everything was tasty. I loved their aromatic tea. They serve good coffee too. It was a little noisy with airplanes flying over us when we ate at outside table, but it was a lovely dinner. Staff were all very friendly and nice.

Not your traditional Greek dining experience as this place has a middle eastern influence but definitely still worth checking out. The food was delicious and the staff were very nice and helpful. Highly recommended ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The M.I.L. salad ($11) with red cabbage, maple mayonnaise, toasted sesame seeds and plump sultanas was the dish that sparked the most joy in a recent takeaway meal from Barzaari. Tangy labneh ($8) was a close second. The strained yoghurt dip helped to jazz up our whole roast chicken, cooked with harissa, sour dates, and preserved lemon ($45). The chook was served with soggy beans and roast spuds that were a bit too wet for my liking. We intended to eat the dip with pita ($5) but this menu item only results in one small piece of flatbread that we shared. Kleftiko ($40), a slow- cooked half lamb shoulder came with roasted vegetables cooked in red wine so intense it dominated their flavour and stained up the underlying Cypriot rice. While I appreciate restaurants doing generously proportioned, whole family sharing meals (this also came with tzatziki) I can’t help but think it would have eaten better if each element had been packaged up separately. Bar for their smart salad idea, this meal didn’t get over the bar of stuff we can cook competently at home.

The food and dessert are great. Will definitely go back to try more food. The outdoor seating can be a bit noisy with the cars and aeroplanes noise

Great restaurant nice atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and it is a good place for dates or group meals. The only issue is the limited time that is available per seating. Had a full range of the menu - some interesting good flavours and inventive dishes that are not necessarily authentic but highly delicious. The fusion range is of Lebanese, Cypriot, Greek, Middle-Eastern and Israeli flavours. So overall I would recommend it, just be aware to order appropriate amounts and try experimenting. Prices are also decent. Small but interesting winelist

Generous portions, smokey, surprising flavours and a small but excellent list of Greek wines. A fantastic dining experience and a must visit in Marrickville!

If you are looking for a place where you can impress friends/family/work colleagues or a tinder date this is the place you need to go to. You enter and the aroma of the various dishes instantly excite your taste buds , you KNOW you have hit the jackpot. The genuine attentive service you can not fault. Every dish we had although experienced elsewhere still surprised us. This is a must visit and and will be our new go to. Thank you 🙏

Been twice for dinner as we love their food eg lamb shoulder, baked cauliflower . As Greeks, menu is authentic yet innovative. Staff very pleasant ......however if you are dining on Sat night, then 1.5hr time slot is enforced which makes it hard to relax and enjoy the meal with friends. So, take care on how many courses you order as you may run out of time. Tap water is served at $5 a carafe.
