Review Sidecar Restaurant - Marrickville

A hidden gem with top quality eats for a nice night out! Thanks for a great dining experience! The streak was great and dessert was delicious. Staff were more super friendly and they have a good selection of drinks to keep you going. I look forward to coming back before the the area gets redeveloped. Don't miss out!

Small local restaurant on Marrickville Road. Good vibe, great food. Service was a bit slow at the start but did improve over the night. Make sure you book as I suspect it fills up quickly on Saturday nights. It was fully booked when I went with a party of 8. The menu isn’t extensive but the food is done very well. Definitely be back there.

Very pleasant dining experience. Superb ambience, great food. My beef fillet was overdone but would still come back again!

This is a wonderful restaurant. The food is delicious with a good selection of vegetarian options. The staff are excellent. I have eaten here twice now and have had a great experience both times. There is a very warm and welcome ambiance about the place.

The vibe's good and the service was great, however the food was not quite there. Started off with the ricotta fritti which tasted like it was recently defrosted and missed the actual key component it was made out of, ricotta. The salmon crab salad special was the better part of the meal and had the right flavours. The beef fillet main was ordered medium rare but came basically raw - had to leave about a third on the plate. In general the dish itself was quite salty. Will return in the future once menus change but hopefully this review is helpful.

Love this little neighbourhood eatery. This is fine dining in a relaxed and friendly setting. The menu changes regularly and there's always delicious options to make vegetarians, vegans and omnivores happy.

Really enjoyed the food here. High dining dishes without the pretentious snobbery and cost. They are yet to be licenced, so make sure to BYO if you want a drink with dinner, otherwise head next door for a drink after dinner with some live music at The Gasoline Pony.

Amazing little restaurant, great food and friendly staff members, welcoming atmosphere. I was there for dinner with my mom and dad. They both were also impressed by the restaurant and amazing food. Truly a hidden gem in the Inner West.

A great addition to the restaurant scene in Marrickville with high quality meals at hotel prices - and it's BYO at the moment which gives you even greater value for money!

A very welcome addition to the Marrickville dining scene. Fresh interesting food at reasonable prices. lots of vego / gluten free options if that is you thing. Its BYO too, which helps keep hip-pocket costs down. Nice cosy vibe and friendly staff. It's run by the team from Gasoline Pony bar next door, so it has a bit that boho, rock'n'roll thing that Marrickville does so well. We popped in to the Pony after dinner to catch a band and have a few cleansing ales. As you do.

This is a fantastic addition to the dining options in Marrickville and Dulwich Hill - after local favourites Blancmange and the General closed (or closed for Dinner in the General's case), there haven't been many mid priced dinner options if you wanted a change from Vietnamese.

I visited on a Thursday night and took advantage of Sidecar's $38 special with free corkage. I picked up a bottle of Australian wine from Bucket Boys, had a delicious dinner at Sidecar, then retired to Gasoline Pony for some additional refreshing beverages. At that price it was an absolute bargain - and with a small, regularly changing menu it's somewhere you can visit multiple times.

The food was excellent (huge portions, especially the lamb), and even without the weeknight special you're still only paying slightly more than pub prices for mains. The service was great too - friendly and endearing, we really felt welcome.

I am really looking forward to returning - it's a great night out close to home, especially combined with the increasing number of small bars in the area.

Such a cute place with atmosphere and great new option for dining in Marrickville. Being a vegetarian with a meat eating partner Sidecar caters to us both with great meals. Thankyou!
