Review The Grifter Brewing Co - Marrickville

Chris
One of my favourite breweries around. Honestly the tastiest beers! Give 'em all a go, it'd be rude not to! The decor and atmosphere is great here, staff are friendly and the music + vibe is always on point. They generally have a food truck pulled inside which is ultra convenient when sinking a few brews. There's also a pool table, but make sure you bring some coins as they don't give change at the bar, so a bit disappointing there...

Great little brewery. My partner loves grifters so being able to access all drinks in the range is a treat for him. I enjoy the Pink Gallah! Surprised they haven’t upsized the place as it is always packed

“A grifter might be a pickpocket, a crooked gambler, scammer, or a confidence man.” Then consider me fooled … as on today’s mini-brewery crawl thru Marrickville the best beer of the day was had right here at Grifter - The Peach Melba Sour. A hint of sweetness, a hint our sourness, unmistakably beer and altogether refreshing! This dog friendly brewery has its entrance via the garage doors, and opens up into an expansive seating and bar area, warm with mirth and strong on ambience. Getin and get on the grift!

Great brews, now conveniently delivered to my door. Every beer I've tried of theirs, I'd be more than happy to have again. Plus the squealer fits really nicely in this stein so I can keep telling the doc I only have one glass or bottle of beer a day. Definitely get the Serpent Kiss and Big Sur as the weather gets warmer!

Super friendly, knowledgeable and patient staff to explain beers to suit individual palettes. Good beers (I liked the sunshine XPA) however the tacos are pretty average (ingredients not high quality). Overall good vibes. Bonus for being dog friendly throughout whole venue.

On holiday from Brisbane and brewery hopping. Walked into The Grifter and met Angus at the bar, and he was phenomenal at the service, banter and passion for the product. After being to 5 other breweries in Sydney, this was THE BEST at service, thanks to Angus. Cheers mate!

Decent brewery with half decent beer.🍺🍻 Don't expect to get a feed here. There was a taco 🌮 food truck, but the taco on the menu sounded so unappealing. Furthermore, there was a line up for the blokes toilet.

Awesome local innerwest brewery. With plenty of room and plenty of dogs usually. Their core range is delicious, the pink galah being my favourite. They’re trying to release a new brew every two weeks so I guess I’ll have to continue coming back more regularly. Yay 😀

Be prepared to sign in via mobile as part of the venue’s COVIDSafe practices, and then get ready to enjoy a craft beer or three from a range that includes watermelon pilsener.

The Grifter Brewing Co is a top brewery, housed in an old industrial warehouse. The decor is eclectic with a pool table, a bunch of vintage books, lamp shades and some skateboard decks on the walls. It feels in fitting with the Marrickville area in which this pub is located. The vibe is fun, with couples, groups of friends catching up and some cool tunes playing. We note you can also bring your dog.

Great place to chill and relax. Came in on a Sunday but can see this place get really packed on a Saturday. Good selection of beer a few including a some unique flavours

Edit: won't accept cash at the moment but still charge a card fee. Very underhanded and probably illegal.

I rate the Grifter as one of the better beers - at least their flagship pale ale, some of the rest are overly fruity. However, it's also one of the most expensive beers around, so it could be good to come to the source where the prices are lower than in pubs. $5 or $6 for middies - but note all ponies are $3.50, so the $6 beers are better value as a pony. The bar's quite nice, too, nice tables in the warehouse. The Vic's next door if you get bored.

This place has great beers. Many options and I love the tasting paddle where you get four 200ml size beers for $12.

The only thing is that there is a line outside the place when there is room but I guess that means everyone has room to sit down.

Beers are not to my liking. They seem to be aimed at people who want beers that are modified, fruit-flavoured, infused, sour or somehow removed from the essence of beer. Otherwise, it’s a lovely lively space. Pizzas are awful though. They need to organise food from somewhere better than Epic

One of Sydney’s great micro breweries!
Recently it’s made some waves with their watermelon beer as it’s made with actual watermelon not just flavored.
Iv been here a couple of times now & definitely intend to return to try more of their brews.
The most recent “Pink Galah” pink lemonade sour is well worth the taste.
Their “Acid drop” was the Crowd favorite in our last visit but I personally love the “Serpents Kiss” said watermelon Pilsner.
On my previous visit they had a dark beer that tasted of dark chocolate & coconut, that is definitely but again!
Their drinks are reasonably priced & they have small options for tasting.
There was also a pop up food truck on our recent visit.
The staff are friendly & helpful and theirs always a local dog hanging out 👌🏻🐶

Since opening in Marrickville late last year, The Grifter Brewing Co has become a popular and vibrant spot for lovers of craft beer in Sydney. Located in the warehouse of the former Fresh & Clean laundromat, the large brewery and bar is a long way from the small scale homebrew that owners Trent Evans, Matt King and Glenn Wignall were making in their kitchens back in 2012.

Beers were just ok. But the thing that bothered me the most is the soap that they used in the bathroom. It had a huge floral flavor and threw off the taste of any of the other beers I had in this place. Every beer I had after I used the bathroom tasted like flowers. It took me a while to pinpoint it but that was definitely the issue.
