Excellent cheeseburger, one of the best I've had in a long time - like a Shake Shack burger with a fatter, richer patty. Will be back...
For a place that looks so unassuming, I was really quite impressed by how good Reuben Republic is. The food is simple but well done, and it’s easy to tell that the owners care a great deal about the food. It’s not the most glamorous of places to eat, but it’s neat and clean, and the staff friendly. And frankly, when the food is this good, I’d eat it sitting out front on the kerb.
Absolutely fresh and full of flavour. Pork roll - potato roll is better than a brioche, pork very fresh and cooked to perfection, soft and succulent with super crunchy crackling, slaw married perfectly with their home made flavours ever so present. Hot dog was fantastic, the house made pastrami seriously the best I have had. You can tell these guys take care and pride in their food

Quite enjoyed the Sandwiches on offer packing plenty of meat to ensure you get bang for your buck. Staff were awesome helping me to decide which way to order, they were very descriptive and knowledgeable in what made each sandwich unique
A must try
“Good value for money” tasty and nicely seasoned pastrami and generous portion with a handful crispy fries which makes good size meal.
Passed by on a Sunday night, loving the fries and their signature east/west coast reuben sandwiches. The guys there are super friendly. Highly recomended!
Loved this place. Food and presentation were excellent. The bread rated amazing and was perfectly lightly toasted. The salami and kraut complimented each other well. I got the east coast which was $13. They have a deal on weekdays too where if you purchase any sandwich, chips and a can of drink is $2.50. The chips are quite decent - very crispy. Excellent service and some seating inside and a couple of small tables outside.
great burger , fair price, nice staff... easy! easy! easy! easy! easy! easy! easy! easy!
easy! easy! it's a shame daisy's cant adopt this nice staff fair price etc
Great find in Marrickville! Been looking for the perfect Reuben and I think I may have found it here! They also do great burgers (at a fantastic price) Lovely shop, friendly staff
All-round, great little shop for hitting that Reuben craving! Sandwiches and burgers are top notch (the 'massive' really is massive), all pretty cheap to boot compared to overpriced Sydney cafes. Heaps of variety in the menu, so it's a place worth visiting a few times. The service is quick, staff are very friendly (they were happy to add extra cheese to my order), and the coffee is pretty good. Definitely worth hitting with a friends or family for a satisfying feed.
I've been to this place a couple of times and it's amazing! The Reuben sandwiches are great and especially the East Coast sandwich. This place reminds me of New York a lot! All the ingredients taste fresh and the pastrami is to die for. The staff is always super friendly and the ambiance is great! I love this place!
Went here on a weekday with the birthday hubby and there were no lines at all. Had the massive West Coast Reuben and the meat was to die for! The amazing service and complimentary thick shakes really made my day too. My only complaint is that the bread slices could be a little bigger but other than that, I give this place and the food a big thumbs up.
Real good Reuben sandwich at Reuben Republic - tasty and stacked. I had the East Coast Reuben - because it has sauerkraut in it, along with pastrami, Swiss cheese and Russian dressing. It's served on light rye bread with a pickle on the side. A good combo, salty, meaty but light and the Russian dressing is a nice touch. Also had the chips, which were OK.
I love this place! Great food, great service and very consistent!
I have tried a few things on the menu, but the West Coast Reuben is my fave!
Came across these guys while looking for a late lunch and decided to give them a try.
Ordered the east coast reuben, double cheeseburger, crispy pork roll and cheese fries. Sandwich was stuffed, they don't hold back on fillings here. Cheeseburger looked great and bf loved it. Cheesy fries are good, liquid swiss cheese was new to me but enjoyable.
My pork roll had delicious tender pieces of pork shoulder. Not a fan of the slaw, but dressing is great, and the pork crackling on top added a good crunch. Servings aren't huge but fill you up quite well.
It fills up quite fast so there can be a wait when busy, but food is good. Will be back to try more.
These dudes understand exactly what it is that makes a good sandwich. The west coast ruben is perfectly moist, full of flavour and the Russian dressing adds just the right amount of creamy zing. The crunchy, salty pickle on the side is also the perfect accompaniment. The only negative is the wait, but well worth it. If you're a big eater like me, don't worry, one sandwich is more than enough.
A mighty fine treat! The crispy pork had crackling on the top, I think it needed another sauce to help it bind it altogether. The westcoast was good - nicely toasted, meat flavoursome and soft! The russian dressing just goes so well with it and so creamy. Eggs on toast is nice for an option for breaky.
How can you go past the Reuben? There is a love affair starting in Australia with these masterpieces, and this place will help kindle the flames. The Pastrami is so good. My only quibble is the Russian Dressing and Sauerkraut need a bit more zing to give the sandwich a real boost, but other than that I highly commend Reuben Republic for their efforts.
This place does my favourite pork roll in Sydney. Warm pork, coleslaw and cracklings on a fresh baguette, with a side of pickle. The Reuben sandwiches are meant to be great too, but I never make it past the pork.
A new hot spot to check out if you're in the Marrickville Area Reuben Republic Cafe.
I was eager to check this place out to relive my New York experience. So if you're looking for that New York Deli fix, Slow cooked cured meat check them out.
They have a ray of sandwiches to tickle your fancy.
A highlight of the day was the
Crispy Pork - wish there was more crackling on top though.
& the East coast.
I would definitely come back again and would like to try the bagels!
This place is buzzing on a Saturday for lunch. Luckily enough my friends and I didn't have to wait for long. My favourite sandwich: the east coast! The cappuccino I ordered wasn't great but I guess that's not what you go here for. The quality of pastrami in the variety of sandwiches we ordered was exceptional and I'd come here again to taste the rest of the menu.
Big Fan of the Ruebens from the Market Days and the Sandwiches are Brilliant but the time they take needs work. Got there 11am on a Wed wasn't asked if I wanted to eat there and was given it in a Bag after 17mins. FB post is telling people the wait on Weekends is over 45mins. Nothings that Good to wait that Long. :(
After it's grand opening on the 10th of July... I was eager to be one of the many hungry patrons to relive my NY memories at a self-proclaimed authentic Reuben experience.
We rocked up a bit before noon and the place was already filled with hungry diners who looked eager to sink their teeth into some pastrami as well. Within the ten minutes we were there waiting for our food, the line extended out the door at a rapid rate.
The hardest choice you'll have to make here would be whether you're an East Coast Reuben (pictured above) or a West Coast Reuben (pictured below). The main difference is the East Coast is served with sauerkraut and the West Coast with coleslaw.... and the difference in rye breads. If you ask at the counter, they're more than happy to point out the difference on a more in-depth paper menu that lays out what's in the sandwiches.
I personally prefer the sauerkraut combo as that's what I've just gotten use to. What I did notice was the pastrami quality was a bit of lucky draw as one had a nicer fat to meat ratio and the other was slightly drier. Both of which could do with more mustard... which apparently were available but I didn't notice. So remember to get yourself some self-serve mustard to rid the Reuben of any dryness.
We also got a plate of pickles as well. I'm not pickle connoisseur but I do love them. The sandwiches themselves already come with a side of pickles.
If you're not a fan of pastrami they have you covered with their Crispy Pork Roll. I felt it was nowhere near the quality of what Mr Crackles serves up and for me their pastrami is their go to dish.
The decor was simple, the layout was cosy and their customer service was friendly despite the abundance of guests. They had four staff manning the whole place, one takes the orders, one makes the drinks and the other two build the sandwiches... the combination worked for them and they still manage to provide quite a quick turn-around.
Even though we have no found any places in Sydney that have perfected what I remember in Kats Deli NY... this place makes a better attempt than most in Sydney. I'd personally would go back if I'm in the area... just to try out their bagels and another go at the Reuben.
Slow cooked. Made with love. I'm there. Great little NY style deli recently opened in Marrickville and already with quite a strong following with lines formed this Sunday lunchtime. A little busy for the three man operation however all produce especially the meat is fresh and high quality so didn't mind the wait. A nice Reuben sandwich, very generous with the meat though would like a little more slaw and Dijon. Though there is a handy tray of Dijon, sriracha, salt and other condiments for those who need it. The real winner was the crispy pork roll. Served warm, crunchy crackling is served with tender slow cooked pork. Wonderfully complimented by rocket and mayo, the taste is just heavenly. Price is also very reasonable at $10. Reuben Republic's love for food definitely shines through and with a little refinement could be a leading contender on the Sydney deli front.
